Thandir pulled out one of the scrolls, read it, and watched as it warped and transformed into a large two handed axe.

As you push open the doors, you see a very large room, with a basin in the center.

There is a rising sound of music, graceful, upon violin and piano. Moreover, you see a group of spectral people dancing around the basin.

As Belegar curiously comes around the corner at the mention of 'killing ghosts', Uke starts dancing on the spot to the tune of the music, as if in a trance.

The spectral dancers now come towards the group.... a ball is afoot once more.

This phenomenon is, appropriately named, called a Dance Macabre.
A malevolant spirit which surrounds itself with the dancing spirits of its victims.

Those who fall under its sway start dancing without end, until they are either out of range or the spirit is dispersed.

It often dwells in buildings which have ballrooms or other spaces for occasions like a ball or party.

Undead traits.

Belegar sings a song of his people in defiance to the grotesque song of the dead.
Everyone can choose to take effects or not: +2 to strength, con and will, -1 to AC. Affects concentration.

From the crowd of spectral dancers, one passing by is the cloaked scythe specter, swinging its weapon at Thandir, before going back into the crowd.

Spectral scythe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 Force dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7
Con drain: 1d2 ⇒ 1, a sliver of Thandir's life force is sapped away, as the ghostly scythe cuts him.

Pick highest: 2d20 ⇒ (19, 6) = 25 Hit: 19 + 13 = 32

Thandir moved forward, his axe in hand. It wasn't *his* axe, rather it had been made via a scroll. It hit home with full force, despite the spectral nature of the foe.

With Jurgan and Uke dancing in their spot, it seemingly falls on Thandir's shoulders to fight the specter, and his temporary axe of force deals some very respectable dmg.

With vital strike you only add your weapon's dice to the dmg total. That will become a 6d6 +6 +2 fervor, total of 24.

Sorry! Realize that at lvl6 I have BaB 4. This means power attack is +6 damage. Thus it becomes 3d6 (base) + 3d6 (vital strike) + 6 (str) + 6 (power attack) + 1 (weapon training) + 2 (divine favor) for 6d6+15. Total of 31 damage

Feeling lightheaded, Thandir raised his axe overhead, and with a roar brought it down squarely between the spirit’s eyes. A killing blow if there ever was one.

And killing there would be indeed, were the spirit not already dead.
However, the axe comes down with solid force on the spirit, as it came closer in the dancing crowd.

A hollow grunt follows, and then the spirit disperses, leaving the ballroom quiet again, and the trio of dancing adventurers back to their senses.

GM is not sorry for the pun. ^^
As all is quiet again, a first glance reveals a fine ballroom, with paintings on some spots, of natural scenery and portrait of a loving couple together.

A grand staircase leads to a second floor, and a few doors are on both sides of the ballroom.

Thandir stood there, unsteadily. He was lightheaded...he felt drained, but didn’t understand why. It wasn’t like he was wounded.

”Let’s check this first floor first. Destroy all the evil within and then go to the second floor. Look out, evil! Fullplate and packing steel!”

Thandir slowly pushes it open, and looks into a kitchen, where a person stands bent over the bench at the wall, who doesn't seem to have noticed the door opening.
