Male Human Commoner 2

Sorry if the tone of the last post was overly hostile. Little sleep plus this running through my sleepless mind. I really am seeking communication and clarification on what you've got in mind, whilst letting you know I'm not terribly interested in a redemption story at this point.

Yea, Tis, that kinda flies directly in the face of everything we literally just talked about.

And I am really sorry Arathoth is leaving, as I went out of my way to try and fix the issues he had, and now it seems like it didn't stick.(Not blaming him)

What Tis did is exactly what he complained to me about: The older gods, picking on the younger ones, because they don't like what the new ones are doing.

Was the scene with Theiren in character for Tis? Yes, absolutely, but once again, there was zero communication, especially with me.

If you all want to talk things out in PM, that's awesome, but please, please, please, keep me informed, otherwise, this game is going to fail, and that will make me rather sad, as I was really enjoying this group of gods.

(So, just realized that I want getting updated on the gameplay thread. Catching up now.)

Ok, our plan in this:

This happening was originally conceived as a way to bring gods together against a threat to everyone, which Zakaz currently is. He is running on pure instinct and will find and attack everyone eventually if not dealt with. Think of it as a community event in an effort to reduce the internal strife levels we appear to be having as deities.

Zakaz must be defeated, the dagger removed.
What do you do?

I figured you had more in mind. The one God Therien actually respects is Zakaz. The blood connection is strongly felt on his end, and in a twisted bit of irony, this is Therien's first truly compassionate action. It's perfect if it gets rejected. :)

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

Rejected is a strong word. Zakaz is currently incapable of manifesting shards of himself for fluff reasons. So, while you're free you take it as a rejection, Therien can feel that Zakaz isn't there. Just an imprint or scent of him is present, like smoke on the wind.

To be fair, that's about all you would feel if he were stalking you, right? But, OTOH, I could probably sense the lack of his blood & pain.

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

In the echo, yes. The echo is what turns you onto the fact that he is recoverable.

Quick little tidbit! Shess infused vestige into the dagger which Zakaz now controls. 5 AP

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

Aka: it's a super nasty piece of work and someone will probably have to fight Shess to control it. That's why it's giving me +2d6 in combat

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

With all the other good gods having been inactive, it's up to Tissari to be super nice.

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

Zakaz has officially gone mad. That song was awesome, and the encouraging plea as well. It seems, however, that you drew the last of Zakaz from his withdrawn state, only to have his suppressed by Shess's dagger (or whatever you guess is causing this). :)

Male Fae King Oracle 21(Elemental)/Druid 21

I've had a very busy weekend, coupled with being sick, so it may not be till late tomorrow or Mon that I post.

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

Welp. It turns out that if you get Tissari pissed enough, you really should be terrified :P

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

Oh, and my new domain came from the creation of the Seraph Aegis and the Heart of Storms, which came to 8 AP. Everybody cool with that?

So, because it seemed to be missed, the place where Zakaz was tortured was a "little" place below the shard. Not Shess' lair. And, when searched there will be many terrible tools but no blood will be in the room...teehee

Also, though I appreciate Tissari's enthusiasm, I would love to coordinate with you to continue this epic. As I coordinated with Zakaz before combat between us.

I accept my role as a villan as I have from the beginning and hold no illusions against my inevitable demise. But I see no reason why it must be quick. I chose subtle quiet villany to enhance the story. I'm not trying to be the person to just knock over sand castles.

Shess, while on the subject, can you change your profile stats to accurately reflect your combat stats?

Pretty sure since you haven't spent points to hide it and it's my Domain, I could find the blood pretty easily. Too bad I'm not looking.... Yet.

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

As mentioned in gameplay, the area where the tail of blood and corruption leads is just the torture chamber, not Shess' actual lair

I was going to write a long drawn out response but will just say nope. As per the point of this game I require coordination with me before combat with Shess. Zakaz and Azrael as my witness, I have always discussed terms of victory for either side. This conversation will likely produce a collaborative story.

EDIT: Shess too the blood to his lair

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

K, sorry I missed that. Will post a more accurate Tissari post soonish. On mobile right now, so it's difficult.

Regarding Shess' role in the story, I think that they should be able to roll up a new god once Shess is defeated.

Regardless of whether combat occurs, it would be nice if your stats were accurate on your profile. A couple of people don't have them updated to accurate reflect them at this point and it would make things smoother in general if we could.

Yeah, even if I were to search out missing blood (if it isn't all in the torture chamber, which is how I read your post), I would wait till you told me what I found since you know where it is and I don't.

Zakaz, how do you feel about Azrael throwing you into another plane? He would likely try to take this fight to The Shallows to keep him from destroying the entire Material Plane with his presence, but I figured I ought to ask before I do something like that outright. Azrael doesn't currently have much stake in the Material Plane, but he does have plans for things he wants to occur there and he was technically born there as well. Other gods have more reason to try and move him, but Azrael is, I think, the god with the most combat power fighting him at the moment so story-wise it makes sense that he might move him as opposed to someone else.

We could also go to the Vault, but Azrael would also likely go to his sanctum to gain the combat advantage.

EDIT: It just occurred to me, if Zakaz has the dagger would Azrael be able to sense that? Would he be able to feel the presence of the dagger since it affects his domains? I know I can feel it when it was created, but does it still give off an aura I can detect? Either way, defeating gods in combat gives the ability to claim relics they may be holding. Azrael cares little for the stuff Zakaz has made and wouldn't strip him of it, but he'd likely take the dagger if possible.

Also, I understand the plan is that we would at some point slay Shess, but are we freeing Zakaz or is the plan that he would perish as well?

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

The rules are a bit hazy about the dagger, but that's in the future

For now, we should discuss getting me of planet, if not off plane. Tiss PM'd me about this as well, so we should probably get our ideas on the table.

As I said, I would move you to The Shallows. It's where Azrael would want to go, and he's currently the one doing the most in terms of damage in the fight and he'd do even more if he were there. If he moves him anywhere, it'd be there. If someone else moves him I'm okay going to the Vault.

My thoughts on the dagger were that you would sense the connection through domain and likely connect the creation of something to what you are sensing now. Though, whether you sense specifically a dagger seems a stretch, but something about Zakaz has that feel.

The Sun is also another plane, although I don't see any special benefit to taking the fight there beyond getting it off the planet and the cool visual I get of a broken sun should Therien die there.

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

Oh, goodness.

Sorry guys.

Um...

Yeah.

Apparently, my Campaigns tab bugged out, and didn't alert me about the entirety of the last page of discussion and a little bit after that.

Reckless, I'm sorry for kind of godmodding your character a little bit. Really, I am. I did not intend that at all, and I realize I kinda made a stupid mistake.

I was going to do something even dumber, but looking over the Discussion posts I've missed, I realize that would be really, really dumb of me and would probably actually get me kicked from the game.

Once again, I'm sorry for my behavior. Like I said, I did not get any of the last fifty or so posts of discussion alerted in my Campaigns tab, and missed out on all the mediating and stuff that happened.

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

Well, now you know. :)

What are your thoughts on evicting me from creation?

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

I have a plan. Mwahahaha! I'm clearing it with Monkeygod and Shess first though, in order to make sure we don't have a bunch of drama.

Well, that explains why you didn't reply. :)

If you still want to work something out with the story, let me know here or by PM (being sure to cc Monkey) and we can handle it in gameplay still as flashbacks or something similar.

I certainly didn't intend to wholey circumvent your story. Without you responding, I just felt I had to move forward.

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

Yeah, sorry. I feel like it could be a source of amusing anecdotes, if nothing else.

Tissari, what is your plan exactly? I know you're talking it over with some other people, but since we're involved I'd love to know what it is you're thinking.

I haven't commented in quite awhile for a number of reasons, including being sick, and having a very busy weekend.

However, I have also been seriously considering nuking this game, and trying to start over fresh.

Between loosing Arathoth, which really bothers me, the debacle that was that aborted scene with Tiss and Therien, and my strong dislike of how this current scene began, and how it's currently being handled, I'm thinking that perhaps starting over may not be a bad idea.

The utter and blatant lack of communication is beyond frustrating and unacceptable. There's been rampant godmodding, short cut taking, hardly any cooperation and poor story telling.

Why did Zakaz freak out when Shess turned two of his Cull, of which I imagine there's thousands if not millions, into stone? Did those two mean so much more than the rest? Zakaz doesn't seem like the kind of deity to have a personal connection to his creations, especially just two of them.

Tiss, while I understand you were apparently not getting discussion notifications, why didn't you come over here and post yourself to talk things over with Therien?

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

I just didn't think of that, honestly. There wasn't a lot of indication in the gameplay thread that I needed to come to Discussion, although that's probably because I didn't notice it. It's been an issue of miscommunication from the very start, I think, and although some of the storytelling has been entertaining, I kind of agree with you.

Now that we've got some ground rules set - no godmodding, talk to other Gods before you initiate a major plotline with them/PVP, clear big actions with you or another mod first - I would honestly be fine with taking a deep breath, sweeping aside all this drama, and starting again.

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not innocent of some of the problems that have plagued this game. It's very much different than the pathfinder I'm used to. I have played games like this before, but it's been a while and this style is something that takes some learning (and re-learning, apparently).

That said, I think the recent troubles have helped. I have certainly learned from them.

My question to the universal reset is: could we play refined versions of our current characters if we chose? Zakaz as the god of life has really grown on me and I'd like to keep exploring that if we go for v2.0

If we reset, my plan is to keep the initial world, plus the island Lir made, the moon, and the sun. But, none of the races, societies, inventions, etc.

Probably also keep the stars, and the concept of the afterlife.

We would keep the same gods(unless somebody wanted to switch, obviously) but most of our AP actions would be erased.

However, to offset this, we'll get 25AP to start.

I'm also thinking that we need to set an amount of RL time to have passed before you can ascend to the next level.

Liberty's Edge

Perhaps an increase in the amount of supporting AP required to gain a domain would slow things down while encouraging actually building one's portfolio with relevant actions? If, for example, we change it to requiring 12 AP worth of supporting actions, the 3 to gain the first extra domain =15, leaving us with 10. The next week, it might be possible to get the second if we had joined a pantheon and got 5 instead of 4. After that, at 5/6 a week, it will take a couple of weeks for each Domain, but will accelerate a bit as we get more powerful.

If you wanted to slow it down as power increases, perhaps something like 8+ 2x the number of Domains you already have (initially 10 AP, 12 when you gain your first in game Domain, 14 when you gain the second and ascend to Lesser Diety, then 16, 18, etc... requiring more investment in world-building as you wish to increase your power.)

If we start over then I am out. This is not out of any indignation, but ease for me. That being said, Shess will have achieved his goal of a semblance of another war of the gods.

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

I like the idea of scaling cost for domains. It will be a true challenge to reach elder god!

I also recommend proxy wars. I think this game was designed with less god vs god god combat in mind. Since we engaged in a lot of that we kinds forced some of the system's cracks into the light. I think if we focused more on the societies and people under our influence the system may work better. Maybe.

I would be sad to see you go, Shess. You are a good bad guy. :)

I know I made some mistakes with certain assumptions of what Therien would know about other gods actions when I started off; any further posts will reflect lessons learned there.

How about a new rule titled Beneath my notice: No God may initiate a battle with another God of a lower tier. They have enough power to reverse/counter the actions of 'lesser beings'. If a lower tier God initiates combat with a greater God, the consequences are on them.

That may force a little more creativity on the responses of the older Gods as well.

Just a thought.

Lesser Goddess | 6 AP | Attack 6d6, Defense 4d6, HP 40/40 | Domains: Creativity (technology), Passion (invention), Magic (magery), Knowledge (science)

Hmmm, that sounds like a good idea, actually.

So, to get a headcount, we still have:

Zakaz
Therien
Tissari
Lir
Azrael

We should contact all the A gods (Atheos, Apedemak, Aranae) to see if they're still in and if they're willing to reset.

Oh, also I believe you were doing the multi diety combat wrong. Basically all dice are rolled at the same time. Then the total attack number is subtracted from the defense number.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Fledgling Deity | AP 5/50 | A4D6 | D3D6 | HP 30/30

I am still here as well, though as a fledgling deity I am struggling hard not to get involved in the Godsfeud. (Flaming bird hides behind Tissari's skirts.)

Also, my new job is going relatively well. It's a lot of training and a lot of stress at first, but it has become significantly less stressful recently and I am actually starting to enjoy it a little.

If that's the case then this will be over soon by virtue of damage alone

So, let me see if I'm understanding Lortimas' deal right. It's grateful for any help, and probably won't mess with you if you leave it alone. But if there's a way for Lortimas to get more wealth and/or power, it'll absolutely throw you under the bus, and if you actively antagonize it, Lortimas will fight nasty, dirty, and without any mercy.

Am I about right on the mark there?

Intermediate Deity 9d6 pool, min 1d6; currently Attack: 3d6 Defense: 6d6 HP: 44/90 | Current AP: 0 | Weekly AP gain: 6+2

So what do we say to getting this thing over with (the fight) then pushing the big red button?
