This is like waiting for Christmas morning, except without the devastating neurotic guilt about wanting too much.
Julian in or out of game we can always count on you for comedic relief.

Isham Tabouri |

Dagmar Ragnasdottir, Thane of the Kodiaks."
@Dagmar - did you notice that he just created you as minor nobility? Thane is roughly 'Baronette'. ('baron' is more frankish, 'thane' is very nordic) That's more than a knighthood, it's an actual Title.
At least for Isham, this is a Big Freaking Deal. I'm still rolling it around and trying to determine how Isham's going to react.
All Hail, "Lady Dagmar Ragnasdottir, 'Hand of Solace', Thane of Kodiak"
~~~~~~~~
ALLCON
OK, I'm working toward a group handle. Now that it looks like a fact moving back into history - and acquitted without undue disrepute - I'm thinking, "The Speakers of Savol Kodiakborn", or just "The Speakers" for short.
I think it works better than "Hydra Slayers" which ARC tagged us with a moment ago. I think "Wolfsbane" got leveled at Isham, and may stick on Julian (he's got a much cooler wolf-skin).
I haven't found a better thread of commonality among the group - "The Ambitious" probably isn't great. "Great Whacking Monster Slayers Are Us" probably not so good either.
Another option is to go aspirational - "Nation Builders", "Smiths of Nations", "Midwives of a Kingdom", "Herald of Galactus"
Thoughts, ideas?
Claws of the Bear or Kodiak's Claws?
Thorvald the Black Shield |
Yeah I caught that, you were both given personal sigils and titles as well as the house colors and you are wearing Savols personal symbols as well.
thane
Pronunciation: \ˈthān\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English theyn, from Old English thegn; akin to Old High German thegan thane and perhaps to Greek tiktein to bear, beget
Date: before 12th century
1 : a free retainer of an Anglo-Saxon lord; especially : one resembling a feudal baron by holding lands of and performing military service for the king
2 : a Scottish feudal lord
Isham Tabouri |
Bear Claws have raisins in them. I can't abide raisins (particularly cooked ones in pastries).
If we can all agree that Kodiak Claws have some of Thorvald's blueberries instead, then I'm all for "Kodiak's Claws".
Isham Tabouri |
@Dagmar - do you even need to ask about the nuts? I'm betting there are even flakes.
@Dagmar - You'd probably be acutely aware (and Savol just reminded you) that Savol stands in a role close to 'godfather' or 'loco parentis' to you, as well as your liege lord. If he is explicitly told about a possible suitor, he'd probably feel obliged to pass judgement - with potentially matrimonial consequences. You would probably also realize that we didn't quite cement an alliance with the Oakrun, and marriage of a Thane of Kodiak to Samuel of Oakrun might just seal the deal - which puts Savol in an uncomfortable conflict of interest. Just sayin'
@Thorvald - if we're to be a band, then the rest of you need to learn to play instruments. or at least sing - but if you're just back-up singers, you also need to dance.
Yeah, I wouldn't say anything, I would just let things play out. We might never see that dude again.
Yes Rutilux, we know your stallion is impressive. Growing - rampant. Much bigger than everyone else's.
:P <phhhbbtt>
You sure you want to encourage these metaphors when it has already been mentioned that Isham isn't very good at 'riding'? :)
Isham Tabouri |
@rutilux - I've been taking lessons. Running around with you lot has been very instructive. :)
. . I actually assigned a rank to riding this last level... I'm much less lousy than I used to be. Got my 'horsey legs'.
I can sell the quicken rod for 17.5k, buy an extend rod for 3 k and still have 14.5k left for shoes. As opposed to no money for shoes, if I go for the extend rod right away. Think of how many shoes you can buy for 14.5k gold.
Seriously though: ARC, if you didn't mean to give me a 35k magic item (in addition to the other stuff), I'd understand and go for something cheaper.
Don't forget to set aside a little for your hair and nails.
Anastasiya |
How much would it cost to teleport in my hairdresser from Absalom? (and to teleport her back, once she has done my hair and nails)
Dagmar: make poison. Lots of poison. And then give it all to Julian. Either telling him what it is or not. Both could get interesting.
