GM Woran
Sorry, I got Snowflake's armor class wrong. The hit should have been a miss
Dayo: Resorts to punching Grayst, in the hopes of knocking the man out.
The punches are effective, but Grayst remains on his feet.
Vitro: Crab walks out of the room.
Eoghan: Tries to get a grip on Grayst, but gets a fist for his troubles.
unarmed strike VS Eoghan: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Vy "Snowflake" Baro
Vy thinks his friends could use some help
Cast defensively vs DC17: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 but fails to cast Bless
Vitro heals 5 HP. Vy takes 5 HP damage. Vy switches from Vitro to Eoghan, maintaining the lifelink with Dayo as well.
GM Woran
Oh yeah he has more nonlethal. My bad
Snowflake: Tries to defensively cast a spell but fails.
Grayst: Seems even more enarged that one of his targets is out of the room.
He swings at Snowflake twice, while growling and looking trough the doorway.
unarmed strike VS Snowflake: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
unarmed strike VS Snowflake: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

You hear another person arrive behind you. "Get the sedative!"

Snowflake, Vitro and Eoghan are up!
Eoghan Miskos
Eoghan jumps on the prone man, still attempting to grapple.
Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
If he has Combat Reflexes, he gets another attack. The prone penalty to AC also counts for CMD, I believe. I might need it. >_>
"Where are your orderlies, man?! This person has gone insane!"
GM Woran
Eoghan: Now that Grayst is on the ground, Eoghan manages to grab hold of him.
Justin: Taps Eoghan for extra strength
Grayst: Trashes around, trying to break the grapple.
combat maneuver: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
But Eoghan holds him tight.
Orderlies: You hear some rummaging from the room behind you. "We got the sedative. Either make us some room, or one of you apply it. Just hold it to his face."
Both orderlies are in the hall. One of them holds a wet rag.
Round 5
Snowflake 9 damage
Vitro 1 damage
Eoghan
Justin
Grayst 16 nonlethal, prone
Habe
Orderlies
Dayo
Dayo is up!
Vitro and Snowflake are in delay and can act any time.
Vy "Snowflake" Baro
since I can not do subdual damage, I will remain in my form as damage sponge but I will give foot step out of the room for the orderlies
Eoghan Miskos
With his newfound strength (thanks, Justin!), Eoghan tries to maintain the grapple and turn it into a pin.
Grapple check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
With the +6 from Justin, my CMD to escape the grapple is now 23.
GM Woran
THat is a pin!
With Eoghan pinning Grayst to the ground, the orderlies rush in not long after, one helping to hold Grayst his head still, the other pressing the rag to his face.
After a few seconds, Grayst his eyes droop, and he slowly goes limp. One of the orderlies retrieves a new straitjacket, and with some effort, they hoist Grayst into the jacket.
While not having done anything during the fight, Habe looks like he has run a mile. He's breathing hard and sweating. "Oh Abadar be praised. This is all awefull. I am so sorry. I had no idea he would react so strongly. I beg your forgiveness. Is there anything I can do for you? Do you require any healing?"
Vy "Snowflake" Baro
Lay on Hands: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
"No, I can take care of myself. I would say he has been instructed to do what he just did. Something about us triggered it. He said something about a skinsaw man and his Lordship. I think they are the some because both are coming. Coming to Misgivings. That's either a name to a place or maybe an obscure holiday"
Justin Norvegicus
|
Justin starts prestidigitating the two, whiskers bristling as he looks over their wounds.
"ANd you two need to tell us the second you start to feel funny. No "maybe it was just a sandwhich" or "oh but it was only a scratch" or "who HASN"T thought of skinning justin and making a coat". We may want to get a couple of those funny coats to go... "
Eoghan Miskos
Eoghan sheepishly taps Justin on the shoulder. "Er, if it isn't too much of a hassle, could you do a Presto or three on me as well? I was in close contact with him, and I think he drooled on me. No wounds as far as I know, but just to be sure..."
''Vitro'' Wizjietroczenon
Vitro waves his hands at Eoghan and intones in a deadpan voice; "This is not the madman drool you are covered with."
GM Woran
The orderlies lift Grayst into the bed with the help of Dayo.
Habe carefully comes over, and checks Grayst pulse.
"His heart is still beating strong. Maybe whatever it was that was planted in his mind is now gone. I would have to check after the sedative wears off. Hopefully it is. Then maybe the poor man will get a chance to heal."
Hame ushers everyone out of the door and back to the common room downstairs.
"Again my deepest aplogies. I... I hope you dont think less of me and my establishment."

Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
"I know of that place.. it used to be called Foxglove Manor but nowadays people call it the Misgivings. An abandoned estate seems like the sort of place ne'er-do-wells could hang out.."
Eoghan Miskos

Vitro waves his hands at Eoghan and intones in a deadpan voice; "This is not the madman drool you are covered with."
Will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
"Ha ha, very funny, Vitro, but please. I'm covered in drool, I'm getting quite anxious. The sooner this is off me, the smaller the chance I turn into him in a few days."
To Habe, he replies, "When you check on him again, please keep the sedative ready. This might have been a one-time thing, but it might not. Please be careful. Also, I see you're doing your best with the materials given to you. Sarenrae would be proud of you. No harm done."
''Vitro'' Wizjietroczenon
Vitro turns to Justin "And that is how you convince someone they're still dirty even after you cleaned them up."
To Habe: "Just like, keep some paper nearby and write down anything odd he says. It might be important."

Vitro turns to Justin "And that is how you convince someone they're still dirty even after you cleaned them up."
To Habe: "Just like, keep some paper nearby and write down anything odd he says. It might be important."
"Yes, because I need to do more work than I usually need to.. "
Will clean the party as thoroughly as he can, given their weird nudity taboos.
GM Woran
At Eoghans comment a lot of tension goes out of Habe. "Thank you. It is such a relief to hear that. We do our best, you know? Its not glamerous work, but it needs to be done. There is a lot of misunderstanding about this line of work. Sometimes we just have to protect people against themselves."
He straightens his jacket. "I will keep notes of anything mister sevilla might say and Ill make sure to pass it on."
GM Woran
Habe shakes Dayo's hand. "Again I am sorry. Let me give you a few things that might help you continue your investigation."
Habe calls for one of the orderlies, and a few minute later the orderly returns, carrying a few items.
"I hope these potions will help you."
He hands you a potion of cure moderate wounds and a potion of gaseous form.
Justin Norvegicus
|
"I'd like to head back to town, get the priest of abadar, hand him one of these items and see if it amounts to a house call. That guy smells really, really wrong. Even for a human. I'm pretty sure I can't smell crazy or dinner with my cousins would have gone a lot better with notice... "
Eoghan Miskos
"I agree with Justin. I mean, I'm not one to turn down gifts, but we barely did anything. Maybe they could be better used to heal this poor man. We should be paying you for interrupting and being willing to help us."
In fact, it sounds a little too good to be true. Sense Motive anyways.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
GM Woran
Habe waves the concerns away. "Whatever ails mister Sevilla is not cured by a simple potion. Ive tried. I keep a few on hand, in case something bad happens."
He looks to the stairs. "Like Pidget getting his grubby paws on a sharp object. Anyway, I have them delivered once in a while if I have to use one. The other potion was mis-delivered, but they never were able to track where it was supposed to go, so rather then waste another corier, they let me keep it. I have no use for it."
Dayo
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (7) - 3 = 4
"I understand. You've given this man all the aid you can, but he's proved beyond your abilities. That's how I felt when I was overcome by Goblins. I realized then that I needed help. Let us help you. We're more than happy to go to town and bring back a priest. I'm sure nobody would think less of you or your establishment."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
GM Woran
Habe looks highly uncomfortable. "I... I would be forever in your debt if you would. See... It... It hasnt been going financially well here for some time. And its expensive to get a cleric come all the way here, when its not their rounds you see. Luckily our current patients dont require much."
He looks dedjectetly at his hands. "Its, hard you know. Seeing what you build, fail."
GM Woran
For the sake of speed
Habe gives you all a firm handshake, and promises to send a message if Sevilla says anything interesting, and to keep you appraised of his condition.
The horses take you back trough the scenic hinterlands back to sandpoint.
Back at the garrison Sheriff Hemlock seems to be in a state. You're sure he would have torn out some hair in frustration, were it not that he's already bald as a pea.
As you enter, he composes himself. "Ah, you have returend. Good. Good. How was mister Sevilla?"
Eoghan Miskos
"Deathly ill, I'm afraid. We couldn't figure out what's wrong with him, but he's wasting away in there. I'd give him a week, at maximum. We'd like to send a priest that way, if possible. Maybe he can cure him. Or, if not, perform the last rites." Eoghan shrugs, trying to be nonchalant about it, but you can see he's affected. "Anyway, nothing useful came out. He even attacked us in a flash of frenzy. But he did point us towards The Misgivings, or Foxglove Manor. Seems like someone referred to as "the lordship" lives there. So I guess we'll head there next?"
Eoghan falls silent, but then remembers the poor situation Habe is in. "Oh yeah, I'm not sure if this falls under your jurisdiction or not, but the sanatorium is in quite a bad shape. The people working there seem understaffed and overworked. They could use some helping hands, or some money for better facilities. I don't know if it falls under your responsibilities, but maybe you could send some petty criminals up there for rehabilitation or something. You know, community service? Helping out, and becoming a better person in the process?"
Eoghan realises what he's asking is out of line, and he mumbles, "I'm sorry, I'm not unfamiliar with what mental health patients go through, it hit a little close to home. Ignore what I said."
You've never seen Eoghan be this impassioned about a subject before.
Dayo
Dayo, unfamiliar with the concepts and workings of "elder care", or money in general, follows up Eoghan's request with, "Sheriff, Doctor Habe means well, but he could use some assistance. I am unsure how many metal coins that entails, or how many workers he needs, but anything I am sure would be a blessing."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

The Sheriff looks a bit perplexed. "What, helping Habe? I thought he was a qua... faking most of it. But... you seem convinced about him... I will take it under concideration."
The Sheriff is a Shoanti, and would defenitely have some predjudice against docters like Habe. There is quite a bit of superstition about mentall illness in th Shoanti tribes. Which would explain why Habe was scared of the Sheriff.
At the mention of the Misgivings, the Sheriff Hemlock starts to pace.
"The misgivings. This is all too coincidental. While you were all away, a man stumbled into the village. His name is Maester Grump. His farmland borders the misgivings. I better take you to see him."
The Sheriff leads you to a small back room, where an older man in plain work clothes, covered in mud and sweat, sits clutching a mug of water.
Ive added his portrait to the third slide of the map
Farmer Grump breaks into frantic babbling as soon as he spots you, nervously muttering about... walking scarecrows?
Eoghan Miskos
"Calm down man, calm down. One syllable at a time. I've heard enough ramblings for today. Take a sip of water, and start at the beginning."
He seems on edge. Sense motive on the guy, just in case.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

“Tell them what you just told me,” the sheriff squeezes the man's shoulder. “Slowly. Deep breaths.”
“Y-Yes. Yes.” The man’s ragged breathing slowed a bit as he looks up from his cup. “Th-The southern farmlands. They’re-They’re plagued. The walking scarecrows. They’ve been coming out at night, y’see.”
The man clutches the mug untill his knuckles turn white. “They-They’re demons! Monsters that stalk the night. We’ve been sayin’ for days that there was something that ain’t right about the Hambley farm. Things just ain’t been right there. They just… They just ain’t.
A couple of us… We went out to the Hambley farm yesterday evening to see if we c-could help. B-But…” He started to shake violently.
“Easy, man. Easy,” the sheriff makes the man take a sip from the water. “They’re going to help. You just need to finish your story.”
“I’m s-sorry, sheriff.” The man wipes his nose and stared off in the distance. “We went to h-help, but they attacked us. They looked like corpses, but they fed like starving wolves! They even ate the dogs! I barely escaped with my life. And my niece… My poor Nyssa…” He breaks down into uncontrollable sobs.
The sheriff gestured for you to follow him away from the farmer. “Maester Grump is the only one who made it, it sounds like. My men found him on the other side of the bridge screaming about walking scarecrows.

"Did they manage to injure any of you? Lying could put you and your family in jeopardy. "
He leans over to eoghan "what are the odds of overcoming that weird human nudity taboo here? "
