Swarms (of diminutive or fine creatures) take NO damage from weapons. Thus, the torch only does 1 point of damage. Similarly, swarms are immune to any spell or effect that targets a limited number of creatures (such as Lilika's acid dart). I'm stretching the facts by allowing the torch to do anything at all. Basically, only area of effect spells have any effect on swarms.
You know you can move out of the swarm, right?
Swarm Damage:1d6 ⇒ 4
The team blasts and batters the swarm of tiny biting spiders with little effect. Only
With no way to harm the swarm, Lilika backs up deeper into the room filled with spider webs.
I wish I had my gear. She thinks for the tenth time since regaining consciousness. Looking at her companions swinging torches she wonders Do they have no better suited equipment? ...Are insect swarms not common around here...?
She reaches for a vial of alchemist's fire only to remember--for the eleventh time--it's not there.
Mentally scolding herself for foolishness, she looks around the room she's in, curious if there's another way out, or any gear she could make use of...
With a woosh! Perfire's alchemist's fire bursts open, splashing the dangerous liquid over a swath of the swarming arachnids and burning their tiny bodies to a crisp! The remaining swarm simply marches mindlessly on, heedless of the deaths of their fellows.
It crawls over Perfire, biting and skittering.

What did Lilika notice about the room she's in? She spent last turn looking around with her 20 perception check to see if there were other exits, hazards, or useful objects laying around. I don't suppose there's a nice shiny vial of alchemist's fire stuck to a nearby spider web, is there? Haha.
'Does anyone remember Grulk saying anything about this level being infested with spiders? Or do you suppose this is new?' Perfire wonders, swatting the last of the spiders from his person.
Grulk didn't mention spiders. He mentioned the Numerian wizard Klarkosh and his metal men. But also clearly didn't understand exactly where Klarkosh was, so the wizard could be down on the twentieth level of the Spire for all you know. Sounds like maybe Grulk had no clear idea of what was down here.
For that matter, neither do you. There's a lot more to this level. :-)

As the swarm disperses, Yirrik lets out a big long breath, flicking off the last few little spiders crawling on his arm, "They're very cute little critters one on one, but so many...."
He looks over at Perfire, "Likely, our good friend Grulk has never been down here in person..."
He then joins Lilika in examining the room with all of the webs...
'No problem. That WAS the last of those I have. I can make more, given time, supplies, and equipment, but none of those are in high supply right now.' Perfire gives a strained smile to his friends and follows into the web room. He waits anxiously as the pair search.
There is the locked gate. There is also a door beyond the northernmost pit. Finally, there is retrying if you feel certain you know where something should be.

"Yirrik, ye've a very weird definition of cute. Triath is cute," Wymond says as the pig gives an appreciative grunt. "Yeh're welcome. A cat is cute, a fawn is cute, but a spider? Really?"
He looks around at the others.
"Anyone else need healin'? That damn venom sapped my strength, so any more fights down 'ere'll be rougher goin'."
'I'm fine. You took care of most of my wounds already. Thank you.' Perfire smiles up at Wymond. 'We haven't been across the pit near the big green wall. Should we rest Wy?'

Wymond smiles back and nods.
"We got enough food? If so, I'd say yes. I'll use whatever healin' I got on the others but Triath an' me can only do so much today. Erastil helps those wot help themselves after all, an' I think after the scare we've had from them spiders, we could all do with a little shut-eye."

Yirrik rolls his shoulder , then flexes his hands, still feeling the effects of the little spider's venom, "I'll gladly take whatever you've got, Wy." he says wearily, "Best to find another room, perhaps to rest in. Perhaps the room with the spire within..."

Yirrik sighs as some of the little bites close up, but he still looks a little worn around the edges, "As always, my friend, thank you." he says with a smile.
Picking up his pack, he leads the others back to the room with the spire...
Perfire does his best to help make the room a little more liveable. He carries what bits of decaying matter he can outside of the room and throws them into the pit trap outside of the door.
The injured party members settle in for the evening in the unnerving room where they previously trapped a skeleton. It rattles and bangs endlessly against the cage, providing little opportunity for rest. Moreover, the noxious smell of blood and old offal is only somewhat reduced by Perfire's cleaning.
It's not impossible to sleep here. It might be easier out in the entry hall, but that is less defensible.
