Well thank you both for applying. It was not a very easy decision, as both of you were basically making the same character, but with different focuses. I have made a decision, the that will be for Damen. I was mostly his background that I thought I could blend into the story a little easier. I'm applying for a position in this game. I am a friend of Kent Unsaid irl. He mentioned that the group was missing a player and I thought I would put in my application for a spot.

Rangnar is a guru traveling far and wide is search of a location where he can teach his disciples in the way to enlightenment. Rangnar found enlightenment one day while training with with his master. His master fractured his skull with a mighty blow, and when he awoke he found the world and the actions of those within it made perfect sense.

Ok, looking for 2 new players for an ongoing Kingmaker game. The play is light on kingdom building and more focused on the adventure.
Requirements:

5th level
HP-Max 1st level, then average +1 each level after
Base Characters only (or a really good reason why I should let you play anything else)
Base money for your level and I will provide 1 magic item for your character (will work with player to get them something good..lol)

What about the bard archetypes such as archaeologist and thundercaller? Plus: what about Aasimars?

We had a bard archaeologist for awhile, but he left. I could possible swing an Aasimar, if you wanted. archetypes are ok, depending on the bas class they are trying to use...so that would work for me.


Creating a bard archaeologist with a whip and an Indiana Jones feeling to it :)

Ok, I am very interested, however I am not quite sure what your party needs. It seems the one thin you guys are missing is some divine casting, however I hate clerics. I would love to build a druid, and feel like it could be a strong addition to the party as it stands. Thoughts?

I think a druid would be a good addition as well, since they have a lot of versatility.

Ok well I will definitely be building a Wizard for the increased utility, in regards to the character am I allowed to select any traits.

You may take one campaign and any other common trait....ie. Not part of another AP


Here's what the current group consists of for those thinking of joining this game:

*Female human Fighter: Archer build, capable of melee fighting but not preferred

*Male human Ranger: Also an archer build, with an animal companion who can assist in melee

*Female human cleric: strong face skills and healing, but not a melee'er

Could Use: Arcane spell casting, trapfinding, melee combatants

Don't need: ranged combatants, face skills, divine spellcasting

Well with that update, I may instead play a cavalier because I love them, and feel that they fit well with the campaign. He will be a sole melee combatant who charges things until they die.


A cavalier could work nicely IMO. We could still use a wizard (for most Knowledge skills and arcane spells), but a dedicated melee combatant is at least as important in my book.

Hmm okay, well how soon do you want it, because I know at the latest it will be sunday evening, but if we need to start it earlier I can make time? I think I will go with the wizard because I haven't felt the arcane dominance they provide in a while. I Am leaning towards evocation cause I love casting those blast spells. Unless anyone has an objection I think I have a character to build.

no you were noticed and I went over your character...but it might be a little too "much" for the basic feel I am going for. I was going to write you back and see if you were interested in a more 'simplified' character...and as you can see we are looking for fighter, arcane magic user or a rogue....if you are still interested, then please submit a character!

I'll make a melee combatant for consideration, perhaps a ranger(trapper archetype) which will cover 2 of your needs or alternatively an Archaeologist bard built like a front-liner (again covering 2 needs). Since Flynn is submitting a mage I will pro bally go with the ranger. Either way I should have something up by Saturday morning.


Daniel, I had in mind to play a Bloodrager for this one, but I thought I'd ask anyway - when you say only base classes are allowed, do you mean Core + Base, or just Core?

Hi Daniel - is there any point in me resubmitting my Varisian rogue sniper at 5th level? He was proposed in the original recruitment, on the first page. I do note though, with two archer types already in the party a third might be pushing things too far into Merry Men territory.

Hi Tadpole...sure go ahead and put him in....we would prefer a "upfront" fighter type, but being a rogue is a bonus...as we have had no one post with one yet.
I will nor be making this decision alone...the rest of the party will also be taking an active part in this recruitment...

Hi Albion...I would prefer just core and possible archetypes, but I will look at a base calss as well if it seems to fit. Remember we are looking for a rogue, arcane magic and/or a front line fighter, so if you submit one of these you are sure to get on the short list!!


Thanks for the quick response Daniel - my go-to idea in that case would be a 'frontliner Bard' (crazy I know)

But since the group does not need face skills, and seems to be wanting roguish/arcane, I'm actually considering playing an Arcane Trickster :)


One question Daniel - would you allow early entry unto Arcane Trickster from SLA (tiefling -> Darkness in this case)?


Won't the arcane trickster have no spell casting to advance then.

Hi Daniel, does this mean we can spend our 10,500 gp as per normal and get an extra magical item from the DM, or that we should spend the gold on non-magical stuff only, and get one magic item from the DM?

Oranna was the product of a raid gone on a small village. Her mother was human, a slave to an orc warrior whom died in battle two day after her birth. Oranna's mother would die from birthing her, leaving her alone. She would grow up quick under the tribal orcish ways, going on to hunt and raid outlying villages. Yet disdain of her mixed blood from her tribe brought no peace to her.

It was one day she decided to run away, as far as she could, and to try and find purpose in this world.

Human Ranger (Trapper/ Falconer Archetypes), He is a front line combatant and the Trapper archetype gives him the rogues trapfinding ability. (this helps fill two of the parties needs) The Falconer archetype is just for flavor as the family crest is an eagle and thought it might be nice to have an eagle companion. I also tied my background to Svetlana's, I hope it makes sense and works. regardless, good luck in your campaign.
