Settlement Information
Durngrist Station (LG research station/space vessel)
Population 4,291 (2,494 dwarves, 1,151 duergar, 208 humans, 166 warforged, 111 gnomes, 94 oreads, 67 other)
Durngrist Station is a marvel of dwarven engineering. Thousands of feet long, Durngrist Station used to be most of a mountain back on Golarion. Hordes of dwarven miners helped to separate the inhabited parts of the mountain from the ground, and mechanical telekinetic engines fueled by demons' blood lifted the thing into the air. The inside is kept warm and the atmosphere breathable with a mixture of endure elements and life bubble spells, enlarged to include the whole complex. Tunnels spiderweb near the "skin" of the station, connecting the different arterial sections of the ship. Some of the "veins" even venture to the surface, and these small rooms contain anything from an aristocratic viewing room to a massive elemental cannon, designed to fire globs of lava or arcs of electricity into whatever eldritch beasts might threaten the station.
The station is filled with many wonders. The massive central chamber contains a farm that feeds the entire station. Gentle pastoral roads wend through verdant and high-growing mushroom farms. A false sun flickers above, while druids and botanists tend to the acres of farmland. Near the fore of the ship is a gate, The Granite Gate. It has a permanent connection to the Elemental Plane of Earth, and dwarves enter in order to mine for extra supplies - anything from supplies to repair the ship to stockpiles of ore and stone with which to build the homes on their new planet.
Notable NPCs
- Ba'Ad Harzadoum (LN male old dwarf wizard (instructor) 15/mythic archmage 4)
Ba'Ad passed his 200th year before the voyage began, and he works tirelessly to ensure that his people have all the resources and the status that they need by the time his death comes around. He is eccentric and grumpy, but he takes on many apprentices, and is single-handedly responsible for the arcane prowess of some of the expedition's most powerful wizards.
- Dorna Golka (LG female old dwarf inquisitor of Torag 11/fighter 2/mythic guardian 3)
The Queen of the Golka tribe of dwarves, originally from the country of Brevoy. When war ripped that country apart, she bravely led her people south to meet her estranged husband, and together they've built a new future for the dwarven people.
- Melira Golka (LG female middle-aged dwarf wizard 4/bard (archaeologist) 1/Pathfinder savant 6)
The only child of Dorna and Ba'Ad, Melira is an explorer, scholar, and advocate for the people. She is a Pathfinder Venture-Captain, and plans to head up fact-finding expeditions on and under the surface of their new home.
- Ironbreast the Pure (LG warforged fighter (trench fighter) 3/paladin of Torag 7)
The very first of Ba'Ad's warforged creations, Ironbreast is the perfect example of what the mechanical race is capable of. It is the leader of all of the expedition's guardsmen, instructed by Ba'Ad to watch over the dwarven people while its "father" researches and creates new innovation.
- Jezzick (N half-orc wizard 3/expert 4)
Jezzick is an expert mechanic. He lives up on Durngrist Station, and heads up the legion of maintenance workers who do upkeep on all of the station's myriad of devices.
- Silas Greenfingers (NG dwarf expert 9)
Silas is a botanist, a farmer, and a political activist. He believes strongly in their mission, and his primary goal is to remove the dwarves from dependence on divine spellcasting food-creation.
- Calwin Foreverdoors (N gnome bard 4/rogue 2)
Calwin runs every tavern on the station, and he plans to run every tavern in the city they build beneath it as well. He does this through a special contraption that connects a doorway to his special demiplane - inside of which is his bar, Story's End. Adventurers can trade a good story for a drink and a room.
