Your bloodthirsty Master of Ceremonies

And moving things along...

Ialda inches closer, passing over the mosaic dragons, until she reaches the closed double doors. Strangely, she finds them unlocked so she opens them, wary of any attack. Instead what she sees is a room completely covered in fog and mist, where she cannot see more than 5' in front of her. She cannot tell the dimensions of the room because the fog engulfs the whole room. As she and party look at the fog, you all hear from the East, from further inside the fog, at least you guess 20' away from you, a female voice that calmly says, "You have killed almost all of my guild mates and Cruncher I must assume, since he did not return. May I ask what I did to offend you? Did I or my men kill one of your parents, lovers, siblings for you to seek such revenge against me? Pray tell what I have done."

Knowledge (Arcana) check DC 21:
The fog is the result of an Obscuring Mist spell.

As she hears the woman's reply following by arcane words, Aeronniell shouts to the others "She's warding herself against those of good hearts!"

Her fingers twitching on her bow, she gives the mist in the room a long look.

"Ialda! Don't go in there! In fact, get ready to close the door, regardless if this trick works again!"

Aeronniell works to hide her anxiety and once again attempts a commanding tone in her voice.

"You! Inside! Approach Us!"

Your bloodthirsty Master of Ceremonies

You can roll a Sense Motive check if you wish. Also, for Target spells, such as Command, you have to be able to see your target, so Aero wouldn't have cast it.
Target or Targets: Some spells have a target or targets. You cast these spells on creatures or objects, as defined by the spell itself. You must be able to see or touch the target, and you must specifically choose that target.

Kowaru suddenly has a flash of insight as Aeronniel mentions that the woman inside the room has protected herself. "Yes, we wait out here for her. She can do nothing to us within the room." He glances at his allies, and lays a single finger to his lips. He then begins to tread into the room, recalling the times Master Ping had made him tread upon the rice paper, stepping lightly. I hate to hold up the game for 1 person, especially when the player has not posted in 24 hours, so hope you don't mind, Chez, but the show must go on!

"As you wish! I, Rowyna Kellani, will kill you all in Norgorber's name!" The confounding mist disappears and some 35' away from Ialda stands a blonde woman garbed in a chain shirt, wielding a rapier and a buckler strapped to her left arm. Natural Pic of Rowyna It is a little difficult to see her, though as multi-colored lights swirl around her person. She also wears an unholy symbol of the god, Norgorber, around her neck. You do not see her pet, Gutcrusher, though you do hear grunts and movement coming from behind the purple satin curtain, in front of which stands Rowyna. She looks very confident, despite the fact that she is outnumbered 6 to 1.

Chez moves in quickly before anyone can react and thrusts his rapier, while concentrating on his defense, and aims his blade at Rownya's ribs, but at the last second, the Mistress of the Lotus Dragons parries his blade with her shield, having it glance off harmlessly off her finely polished chain shirt. "Typical male, thought I would be caught unawares! It is you who has fallen into the spider's web, little fly!" Even more surprising than Chez' failure to penetrate her defenses is Rowyna's smile right before she literally vanishes from Chez' sight and reappears instantaneously behind him! "Now, Guts, come and aid your mistress!" She whistles and from behind the curtain steps a massive 10' black-furred gorilla, ripping it down in the process and moves to flank Chez with his 10' reach! The rogue priestess smiles and jabs her rapier into Chez' back, puncturing his abdomen, as the blonde warrior spits up blood and only through sheer force of will does he not collapse! Rowyna smiles as she pulls the blade out and screams, "Guts, finish him!" Fortunately, for Chez, the big ape's blow misses!

Don't forget that Bless should be up. Aeronniell renewed it at the bottom of the stairs!

Also, I have forgotten - are we using hero points at all in this campaign?

Aeronniell winces as she watches Chesley eagerly rush forward, stopping herself just short of shouting "no" towards him as he advanced.

Feeling the divine thread connecting her with her goddess stretched thin on this endless day, the elf attempts to to take aim at the large ape in the room before the combat gets too intense for her to aim.

To P,52. +1 for Point Blank is included below.

Longbow: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 24 for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Aero's Spells:

In tracking the spells that Aeronniell's cast so far today, I missed the CLW she used in May 2012 in the encounter with Nemien. She's actually cast all five of her 1st level spells, so she shouldn't have even been able to cast Command earlier.

5/16/12, Nemiem Fight: CLW
3/12/13, Cruncher #1: Bless
3/22/13, Dragon Ambush: Bless
3/23/13, Dragom Ambush: Command

Attack 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17

Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Added +1 to hit for Bless. Does a disabled ally still threaten? If so, I should get a +2 from flanking, which I have not added in.

Your bloodthirsty Master of Ceremonies

In response to your questions:
1. @Aero: Chez added +1 for Bless, still missed
2. No Hero Points - six players in game
3. No problem with Command, since you couldn't see Target anyway, so no harm no foul.
4. @Ialda: Yes, disabled character still threatens.

Despite cover modifiers, Ialda's arrow hits the large ape, causing it to grimace in pain and stomp his chest in anger! Rowyna looks at Aero in disgust, "You will pay for hurting my baby, you wench!"

Rowyna Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6..fail! Rowyna is dazzled (-1 penalty to attack rolls) for 10 rounds!

Ialda steps in to flank the rogue priestess but even with Chez providing a distraction, Rowyna calmly deflects her flail with her buckler to bounce off her armor without injury. Ialda can also feel a chill of unnatural cold, as she senses an invisible aura of black energy protecting the priestess. Descriptive text for Pro. from Good!

Mechanics:

Move to -O57. I believe that gives me flank with Chez, since he still threatens. I'll attempt to grapple her - hopefully, I'll roll higher than a five!

The dice roller has been anti-Kowaru for a long time now. I think you are going to have to come up with some sacrifice to the roller...

Your bloodthirsty Master of Ceremonies

Actually Kowaru, Ialda moved into the flanking position O57 first so you would not have received the +2. Not that it mattered, since you rolled a 1 anyway. So you all understand, in combat, if the only people left to act are the players, party order is determined by posting order. That way, we don't allow one person to hold the game up by going in exact initiative order. I just assume you all delay to allow the person posting to go first. Hope that works for all of you and that can change every round of course, depending on posting order.

Summary of Round 1:
Chez moved up and missed
Rowyna vanished, appeared behind him, flanked with Guts, and backstabbed Chez (disabling him)
Guts missed his attack on Chez
Aero fired arrow at Guts and hit wounding him
Xarethi moved up and dazzled Rowyna with her spell
Ialda moved up to flank with Chez but her blow was deflected
Baolo shot an arrow at the ape but it failed to penetrate its thick skin
Kowaru tried to grab Rowyna but missed

A disabled Chez is up to start Round 2!

Disabled condition:
A disabled character may take a single move action or standard action each round (but not both, nor can he take full-round actions, but he can still take swift, immediate, and free actions). He moves at half speed. Taking move actions doesn't risk further injury, but performing any standard action (or any other action the GM deems strenuous, including some free actions such as casting a Quicken Spell spell) deals 1 point of damage after the completion of the act. Unless the action increased the disabled character's hit points, he is now in negative hit points and dying.

A very smooth way to run it and something I may steal for my PbP campaigns.

Baolo, looking at the map M54 is 35' away from Guts, so I put you in M55, in order for your Point Blank shot +1 to have been added. Hope you don't mind.

Rowyna chuckles at how Chez fights to stay conscious, "You've already died pretty boy, you just don't know it yet!" She smiles at Ialda and Kowaru, grips her rapier and thrusts it into Chez! The party gasps, as the rapier rips through Chez' armor, skin, and bone, and punctures his spinal cord! Chez lets out a small scream that is cut off by the gurgling blood in his throat, before his eyes go black and his body crashes to the ground motionless, all life gone from his eyes! Rowyna looks up with satisfaction, staring at the blood trickling off her rapier to the stone floor, "One more soul for Norgorber, five to go!" She then 5' steps to N57.

Moment of silence for Chez (dead at -18 hps)...Since no one had harmed her and given her evil nature, I thought it was best to attack Chez and root out the weak. Also thought with that ridiculous 26 AC, best chance for missing. That 20 was a surprise! Guess the die rolls are in my favor so far! Actually, it's +7 damage when using a 2-handed weapon (+5 damage x 1.5 = 7.5)!

Rowyna gasps as the green-skinned woman's muscles seem to burst out of her clothes and armor and the 2-handed flail smacks into her ribs too quickly for her to dodge! The rogue priestess screams, as ribs crack and she coughs up blood! "How dare you strike me?!" she says, while wincing in severe pain.

I'll give Kowaru 2 more hours to post and then I will NPC him.

Your bloodthirsty Master of Ceremonies

Ok, time to move on..

Keeping consistent with his attacks so far, Kowaru moves 5' south to O57 and tries to grab Rowyna again and surprise, surprise, misses again: Grapple: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11..miss! That attack would have missed the ape as well!

When Kowaru misses, Rowyna vanishes and instantly appears in O56, now flanking the monk!

Summary of Round 2:
Rowyna killed Chez
Guts charged and hit Ialda
Ialda dealt Rowyna a hard blow
Aero shot an arrow at Rowyna but missed
Baolo shot an arrow at Rowyna but her shield against good deflected the arrow
Xarethi threw her spear and missed
Kowaru tried to grapple again and missed

Enemies' Turn Round 3:

The rogue priestess, still in shock over Ialda's blow, provides the flank for Guts, but concentrates on the green-skinned barbarian, whom she perceives as the major threat! She lashes out at Ialda's right shoulder but at the last minute Ialda realizes it was just a feint! The rapier punctures Ialda's left ribs and though in pain, she still stands! Meanwhile, Guts cannot deny the flank he has on the monk and grunts, as he pounds his chest and throws 2 heavy blows at Kowaru, breaking ribs and jaw, as the monk falls (-2 hps)! Rowyna screams "Yay Guts, 4 more to go!"

He doesn't even see Guts coming up behind him, only hears the beast's approach, turning at the last moment to see the creature's fists pounding onto his chest, shattering bone with the force of the impact. Seeing Rowyna teeter, Aeronniell looks about her companions in desperation.

"Xarethi! Use your magic! Finish her! An arcane bolt, a splash of acid, a bolt of frost! Anything!"

Guts easily clambers over the chairs in the southern part of the room, with his natural climbing skill, and moves closer to swing a punch at Ialda and connects, dislocating her jaw in the process and nearly taking out the barbarian but she refuses to fall, kept conscious only by her rage! Disabled at 0 hps!

A ghost smiles from beyond, feeling reassured that no one will be joining him anytime soon. He tries shouting out a cheer to urge on his former companions to victory, but alas they cannot hear him.

He notices a small disturbance in his ethereal realm, almost like a miniature portal. The ghost of Chez realizes this shimmer is shining from within Aeronniell.

Chez tries to tap into this magical energy and calls forth, "You can finish this my sweet Aerional!"

The ghost then feels a zap of energy on his shoulder. Chez looks up and sees he is not alone. This other ethereal being clearly does not look happy with Chez sharing his vessel.

Baolo'a arrow strikes the ape, but it was only a glancing blow and Guts still looks relatively healthy and angry now! Rowyna screams at Baolo, "You miserable coward! How dare you hurt my baby! You will die today, I swear it!"
