Okay then let's increase the BP to 300 and see where people get to.
@Vaklam and Min: Let's go with you just need to build something for now (anything), for the build orders. If they come up again in the game I'll think based on the situations your towns are in to what people will want built.
@Vaklam: Sorry missed the GM rulings you need; I don't think we need to roll as 50% or 100% of 0 is still 0.
If people run out of BP before the end just declare edicts and adjust your stats up for every step to the end. You just don't build anything because you have no money to. You'll get more to turn your cities into sprawling buildings as the game progresses though.

Thanks Shard sense I have made all my rolls so far I am not going to recalculate my past, but I'll set my DC to 25 now.
I realise I did not roll for discovery before [dice=discovery] 1d4
Festival: Sense it won't last to the present day I don't think I will bother with gifts.
Inquisition: [dice=Loyalty Check] 1d20+20 I failed the check. I am going to say that this is way I am involved in this war in the first place. The Public pressure became so great that I had to go along with it in order to take control back. Can you help give me names for these people?
Improvement demand (build): don't Know what I need to build. But just in case I can't [dice=Loyalty Check] 1d20+20
Archaeological find: Cool +1 Lore I like Lore
Economic Boom [dice=roll] 1d6 Was hopping for more
Feud [dice=Loyalty check]1d20+20 I would seem that a feud got started start week or so and I have not been able to Surpress it. Can you help give me names for these people?
At the end of all this I have a war, a Feud, +5 Lore and +1 Fame.
By reworking things and calculating I found that had +25 loy when I did the Inquisition check so I passed despite only rolling a 3.
Same thing goes for the Feud. I not done yet, but I am glad I beat those two things.
By the way Old smoky I have found a way to do Knowledge Psionic's Check. According to the Knowledge skill you can make untrained knowledge checks if you have access to a library. My Kingdom has some serious Lore.

Old Smoky Bill |

@Leonard: I've started creating kingdoms stats for the other two kingdoms yea, their stats will be much higher but unrest will also be decently high and more manipulative.
I've already got named characters for most of the roles as well so if people want to try at assassinate some or replace at some point you can. Just be warned some will be hard to kill such as the Ruler for each country.
@Min: We can have treaties and embassies (you already have them in place) I don't want to use the rules for them in the book just yet, again I don't feel comfortable enough to run them until I can see how running the normal system goes. With the treaties just try coming to a negotiation in roleplay terms.

Vaklam |

Quick question:
If a building is an upgraded form of another building(IE, a guildhall can be upgraded from a trade shop), do you need the non upgraded building first, or can you just build it, for of course the full price?

Old Smoky Bill |

Ah cool, though with regards to the stats as far as I can see the base rules include only the main 4. The rest don't come into kindgom rolls unless you are doing the advanced rules.
Vaklam seems to be done, Min seems to be done, Leonard hasn't started and The shard is at halfway. I'll have a look over in the next 2 days or so. Does anyone have any other questions about it?

Vaklam |

I'm pretty sure I'm way over the BP limit. Not sure how, as I thought I was quite careful in my math, but if somebody could double check, last I got was 392.
Bare in mind, I should have 315 total, due to a pair of Events.
If I was right, I will obviously adjust to the correct amount.

Old Smoky Bill |

@Leonard: Don't worry, work can be annoying sometimes I know. I'll check in on Saturday some point then to see where people are at.
In the meantime to get some power plays going when we start up the main thread again. I would like everyone to come up with one scheme against any named character (this includes the PCs) that you'd like to do. You can PM me or put it in spoiler tags whichever you prefer. You can use your towns to do this if you wish. I think everyone is near the end of an event so I will round them up when I do the first post later.
Vaklam: We will get you to last vault to have the little chat I had planned there.
Leonard: I will give you a general idea of what Namah will set up.
Min: You will break through the front and I'll try to give you some info on what is going on just past it.
The Shard: We will get you to the main shrine so you can talk with the Youkai Lord.
I just want to do that so we get everyone on the same page again when we start up.

Min Classified |

@Leonard: I would suggest you get a FOREIGN QUARTER to deal with all your devil population as well as the embassy from the forrest. As for other stuff it mostly comes down to a matter of taste. I wanted my city to be a big Academia so I got a university, bardic college, museum and a lot of libraries. I also liked the idea of my city having a rather small, but very advanced and wealthy population so instead of getting houses I got NOBLE VILLAs. I'm not quite sure what kind of city you are going for.

The Shard |

Sorry for the delay in building, didn't have the time yet to get around building the other half of my city.
Localized Disaster
1d6 ⇒ 6
Drat: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Stability Checks vs DC 25: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 201d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 361d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 231d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 271d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 231d20 + 18 ⇒ (20) + 18 = 381d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 341d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 351d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20
So that is 3 buildings down and unrest + 3 (How do I determine which buildings are destroyed?) My internet is old where I am now, so I'll update my completed build plan in a few hours.

Old Smoky Bill |

@Shard: It seems to be based on proximity to a lot, so choose a lot to start with then destroy 3 buildings nearby that would be destroyed. Roll randomly I suppose if there were more than 3 in the area. I know we don't have lot maps up yet but I guess if the fire started in a house it might affect building associated with houses first.
@Vaklam: Yea Psionics are around, so by all means use them. As long as it is the dreamscarred press stuff anyway. Not the 3.5 books.
@Min: You are right I haven't revealed much of the names of either Varien or Nazca yet as only one person has crossed the border so far and has met one named character: Roderik.
I will post a list of nobles or notable people the group would know form either kingdom shortly.

The Shard |

building after first house: 1d6 ⇒ 2= Herbalist
building after that: 1d6 ⇒ 2= Brewery
so one house and two buildings have burned down.
Rebuilding those seems a good idea.
New Subjects:
BP roll: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Land Rush:
Loyalty check vs DC 25: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28 Unrest increases by just 1

Tiny Coffee Golem |

Guys, I'm in the middle of a rather large project at work. I don't think I have the time to devote to this game that it required. I think it's best if I just take a step back. You're welcome to use Leonard as an NPC and continue to use the troops he provides. Leonard would make a good "behind the scenes" guy as needed.

The Shard |

Remarkable Treasure:
Base Value: 6500
Improved verison of any of these: 2 minor items, 1 medium item 1 major item 1 minor potion/minor wondrous item, 2 minor wondrous items.
which one: 1d7 ⇒ 1
I get a medium item of maximum price 9750 Old Smoky, I'll let you determine that.
Bandit Activity:
Stability Check DC 26: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (3) + 25 = 28
Sorry for the absence in posting kingdom build, I've been rather busy.

Old Smoky Bill |

FML: I get back and I won't have internet properly for a few days. I hope this stabilizes at some point for me. I was at a conference for 10 days they said we'd have internet. We didn't, back home need to move and the place we're moving into that said we'd have internet doesn't so.. stuck for posting until that comes back. Sorry for the mini Hiatus here I will try to get back up and running.
@Leonard: Sorry to see you go, had fun though.

Old Smoky Bill |

Okay list of NPCs you'll know from each Kingdom.
Empire of Varien:
Beltzer - Dwarf, Emperor of the kingdom, has been the proud ruler of the kingdom for some 200 years.
Kharanos - Dwarf, 1st son of the emperor, rules the east side of the continent.
Samara - Human, 1st daughter of the emperor, a tinkerer of sorts. Responsible for many of the golem designs seen in the empire today.
Eliza - Human, 2nd daughter of the emperor, not much is known about this lady as she has never left the capital.
Sal'thazar - Dwarf, 2nd son of the emperor, responsible for the armies in the south that is stopping the advancement of here be dragons.
Simon - Half-elf, Head of the church in the Empire. This man is the pioneer behind the choir and many other advancements with the church
Sabre/Kenshin/lone walker - Human, This man goes by many names, none of which are his actual name. He might never have had one to begin with. He is a perfect blend of lightning and weaponry. A custom made golem that wants nothing more than the greatest fight. Works as a scout for the main army.
Moocowgnome - gnome, head of the inquistion. This gnome is the reason why all cows in the varien are 33% glass. He has the capability to invent rumours that eventually become true. People are unsure how, the current rumour is that the moon is made of cheese. It might have already happened but no-one has checked in fear that he might be right.
Qanikcir - ?, head adviser, no one has ever seen her in person. Not even the emperor as far as you can tell. She appears as a voice inside of a black ball.
Dr. Jelly: ?, scientific research expert, he has for a long time development his ultimate weapons. The fabled Gelatinous cube! Though it is better, harder, faster and more explosive than before!
Kingdom of Nazca:
Breylissa - Elf, Queen of Nazca, a very frail old woman who has been ruling just as long as Beltzer. She is also younger than him but has aged considerably more.
Alma - Gorilla, head of the planar armies for Nazca, served under the monastery master Wall.E.Runnah. Some say he uses other people as weapons, other say he uses whales. No-one knows for sure as they usually end up dead.
Seph - Goblin, protectorate of the shield, maintains most of Nazca's shield defenses around the continent. Unlike Varien they have less soldiers but are able to deploy them quicker due to their portals. Their towns have magical shields that ward away from monsters and most threats. Seph maintains those shields.
Jack - Human, a human beyond his years at the ripe old age of 160. He maintains a psionic college that forms the forefront research of Nazca's technological superiority.
Blackie - Catfolk, Head investigator to the Queen, he often speaks as if he was narrating his life. A strange one but gets the job done.
Zebede - Elf, head of the elven armies of Nazca. His powers originate from his god. No-one knows what god that is, Zebede says it is from the ultimate worship of himself! Other people just think he's loopy but he doesn't stop him from being a good general.
Neutral
Dragash - Half-elf, he is a salesman with almost anything you could want. One big problem, no-one knows how to contact him so no-one can prove he is around. However all evidence points towards his existance.
Dorvent - Drow, a wondering gambler who has left his home, away from the female oppressors. Often gambling the lives of others he lives by effectively taking anything he wants through games of chance that are rigged. There is no-way that Drow is that lucky. Uses a very unique magic that requires a deck of playing cards to actually function.
Side note:
Considering we are down to 3 until Vaklam's brother is ready, shall I re-open recruitment. Since we are doing kingdom building this seems like a good place to do it. If at any point.

Old Smoky Bill |

Okay, read through people's spreadsheets they seem alright!
Interent is back wooo!
I will open a recruitment thread later today. Any preference to what kind of people you want to join? I know party composition doesn't matter too much in gestalt but I know some people don't like people being the same sort of character as them sometimes.
So any preferences or shall I just do free for all recruiting?
As with how they come into power, I shall put them down to second in commands of previous leaders who want to change the way their bit of the kingdom worked as they didn't believe in the previous leaders anyway. Which will account for any radical shift in mentality.

The Shard |

Perhaps a warlord type of ruler might be a nice change, at the moment we have a knowledge-hungry wizard, a martial arts druid and a vampire sorcerer with an undead kingdom.
If we would ever have another group encounter, we might need someone that could pack a punch and take one to the face. I'm not sure if I fit that role.

Captain Fremont |

I'm starting to make my way through the Campaign Information. So the Leadership made it so I could make my Cohort, but I do not get to control. Is that correct?
Edit: In regards to your question about what I would like for a city...a fleet sounds fun. Perhaps he has had a crafty tendency to not only steal a ship's valuables, but the ship in itself as well. Once taken he quickly fills it with his dedicated followers.
Using this method he has developed a fleet of ships which helps keep any do-gooders from getting too out of line in fear of the repercussions that would follow.

Old Smoky Bill |

Sorry for my delay in posting, my internet is being screwy since I moved. Hopefully I will properly post soon.
You get no direct control over your cohort but you can still command him. By that I mean, tell him to do something he likely will. Tell him to jump of a cliff or stab himself he probably won't.
Yea the city can be a fleet of pilfered ships :D

Old Smoky Bill |

Okay things have stabilised now. I am fine with you writing up tactics.
Is anyone missing things from their sheet? I can see Fremont hasn't started yet but we can catch things up quick.
I think we'll start the kingdom building things by asking each player to post what they want their first goal to be. So I have some perspective on how they would like to expand. Then we'll get people to work towards that.
So what I am expecting in the gameplay thread is just to have each player check in again with how they would like to expand, why they would like to expand that way and what they could use to do so (Feel free to be liberal in descriptions and random things your forces might use.)

Min Classified |

I plan on spying on Samara. I want to steal his designs. Or better his command codes. Or even better kidnap him.
All of this the first step to all this plans would be to insert an agent into his household or employee.
James Bard is the obvious choice. Of course this has the problem of only leaving the Pugwhampi to spend the counter-fiet money and they don't look human.
First goal for goal in kingdom Building is to make indoor plumbing complete with hot and cold water a thing.
Second goal for goal in kingdom Building. I want to make an AI that monitors everything in my city and can correlate the data.

Old Smoky Bill |

Don't worry we'll get back to those, I just want to get a general idea of where people want to take the city building so I can write up stuff about it. If you want I can keep those encounters running for Shard and Vaklam now while you guys think up where you want your cities to go?

Vaklam |

On Golarion, there's a city that's basically a bunch of floating docks all lashed together. I forget if its stationary or mobile, but its totally what I thought of when I heard we'd get a pirate ruler.
