In all fairness, I was going to snark on that myself til I saw i'd been beat to the punch.

Eben races through the door and around the corner, ready to shoot. He blanches at the sight of the eyeball pile in motion. That's just something that no amount of description will prepare you for.

The Faceless One squirms ineffectually.

The mound of bloody severed eyeballs seems to form two stretched-looking giant hands. Astraden realizes the eyes have been sewn together by a single shimmering thread.

The hands reach up and pluck the two shortswords from the table.

Astraden AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Astraden stabs the eye creature as it grabs them.

Its center starts to tremble, eyeballs moving as though something larger is "boiling" to the surface.

Six seconds. The PCs are up.

From his mounted position, Tanith continues to brutally man-handle the Faceless cult leader beneath him, alternating between clubbing blows to the head and knees to the gut.

If we're going to have to fight the thing anyway, it makes sense to pile on the damage while it's busy assembling itself.

I just have the sinking feeling that considering our squishies are standing right next to it, it's going to roll over the both of them as soon as it wakes up. And I somehow doubt the dice are going to cooperate with me. I think if nothing else it would be better to lead it out into this more open area where we can surround it, or trap it in that doorway where it would be forced to squeeze. You know, I'm actually gonna put that bit in character it makes sense for something Farrukh could think up.

"If we're going to fight this thing, bring it out here so you're not trapped up next to it! Maybe we can even trap it in this doorframe, at least for a bit!"

I very much doubt it'll one hit me from full health; next round I'll withdraw if necessary, but I'd rather get in the extra shot now while it's vulnerable.

Eben stands his ground, firing arrow after arrow into the thing, only moving back slightly as it oozes forward.

Yeah that was my plan, Farrukh and Tanith.

Astraden stabs for the heart of one of those eye-hands, then backpedals as the creature stands. She swaps her rapier to her off hand and draws her crossbow.

Rapier attack (two-handed): 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 1 = 13
Damage (two-handed): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Lose my shield bonus.

Edit: Let's say this happened before Eben's action so he can maybe not have to deal with cover. Does that circle thing in the middle of the room grant it?

I was worried less about it one-shotting you and more about it Grappling (or potentially, as blob creatures tend to do, Engulfing) you.

Finally free of the webbing, Cuetzpalli runs around into the room where his friends are. He sees Tanith owning the Faceless One, and so heads for the giant eyeball thing instead. "KORD!" he screams at it.

Spiny continues to struggle against the oily pillar hands. He finally escapes, and goes to join his master.

The Faceless One makes one last attempt at defiance, but it's no use.

Tanith is just too heavy.

However, at that very moment, the mass of roiling eyeballs produces a massive "head" from its center: An enormous eyeball the size of a watermelon.

It shudders, gripping the two shortswords—like daggers in its stretched-looking "hands".

"Kill them!" the Faceless One howls. "Avenge your creators! Kill them all!"

The tremendous creature turns to the party, central eye glowing faintly. It stabs forth at Cuetzpalli, but it's still sluggish, and he dodges out of the way.

Attacks: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 131d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Also, gaze attack. At the beginnings of your turns, each of you must make a Fortitude save—Farrukh is immune to this, and Zalamandra is out of sight. Eben's shot hits, but the Eye's thread seems to have developed a strange sheen to it, and the arrow inflicts only a minor wound. Still, the repeated attacks before are clearly taking their toll—the construct is already breaking down.

Sorry, I went to bed early last night.

Fort Saves (Spiny;Cuetz): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 261d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Easily resisting the effect, Cuetzpalli takes a swing at the creature.

Greataxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

But The Eye twists out of the way.

Spiny rushes to join his master, squeezing by the cauldron without trouble thanks to his narrow frame, and snaps at the monster.

Bite (PA; heroism): 1d20 + 8 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 - 1 + 2 = 17

But he suffers similar ill luck.

Round 9.

The Eye stabs, splitting its attacks between Spiny and Cuetzpalli.

I believe KC rolls my disguise check secretly. I think I just take the different gender penalty? And the golem probably gets to count itself and the FO as at least "close friends." My bonus independent of circumstances is +20.

Eben resists another sweep of the Eye's debilitating gaze, and, seeing what Astraden is up to, lends a magical hand. Pausing in his (less than lethal, at this stage) arrow assault, he pulls a bit of fleece from a pouch, and, one-handedly stretching it into a gauzy screen, says "And see only what I want you to see..." And just like that, a wall, matching the other walls found in the sanctum, fades into view directly behind Astraden, blocking Tanith (and, more importantly, the unconscious form of the actual Faceless One) from view.

Round 9
Standard action: cast silent image.

Heroism lasts 484 rounds on Spiny and 485 on Tanith, cat's grace lasts 36 rounds on Eben, silent image lasts as long as I concentrate on it.
