for those who are wondering, the moment where Gringe got intense was her old self(the white dragon past life). it will pop out whenever she needs to be serious.

I don't mind the rate of posting so much, I have seen slower, but I gotta say my heart just isn't in this one (not yet, anyways). I was giving it a chance, seeing if things would pick up with Val, but I'm seeing a recurring pattern:
1. NPC's are unresponsive. They barely interact with us, they don't answer questions; and our direct questioning, conversation, odd behavior, even our actual skill checks aren't netting us any feedback. Nothing we've said or done has made any impact.
2. With every major update so far, we've only been given brief paragraphs that tell us where our characters are going, what they're doing, and why they're doing it. I'd like some input on that, please, it's the meat of the game and we're skimming over it.
I understand the importance of moving things along, but those two things are essentially why I'm playing. All I'm left with is being teleported to the next combat encounter (it's disorienting). I do not want to have my hand held and be dragged through a campaign.
So, I apologize if I come across as overly critical, And I realize we're still only on page one, but I'd rather put this on the table 50 posts in, rather than 500, right? We've got 5 creative players here who are bouncing off each other and revealing depth and motives, and getting some fun quips in and asking questions and investigating/exploring the world, there is no shortage of material to work with so it frustrates me when any post not between us gets ignored. IDK. I don't want to be disrespectful, but I need to get some sort of gauge on whether or not we can get a good creative groove/mesh going here, because again, it's better to find out about game-breaking creative differences 50 posts in rather than 500.
(ALSO- unrelated to that, I'd like to apologize for how I'm playing Max as well. I was hoping to get sort of a slower boil, to build some trust, but he's been feeling pretty antagonistic (blocking) so far, and that's hard to play off of, I know. I'm torn between;
-Yes, of course I wanted max to go on a great adventure, that's why I submitted him.
-His character dictates that he would have not in his current state agreed to any of this.
I was hoping (and am trying) to build up some better motivation for him, and again, develop a trust with his team mates. I'll do my best to make his interactions more constructive without feeling unnatural)

That's fair criticism, this is my first time running PbP, so struggling to find the right balance to keep the story moving while interacting with the characters. I'll keep trying, and please don't feel bad form complaining, with out feed back I can't improve.
in that case, i have empathy, every game I DM on PBP is super slow or lacks depth... mostly because I'm used to IRL play.
