As the dwarf closes in the Nightwalker smashes him in the chest with a massive bladed claw.

Bright purple flashes of lightning from the raging storm outside flicker through the gaping holes left by old siege damage, diffusing among the stirred dust of this chamber. Stacks of sundered black stone litter this room, a testament to damage
wrought on the tower in ancient days. Little else remains.

As you climb up, Markus suddenly notices an incredibly intricate network of thick black webs choking the room above them. As the lightning flashes he sees hundreds of wicked looking blades suspended in the webs.

Markus holds up his hand as he stops and makes sure no one else moves. He then takes a closer look at the webs, seeing no easier way out of it he whispers to the others. "Get down low."

Then with a wave of his hand, the brick stairway extends over them. He stars to shape it to form a roof over their heads. Then taking out a gold coin throws it up at the webs.

This seems really messed up - But I'm using stone shape or even stone wall to place a roof over us and then hitting the web and seeing what happens.


With the protective covering over them, the gold coin spins through the air and slices through the delicate webs. In an instant the tower is filled with the sound of clashing steel as a hundred blades rain down in a sudden deluge of death.

But thanks to Markus' quick thinking, the situation is no longer dangerous.

The group climbs up the stairs further, ast the stone roof created by their Desnan priest and into the room.

Markus can see the aftermath of his plan as sheets of thick web lie over every surface, interspersed by hundreds of blades.

Sitting on the roof of the chamber, out of sight of the stairwell, is an immense purple spider. It has a legspan of nearly forty feet and a hideously bloated body, yet still moves with fluid grace.

Emerging into the room Jon suddenly feels his magical protections being stripped away and he curses
there’s something or someone here, I can feel them dispelling my magic he says looking around the dark room and as Marks suddenly calls out his warnings Jon follows the Desnans pointing finger and sees nothing

Jam, wouldn't the thing become visible after targeting us with Dispel Magic?

Good Hope is dispelled from both Morbar and Caradwen...

Jam, Caradwen can see the creature with Echolocation? Is there access to reach it? If not, is there acceess to get at least 30' from it? If so, Caradwen grabs Morbar's arm (still invisible) pulls him to 30' of the roof, and casts Jester's Jaunt to get him on the spider's face.

I don't think Morbar has the slightest chance to detect the invisible thing, so he just swings whatever...

"Ok lass, let's see!" - he roars after the arcane spell places him uptop, swinging wildly.

Damage if it hits: 6d6 + 33 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 6, 5, 1) + 33 = 52

Oh man.... I wish...

Additional damage if it hits: 2d6 + 2d6 + 29 + 29 ⇒ (5, 6) + (6, 1) + 29 + 29 = 76

Cara, it wouldn't become visible if it's under Greater Invisibility. Also, can you and Morbar fly? When I said this thing is on the roof I meant on the underside, it is sticking to the ceiling

Damn... Obviously none of this works if the creature is on the ceiling...

In that case, Morbar looks for a place to hide from the spider's attacks, preferably away from the others. If there is none, maybe retreat until he is out of sight.

Caradwen casts Mirror Image and also retreats some if possible - don't want to have us all packed...
