With a few decisive blows, the crab falls to the deck, twitching with electricity. The smell of its sweet meat starts to fill the deck.
With a quick healing spell, Zolarus is brought back to consciousness, though just barely.
Out of combat!
The rest of the day is yours to do with as you wish.
I'll post the next bit when I get home tonight.

Mikail sets his bow aside and rushes to Zolarus. "Areyou ok?!ThatwassuchamightyblowIcan'tbelieveyousurvivedithereletmehelpyou!!" his words rush out in one long polysyllabic explosion as he helps the Nagaji back to his feet. In his excitement, a yip or two might have escaped the young kitsune.

Soren lowers his bow and starts for the bodies of the crabs.
I know a way to cook these. Tonight's meal should be exquisite.
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
The youth then gathers what he needs and cooks the giant crabs. When Ferabras comes by, the young hunter elbow nudges him.
Better than frogs by far. Though, done right, frogs can be good too.
After the meal is done, he gathers everyone and haves them dig in.
Because why not. Haha. Soren can be a chef too I guess.

Soran makes some lovely crab fritters for lunch with plenty to last the remainder of the day. It is just what is needed to boost the morale of the crew.
"We're used to the odd pirate attack, sure," admits the captain, "but nothing like those things. These almost make me wish for those pirate. Though I am sure they do not taste as good as these."
Zolarus has a chance to be healed by your choice of means.

"Good fight Master Dwarf, Soren, Mikail and the others. I am sure everyone appreciates the healing. I believe there will be other events that will allows us to refine our movements as a team."

So then, how many of us rely on using ranged fire? My volcanic cloud can weaken the enemy, but conceals it from those not next to it.

Ferabras happily cracks open a massive crab leg, using his long, clawed fingers to extract every sweet morsel within. "This stuff is great, Soran," he says between mouthfuls, his scarred cheeks glistening with lemon butter, "I didn't know you could cook!" So intent is he on enjoying the impromptu feast, he relaxes almost completely, forgetting all about making a good impression - which actually makes a better impression on those around him.
"That's quite a fighting style you've got there, Hoshiko," he comments, "I've never seen anyone use magic through a blade like that." And in reply to Grahnd's question, he says, "I prefer to get up close and personal in the fight against evil, though I didn't contribute much in the fight against the crabs. Everything happened so fast, I barely got my feet under me. But I'm glad the rest of you did so well. I was worried Zolarus was going to be crab food for a moment there - I'm glad it ended up the other way around."

Wanted to give you a moment to enjoy your crab bites.
The rest of the second day on the lake goes by without incident. Indeed, so do the third, fourth, and fifth.
At least until the evening.
As the sun sets and the lanterns aboard the ship are lit, you are met with an uneasy rocking of the boat. The waters around the ship froth with something moving beneath. Suddenly, two large shapes shoot out of the water and plop onto the deck.
Crocodiles!

With a cackle of electricity, the croc falls dead to the deck! It would make a lovely handbag... or dinner.
If I'm not mistaken, the spell damage is doubled as well on a crit. It's not extra dice to the weapon but the spell itself being delivered. Which is why maguses typically use a scimitar or rapier to have the expanded crit range for just that very kind of attack.
One croc left!

Mikail suddenly appears on deck "What happened? I thought I heard something, and the boat was rocking something awful!" he chatters, moving astern to meet up with the party. "WOW!!! By the gods!" the kitsune yelps "What happened here?!?!"

And thus ends your fifth day on the lake.
On the sixth day Captain Walren announces they are nearing Tamran, and if they push on after dark, they’ll be able to reach the city that night. He seems a bit edgy, as he always is when he draws near the city.

![]() |

With a shake of the head, Walren dismisses it. "These waters are not safe — which is why I should like to reach the city tonight. Much safer in port."
As the day progresses, the clouds come over the lake and start a dismal rain. Captain Walren suggests you stay dry below deck, though a keen eye would not be refused.

![]() |

Grahnd grew up in a mountain village. He is used to unpleasant weather. Since the Society has taught him the importance of vigilance above all else, he will stay up top and help keep watch.

![]() |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
The distractible little anthropomorphic fox just barely catches on to the captains distress, and his ears swivel in and his nose starts to twitch. "Well, if the waters are not safe, we should press on with all hands on deck!" he says with unusual levity. "I will stand watch as well. Lets see what there is to see!"
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Most remarkably, Mikail is able to keep most of his attention on his duties!

![]() |

Ferabras knows his eye may not be the keenest, but he makes up for it in keenness of spirit. "Then we shall travel to the city tonight, Captain Walren," he says confidently, "and my friends and I will stand by your side as we do so."
After standing quietly for a few moments and scanning the horizon, he turns back to the dwarf and asks, "Captain, is there anything in particular about these waters that concerns you? Anything we should keep an eye out for? I should like to know if I should be scanning the skies for dragons or watching the surface of the lake for kraken."
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

![]() |

Hoshiko wills stay out of sight and out of the rain... too many people on deck during a bad night is suspicious in itself...

![]() |

The captain looks to Soran and Zolarus for their input.
To Ferabras, the captain lets slip a smile. "We're heading into a port town in a city whose own guards stay out of it. It's a ramshackle place, especially for a capital city. Pirates aren't an uncommon thing. That's why I don't want to stay out on the water any longer than we have to. Push on through the dark."

![]() |

Soren grunts.
I'd take the open air over those cramped quarters even if it was hailing tornadoes out. Besides, if any pirates show up they'll have to answer to my bow before they even get close to us.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

![]() |

As you continue towards the city, night falls and with it come low clouds over the water. The sliver of a moon makes seeing anything difficult, but you can still make out the lights of the city coming up on the shore.

![]() |

Soran quietly points out the ship to the rest of the crew, and casually pulls a tinder twig from his bandolier. He then lays four arrows out on the wall of the ship, and chuckles.
If they are pirates, they won't be expecting these...
Right before combat starts, if it is about to be one, Soran will light four incendiary arrows with his tinder twig. Should be fun.

![]() |

As Soran points out the ship, Mikail quietly takes a look to confirm the danger. Certain now of the danger, he moves aft to the wheelhouse, and positions himself at the top of the stairs with his bow in hand.

![]() |

Mikail looks but cannot see anything through the clouds and rain on or in the dark water.

Zolarus straps his longspear on his back and equips a heavy shield and javelin. He also moves to the center of the ship and casts Bless.
