A help wanted sign nailed to this post flaps in the wind. The corners are worn and the paper is slightly soggy from the rain, but the ink is still legible.
"The Gold Goblin is hiring! We are looking for well rounded individuals from all walks of life. Open positions include: manager, broker, bouncer, chef, and many more! We are also looking for an on-call cleric to help with blessings and to ward off bad luck. Please contact Nel Sandhal for more information."
"Two adventurers wanted to assist in a trip to the Devil's Elbow, site of the great Skymetal Rush. Join in for Glory, Adventure, And Unlimited Earning Potential. Any skills accepted, all to receive an equal share of the gold. Apply at the Gold Goblin with two references and a resume. Must provide own supplies.
I am seeking two new players (at least, with the possibility for a third) for our Second Darkness game. Our Second Darkness game has completed book one and is preparing to enter into book two of Second Darkness.
You are more than welcome to check out our gameplay thread to get an idea of where we're at, the character's personality, that sort of thing.
Typically, players post 2-3 posts per week in our game, so we're somewhat slow-moving but are continuing to make progress. It has taken us since August 2014 to reach the end of book two, but we're excited and ready to move on. Plus, book 4 is amazing.
Please include:
- a backstory the includes how your character go to level 4
- any planned arc you have for this character (including character development and/or character build progression
- a resume-style write-up as to why you'd be a good person to take
I'll talk with the accepted character about hooks into the campaign.
The character we're looking for should follow these build rules:
- Level 4
- 3000 starting gold + 1500 gp in consumables
- 25 Point Buy with no stats higher than 18 (including racials, not including level 4 bump)
- Core and APG preferred. If you wish to take something from outside these books, please ask first. If you’re taking something from material unavailable on the PRD, please provide a link to Archive of Nethys. Rogues may use Unchained version of the class.
- Races no higher than 19 RP - if you're taking something weird, you need a backstory worth its level of weirdness - no drow
- Maximum HP first level, average for levels 2-4.
- Two traits. If you already own the player’s companion or otherwise have access to it, please take a campaign trait. Note: The Deciphering the Blot trait is edited to grant you a +1 bonus to Spellcraft and Use Magic Device, and one of these skills (your choice) is always a class skill for you.
Note: We currently have two mounted front-line fighters (cavalier and samurai) and a wizard.
I'll be happy to answer questions as they arise. The players will come by an introduce themselves and their characters shortly.
I would like to finish recruitment and introduce characters to the game no later than Friday, January 8th.

Alraniel "Nel" Sandhal |

Hello! I'm the aforementioned cavalier and acting manager of the gold goblin, Quill aka Nel Sandhal.
Nel is a tome loving cavalier who is fiercely loyal to her friends and can talk her way out of most tight spots. She loves learning and speaking other languages, but has had to put that on hold due to her new responsibilities as floor manager and trying to restart the Gold Goblin Gambling hall after the former owner attempted to remover her from the picture. In combat Nel takes to the front line and attempts to slash down her foes.
I look forward to seeing what interesting characters we can add to our group!

I guess I will dot on in and see where this thing goes.
I will say that if I do rejoin this campaign I probably would rather submit a new character instead of rekindling Vark (as great of a character as he turned out to be). But we can discuss that in further detail as the need arises.
As it stands, I will say that a RL friend and I worked on a very in-depth background for a pair of twins for a Second Darkness roll20 game that, unfortunately, never got off of the ground. They were a half-elf ranger and summoner. While I wrote my ranger to be a dual-wield focused character, I think I would rather play him as an archer, but if someone dots in and expresses interest in playing the summoner side of things, I would gladly provide much more detail on the matter.

Pluck |

Howdy, I'm Pluck, the aforementioned wizard. Pluck is a wise ass and con artist turned budding cyphermage. He hasn't been the most reliable team player, having disappeared for a period and then reappearing just in time to help save the party from an ambush. Since he's still a little short of becoming a cyphermage, he's currently a scroll scholar and as funds and time permit, he'll be scribing lots of scrolls to help be prepared for as many situations as he can imagine. Looking forward to seeing what new players join the game!

Tara Ravenheart |

I admit I am not familiar at all with the Second Darkness AP, but it sounds like a priest of Cayden Cailean would be a perfect fit for the current set up. Not sure if it should be cleric, oracle, or some other spin? Maybe dip a level in bard or rogue. I feel like the Inquisitor could be a decent building point, if only I could find the right archetype that takes off some of the "divine hunter" edge - doesn't quite feel right for a happy-go-lucky priest of Cayden. Need to dig in a bit.

"Oh? hello! You're pink again. It's a healthy pink. Am I in the tapestry again? States of being can be so confusing. I hope they haven't folded me in and put me in cupboard."
If I submit someone it probably wouldn't be Faeria, but I do have an elf (who I could make into a bard 2/cleric (Calistrian) 2+) who might work. She's meant to be a cleric with some knowledge and social skills (hence the 2 bard levels). At any rate she's more socialized than Faeria and could be drawn into the adventure as a subcontracted agent from Kyonin (possibly she is meant to fail spectacularly enough to draw attention away from the real agents, or just confuse matters or maybe she just stumbled on things by during the course of her own investigations). She wouldn't know about the drow but might have some secret connection, or be following clues that will lead her to them. I am as you can tell familiar with the arc of the campaign having read it once over about a week. But I'm pretty good about in and out of character info and really don't remember much in the way of specifics.
She's a support/face character (high marks in sense motive and diplomacy and elven ruthlessness). She would be a passable combatant with a whip or rapier. For traits I would like to keep 'Charming', but could sub in 'Fools for Friends' or 'Looking for Work (Perform)'.
Inspiration for her comes from a few places: The elven Theologian in book 5ish of the AP, The Calistiran inquisitor in the Pathfinder novel "Queen of Thorns", and the elven NPCs from the "Court of Ardor" in an ancient Middle-Earth Role-Playing game campaign I ran in my misspent, late 80's youth, from where I lifted the name--Rilia.
Rilia's current Pathfinder Society incarnation looks and sounds like this.
As for why take me? Would you accept as a temporary stand in for a more formal resume a portion of a post (the 'About me' section) that was a kind of letter of introduction I used to introduce myself to a campaign that was in search of a GM when theirs bowed out? They haven't fired me yet!
And thanks for the consideration.

words...
Ooohh, I like him. Can we keep him? :D
I guess it is safe to say that I shall be making my triumphant return to this campaign, so I will be filling one of the available slots. I am playing a telekineticist albino gambler who tosses dice/cards/darts/etc. based on a certain someone from a certain well-known SNES RPG (my favorite game of all-time).

GM_Panic |

You wait for a bus and then 4 come at once.
GM_Panic [Cleric]
Tara Ravenheart [Priest of Cayden Cailean/bard/rogue]
ScegfOd [summoner Cleric]
Faeria, the Mad [Bard/Cleric]
Ok, now seeing others want to play cleric types as well, more than happy to let others play a cleric, sogoing to think of a new class.
Now thinking something more skills or sneakiness, With a Samurai in the party, could go Monk but Ninja now that would be fun, and with the right race, there could be a lot of cool RP play to be had.
Ok Dropping my old idea for this new one.
I would like to play a,
Nice bit of sneaky and cunning for the party.

Rilia of the Savored Sting |

Back again! For the first time.
Rilia saunters in and circles the room, ending in the center. She spins around once and flips her luxurious pale platinum-gold hair to one side just covering her left eye. She holds the pose for a moment.
"Well?"
Primarily she's out of the Core book, the Advanced Player's Guide and the Advanced Race Guide, with touches taken from Adventurers Armory, Ultimate Magic, a few other odds and ends (I think I bought some candles from Rise of the Rune Lords Anniversary Edition). Most are as much for show as they are for utility. She ends up able to make use of a ton of useful minor magical and spell-like abilities. All of the rest of her levels should be cleric from now on which she can use at full caster level thanks to her Magical Knack trait.

Lady Kyoko Moriko |

The woman smiled, her silk clothing and dress made her look like a fine lady. Image here but the inn owner was in sock, looking into the room she was calmly cleaning her sword. The mess that was on the bed had been Big Grull, a local crime lord and Half Orc not to be messed with. Now his head was sitting some way from his body.
The human looking woman smiled at the inn keep, as she tossed him a small bag of gold.
"For cleaning"
Was all she said as she popped Grulls head into a bag and walked passed him. It was a moment before he focused, "What the...!"
he ran after her, she was already outside his barman said, not finding her in the room below. Pushing out the door he could see no one, the air was cold and now new fallen. Then done the empty street he spotted a fox, looking at him an moment and then gone.
------------------------
GM Panic here, meet Lady Kyoko Moriko. Or KoKo to her Friends, a cold hard killer for goodness, a Ninja with tricks to play. She is smart, sneaky and cool headed in a fight. Good at range and getting into places other would find hard to. I hope you like here.
Note: She is still under construction, back story and Arch needs to be in place.

Lady Kyoko Moriko |

Tamiro would it be ok to link to your pc?
As for me as a player, been playing from DnD red box, so long time Roll player, but this not mean I am 100% in all rules. I'm a fluff and RP player, rules are good but rule of cool is best. Fun in games, and lots of interesting interplay with PCs. best way to play. I post a lot so can keep up with 3/4 a week no problem. I also GM on here a game called The End of magic, which is going well.
I see my PC as a kind of spy type for hire, she is looking into the death of her farther, the man who trained her form Birth. He sent her an odd letter 7 mouths ago, with another letter saying he had been killed on a contract. What came with that letter was his severed hand. She wants to know who sent the latter and if and by who her father was killed.

Jenner 'Holystone' |

Heya! Submitting Jenner "Holystone", a dwarf inquisitor of Torag.
Mechanics and crunch are in the alias, but as for the rest:
To make coin, he hired out with various mercenary groups and even at times on ships, as most of the jobs in Riddleport come back to a ship's deck, sooner or later. Jenner hates sailing with a passion, but nevertheless, it was on Varisian ships that he got one of his nicknames: 'Holystone.' Holystone is a soapstone used for scrubbing ship's decks, but it was also a wordplay on Jenner's role as ship's man-of-the-gods and medic, and even on his dwarfiness.
As years passed and Jenner became more and more a fixture of Riddleport society and its relatively-short-lived humans, he acquired other nicknames: 'Sarge' and 'Chaplain'. Jenner has conflicted feelings about most of the rascals and scoundrels that he works with: on the one hand, his dwarven soul, which loves strong social order and clear ethical rules, finds Riddleport citizenry to be a bunch of selfish, amoral, short-sighted, squabbling sons-of-scrap-steel. On the other hand, he feels rather paternal-- in a gruff, tough, drill-sergeant way-- towards them at the same time, and tries to 'whup 'em into shape' with dwarven discipline and good old-fashioned hard work. Not everyone's appreciative... and Jenner certainly doesn't go out of his way to endear himself to others. More than one ship's captain has grown sick of his telling them how to run their own ship, and kicked his keister back to shore.
Jenner is reaching middle-age now, by dwarven standards, and a little bit of a mid-life crisis is setting in. It's unusual for a dwarf his age to not have settled down in the clan-- the young bucks sow their wild oats and go on adventures, but past one's 120th birthday, one should be doing things other than wasting time drinking the years away in human taverns in a human city, shepherding non-dwarves through battles and patching them up after.
He's left his most recent employment opportunity and adjourned to one of his very favorite dives-- the Gold Goblin Gambling Hall-- for a drink, and a meditation on what he wants to do next with his life.
Buildwise: he will continue as a secondary divine caster (healer if necessary), some skill-monkeying, high perception character, team buffer, and ranged combatant. He's mostly a support character but can contribute damage in a pinch, or even scout.
He's mostly Core and APG, but he does have some gear that is not from those sources. I've marked it with OOC text where it appears so you can decide more easily if they're okay.
I've build him as someone who heals in an emergency via a wand, but who does not know the cure spells. If the game does NOT accept a cleric, I could fiddle with his build to make him a stronger healer, rather than a back-up one.
Alignment: Jenner is lawful good, but he's not the sort to rub his ethics in the faces of others. (He also basically expects all humans to be less ethical than dwarves anyway, so he doesn't get too bothered by the moral depradations of humans, as he sees it.) I see him more as someone who has really strong feelings on civic duty and the benefits of society rather than someone who is championing Truth and Justice, if that makes sense.
I'm envisioning Jenner as having been in Riddleport for some 40 years, so long enough for lots of NPCs, and/or the PCs, to know him.

Merrick Karn |

Discussed the character a bit with the GM already, hence the rather...new archetype. Crunchy bits are in the profile.
Still working out the full backstory for the character, but here's what I got thus far:
Merrick was born into a family of rather well off loggers and traders in the central Varisian town. Like many, or perhaps all, born in the town, Merrick took to learning about weapons at a young age. By age 6, he was already quite proficient in archery and was competitive in the Archerfest tournaments by the time he was 10. Though his parents were more into the mercantile side of the family business, Merrick spent far more time with the rangers and other guides that led logging expeditions into the forest. Merrick's parents were a bit concerned by this, but let the young lad become an apprentice of sorts and go off with the rangers on more than one occasion. The young man enjoyed learning all the rangers could show him. As he grew older, Merrick was eventually put in charge of some of these expeditions, but he always seemed to want more. He wanted a life where he could travel more and learn about beasts beyond those that lived in the Ashwood.
After much begging and pleading, Merrick's family sent him with a caravan bound for Riddleport. Merrick jumped at the chance, but when he started talking to folks around town, he got the distinct impression he was being sent for a reason that his family wouldn't tell him about. The fact that the assignment came shortly after a council meeting seemed not to be a coincidence. IT wasn't until shortly before the caravan left that he was handed a sealed scroll case with instructions not to open it until they were two days out from Ilsurian. When he opened the case, his suspicions were confirmed. He was being sent for a reason.
Resume:
* Exceptional with a bow (two time Archerfest winner, three time runner up)
* Has led numerous expeditions in the Ashwood with only one known death (he didn't listen...)
* Experienced hunter
* Fairly good looking

Character Concept 1 |

Dotting for interest - thinking of submitting an Ulfen Skald (Urban Skald) - an exiled warrior-skald from the hard lands of The North, whose fallen into harder times in Riddleport.
Known as a Tavern Truth Seeker and Sword Tongued, the big Viking likes a drink, loves a tall tale and wields insults almost as handily as his great ax.
Profile is work in progress - crunch and fluff will be nailed down over the next day or so. Slow paced game suits me well, and I'm part of a number of long running games here on the boards. Prefer role over roll
@Slothsy: Am a big fan of binding traits into builds both for mechanics and particularly for flavour - would you allow Additional Traits feat for a 1st Level option?
RP based resume to kick things off...
The tall Northman eyes the fluttering sign with first a scowl as he read the rain bled lettering, followed by a nod of his shaggy head.
Slowly he trudged toward the Gold Goblin. He knew of the gambling house, though he had rarely frequented the place... Games of chance held little lure for the skald, he preferred contests of words or the drinking horn. It mattered not, his skills were in dealing with troublemakers and entertaining patrons...
Inside he stood; soggy and scarred, waiting to speak with the manager - a tall shield-maid who had something of the álfr about her...
"Greetings Mistress. The note said you were hiring? All walks considered you say? Já I hafa seen much... The North was once my heim. Now I am a nīðing... exile. They say I am breaker of oaths und shields. I will say this... minn words oft finish fights better than any fist... I do seek honour anew... You talk of Glory... Adventure... Gull und treasures... Then let us drink the kegs dry und talk of glories lost and those to koma! Und on the morrow, if you wish it, I will pledge ax und voice to you und your company!"

Lady Kyoko Moriko |

1. Your experience with the rules.
Been playing pathfinder form year 1, and have been roll paying for over 35 years, from DnD red box and Traveller book 1. I help design and play test RPGS
2. Your experience with PbP.
Been on here close to 3 years and played for years PbP wr games.
3. Expectations for playing and what you want out of the experience.
Good GM, a game GM not a rules GM, rules are there to help you form a game, they are not 'THE' form of the game. I like background good believable NPCs, respectful fellow players, an understanding communicative and regular posting GMs. :)
4. Philosophy as a PbP player.
Fluff is where the PC is, not keen on Meta gaming and Munkin play, in my view RPGs are not about 'winning' a game but 'playing' a game. If my PC gets killed, I am fine with that, as long at it follows the logic of the world and what the PC would do. I love roll playing not playing RPGS, play 1st rules 2ed.
5. Why you are applying to this game?
To try out a new and original PC, in a setting that will allow me to see what she is like and how she will act. A chance to intercalate with other interesting PCs. I really want to see how a group will bond in this settning
6. Define what you think good role-playing is in PbP.
Roll play over ruleslawyering, I like the rule of cool, I good roll player should really understand and play their PCs as they are, not to the rules and not for an idea of a 'Win' it means more to me of the PC is real over OHK power PCs.
7. What is your experience with this adventure path?

Lady Kyoko and Moriko her Father Okiro Moriko have been working as spys and assassins for hire. They are not evil as such, they do not kill out of hand but to order. Mostly they where asked to check on husbands, or uncover wrong doings. They had come to the Riddleport five years before looking for a run away prince, they never found him but they did find work here and low on coin they started working for who ever paid the best. Kyoko's father had trained her for an early age in the arts of the Ninja, just has his feather had strained him. He was not her blood father, no he had paid good coin for her, even over a son because of her gifts. He had not known her real family saying only she had been sold to her by a slaver. She had loved him, he could be a very kind man, a half elf he had skills of his own. For a time he could change from but nothing as long as her. Recently she had shown him how she could take the from not only of some one she had observed for a time but also a fox. He had said he would up her training when 7 mouths ago he tool on a commotion alone. He always found them work and dealt with payments and contracts. All he said was he was heading into the woods with a group and would be back in two weeks. Two weeks came and went, nothing then 2 letters, one from her father saying not to worry, and the other saying he was dead. She had been trying to find who had dropped them off at their house and where they had gone. But nothing, now the rent was due and she needed work. She had gone over the house and collected what he had left of use, oddly he had left behind the small Ninja Manuel he used to train her, and to study from himself, as if he knew he would not be coming back. Recently she had hired a Pseudodragon by the name of Nex to help her, he had his uses but could be a pain some times. Now she was looking for work, Nex said the Inn in the docks had some, so she was heading there now.
Nurob was happy; he had just fenced some more gear and was heading down to see Maka to hand over the document he had filched for a Blackmail Scam they wanted to pull. Nice noble Elf family with ties to some shady groups. Make him some real cash for once. He slipped in to Old Beekys Inn and grill and make his way to the booths at the back, this deep into the docs area he needed to meet where no one would see him. Maka used this place as his office to keep eyes away from he doings. Nurob popped the door open and backed into the small room checking he was not followed. Once he had the door closed he turned around, saying
"Maka have I got the pape..."
with a shock he stopped. Maka was not there, where Maka should have been there now sat a black haired woman.
She only look just out of her teens, 19 maybe, could be one of Maka's girls.
"Err where Maka girly?"
She took a moment to look him up and down with cold heard eyes , she then said in a clear voice.
"Mr Makadreen decided to give up his life of crime and blackmail and has gone to confess all."
It took a moment, then he burst out laughing then he noted she did not look like she was joking so he stopped and in a gruff voice said.
"Joker A! funny Girl but really where's he gone?"
She looked him hard in the eyes.
"As I said, to confess all, so now Mr Nurob Alfeen Gib please take a seat, I would like some words with you."
Now he looked shocked, the law? another gang? who in black balls was this girl? All this ran through his mind, she even knew is blasted real full name. She has got to be law, ye they wanted him, must be, yer now he was going to be in the big time. Deal with her then off to bigger things. He sat and looked at her, panning her death as he did. She how ever poured him a drink of spice tea. He did not take it, but she had a sip of hers. As she did he felt his leg under the table for his poison tipped dagger.
"Now Mr Gib you have come to my attention in regards to some documents you stole a few days ago from nobles house, please don't deny it we have you accomplice, around 3:30 to be precise, we a footmans outfit invisibility potion."
He looked at her shocked,
Dunking feg she had Billy!
He looked at her heard now,
So she's local, could be working for that stuffy nobel or the law, who is she working arr the noble, yer, that fool trader, so girly now they would talk money!.
What he had in his pocket was an worth 1,000s.
"You come alone?
He asked her.
"Yes"
Shot back her reply.
"Then 4,000 in cut gems, that's the price, and the papers are all yours. Any funny stuff and ill kill ya, tell that elf noble he's lucky I'm willing to sell to him and not others."
She sipped her tea again looking at him.
::"But Mr Gib, your my friend, why not hand them over to me now, to show me how much you like me."::
She held her hand out then from her arm a pull of something and a sharp pain in his chest. He looked down, there sticking out of it was a small dart.
"Err is this some kind of joke?"
He pulled it out but now his arm felt like lead. He looked around, she was still there sipping her tea.
He said, shaking his head, then much louder
"WHAT THE...!!"
He went for his dagger pulling it out and then froze. he could not move his hand out with the blade in it just inches from her head. She had not moved but still sat sipping her tea.
"Thank you Mr Gib, now you have tried to hurt me with.." She got up walked over to him and looked at his dagger.
"My my, with poison no less, Now I don't feel bad about what I have to do, you’re an foolish evil man Mr Gib and evil things are going to happen to you."
He was frozen as reached out her hand and pulled his shirt open, taking out the papers he had hidden there. She read through them and the tucked them away in a belt pouch. Only his eyes could move and he looked at her, There was something very worrying about this woman. Then it hit him, her flesh was changing. She was talking on another form, her face longer and more male.
"O C^£&!!!.
There was a rumour in Riddleport, more a tail
it couldn't be...
The Black heard woman came close very close to his ear, now her new shape was almost done, and pulled the dagger form his hand. Spinning it around she cut his arm with it. Still he could not move.
::"That will be painful very soon, when the poison you put on it starts to take affect. Saves me wasting mine"::
She put the dagger back in his leg sheath slowly. She stepped back so he could see her fully.
"O C^&&^£! O C%£^£" he thought.
"Mr Gib you made a number of mistakes, you should have checked your mark, you should have fully read the papers I now have and you should never have thought about trying this with out Mr Vancaskerkin say so."
She looked at him.
"No no please no"
In the dark streets late at night when bar doors are locked, some whisper that Saul Vancaskerkin hires a couple of shape shifters, when he needs to have someone sorted with out a race, so Gib had been told now looking at him was his own face, the girls clothing gone and Maka was looking at him, his face his clothing.
"So with your mistake I am sorry to say I have been commissioned to set and example of you. You do understand, this is not at all personal Mr Gig it’s just business. You see they hire me when they need things done out of sight and given the toxins in your body, they will very soon be sorted out"
O O^#&& *#^#&*!! O my gods!!
She pushed him over as two other men came in the room.
She spoke then in Maka's voice said,
"Place this one in the acid bath with the late Mr Maka and the fool boy"
As they bent down to pick him up he had pee'ed himself.
She looked at the mess on the floor.
"O well, it will wash out"
Then Maka was alone.
Now to wait for the forth member of this team, such a busy day"
Thought Lady Kyoko,
dad will be happy when he gots back from dumping Gib in the acid bath.

Wow, this was a lot more response that I anticipated.
Tara Ravenheart, ScegfOd, and anyone else wanting more campaign information or background - The Second Darkness AP starts in Riddleport, a city run by crimelords. It is a large port city and has a mysterious Thassalonian structure known as the Cyphergate. A school of wizars known as the Cyphermages study this structure and have some power in the governance of the city. Tieflings are common in Riddleport. The three major temples in the city are dedicated to Cayden Cailean, Calistria and Besmara. More information is available here or in the Second Darkness Player's Companion.
The adventure starts off with a strange blot in the sky hovering over Riddleport for the past several months. No investigation (including magical flight or scrying) was able to determine what, exactly, was going on. In the first book, the PCs found themselves working for an washed up criminal named Saul at a gambling hall called the Gold Goblin. Long story short, they were betrayed by Saul after he determined that the PCs knew too much. He set up an ambush meant to kill the PCs, but they survived. When they returned and took their revenge, they found that Saul had been funneling money to a stranger. They investigated under the Gold Goblin in the smuggler's tunnels and discovered that this person was a drow woman named Depora. They defeated her, but that very evening, a meteor was torn out of the sky and crash-landed into a nearby island called Devil's Elbow. The party recovered a journal and some information that indicates that drow purposefully pulled this meteor from the sky. In addition, a large amount of skymetal was deposited from the meteor, creating a bit of a goldrush. The knowledge of the drow's involvement is not public knowledge; drow are nothing more than a boogeyman in Golarion, except to very few groups (such as the Elven Lantern-Bearers).
ScegfOd - I am considering summoners, but please bear in mind that we already have two front-line martials and a wizard. I would give more consideration to the Unchained Summoner than the APG. You are, of course, permitted to use either sourcebooks.
Faeria/Rilia - Good to see you again! Your character submission is noted. I would prefer a campaign trait. The eternal candle is fine, as well as the Hirelings of the Wild Spell.
GM_Panic - I will give consideration to a Kitsune ninja. I am excited to read over your submission.
Jenner Holystone - Excellent. I was expecting more of an OOC area for me to glean plot hooks from and to make you think about how/why you'd fit into the campaign.
I think I got everyone, but please remind me if I missed something.

Jenner 'Holystone' |

Shiny. Let me know if you need more from me then, but basically, I assume that Jenner is a known face at the Gold Goblin as a frequent customer, has his own grumpily-claimed corner and everything.
Potential plot hook stuff:
1) The mountain expedition he was on 40 years ago probably just got to the near-to-surface local caves before the funding ran out and the dwarves submitted their initial report... but Jenner would still be a logical choice for anyone looking for a guide in the caves. And/or maybe he saw something on that initial expedition that is relevant to the current events...
2) He's at loose ends in a mid-life crisis kind of way, and looking for something Big to get involved in. Of his own volition, he's probably been trying to figure out what that darned blot means (not with much likely success, he's no arcane genius, and only an amateur scholar), but if he catches wind the PCs are learning things about its origin, he'd elbow for a place.
3) Dwarf + skymetal gold rush - do we need to say more? ;)
Anyway, thanks for your consideration of the application.

Double Shiny, :)
Thanks GM, I think she will work well as a counter point in a group to combat types, she a sneaky, blend-in, get close and gut them king of girl with brains and a plan. In a city of crime lords a rich place for a Ninja to work. Thinking Yojimbo and its copy 'Last man standing' Which is a good film. I love the assassins creed games for look and sometime action feel.
Ill be sending a PM about a few things, just so they are checked over.

I'll give you a fist full of dollars if you can tell me the name of another famous Yojimbo remake. ;)

I'm already on-board with the campaign trait.
Rilia's backstory is pretty easy. She's searching for a family member (probably a brother or sister) who has 'gone to the dark side' as it were and is now missing. Since no one alive was present and there is no such thing as drow, Rilia has left Kyonin to find answers and her missing family member. As her previous job was more akin to another religious order's inquisitors she has the skills necessary to get to the heart of things.
As to where, when and how this subplot explodes that's completely up to you, but for location I would suggest the cloud mining facility over Bespin. I hear it's great for family get togethers.

Well Django me, Just can't think of one.
Put some more images up of what she looks like on her sheet.
campaign trait in place and also embedding her background deeper into the setting has its panned out.
GM is it OK if we take a drawback even if it means not counter trait gain. I want to take one to add to her back ground in a good way. Lots of nice plot hooks for her.

If you could come up for a reason for your sister to have been living in Kaer Maga, maybe she could be my childhood best friend (and rival) Daryl. I'm looking for her and she is presumed dead.
Just a thought.

Oh really? I suppose I'll make an unchained summoner then. He'd be a CG Elf with an azata eidolon. He'd be a ranged attacker and I was thinking of having him be a scout for the nearby Elves of Mierani forest.
Is the seeker trait from ultimate campaign alright? I'm thinking seeker and into enemy territory.

Dos this mean that unchained-ninja Is ok to use as well GM for my PC it would be a much better fit.

I'm not seeing a problem with the class right now, but I will have to read over the class and compare it with the unchained rogue before giving my final answer. It'll likely be yes.

Yes, that is fine. I will respond to your PM soon.

Tamiro |

@Lady Kyoko Moriko - Sorry but I would prefer not. Tamiro has been a loner since his family came over the crown of world when he was young, and he has simply paid all his energy towards protecting his mother for this time.
Also, speaking for the group here, we REALLY need some holy healer support. Damage right now really is not a problem. Just my 2 cents for the group.

I've got ideas about the sib character (possible personalities and motives, and such) though I'm planning on leaving much of it up to the GM to surprise me with what form they take in the story as nearly any preexisting elf sub-type NPC that already exists could be my kin with a bit of tweaking. Or they could be designed from scratch too. Regardless, I figure they might be initially unrecognizable to Rilia either because of context or form--at least until they sever my hand at the wrist that is. ;)
I'm not really seeing how you would be childhood rivals though, him or her being a 130-ish and you being in your 20's.
Kaer Maga could work for a setting to have met them in I suppose (really anything could since I can't find them), though it seems a bit out of the way (thematically anyhow) from the rest of the AP.
If the GM and the story are going there, I'd follow, but I don't want to add too many new ingredients to stew that's already simmering. If you know what I mean.

True, I hadn't considered the vast difference in age. No worries, just a thought as I said. Two PCs searching for someone close to them isn't all that far-fetched after all. I don't intend Kaer Maga to be any significant part of the AP, it's just where my character is from originally. My background is a bit "out there" and it probably wouldn't do to have more than my PC involved in the zany antics I am writing into his story prior to his involvement in the AP. As I said previously, I am basing him off of a Final Fantasy character, hah. I'm sure that is not everyone's cup of tea.

Tifa Lockhart? That gourmet guy in 9 with the giant fork? Fran from XII? You're going to have to give me a clue. You're not a chocobo rider are you? ;)

Rilia of the Savored Sting |

I think the crunch is done, I want to work on his backstory a bit more before I post it though.
BTW, the first five elf pics that I chose were all from second darkness, so I picked this one to avoid looking the same as an NPC... I think I like this second darkness already, heh
One of my few pet peeves with the messageboard is the lack of choice one finds among some of the icons. They seem to have more images of surprised-looking, semi-intelligent red lizards, and pre-painted miniatures than they do of some the game's core races like their very own big-eared, huge-iris elves for example. Tengu, and Kitsune are another couple of popular races that seem very under-served by the images in the gallery. I would say the same about Vanara too, but only because I really like 'em. Imean if they were going to make their elves distinctive the least they could would be to give us a good selection of them as compared to say gnomes.
But damn! There are a lot of half-elves! It's like living in digital Falcon's Hollow around here sometimes. ;)

I'm the same, its has so few, had a talk with a mod about this and its down to Copy rights and rights to publish its, its why you can't upload your own. I can see It from their side. Last think Paizo needs is angry Copy right holders demanding payment. What always try and do is find an image that represents the look of my PC and place it under ALT name. So it can be licked on. An image really dos say a 1000 words when it comes to PC Description.
This is the one image I have found, out of a number that epitomizes Lady Kyoko Moriko.
Just as a suggestion and something cool to do who do other feel about posting the one image say that sums up how they see their PC

Celestial Eagle |

I think this should be good enough...
Caladrel grew up in Mierani forest with
Later, when Caladrel came of age, he tried to join the military. Caladrel eventually managed to join a team of scouts, after a few false starts (some elves aren’t fond of snake people, especially in the military where they have to occasionally kick out discourage filthy bandits foreigners).
It turned out that Hibana was well suited to be a scout; in fact, they didn’t really want Caladrel to join, but she helped Caladrel cheat assisted Caladrel with the trails.
Once part of the team, they dealt with minor threats all throughout the Mierani. Usually dealing with small groups of bandits or the occasional wild animal(s), but one episode worthy of note involved the disappearance of some local merchants and some strange fungus looking creatures.
Caladrel’s team leader was lucky unlucky enough to find the cave with the russet moss. Caladrel and Hibana were ordered to keep an eye on the cave entrance from a nearby tree while the rest of the team went to get reinforcements. Unfortunately Fortunately, Caladrel’s summons were able to take the brunt of the moss spores during the actual attack on the slimy hole of moldy death cave, and only one of his fellows was seriously injured.
After proving his worth getting so lucky, Caladrel was given orders to go to a cesspit filled with criminals[s] Riddleport and investigate another [s]deathtrap mysterious problem. Reluctantly With all due enthusiasm, Caladrel followed his orders and made his way to a friend’s place, the Golden Goblin, to ask for help investigating.
Caladrel is in riddleport to accomplish a mission: figuring out what in riddleport is connected to the blot and then either eliminating it (if possible) or reporting back so that the higher ups can figure out a way to deal with it.
I’m planning on getting Focused Shot next level
One of the reasons that the party needs healing is that they don’t have some nice summoned monsters to act as decoys, a summoner would help a lot with that. How do the frontliners feel about flanking bonuses and a sometimes mounted archer buddy? At level 5, Caladrel can summon lantern archons, who in turn can spam the aid spell at will for 1d8+3 temp hitpoints (and a modest +1 morale to hit will saves vs fear)
Summoners get UMD and Caladrel is going to use that for wands of CLW and probably other things, and let’s be honest, even clerics like to bust out wands of CLW unless they want to just sit around during and after combat spending all their spell slots on healing.
Also, if Summon Good Monster is allowed, Caladrel can get some healing power from azatas and agathions (especially from SM5, but also SM3)

True on all points, but how many books with pictures of elves have they done since Second Darkness? There are probably as many or more examples of drow than actual PC-playable elves and nearly all of them came from books published a decade ago. That and the more usable elf images often look a lot like Merisiel. Not that there is anything wrong with Merisiel but a little variance would probably be a good thing. And what the heck is with all the half-elves any way? They're as thick as drow characters from the nineties. Heck there are more dwarf and gnome iconics than elves, and a goodly number of more interesting half-orcs or orcs that can pass for them, but Paizo made their elves distinctive and now it's like they don't want to share. Anyhow that's my image rant and I'm sticking too it. We now rejoin our thread already in progress.

Rilia arrives in Riddleport looking for information regarding her POI, investigating the matter perhaps against the wishes of certain factions in Kyonin. It might be a physical trail that leads there, a paper chase or credible rumors of the person, or perhaps Rilia has information (notes, journal entries, witnesses) that prove the POI was interested in the Blot.
