The brooch of shielding has 78 points of damage absorption remaining out of 101 for a value of 579 gold.

The bank note is redeemable for gold from the bank at Restov.

Oleg has an armored kilt in stock.

@Kivan Pearl of Power, yes or no?

@Sera You will be within your fair share.

I still haven't added the price for the gold nuggets, the clock and the certificate of deposit, which will grant each of us another 700 gold, minus the share for the wand, if it is here.

No one wants to consider the brooch so I believe I'll keep it, mostly as a token... *evil grin*

Ok, so is Idris saying she's just borrowing Bara's bow and leave her to fight with her sword. Or did you still want her to stay at the post while we take care of the Stag Lord? I'm good with it either way, I'm not sure if bringing her would scale the CR and make the fight harder or easier with her help.

@Pretty & Red - Ok, that works. We can make a trip when we've returned from dealing with the bandits to do some trading and I'll see about ordering a magic Armored Kilt then. ^_^

Oleg also has a buckler in stock for Maja. No greataxe, although he has several logging axes. Armor spikes require a blacksmith to attach them so he doesn't carry those.

When I posted that, I thought she would be staying here. If she's coming with us, take that back and give her the bow, and Idris will use the bow she took from the bandit at the start. With a +1 flaming arrow it won't make much difference anyway. (She's NOT giving those to Bara.)

A mithral breastplate wi' spikes onnit would would cost 4250, so it would surely have to be ordered, I'm sure. Maybe after we slay the Stag Lord and take his riches.

Ramage, please when you have time change the link for our gold sheet to this one. Google sheets improved and it seem they are stupid enough not to allow an automatic transference, so I made another one to access the new features. Nothing really meaningful, but still, the other one will be left to dust.

BTW I've added the Infernal Healing Wand for 937,5 gp, if that's correct.

I'm eastern standard (GMT-5) but I work 3rd shift (11pm-7am) seven days a week at a machine shop. I make landing gear for the Boeing 737, 787, F-16, and F-35 airplanes. I do most of my posting at work while my machines are running, or in the morning when I come home.

Ah! Graveyards! I worked them for several years in my early twenties and I swear I've been forever discombobulated since. But then I was sort of a night owl/insomniac before that anyway. *shrugs*

Central time here, GMT-6, but my posting schedule is almost never predictable beyond that I will be up around this time to chauffeur kids to school.

I found some visual aids for the mental image of Sera's noble dress. I was thinking something like this crossed with that, and for the turquoise necklace, I like the one pictured here. When you said sash, did you mean the kind that ties like a belt or hangs diagonally across the body? Or is it just a loose piece of fabric she can tie how she chooses?

I was guessing Aussie, myself.

So any ooc thoughts on Kivan's suggestion? I know we're waiting on hearing Bara's input, but I thought it might save time to give some input.

It's already been said they know our number and basic description, at least as seen from a distance, but if we make an effort to disguise ourselves well enough it might get us in the door at least. We'd have to act fast, which would make it tricky with trying to get them to drink the booze enough to be affected.

Loot Table || Knife Master 6 || Perc +8 | AC 23++ / T 16++ / FF XX | HP 49/49 | Saves F +3/R +10/W +2

In any case they would be focusing on us. I would suggest getting in by stealthy measures, but since most of our group lacks darkvision, it could be a problem.

Pretty honestly believes the Elf will mess it up since he have probably never been really close to women, but it's a good idea as any, if we make it work. Let the Stag Lord "offer" the criminal elf a room in his fortress so he could rob/kill him later (which will not happen since we would kill him first).

But hey, let's calculate that. You're a bandit, away from some decent women, taverns and beer for a long time now, almost like a pirate. Then you see a fragile elf with 5 fragile-looking women approaching your fortress. You imagine "hey, my lucky day", open the gates and call the others to get ready to kill the elf and rape the women on the first opportunity. Not that we could not handle, but that's too much of a direct approach, in my opinion...

Kivan doesn't have to be the one bring the women. I just think that reason would be good to get the door open. Then when it's opened we have someone who is invisible open the cage to the Owlbear. Let that create a distraction while we go after the Stag Lord.

Sera, the dress can look however you'd like. I'm no fashionista. I figured the little black dress is a classic, and picked turquoise to go with the red hair.

No such exotic homelands for me, I'm here in boring ol' ohio. The job keeps me in wierd enough hours, and to make it worse I'm going to school for my engineering degree on top of that. The results are in as to adding Attropos to the game. Three players voted yes, one no, and one ambivalent. Based on that, I'm going to go ahead and allow him to roll up a character and join in.

Attropos- your character should have some reason to be arriving at Oleg's trading post at this time. 20 point buy, 3rd level, 3000gp starting wealth. Two traits, having one from the player's guide is encouraged but not mandatory. Please write up a background like the other players have done, so I can work personalized stuff into the game. See the recruitment thread for other info, or go ahead and ask me.

Please have a little chat together to work out what kind of character is wanted/needed, and so we can get to know you.

On a completely unrelated note, Sera have you seen this feat? It might help out with the low number of acid damage spells.

Welcome Attropos! I'll second Pretty's vote on a strength focused build, but something you'll enjoy playing should always be the first criteria.

Ooh! A druid would mean more pets! Squee! ^_^

Heh, if it's a druid, I think I will be a wildshape druid (tempted to try a saurian shaman, but may just roll up a normal one). I see Idris has the Master of Many Styles monk dip already, so I am leaning towards a melee druid.

I look forward to playing with you all. As I said to Red Rampage, I joined these forums because of this game!

What would be the ruling on having an oni-spawn tiefling join the party?

The other character I was considering was a half-elf wild-caller synthesist (fits with the whole wild-shape idea), but most DMs I have come across are quite opposed to synthesists.

I have a saurian shaman with a dino companion in the PFS games I GM on these boards, and he is hands down the biggest damage dealer in his group. It's a pretty cool archetype.

Well, if he's human and shapeshifts, that will yet further prove to Kivan that all humans are just beasts in disguise! XD

Kivan, that does look like a good feat, I may work that into her build.

If anyone here have anything against tiefling they certainly hide it pretty well (aside from Kivan). But we are a rare sight on Brevoy nonetheless...

@Sera When putting that feat against the versatile evocation power of the admixture school, it's really not that interesting, I suppose...

Ok, I think I will be making a tiefling druid with the fiendish heritage feat then (if the feat isn't required to take oni-spawn, I'll switch it for something else). Rolling for the additional traits.

3d100 ⇒ (75, 63, 6) = 144

Edit: Oh snap, levitate!

F Human Fighter 4/Monk 1/Aldori Swordlord 1 | AC:22 T:15 FF:17 | HP: 24/54 | Init: +4 (+6 when holding aldori sword) | Perception: +5 | Fort:+8; Ref: +9; Will:+6 (+1 vs fear)

With Blood of Fiends, I don't think you need to take the fiendish heritage feat to have an alternate heritage. However, I don't think you get all those extra abilities either.

Loot Table || Knife Master 6 || Perc +8 | AC 23++ / T 16++ / FF XX | HP 49/49 | Saves F +3/R +10/W +2

I've never actually looked at those traits until now. Certainly there are some interesting things... I'm specially amazed with the one that lets you be healed by positive and negative energy... Never fear evil clerics again...

"In addition, you may roll on Table: Variant Tiefling Abilities three times and choose the most favorable ability." This means I get to pick one of the ones I rolled right?

I think that I'll still take the feat if so, levitate at will is pretty useful.

The only bummer about the extra traits is that you have to roll.

Background:

Background:

Jegred Volkov was born in Rostland to an immigrant mother from the far off land of Mwangi. Little is known about Rashla Volkov except she one day appeared in town, quite pregnant. Jegred was born a fairly normal lad, though his dark skin set him apart from the other boys. Rashla never told him who his father was, but as he grew older, he began to show more and more abnormal traits. At the age of six, his horns began to protrude from his hair, and his serpent-like eyes were no longer thought of as a genetic anomaly. During his early life, townspeople began to fear Rashla, accusing her of practicing dark magics, and cursing the whole town. They eventually burned her at the stake, and would have killed Jegred, had Rashla not cast a spell of invisibility on him and made him run into the forest.

Thankfully, his mother had prepared him well for this trial and taught him many things about surviving in the wild. He spent nearly 8 more years in almost total isolation, only surrounded by the beasts. He felt a great connection to the scaly-tyrants in the forest, and raised a spinosaurus from the egg, with the beast eventually growing into his companion. Side by side with his faithful pet Sicarius, Jegred grew to enjoy his life in the woods. He recognized the cycle of life, and even though he hunted to survive, he always thanked the animal spirits after he killed.

At 14, Jegred stumbled upon a town near New Stetven. He was almost killed like a predator who hunted the town's livestock, but mercifully, the town leader, Beorn Wildstaff recognized a fellow spirit and took him in under the wing. Jegred grew to trust some of the townsfolk, who, despite their initial shock and horror at his physical appearance and choice of companion, grew to accept Jegred, or at least tolerate his peculiarities.

Companions:
Beorn Wildstaff: Town leader and elder of Tarvin's Point. He is a fellow druid, and a mentor and father figure to Jegred. He perhaps understands the dark-skinned Tiefling the best, but he was also the one who encouraged Jegred to seek his fortune outside of Tarvin's Point.

Cratchus Stiffer: Charismatic inquisitor who rallied the town's people against Rashla. He does not know what happened to Jegred, but he is determined to put an end to Rashla's line. He is overly zealous, and views all Tieflings as abominations who must be slaughtered.

Erant Tecker: The closest thing Jegred has to an age-appropiate friend. He is a half-elf wizard currently studying in New Stetven. Adopted by a well-off family in Tarvin's Point, he still faced persecution because of his non-human ancestery and his strange interest in the arcane. Despite a 4 year age difference, Erant's elven heritage allowed the boys to advance into manhood together.

Appearance and Personality:

Image: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070529032952/forgottenrealms/images/1/ 17/Graz%27zt_-_Jeremy_Jarvis.jpg

Jegred is an attractive tiefling, if somewhat exotic looking. He isn't particularly adept socially, due to his life in the woods at an early age, and the persecution he has faced. He has pitch black skin, and snake-like eyes, and his head is crowned with horns. On his back is a curved greatsword, and he is clad in a suit of black-dragonscale. He is rarely without his spinosaurus Sicarius.
Jegred is slow to trust any humanoids, preferring mostly the company of animals who do not judge his fierce exterior. Jegred is gruff and quick to anger, but loyal once a person has earned his trust.

That'll be interesting! Canon!Golarion doesn't have a lot of dinosaurs near Brevoy, although there are some in neighboring Realm of the Mammoth Lords. Red might change that of course, if he feels like it.

Possible suggestion for alternative: Take the Growth domain instead of a companion, and be able to use an Enlarge person ability on yourself despite not being a humanoid. Add Shillelagh to a club and do 3d6+10 damage (+7 for two-handed strength, with +2 to STR from becoming large, and 3 more for power attack) which is very impressive.

Just a thought. Your current build would be very curious and fun to RP with.

I should also let you know that Idris will want to become friends with your dino. She loves reptiles. I haven't played that up very much yet, but she always liked to find lizards and snakes and keep them as pets when she was little, and she found the kobolds very appealing as friends. This would work very well with Sera becoming a Dragon Queen as well. I like it! :D

Idris is correct, you don't need to take the fiendish heritage feat in order to play a variant tiefling, but it does get you the random special abilities. Your build looks good.

As far as reason for being at the Trading Post, perhaps you're on the run from a band of The King's Men, the soldiers loyal to the Dragonscale Throne, currently commanded by House Surtova. A group of soldiers, led by a deputy of the realm was on its way to bring you in for questioning due to "suspicious activity". You got tipped off, and figured it'd be best to beat feet for awhile. Heading for the outskirts of civilization, where your attunement with nature would let you live comfortably while the heat died down, you come across Oleg's Trading Post.

Just a suggestion, feel free to adopt/modify/throw it out. Once we know why your character is here, we'll introduce you and the group will roll out to the stag lord's fort.

That sounds great Red! I tried fitting an emnity to House Surtova in because they seem like bad juju, but couldn't think of anything particularly creative.

Pretty, I made up Tarvin's Point, because the map of Golarion I found didn't really have smaller towns. I looked up the ages for Tieflings, but the onlything I found for pathfinder said they aged like humans. New Stetven definitely exists though.

Also, shinies are the best.

James Jacobs has said basically that in Golarion, Aasimars and Tieflings mature at the same rate as their mortal parent race, usually humans, so their starting ages should be the same. This is because several APs have been written with the assumption that if you have a human and an aasimar pair of siblings or half-siblings, they'll be maturing at the same rate.

They live as long as the ARG indicates they do, however, so if you want to use the ARG starting age, that just means that your character has been doing something other than adventuring for the first several decades of their supernaturally long life, and now has taken up the blade (or the bow, or the spellbook, or the holy symbol... etc.).

Pretty doesn't want to get old so soon... She will keep her age ^_^

And I know you are envy Idris... There's no point in hiding it... Just because you will be old and ugly when I'm still pretty! Life is not fair, right!? XD

I suspect Idris will die young, in battle.
