"I concur." Aegis-9 responds. "A promise is a promise."
Although, deep down in his diodes, the android would like to see Laboni cross the finish line first, he keeps the energy weapon pointed at Nyizin.

"Yeah, feck that. I don't care about what the rest of 'em did--it was a fair race. But I choked at the end, and got my faction leader hacked off at me." He grimaces. "Anyway, what's next?"

"I believe we have two more missions to complete. One on the station and one among the Armada." Aegis-9 notes. "As a member of the Exo-Guardians and a stalwart defender of the Pact Worlds, I am looking forward to meeting with the leader of that noble organization."

Garbage litters the ground around the district’s largest art park—a cement lot filled with undulating metal sculptures and covered in graffiti of grotesquely adorable creatures. The sounds of music and chatter drift over from the nearby clubs, chronically interrupted by the roar of the local gangsters’ engines. A heavily augmented host shirren is sitting on one of the park benches, eating a simple meal of cold grub-noodles and rice candy. Their antennae perk up at the tremor of approaching footsteps. “Welcome, new Starfinders! And congratulations!” the shirren’s voice telepathically projects. “My speech-name is Zigvigix, but feel free to call me Ziggy, if that would be easier for you. Have some rice candy to celebrate your graduation! Today is your big day!
“When you are ready, I have two assignments I could use assistance with. The first is to help me secure a new headquarters on Absalom Station. I’ve been in talks with our station’s protectors, the Stewards, and they were kind enough to give us ownership of a warehouse here in Downlow for that purpose! The current owners no longer want it because a vicious alien took it over and kills anyone who goes inside. Once the alien is gone and the warehouse cargo has been returned to its owners, we can start installing desks and computers, so please go in and incinerate the creature!
“My second assignment...” Zigvigix twitches their tooth barbs for a moment and then holds out a credstick. “Please buy the brand-new Strawberry Machine Cake album, Star Sugar Heartlove!!!, which is out today, and give it to Historia-7 when you see her. She is the head of the Dataphiles, so you should meet her today! I wish to do it myself, but I... I have trouble standing for long periods of time. Thank you very much!”

![]() |

Steev' smiles happily at the exuberant Ziggy and takes a handful of rice candy. "Yum! Strawberry Machine Cake has a new album?!? HOW did I miss it?!"

Raia - Technomancer Iconic |

"Oh I want an album, too!! Let us get the album after we have dealt with the creature. This looks very frightening and I do not want that anybody else get hurt! So what else can you tell us about this deadly being?" Raia asks.

![]() |

"Thank you, Zigvigix." intones Aegis-9, taking a piece of rice candy. "It is an honor to be of service to you and your stalwart organization, the Exo-Guardians."
"I, for one, would be more than happy to aid you in securing a permanent headquarters here aboard Absalom Station." The android affirms. "But before we do, please, tell us what is already known about this vicious creature."
"As for your gift, we have already seen Historia-7 earlier. Nevertheless, it should not be difficult to obtain a copy of this apparently fruit-and-desert-themed audio compilation. When we do, we shall deliver one to Historia-7 posthaste." Aegis-9 continues, "Tell me, why do you think this particular album will be of interest to her? Is it part of some secretive Starfinder mission?"

![]() |

Zigvigix's feelers twitch in excitement. "I believe the the creature is a feather stalker, a predator far more unpleasant than its name
implies. As far as the Stewards have been able to piece together, a two-bit crime lord illegally imported the creature, and the beast promptly ate him. I have a holorecording you can watch if you'd like!"

Raia - Technomancer Iconic |

”That is really horrible and I sincerely hope that no one else is going to get hurt! But I would very much like to understand more about this creature and therefore would like to see the video please!“

![]() |

"Can we capture it and release it back wherever it came from? Seems cruel to punish a creature just because it did what it does." Steev looks concerned for the feather stalker.

"Can we capture it and release it back wherever it came from? Seems cruel to punish a creature just because it did what it does." Steev looks concerned for the feather stalker.
"Indeed." chimes in Aegis-9. "What made you conclude that 'incineration' is necessary?"

You think that this large aberration resembles a crinoid, which are typically water-living creatures. From what you can see, it will have the ability to strike with its feathery appendages, and might be able to throw spiked quills at targets.
Additionally, you are pretty sure that the thing has a 10' reach, based on its size, and the size of the appendages. Based on the nature of its body, you would guess that it is at least slightly resistant to sonic damage.
"If you can safely subdue it, that would be fantastic! It would give us an opportunity to study it more." says Ziggy. "However, I would be remiss if I would value this change more than the lives of my agents, so please be careful! I'd rather a dead specimen which we can dissect than a live one that we need to extract an agent's body from!"
To Aegis-9
"Historia-7 has seemed down after losing her mentor in the Scoured Stars." he replies. "I hope the sugar-pop music can cheer her up! It always makes me feel better.
"Why, just the other day, when my injury was giving me trouble, I put on Sweet Cake Song, and it made me feel better. I just wish I could get the chance to get the album, but I just cannot stand in line that long."

Raia - Technomancer Iconic |

Raia sees the creature and clearly recognizes it.
"Look guys, this large aberration resembles a crinoid, which are typically water-living creatures. From what I can see, it will have the ability to strike with its feathery appendages, and might be able to throw spiked quills at targets. Additionally, I know that the creature has 10' reach, based on its size, and the size of the appendages. Based on the nature of its body, it is at least slightly resistant to sonic damage."
She thinks for a moment.
"I am a xenoseeker but this creature can be very dangerous. After we disabled it we can try to stabilize it and bring it back here for research. What do you think?"

![]() |

"I'd rather we let it go free on its natural habitat, but if that's the best we can do, crikey it's better than killin' the poor Sheila!" Steev' announces.

![]() |

"Agreed." Aegis-9 says in response to Steev's announcement. "And with lives in jeopardy, we should deal with this featherstalker prior to our second assignment."
"As for the album," the android says to the shirren, "you can consider your gift to Historia-7 as good as delivered."
And I shall endeavor to obtain a copy of the album for you, Zigvigix, as well, the android silently ponders.

You make your way down to the Downlow warehouse, meeting the station security there. Arrange yourselves in the entry way, and let me know when ready.

Steev steps in, unslinging his doshko with its merciful magic. He hums, looking around intently. "Let's try to remember this beastie is cornered, it's scared and it's not its fault it craves meat. We just happen to be made of meat."

Did we receive any credits from faction leaders? Aegis-9 is 50 credits short of a small arm capable of inflicting lethal damage. If we have the credits, he will purchase a semi-auto pistol with 50 credits, plus 210 of his own. Otherwise, he will go without.
Upon reaching the warehouse, Aegis-9 moves ahead of the group to lead from the front and offer protection to his fellow Starfinders. "Becareful, team. This could get dangerous."
