I also use plot-based leveling. I do kinda track xp to have a rough measure of when a level is "due", but being under or over by an encounter or two is no biggie. My players also don't know when it's due, so they don't know the difference. ;)

I'm also going to go ahead and admit that I'm thrilled to already have a party member openly not trusting me. Hats off to you, Itzal. Though if you let me out of your sight I might have a full-blown Lamashtan revival going on by the time you get back. :P
You can trust me not to betray the party. Youall are the Firstborn, the closest thing he has to friendship. Not that he would ever openly admit that.

"Tiduk! Make slower steppies! My legs are not fast enuf to catch you! Preet tries to catch up, running sort of like a penguin."

-- I totally saw this imagery, and LOVED IT. I'm that you arrived a moment too late to have a hand in taking out the sentry, am glad Tsao had it in hand or this entire scenario might have unfolded differently. :D

I'll miss Preet when you finally decide to devour him from the inside. :D

Let me know when youall are in position. I'll try to bluff the pants off of Mum and the Brute. Mum's really the one I'm more worried about. If the others Aid my bluff, I should be able to pull it off.

May the silver tongues win!

Still need more votes on how we'll do progression, but for now -- +500 xp for bringing the goblin warband to heel, (almost) bloodlessly. (bloodless at least in the literal sense)...

Warlord Spirit 13/13 HP AC14 (+4/animals); Touch: 14; Flat-footed: 10, CMD: 12 (+4/animals), Initiative: +9, Perception +2, Fort: +0; Ref: +4; Will +0 (+2 vs. disease, mind-affecting effects, death effects, negative energy, necromancy spells)

Plot-based!

That's three votes. I ask if somebody would volunteer to keep tally of experience gathered by the group -- This idea was put forward by Choon just to make sure that we are at least maintaining a minimum pace for progression!

In my prophesee speech, i plan to claim that the goblins have failed because the surface has abandoned them. I will then attempt to form a new tribe and prophesee that they will find the symbol of my authenticity in the pool in the form of a red rock. They must protect this rock at all costs or be slain by a wrathful Lamashtu.
I also plan to affirm Mum as spiritual head and affirm Gorfiend as Chief with myself as Prophet.

Anyhing else I should do/mention/etc?

oh you too? Just got my second call from my boss this evening.

254: if you are uncertain how your host effects your stealth, post here. I seem to have lost your profile in the shuffle or I would have done it myself -- you will always keep the superior skill level, but keep in mind, as Abrasax is no longer a tiny gem when he's a goblin, you are not a tiny worm when you are -- therefore, things like size bonus would be changed. as soon as I find your completed character concept I'll start processing turns again, and see how well the prophesy holds...

Okay 254, just put down for me how you tabulated your stealth score and I'll check it for QA.

Going to update the game and hope I get some more activity down the line.

I think my Stealth bonus is 4-8pts lower when I'm a goblin, but the size change + Goblin Stealth bonus confused me. If you get it figured out, that would be awesome. :-)

That's where I was about to head as well. Been a long day between work and cleaning. What all do I need to roll for the scroll?

If you took twenty and sat down to open it, you could likely pop it open but it would take a bit of time... I'd look at your INT score and then roll some dice, 1-2 hours tops. If you feel lucky you can take 10 and let it ride and it might just pop right open, though.

However, I strongly urge you to check the main thread for another opportunity before you go do that, you may not want to do anything about the situation, but informed decisions are the best decisions.

Dex +4, Size +4 (small), Racial Bonus (goblin) +4 = +12 as a goblin unless I'm forgetting something, which you are free to point out. Did you have any ranks put into it (because with your int you should have started with some skill points) that would be something to add as well.

HP: 63/63 | AC: 15; T: 15; FF: 10; CMD:21 | Fort: +4; Ref: +5; Will: +7| Init: +3; Perc: +19

I'm glad Mum doesn't believe. That would have almost been too easy. Can I sense motive on mum to see if I notice her unbelief?

Oh! I forgot to count the goblin racial stealth bonus in my calculations. So I'm hiding at +4 better. Since I didn't change size I didn't have to change my ranks in it.

The Abrasax wrote:

You don't need to. If you check the running narrative her behavior clearly advertises her skepticism. You're used to dealing with far more politically savvy opponents. Any cleric is a potential danger to your nature as forbidden extra-dimensional beings -- though you cannot discount what a boon any amount of healing could be to the group, if her participation could somehow be acquired.

It's worth noting that both Itzal and Tsao are engaging Mum at the moment, and unless Itzal is using his telepathy to stall her meditation and make her vulnerable, you may have opposing objectives.

I trust I have left enough information to work things out (Itzal can try to stop Tsao IF he can spot him) -- otherwise I'll process as things go.

If either of you have posted later this evening when I get home and the other has not, I'll consider that one person got in before the other, and we'll go from there.

Yep. We'll see who takes care of her first.

Tsao -- actually you CAN'T hear that she's talking to someone -- as the conversation that is taking place is a telepathic exchange, and "Mum", as indicated previously, does not formally speak.

:D

Warlord Spirit 13/13 HP AC14 (+4/animals); Touch: 14; Flat-footed: 10, CMD: 12 (+4/animals), Initiative: +9, Perception +2, Fort: +0; Ref: +4; Will +0 (+2 vs. disease, mind-affecting effects, death effects, negative energy, necromancy spells)

Sorry! I saw the ""s and assumed it was speech.

Since telepathy and alternative forms of communication look to be big themes in this campaign, might I make a formatting suggestion?

"Bold with quotes for talking out loud"

Italics for internal monologues - no half-insane villain should leave home without one!

"And when you're inside your head AND talking to someone, italics with quotation marks."

Just for consistency?

I was trying to mark all my speech as bold, and anything that was thoughts italics, making telepathy both.

Let me know what y'all decide, will tow the line.

@Preet: to examine weapons and lifeforms, use perception, or a Knowledge skill! :D

Hope we haven't stalled out, but if we are that's ok... maybe y'all post more during the week then on the weekends, otherwise Tsao and Itzal have been holding the door for each other way too long!

I was with family this weekend. Future notice - it's hard for me to find time to sit down and write up multiple posts a day during the weekends. One or two is usually all I can manage. I'm still here.

That's been my experience as well. We're by far the fastest PbP I've ever seen, so I'd been expecting it to slow to the normal 1-2 posts per day.

ummmm.... I hate to point this out but when you get a chance please visit....This thread

even on the weekends it gets a few dozen posts per day, on weekdays it can get a few hundred, sometimes up to five

Funny thing: if we had a comparable number of PCs, we'd be faster than them. We're averaging 30-40 posts per day right now.

I'm also not posting quite as much because I'm uncertain, both IC and OOC. Would Tsao seek to simply overwhelm Mum's mind and remove her doubts that way? Would there be a way to kill Mum without causing complete chaos and anarchy in the goblin tribe?

Is causing complete chaos and anarchy something Tsao DOESN'T want to do?
