Group A running the Kingmaker Campaign

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I want to start off by saying that I have never DMed a play by post before. I have played PBP on other forums, and am still learning all the mechanics on this formum (wasnt real good on the others either lol). I am still a fairly new DM but the groups around where I live have all fallen through so I am on here now.

I am looking for 4-5 characters that can post at least daily. I wrk two jobs and have a family and I know I am able to post at least once a day if not more. I am a pretty flexible DM as far as starting stats and stuff goes. I want to use 25 point buy-in 1st level characters. Max starting gold, and max health. I am okay with all core races and the classes from the core books (Player's Guide, Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Combat, and Ultimate Magic). If you want to be the ninja or samuria I will allow it but I want a REALLY good backstory of why that character is there. You can use up to two traits (only 1 from each category) but they MUST tie into the backstory.

I would like to see (in the post) your character backstory, specifically why they are in the area and a little bit of history about the character. Please don't give me a novel to read lol. All the traits in the Kingmaker Player's guide are good to use and if you need idea's for a character look at that resource as it is awesome.

I will close the post on 06/04/2013 as that gives me enough time to start working on creating maps on Google Docs. If somebody has a better suggestion for maps/combat encounters I am always open to suggestions. Thank you and I am excited to see some awesome characters.

Any questions feel free to PM me or post it on here. I will try to respond as soon as possible.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32

Would like to submit a halfling cavalier. Will post a build as soon as I have one ready.

Dotting for interest.

Only core races? Or would you allowed a featured race with the same requirements you have for samurai and ninja?

Shadow Lodge

I'll post a human ranger/cleric of Erastil when I get a chance.

I am also interested! I will stat up 'Lady' Rowan[a] de' Ruffeau, cross-dressing nobleman, exiled to the Stolen Lands before he brings any further dishonor upon his family (human fighter).

I would like to submit this character for the campaign. He will be an archery based ranger. Here is a little blurb about him. I am still working out the rest of his stat block, but some of it is in the alias.

Thomas Chambers is a tall and lanky human, who hails from Southern Brevoy, in the forests west of Restov. He was the son of a woodsman and his home was simple, but filled with love. He heard the call to arms to retake the Stolen Lands and has joined the expedition. He tends to be a little shy as he's not used to being in crowds. He has long brown hair that is pulled back at the temples and fastened with two braids, then hangs loosely at the neck. He has light blue eyes and has lines around them from squinting in the sun. He is quick to smile, often forgetting that serious times may require more serious attitude.

He will be taking the Rostlander Campaign Trait with the Reactionary Combat Trait. You didn't mention if you allowed archetypes, but if you do, I'd like to take the Woodland Skirmisher archetype, which is found in the Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Magic. If you'd prefer to stick with only core, that's fine, I am comfortable with core ranger, the Woodland Skirmisher (I believe it's named different in the Campaign setting) adds a lot of flavor for my backstory.

His ability scores look like this:
Str: 15 (+2) Dex: 17 (+3)(with racial) Con: 15 (+2) Int: 10 (+0) Wis: 14 (+2) Cha: 9 (-1) He'll have a bonus 1st and 2nd level spell, when he gets them.

Sovereign Court

I've made a character for this game. A human sorceress (Celestial Blooded) from Taldor. As for her background, here it is:

Kalima Raustald, was born the middle child of the Raustald family, a minor noble house in Taldor. She had a fairly modest lifestyle in her childhood, groomed to eventually be married off to some other noble house as tradition. What caused a crink in these plans was a sudden manifestation of magical talent, inherited from her mother's distant celestial heritage. The family quickly got her some training so she could hide her power and when she came of age attempted to continue with their plans to marry her off to the Laster family. Kalima however despised her arranged groom to be greatly and through the aid of her magic was able to knock out some guards with a color spray and then escape the estate.

She soon found however that life in the world was harsh and unyielding and to earn her keep, she had to take up the only career that would make her reasonable funds, adventuring. Having skill in magical abilities and some skills with weapons from observing fighting men at her household, she is now a rookie adventurer going the Stolen Lands to seek her fortune and make the best of her new found independence.

Appearance: Kalima has slightly tanned skin and brown hair and an attractive figure. She stands at a 5"8, with an average build and brown eyes that are fairly common color of the people of Taldor. She usually enjoys wearing finery whenever she can afford it. Despite her celestial blood, this is so distant that she shows no outward signs of this.

(My character sheet is attached to this alias, if you want to see my character info)

I would like to submit Vik for consideration. I can re-adjust his level and such to fit, but I think the background and such are good (He was in another Kingmaker game. Also I am running a Kingmaker campaign so I hope that this is not a problem...I am very good not to use player knowledge as character knowledge.
Thanks

Viluki I will allow it.

I will allow archetypes from the core books I mentioned above an as far as clerics I am okay if you would rather pick two domains instead of a deity.

When I get home I will check to see if I have access to that campaign setting on my home PC. I have my laptop with my but it only has the core books on it. I will PM you tonight when I get home, I am Central (US) timezone.

I'm thinking a halfling rogue currently... lots of Varisian flavor. Crunch and story coming soon.

What is your thought on the Filcher Archetype (from Advanced Race Guide)? It can be found online here.

Submitting this character (i will need to switch 1 trait tough)

all the info behind the pict

Still working on my character, but he should be ready tonight or tomorrow. Decided that I would go human instead of halfling so that I would be more useful now vs. later.

I am going Order of the Sword and hoping to use the Gendarme archetype from Ultimate Combat.

I would like to submit Beckard Cutler: Male Human (Vasirian) Fighter - to this campaign.

Background:
Born and raised as the only child of an aging farmer - Jon Rivers found that he was better suited for the sword and bow than the rake and plow early in his life. A wrong turn here and a promise there soon led to his many years of banditry - earning him an ill reputation and few friends among the peasants and merchants living too close to the River Kingdoms. His quick wit and tall tales made him popular with his gang of outlaws and he felt more at home with them than he ever did on the farm.

Though generally not violent, his gang suffered from a streak of poor luck and more arrests than usual - paving the way for a "change" in their leadership. Red-Jack Fowler had his throat slit open by Rylak "Bladetongue" Shaw (his nickname earned from a disturbing passion for letting his dagger do the talking for him), leading to a riot between those loyal to Fowler and those loyal to Shaw. The more ferocious outlaws sided with the latter, leaving many of the youngsters and non-violent brigands dead. A few lucky souls managed to slip into the night, though even fewer survived the nights that followed.

Jon made his way to New Stetven, though barely so and with his pursuers not far behind. It would seem that fate had dealt the young man a new hand, when he managed to slip aboard a caravan headed for Brevoy and seemingly to his new life. Word soon reached him of the swordlords issuing charters to adventurers to reclaim the Stolen Lands. The young man dyed his temples white and took the name Beckard Cutler; to hide from lawmen and outlaws alike, before he made his way to the charter-posts - hoping to enlist with the first group of adventurers he could find.

Personality:
Some would say that Beckard Cutler is a brute; as he is strong and somewhat unpleasant to those that don't understand the gritty humor some bandits sport. Even so, he is no villain - and has a big heart for those that can get past his rugged appearance and lack of manners. He's rather sharp and quick at telling a story or two - although he's a liar through and through.

Beckard carries the experience and aptitude of a bandit, having been one for quite a few years - and tends to mistrust those around him. He can also be a wildcard at times, as he easily values his own life over his companions.

Notes:
I am a new player, trying to get into my first campaign on these boards. If you wish to enlist someone more potent and experienced, that is fine by me. I am here to learn - either as a participant or an observer. Thank you for reading my post.

a question is the cabalist archtype for the magus acceptable? As i want to make a melee sorcerer but thats a bit err..."difficult". The cabalist archtype helps with those issues (story wise etc). The cabalist archtype can be found here http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/magus/archetypes/super-genius- games---magus-archetypes/cabalist.

Shadow Lodge

My character, Cern Hadron, is below.

Background:
Cern Hadron grew up on the outskirts of the northern reach of the Grozni Forest. At a young age he showed affinity for tracking and hunting. Once he became of age, his mother's uncle, a scion of the noble house of Medvyed, called upon his hunting skills. Not to hunt animals, but to hunt poachers in the House Medvyed forest preserves. Cern honed his tracking skills with knowledge of hunting man: leaf bent by boot print, a twig snapped from catching on clothing. Cern was in his element. It was during one of these outings that Cern came upon a wounded white stag. Cern had heard of the white stag as a herald for Erastil but had never seen one. Bandaging the wounded animal, Cern had unknowingly altered his future. Called by some internal force, Cern resigned from his job as forest warden and moved to Restov. He soon heard of a need to outdoorsmen to claim the untamed wilds to the south. This was his purpose in life.

Personality:
Cern is a man who thinks before he speaks, lest you remove all doubt as to whether or not he is a fool. He is proud of his tracking skills, often telling stories of his hunts as they pertain at the task at hand.

Look:
Short cropped black hair, blue eyes, wears earth tones. Studded leather, long bow, with sword at his side. His items have the markings of Erastil's holy symbol. He has a clasp on his cloak that IS a holy symbol of Erastil. (He will multiclass to cleric.)

That Archetype is fine with me as long as it works with the back story.

Unfortunately, not for that one, I do not like 3rd party stuff I am sorry.

them.

That archetype is fine with me as I was able to find it on pathfinder srd and its not 3rd party.

Wondering if you'd have room for a paladin of Erastil, a Divine Hunter archetype. If so, I'll get building.
He'd be a local to one of the rural communities in the south.

Very much interested.

Would you be ok with the Hunmaster archetype for cavalier, from Animal Archive? It's here

EDIT: In addition, how would you feel about a Cleric of Sun Wukong(the monkey king) using the Monkey Domain (next to a conventional domain?

I'd like to submit this character. Human Barbarian (Scarred Rager). Currently statted to level 3, easily regressed if he's chosen. Thanks!

About Myrdul White:

"Myrdul hates the magic and the Tycho. Myrdul makes good friend to friends, and terrible enemy to his enemies. You have an enemy to stomp, or a bully that don't go away, just get Myrdul and the problem will be gone away like a gopher smashed into his hole. Myrdul's hopes? Well Myrdul hopes to lead men one day, not like the tribes, but like the little men. With marching and turning and shouting together. Myrdul has fought against the small men who fight this way, and has seen it be good. Good as rain on hot day. Give Myrdul a chance, and Myrdul will achieve greatness! For Myrdul, and those smart enough to be close to to Myrdul."

He's a barbarian who's trying to be smart like the 'small men' (basically everyone who's not a barbarian) and knows that he must try to integrate himself into their society if he ever hopes to learn and be a part of their society. He's lost many men when attacking the smaller men, never able to understand how the tribe would lose against smaller, weaker foes. To gain this knowledge, which he believes will make him powerful, powerful enough to one day rule the tribes, he has forsaken the traditions of his people to remake himself -and this has led him to Brevoy.

Some really awesome characters thus far. Good luck all!

Here is my submission: Kearan the Short (ironically named). Crunch is in the profile, I just don't have fluff settled out yet. Should get that done tomorrow morning, if not tonight.

story:
Temerin was thrown out of his elven mother's house as soon as he could fend for himself which she judged to be age 8. He learned magic and swordplay by means of old tattered castoff spellbooks and training manuals. His ruthless determination to thrive and succeed have earned him grudging respect from many quarters.

The fact that he killed over ten guardsmen after having been insulted by them makes many leery of attacking or insulting him. Nor can anyharges be lid against him for he killed each guardsmen in a formal duel and as such he lies blameless. Still many judges want to have him charged with murder, the guardsmen seeing hi natural ability never tried to bring him to "justice".

Now Temerin ventures forth to seek honor and glory in war, his demonic blood urges him on to achieve ever greater feats of bloodlust. A adventure into the Stolen lands will sate his urges for a time, or at least he hopes.

note to GM:
This character is not LE if he were LE he would seek to enslave and dominate, Temerin wants glory and honor not wanton evil. Likewise he will not kill a helpless wretch, that is beneath him. However he despises cowards and those who refuse to defend themselves, their honor and their families.

Temerin is covered in red scales suggesting marilith ancestry and his eyes glow with yellow fury and malice. He is also bald, yet he walks with the regal might and authority of an elven prince.

Do you like gm?

@Song of Chiroptera: I def would love to see a paladin rolled for consideration.

@ Cuan: Both of those would be fine as long as you can give me a good backstory for the Cleric I like it.

@ Viluki: I like the character and his backstory

To everybody, there are some AWESOME characters and it is already getting hard to narrow things down. Please keep them coming and if you have any questions about something don't hesitate to ask I am a pretty easy going DM as far as inclusion goes (except for 3rd party stuff) and like to give my players freedom, within the rules.

a cleric (could be a cavalier instead)
a sorceress, a couple magus (magi?), an alchemist

Here's the paladin as promised, feel free to click the pic to get his details. He's an adherent of Erastil, following the faith of his parents. He specializes in the longbow, owing to his archtype of a Divine Hunter. -Song of Chiroptera

    Character Background
Shonden is the son of a farmer and cleric, growing up in a small community outside of Brunderton. His mother was of Ulfen descent and a cleric of Erastil, his father a native Rostlandi.

The small community of Lankemshire is only made up of 100 or so souls, but they do have a tavern in their midst that travelers on the road to Restov from Brunderton (mostly dwarves or those doing business with the dwarves) keep business relatively prosperous. Travelling caravans also do business with the local farmers (Shonden's father included) and keeps the small community from going under.

In his youth, Shonden took up the bow thanks in no small part to both his father (a skilled hunter) and his mother (a cleric of Erastil). It is from that combination that he answered the call of Paladinhood. A small shrine was erected to Erastil in honor of Shonden's mother's service to the community. She had passed away when he was 15, suffering a stroke in the night that took her mercifully quick.

The people of Lankemshire have a strong connection with Erastil in that they owe their modicum of success to the god of farmers and huntsmen.

Shonden's family has never been well off, most of their possessions coming from bartering and work. For most of his young life, Shonden has been raised on the teachings of Erastil; simplicity and service. Owing to that, Shonden served as often as he could with others in the community as a huntsmen and a guard for caravans moving to and from Brunderton. His skill with a bow and strong work ethic caused him to be in demand.

In the few months, Shonden has taken to remembering his mother by taking up her texts and learning more about his faith. Going so far as committing himself to the efforts in the south...for deep within his mother's stories there was tell of long lost temples and shrines to Erastil.

Cuàn here. The profile isn't done yet, but here's the background. Be warned, it's quite long.

    Background:
Many, many years ago a member of the noble House Surtova decided he had had enough of his family's scheming, plotting and secretive covert actions. The man picked up his belongings and gathered his servants and close friends and together they left Brevoy behind, never to be seen again. Unknown to his family or anyone back in Brevoy the man and his comrades managed to reach the land of Goka in far away Tian Xia and settled there. There he started a legitimate business, a tavern, and has stayed there ever since.

Now, many years later, his great-granddaughter has decided she wants to know where she came from.

Born Alerdane Satine, the surname her grandfather adopted to break with the past, she grew up as a little girl in one of the biggest and richest taverns in the city of Goka, which in turn is the biggest city in all of Tian Xia and probably one of the biggest on the globe. There she learned how to deal with drunk patrons at a young age as well as how to run a tight business. Something she did not have to learn though was how to develop an inquisitive mind.

It was this inquisitive mind that not only earned her the nickname "Monkey" but also allowed her to get her hands on her great-grandfather's travel logs. Being only 11 years old and just having learnt how to read Taldane, the language all their bookkeeping was done in, the stories were magnificent. They told of snowstorms up beyond the Wall of Heaven and fights with wicked beasts as well as how the seemingly terrifying yeti had offered them shelter during a blizzard yet drove them away once the weather had calmed down. What was most intriguing though was the story of her family's origin. Growing up in Goka with both parents born there Alerdane had assumed her family had always been there, yet this document proved that notion wrong. Apparently her grandfather was born on top of the world and her great-grandfather was in fact born in a distant land called Brevoy, where he had been a nobleman. The idea of her great-grandfather being a foreign nobleman was a fantastic one to her.

Over the next days she pelted her grandfather with questions about her heritage. At first the man refused, but eventually he told her all he knew, if just to be rid of her pestering. That way she learned why her great-grandfather had left, how he lost many friends during the trip and how her grandfather had changed their last name when he heard of the corruption of his noble ancestors. A decision made easier for him since he was only half a Surtova anyway, his mother, Alerdane's great-grandmother, being an Erutaki woman who originally was a stowaway on one of the wagons in the travelling caravan. To Alerdane these stories were wonderful and fantastic, though she did grasp the serious undertones her grandfather tried to make very clear. This however did not prevent her from dreaming.

As years passed Alerdane didn't really do anything with the knowledge of her ancestry. Instead she fully concentrated on her work in the inn. Her older brothers were very much interested in the business side of things, which left her free to mingle with the many patrons. Through them she picked up the faith in the Monkey King. They told her the tales of his tricks and this allowed her to finally put a face on the large stone statue of the god that had always been sitting in the corner of the common room. She started holding small ceremonies in which she invited the Monkey King to join them for a drink and maybe a brawl. She loved the attention this got her and her family enjoyed the extra clients that flocked to these ceremonies.

Things changed when her grandfather passed away. She had just reached the age of 18, her grandfather the age of 71. The man had passed after a short sickbed where Alerdane had attended to the old man whenever she could. His death however had caused her to reconsider the tales from both her grandfather's memory and her great-grandfather's logs. For long she considered travelling to Brevoy but her home had always been very dear to her and the trip over seas costly, as she did not want to go the same route her great-grandfather had after reading about it. Still she doubted if it was the right thing to do.

What changed all this was when her grandmother introduced her to the son of a wealthy silk merchant. She was to wed the man as it would be better for the family and supposedly for her as well. Her inheritance from her grandfather would form the dowry. This would, of course, also mean that she'd have to move out of the inn and into her new husband's estate. Shocked by what felt like the betrayal from by grandmother and parents, something they waited with for her grandfather to pass as he would have disagreed, Alerdane decided that now was the only change she ever got to leave and discover her roots. As such she picked up her goods and her inheritance and arranged for a travel by boat in the city's Undermarket as to avoid the spying eyes of her family. That night she left, leaving a note explaining her course of action and how she had to do this, that they forced her hand.

After many months at sea where she entertained the sailors with stories from the inn, stories about her great-grandfather's travels and stories from her own imagination they landed in the city of Absalom where she almost directly boarded a ship to the city of Almas in the nation of Andoran, but not before she bought a monkey of a species she knew from home, something to help cope with her homesickness. Not having that much of her inheritance left over after paying for the trip so far she decided to see if she could earn some coin as a bar room tailspinner, something she had done before. While travelling ever north using a route she planned on old maps found among her great-grandfather's belongings she earned either her stay at an inn or some extra coin by entertaining the patrons with the stories of her land, her family and her god, maybe even leaving behind some converts.

Eventually she reached the border of the Dwarven lands. At first confounded by the short stature, beards and dourness of the dwarves she soon discovered their love for drink and strong tales and as such her trip continued very much like it had before. Her route however changed, hearing of the political upheaval in Galt she instead decided to travel through the Elven lands. For safety she joined up with a dwarven trade mission heading for the River Kingdoms as the part of Kyonin they had to cross was known to be treacherous.

To the caravan leader's surprise the trip was very uneventful and they drop Alerdane off in the city of Pitax. From there it was only a short trip north to Brevoy, a trip she made accompanied by a cleric of a local deity named Hanspur. There travel was a merry one, though Alerdane was appalled when told about the ritual drownings the man's god demanded. They once again parted in the Brevoy capital of New Steven. This place was her destination, at least until she discovered where exactly in this country her family came from. It was here that she also heard of the country's expedition into the stolen lands along the southern border.

In New Stetven Alerdane made several attempts to contact her long lost family but was rebuffed time and time again. None had time for this outsider girl who claimed to have descended from one of the lost sons of the house. As far as they were concerned her great-grandfather had met his unfortunate end at the hand of some bandits shortly after he had left. It was then that she once again stumbled upon the request for volunteers to map and claim the southern lands. Figuring that if she helped claim these lands in the name of her distant family they could no longer deny her, she signed up.

As for class, I'm thinking of actually grabbing the Evangelist archetype for the cleric. In addition I'll likely multiclass as Martial Arist monk somewhere before the 5th level.

Ok, Vik is back to 1st level now...everything else looks good if you want to check him over.

Man, I waffled back and forth on the ranger or paladin. I picked ranger because I really love the class and it fit well with the story I wanted to tell. But I almost hit save on the paladin setup too..

@DM Cuc--I'll update the archetype in my character sheet. I should have had it done last night, but ended up with a migraine so I didn't get online last night.

I somehow missed the request to not write novels, so here is a summary of Alerdane's background.

    - Great-Grandfather was of House Surtova but was fed up with politics and his family and left.
    - He travelled over the crown of the world to Tian Xia and settled in Goka, where he started an inn
    - Alerdane grew up in the same in, now one of the richest and largest inn in the city.
    - Always been inquisitive as a youth, going many places she shouldn't. Nicknamed "Monkey" as a kid.
    - Discover her great-grandfather's travel logs and read them all while only 11 years old.
    - More or less interrogated her grandfather about his knowledge on their ancestry
    - Spent teen years listening to stories about the Monkey King and eventually became a priest

Lying has a kind of respect and reverence with it. We pay a person the compliment of acknowledging his superiority whenever we lie to him. ~ Samuel Butler

    Background/Personality:
Raucous, proud, and charmingly deceptive are the Brightonspinners. The dark skinned, wildly green-eyed halflings make up a large family of bohemian misfits dispersed throughout the lands of Varisia and beyond. While very few outside of halfling communities may ever recognize the name, anyone who meets such a halfling will hardly forget the experience.

Cappi is a Brightonspinner through his mother's side, and along with the unique practice of taking her surname he also inherited her family's personality in spades. His dark olive skin and black hair contrasts wildly with his white cheeky smile and unsettlingly green eyes. His clothes are a loose and kitschy collection of bright patterns, bold colors, and pockets; with his hair often buried beneath a kerchief or sash.

Cappi and his twin sister Calli were both members of Tasslewhack's Tremendous Troupe - a Varisian caravan that majored in entertainment, while minoring in chicanery. Every Brightonspinner, however, goes through a bout of wanderlust; and it wasn't long before the emerald-eyed sojourners succumbed to the itch. Driven by a desire to see the world, and acquire tales of impossibility, they make a name for themselves and propogate the fame of their family.

Cappi and Calli both took leave of the troupe a year ago, encouraged to return some day with fortune and prestige. Calli heading south to the Shackles, and Cappi heading east to Brevoy. It was in Brevoy that Cappi was taken in by, and ultimately hunted by the Six Dogs - especially their leader, Diego "Rottweiler" Harkins.

The highpoints, you ask? As this is not a tale, but merely a setup... are that: while Cappi's silver tongue and indelibly deft hands were initially a point of pride for the group, they also proved a source of enmity when the vagabond made off with a pouch of gems (which he quickly fenced for 100g), Diego's oldest bottle of Brandy, and the left side of his mustache. (Diego's distinctly curled mustache was quite the source of pride). Cappi lost the Brandy in a trade that assured his escape to the Riverlands, but still has the mustache in a small vial, where the wax still maintains the meticulous curl at the tip.

This voyage into the Stolen Lands is doubly opportunistic as he might escape his hunter, while continuing to pursue his prestige.

There is a passion burning within this halfling, as is in any trueblooded Brightonspinner. He likes to dance with abandon, laugh with a fullness that leaves one short of breath, skirt close enough to death to have a story worth telling (but save the britches), and prove people wrong.

No Brightonspinner stays at home for long, how could they?

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." ~ Saint Augustine

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32

I just realized that my character background didn't get saved....I hope I can make the second draft at least half as good.

I made this character with a 20 point buy but can easily adjust him if he is one of the lucky chosen. His background and personality are in his profile.

Briefly, Gerard is the oldest son of a minor noble family near Restov. He received a formal education as well as instruction in social graces, swordsmanship and sorcery also. Only the latter two subjects interested Gerard and he forfeited his inheritance in order to enter the Aldori School. Unfortunately for him, the masters of the school rejected him because they saw him as a talented dilettante whose lack of commitment to the sword made him unsuitable for acceptance.

Derakor Geralvi is a male human inquisitor of Kurgess.
6f2 / 1.86m, long dark blonde hair slicked backwards and sharp green eyes, muscular build.

Derakor is a young man who lives for the thrill of the hunt. He's a sportsman through and through, for his love for the game is bigger than his love to win. Don't get him wrong on that one though, for winning certainly is his goal and he's a sore but fair loser. Hunting is a sport normally reserved for the nobility and Derakor happens to be the offspring of a relative of a very minor noble scion of the Geralvi family. The Geralvi family hail from the Gronzi Forest and their possessions are minor, at best.

Derakor is 19 years old and learned how to hunt from one of the best masters of the hunt in all of Brevoy, Ericqal of Lestos. Eric, for short, serves House Medvyed and Derakor was assigned to him because his talents were spotted at an early age. He's a great huntsman for his age. If he were to become the master of the hunt for House Medvyed one day, he'd gather a lot of fame and reputation for his own family. But Derakor is always one to find challenges in life and the call for adventurers to venture south into the Stolen Lands sounds like the perfect opportunity to make a name for himself and do his family and mentors proud. Now is Derakor's time and all of Brevoy will soon know who this mighty huntsman of Kurgess is.

He was raised by his parents and has one younger brother and three younger sisters. All of them are still alive and reside somewhere within the Gronzi Forest. His father is a local strongman for the baron and ensures that the village surrounding his meager estate pay their taxes and send men when war is near. Derakor killed a deer at the age of thirteen and soon after got taken in by Ericqal for training. Tension has been high in Brevoy though and Derakor also had to don armor and spear for his House, but has yet to take a human life.
He's a cheerful fellow blessed with good looks and is the kind of man who gets along with everyone. Ever quick to flash a smile, he almost seems too gentle to live the life he leads.

    Important stats:
    Inquisitor 1
    STR16 DEX12 CON14 INT14 WIS14 CHA 13
Gear: Spear and javelins, heavy armor and ye standard adventuring gear.
Feats: Heavy Armor Proficiency + Intimidating Prowess.
Skills: Survival, Swim, Climb, Acrobatics, Intimidate, Stealth and knowledge skills.
Trait: 1 Nobleborn of Medvyed - Endurance Overcomes All, +2 diplomacy with fey and a +1 on will saves to overcome their spells and supernatural abilities. 2 armor expert - lessen the ARP from armor by 1.
Tactics: Debuff through intimidate, deal damage in melee and use spells for healing and skills for utility.

Additional note: I was first thinking of a cleric, but depending on the group I can always change his class to that if the group needs it. If the group requires a more tanky character, he'll simply start using a 1h spear with a shield. If the group needs a dedicated ranged character, he'll simply use a long bow. It's a first draft and I always like to adjust my characters a little to the group - as a gesture of good will to them and to accomodate the basic tenet of RPGs, teamwork :)

My alias is up to date now.

Also, Nirmithi Regular is what Hero Lab calls the Woodland Stalker, that way I can have it figure all my bonuses and such.

I updated my profile page. I need to buy his gear, calculate all the weight and note down skill modifiers, but otherwise it is as good as done.

Depending on whether I get in and what the group will look like, I might change a feat or swap some stuff around a little, but 'this' is the idea I'm going for and that I like :)

*whistles a catchy little tune to pass the time*

Really thinking about bumping up the deadline as I am getting ancy myself lol. The only thing that is preventing me is making the damn maps for encounters as I have never done it before lol

    Sovereign Court

Looking forward to the result, wether Beckard Cutler is picked up for the campaign or not.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, putting together maps gets frustrating sometimes. They're really only needed to understand placement though, so the aesthetic doesn't bother me much if GMs go for the extremely simple route.

If you're going the extra mile to really get the look down, that's awesome. But that's just icing on the cake sometimes.

    For resources:
pyromancers.com is a great site for creating some really great looking grids, if you have the time to play around with it.
And Google Docs is great for hosting maps that everyone can see. Just link to the document in the gameplay thread.

I'm sure there's many more, but I'll get ya started with a couple.

Oh! And a link to more links :)
