"The idea is sound, but that is not a cleaver way to execute it. The enemy would just take out the zombies and if we made the zombies strong enough not to be easily taken down why aren't they fighting. I have another suggestion we make floating disks and put iron domes on them with peep holes or arrow slits. The caster's should be very safe inside and still about to cast out. We might want to research a improved version that is a bit bigger."
ill consider and post my spells when I'm on my home computer and not my phone.

" adamantine would be extreme overkill this platforms only really need to last one battle at a time. I was thinking more of using floating disks to support iron domes with peek holes. Sort of like tanks. Casters have been casting wall of iron for centuries even after the iron as rusted away it still brings the iron content of the land up. Iron is as cheap as dirt"

"True. Adamantine is probably overkill. However, I was thinking of making something less disposable than a single battle. I was thinking something to act as a symbol of our awesome might. 'Ahh, here comes the platform of fearsome death,' the peasants will say or some such. Good times. Good times. "

The party buffs up in front of the forest, and leer at it menacingly. From the forest the party can hear a trotting horse for about 2 minutes before it sounds like to is arriving towards the group. The sound then suddenly stops but nothing is in sight.

Leonard stands at the forest edge flanked by two red skinned humanoids with barbed tails and wings. He casts a couple of spells.
How dense is the forest canopy? I was thinking of sending a flying spy to see what's happening.
Leonard the Black
"GARGOYLES!" Leonard suddenly says. "Gargoyles would be perfect for keeping an eye out and finding lawbreakers in our cities. We'll need a clan or two, but they'd be perfect little watchers. We can even feed them by letting them take some of the lesser lawbreakers. "
Old Smoky Bill
Leiara was in a meeting with the group, that is still sort of going on in spoiler tags. The group is now infront of Kemanwati forest planning to go in. At the minute it looks like they are buffing up.
Leonard can tell that the canopy is quite thick, there seems to be breaks in it where a stream or water source might be following. Due to the forested not being well traveled the trees have covered quite a lot.
Geography check for min The forest is approximately 250 miles across. There is several streams that go to basins in the forest. The general layout of what's inside has never been recorded as no-one has come out of there alive. Most information has been attained form long range scrying of a bird's eye view or a view from the mountain range to the west.
Min Classified
The forest is 250 miles across. We can only travel 12.1212 miles before our 10 minute per level buffs wear off. We don't know where the portal is so we would have to search for it. All we know is that it is not at the center of the forest. Not seeming like the quick go I thought. Then again no one has ever left the forest alive. That suggests a certain determination. So if we go a 6 miles in then turn back something is bound to attack us before we leave. Still any suggestions?
Little Aurelie
Question as I'm considering buffs--how much did we heal "overnight"? Our hit dice? To max? Just figuring out how many spells/channels will be used to come back to good HP levels.
Little Aurelie
Alright, unfortunately Aurelie's buffs are all relatiely short-term, most of them being 1 min./level, so she'll wait to pump those up until it looks like trouble's going to be starting.
Aurelie hides behind her Big Pappy's leg, Kitty at her side. "What's that?" she whispers to the group, pointing at the rough position of the noise's disappearance.
Leiara
Leiara doesn't seem particularly afraid of the forest. She pats Zoom, who she's brought with her, the big dinosaur tromping along behind them. Seeing that people are all buffing up, she shrugs. Scales crawl across her features, and her eyes go a bit feral and reptilian, coloring similar to that of Zoom's.

After giving Bill a dirty look Leonard heads into the forest flanked by his two minions.

If Shard gets a reasonably accurate idea of its position he will cast Faerie Fire there, turning the outline of the figure violet.
Old Smoky Bill
A shadow points out something to The shard, he casts Faerie Fire on a creature near him. A unicorn outline appears out of the air and sneezes at the magical dust. It starts to recoil backwards realizing it has been spotted and looks to make a break for it. There is no rider on his back.
I'm actually surprised no-one blasted Old smoky for his insolence :P
The group moves forward looking about and it isn't long before they hear a voice speak out. "Ah, you have returned with allies. Be careful the denizens of the forest know you are here. Be prepared for a fight, I have drawn the guardian's eyes away from you but that shall not last forever."
Consider these two things happen relatively close to each other so you can react to either one.

Upon seeing the outlined unicorn Leonard points for the still invisible Kodo and Podo spring into action.
Flapping their wings they both quickly cover the distance (assuming it's less than 50' otherwise they double move and make these actions the following rounds.)
(remember the Unicorn is flat footed, assuming it can't see invisibility. Additionally it gets a +2 Deflection bonus and +2 saves due to the prot from good aura and being attacked by evil creatures. My imp's are called, not summoned so they can attack despite the prot from good aura.)

Kodo and Podo come out and attack the Unicorn. Podo is the only one that hits, though as Min warns Unicorns are immune to poison so the Sting only scrapes the unicorn a little. Both the hasted attacks hit scratching the unicorn some more. 13 damage total, The imps can go at your initiative.
One of the rays that Leonard throws out hits the unicorn the other goes flying off and hits a tree.
A skeletal cat hits the unicorn and then Mr Jingles gives the unicorn a swift punch in the jaw. During this time the Unicorn is saying in common. "By the gods, ahh, ow, ouch. Not the horn, not the horn." The unicorn then splatters on the ground twitching with a few vestiges of life in his body.
