Male Half-orc Inquisitor/6th, AC 21, 55/55 hp

just realised I hadn't rolled my HP

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Hey Davor, we're going with Half + 1 on hit points.

@Servayn: Fire damage from Ember?! Man, that's just awesome! That creature just gets badder and badder! I'm glad he's on my side! :)

Yeah, that's an insanely good evolution (would have been for the troll fights, especially, but you need to be 5th for that one, and we were still 4th). It's not as thematically appropriate as I would like (breath weapon would fit better), but I bit the bullet and picked it for mechanical efficiency over theme (and the breath weapon evolution really kinda sucks).

It'd be even more scary if I bothered to give him a 4th natural attack, like he's supposed to have had for a couple levels now. :)

Also scarier if tactically inept me remembered to have him Power Attack. A -2 to hit and +4 to damage on that last attack sequence probably would have added 12 damage to the total (assuming the three that definitely hit still would have hit).

ahh looking back I only found that we were discussing it, but no 100% if it had been decided or not.

Please note I probably won't be able to post from Friday to Monday.

AC 24 (25) HP 30/30 AP 8/8

I know you keep asking for end squares, but I have a real difficult time with the two dimensional maps, as I'm often posting from my phone etc. It's becoming obvious that this game is too strategic combat placement for my enjoyment, so I'll respectfully withdraw. I will never take the time to place my character where he is supposed to be, and feel that this is better served for a table top game.

Nothing against your GM'ing...it's great, I'm just not interested enough in the strategy side of RP'ing to do so.

Good luck all you guys, and hope to game with you all in the future.

Steve

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Wow. I sure didn't see this coming. Wow.

Really hate to see you go, Scranford. Kriger really likes ol' Janku. No one's kept Kriger alive better than him. ;)

Well. Crap. This stinks. Now what?

Sorry to see you go Steve. I really am. You've been a great member of the team. I really enjoyed Janku as a character and you'll always be welcome if you change your mind.

As for Javell's question: it's up to us to decide. Thoughts?

Wow. I have to say, I am pretty shocked. I'm not sure what to say. I love the campaign and the characters in it. I am certainly game to find a way to keep going, but I understand if others don't feel the same.

AC 24 (25) HP 30/30 AP 8/8

Just to make it clear, I'm not upset with anyone, and have had a great time playing this game with you guys, I'm just not into the strategic movement thing. Even in real life we've switched to more Castles & Crusades, and DCC to get away from the strategic movement part of the game.

I don't mind playing it on the tabletop, because not only is it 3D you have other players and the DM saying things like "You can't see them from there", or "That will invoke an AoO". In PbP to me this is just to difficult for me to grasp. And really slows down the combat, because people have to constantly adjust their actions.

I apologize if this leaves everyone in a bind...feel free to DMPC Janku as you wish and recruit a replacement...I just find myself "dreading" my turn in this, because I have to figure out where my character is and where he's going.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

"Dreading" your turn truly is not fun. I found myself in that very situation in another thread(different set of circumstances but it still equaled no fun) and backed out myself. So, in a sense, I understand where you're coming from, bro.

I echo markofbane's thoughts. I'm willing to keep on truckin'. I do think we are gonna need other player, though.

Could we go on with an inquisitor, ranger and paladin to heal? Perhaps Janku returns to Providence to let them know what we found and eatch over the realm while we are away?

That could also leave the door open for Steve to pop back in (if he is willing) for in town RP opportunities and pass on the elements of travel and dungeon/wilderness crawls.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

We can but Kriger is gonna need some type of healing during combat. A ranger and paladin just ain't gonna get it done. At least in my opinion.

I am waiting for Servayn, and Davor to post in the IC thread.

Also, as it looks like the consensus is to recruit, if anyone of you wishes to bow out, now is as good a time as any, as I'll put up a thread for recruiting.

Please note that, starting Thursday, I will have very reduced access to Internet and might not be able to post, or not so often, for a week and a half.

Recruitment is up. Please let me know if you have thoughts on the subject, preferably through PM.

I'm far from computer, so I won't update until next week.

Still no news from Davor?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

As per recruitment: Will do.

As per Davor: I got nothing. RL I guess.

Male Half-orc Inquisitor/6th, AC 21, 55/55 hp

I didn't realise you were waiting for me, couldn't see at any point to post.

I admit I've also not been too enthused in the game so I'm going to bow out and let someone else take my spot. Been a great group.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Okay. It appears we are losin' folks left and right.

You fellas want to add another or just go with the 4 we got?

At this point, I'm good either way. But with Kriger continuously hitting the dirt, I would probably be more swayed in adding another. :P

But I can roll with whatever.

Ok Davor, thanks for letting us know. Best of luck.

I'm ok with giving it a go with four players. If you all prefer, I could also recruit for an arcane caster, but we could see how it goes first.

I think I would be good trying with four. We've done okay so far with Servayn as our arcane representation.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Sounds good. I like DW's "see how it goes first" idea. I think that's a good way to roll.

So, a ranger, a paladin and a summoner, eh?

Well, I guess I won't have to hit much stuff...

Hello everyone, I'm your friendly local cleric of Sarenrae.

Welcome to the game! We look forward to getting Malswyn worked in.

Cheers, just been reading the gameplay thread and you're in a tight spot.

Can't help but think that one invisibility spell would make Ember into an impressive wilderness scout.

An outdoor campaign like this makes me imagine a druid (or animal=domain cleric with boon companion) riding around on a roc companion. The best I can do is summoning a celestial dire bat... actually, that's pretty cool!

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Sorry folks, the Olympics has got most of my attention. I thought I'd be able to keep up but it appears I won't. Once they're over I be back to normal.

I'll be away until monday.

You've been very quiet for a week. Is it a Gencon effects, or something else? Please let me know.

I think it might be summer in general, and Gencon doesn't help. I am involved in more than half a dozen pbp games on the Paizo site and all of them have been experiencing a lull over of the past couple of weeks actually. I think once we integrate our new team member and get a little further on in the year things will get back to a good pace with the game.

Been working odd hours, so I tend to log on after work and reply to what I need to reply to, and then head to bed. I'll try to be a bit more proactive instead of merely reactive with the posting.

Suggested ad hoc houserule: Composite longbows with Str bonuses can be adjusted up to that strength bonus. Changing the Str setting takes a full round action, and it stays that way until changed.

That way, anyone can use a Composite longbow (Str +4), but you can only profit from the Str you have. Thoughts?

Please note I'll be away until Monday night. I'll have very very limited access from time to time, but don't expect much.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

So, what you're saying is, if the bow has a +4 rating, you can adjust it down to, say, a +2? And if you want it set back to +4, you just re-adjust?

Sounds cool to me if I'm understanding it right.

That's it!

Based on that, I think it sounds like a good house rule. I think it will be good to see how it works; I doubt it would be unbalancing in any way. Still, I'm reluctant to stop using the Stag Lord's bow to take up this new one in its stead.

Would you make it an action type to change the strength rating, or would it have to be out of combat? Say, a minute to unstring and restring it a new strength? Is this option only with magical bows, or can you pay to have this option with non-magical bows? Or is it a new feature of a masterwork bow?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

OM stated it to be a full round action. If you look a few posts up, he has it in bold.

All composite with a strength rating would be thus.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I just gotta say, DW, I totally love the Ford truck and the Bulette being in the same pic. That's just greatness! I was trippin' out on that one!

Hm. I wonder if we can purchase one of those with our gold. You know, it'd be a lot easier to get from one place to the other. I'm just sayin'. ;)

Please note I'll be mostly away from a computer from Thursday night to Monday night.

Yeah, that was a nice picture!

I have updated the Campaign tab with the new loot collected. Let me know what you take from the loot so I can assign it. I think Kriger took the bow, right?

Please note I'll be away from Friday until Monday, with limited or no access to a computer.

Very interesting post.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Christmas time is my busy time of the year. Until after it's over, my posting is gonna be hit and miss during the work week. Just fyi. Will try to keep up as best as possible but if not, DMPC me as needed.

I'll be away for a few days. Should be back Sunday night. Probably no internet.

Thanks! I am thinking we are really going to need it... I should be able to get that done today.
