I believe my username is either TheRiotNerd or AlanaRay. I'll double check after I get done at work. :)

Having some issues with computer today, will update as soon as possible.

![]() |

Sorry about that. Anyway, I'm up and running. If everyone will follow the link and sign in (those who can). You find yourselves in an abandoned blacksmith's shop.

Jacques Corbett |

Ditto

![]() |

Okay, those of you who have checked in should be able to see something, now. Check the lower right-hand corner of the map.

Aleksei Yarovich |

Aleksei tried not to get antsy as they gathered inside the old smithy.
Still only seeing the black box... any ideas?

Aleksei Yarovich |

Yep. Zoomed all the way out, all I see is a small black box in the upper left quadrant and the gray background on the rest of the page, even in the lower right.

Jacques Corbett |

It's in the bottom right corner of the black box. It's a darkened area and we can only see so far.

![]() |

Try it now, Aleksei. Until you checked in as a player, I could not connect you to the character, so you were unable to see the battlefield. You should be able to see, now.

Aleksei Yarovich |

I think I'm logged in as a player. I have a screen shot if you want to see what I see. I'll PM it to you, if I can.

Aleksei Yarovich |

I sent a PM on Roll20 with an image of what I am seeing, but I can continue without it, as I have a pretty good Theater of the Mind brain, if I do say so myself.
Aleksei pats his Mosin affectionately, as if soothing it. He looks about, trying to see if he can get a good view of the sniper without himself getting exposed.
Notice, Wild: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d6 ⇒ 4

Jacques Corbett |

A little unsure as to where the sniper is since I theoretically noticed him earlier... Gonna make a contributive roll to Aleksei's to try and point him out.
Notice: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Notice Ace: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Notice Ace: 1d4 ⇒ 2= 10, which contributes 2 to Aleksei's roll if I'm remembering these rules right.
Notice Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Jacques steps next to the Russian, crouching low, and turns his shoulder slightly, adjusting his aim. "Up zere, do you see?"

Aleksei Yarovich |

That's correct as I understand it. 1 for your success and 1 for your raise.
Aleksei nods at Jacques. "Da," he whispers, "He is probably spotting for the machine-gunner. We need to remove his eyes."

![]() |

Aleksei, that should fix your issue.
With Jacques' aid, Aleksei is able to sight the sniper, atop a building across the way. He seems to have lost track of the group momentarily.

![]() |

"Alright, I'll sprint ahead and try and advance our position."
Daniel steps into the night, trying to get closer to the enemy position.
I'll move ahead 6, but the map seems to only show us 3 squares.
Stealth: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Stealth ACE!: 1d6 ⇒ 5
WILD Stealth: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Aleksei Yarovich |

Aleksei can see!
Morgan steps out before Aleksei can stop him. He looks to the Lieutenant. "Do I think it is wise for him to go out just yet? They already know someone is out here in the field. I want to take down that sniper as much as the rest of us, but he is most likely not alone out there."
To be sure, Aleksei sight his weapon towards the sniper. "Say the word, boss."

Robert "Bobby" Northbrook |

"On the other 'and, mate, that sniper seems to have lost us for the time being - do you want to give away our position to *everyone* out there by firing a shot at 'im, or should we just keep on sneakin'?"

![]() |

Lt. Thayer replies to Aleksei, "Not yet. Northbrook is right. We shoot the sniper, then they know exactly where we are. We should try to be more stealthy."
"Can I count on the four of you," he indicates Northbrook, Yarovich, Morgan, and Corbett, "To take care of that problem?"
As he speaks, the clouds covering the moon part, providing a view of the battlefield.

Robert "Bobby" Northbrook |

Trying to catch up with Daniel...
Stealth&Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 5 = 5, Success
How many rolls this time?

![]() |

Daniel moves up to the corner of the nearest building, peaking out and trying to get a better viewpoint.
Stealth: 1d6 ⇒ 4
wild stealth: 1d6 ⇒ 3
notice: 1d6 ⇒ 1
wild notice: 1d6 ⇒ 6
wild notice ace!: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Aleksei Yarovich |

Aleksei nods to the LT as he shoulders his weapon and makes for the same building Morgan went to. He stifles a grunt as a short stumble into the wall pains his shoulder.
Stealth, Wild: 1d4 ⇒ 21d6 ⇒ 4

Jacques Corbett |

Jacques nods, adjusting his glasses again and wincing slightly as Aleksei knocks his shoulder hard on the wall. He makes a mental note to check that once they're done here before starting off after the others, his rifle at low ready.
Stealth: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Gonna spend a quick benny on that.
Stealth: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Stealth ace: 1d4 ⇒ 3= 7
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 5
He brings up the rear, scanning around and making sure they're not missing anyone at any inconvenient angles along the way.
General notice: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 3

![]() |

Daniel manages to spot the sniper (indicated by the red arrow) on the roof of a nearby building. Unfortunately, the sniper spots you first. A shot rings out, the bullet ricocheting off the ground nearby.
Shooting: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Robert "Bobby" Northbrook |

Bobby curses quietly under his breath. Whispering, he says "Well, that buggers it. What do we do, mates, keep on going and 'ope he loses sight of us, or shoot back?"
BTW all, we all forgot the +2 for darkness (or maybe +1 for moonlight now?).
WhtKnt - I'm just curious, who did the sniper spot? The lowest rolls I see are 4, which are a Success, even ignoring the +1 for moonlight...

![]() |

Daniel immediately drops prone as soon as the shot rings out. "I'll hold him here. You guys can advance if you want."
He lines up his iron sights with the roof top and spends a moment homing his sights in on the target.
prone, Dug In, Aiming.

Aleksei Yarovich |

"He shot twice. Knows we are here. Good chance rest of enemy already knows too. We shoot back." With that, Aleksei runs for the next cover and as he slides into it, he takes a pot shot at the sniper to keep his head down.
Move to cover, Shoot along the way.
Shooting, Wild (Penalties?): 1d6 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 1

![]() |

He was actually shooting blind, firing at shadows. He's very nervous and jumpy. And it is +1 for moonlight.
Daniel draws a bead, spotting the slightest shadow of the sniper against the starlit sky.

Jacques Corbett |

Jacques continues to scan the area, his rifle at the ready, waiting until someone fires again to act.
Going on hold in other words.

Robert "Bobby" Northbrook |

Bobby opts to stay with the majority of the group rather than move forward to Alekski's position.

![]() |

Whoops! Completely forgot initiative. Stand by.
Initiative
Daniel - Ace of Hearts
Sniper - Five of Hearts
Bobby - Four of Clubs
Jacques - Three of Clubs
Aleksei - Two of Hearts

![]() |

Nice! =)
Daniel aims down his barrel and slows his breathing. After three breaths he exhales and squeezes the trigger in the slow, controlled manner that he'd done countless times before.
Shoot, w/ Aim w/ moonlight: 1d10 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 1 = 3
WILD Shoot w/ Aim w/ moonlight: 1d6 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 1 = 6
Shoot DAMage: 2d8 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10

![]() |

There is a thud as the sniper plummets from the rooftop to land at the corner of the building.

Robert "Bobby" Northbrook |

"Good job, mate! Now let's get on with the mission..."
Stealth & Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 21d6 ⇒ 2 +1 = 3
Bobby slips in the mud on his way over to Alekski's spot.

![]() |

Daniel silently pumps his fist in the air. He looks back at Jacques and whispers "Did ya see that?"
Then he stands back up, and gets ready to sprint across the street to the building where the body now lay.

Aleksei Yarovich |

Are we still in combat? If not...
Aleksei looks at Morgan and gives an approving nod. "Good shot. I'll cover you while you confirm your kill." He then takes aim and watches the area near the body for any signs of movement.
Notice, Wild: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d6 ⇒ 3

![]() |

The sniper was the only enemy in the init. order, so I'm guessing not. WhtKnt, when you comment on combat, could you please end it with either saying Out of Combat or saying who goes next? Thank you.
Daniel gives the thumbs-up to Aleksei and sprints across the ground.
He stumbles on the uneven ground, but drops prone close to his kill, and starts to search the body.
Run. Dropping prone. Searching.

Jacques Corbett |

Jacques continues to bring up the rear, scanning to the left and right, giving Morgan a small nod and smirk at his excellent shot. Assuming everything is clear, he'll move up near Aleksei and whisper after a moment. "Zat was all? Somezing seems... Off," he holds his rifle up in port arms, pushing his glasses up against the barrel. "C'est calme...Trop calme?" He mutters in French.

Aleksei Yarovich |

Aleksei nods to Jacques. ""Da, seems too quiet. Sniper would have notified others by now. Mnye ne nravitsya." He goes back to watching Morgan search the body.
