Merry Christmas everyone =^^= I've been so busy that I haven't been able to work on my goblin reaper yet :s
Next few days I should be good :)

3 Questions:

1. I want my Tetori Monk/Blight Druid to have a constrictor snake theme. Unfortunately there are no constrictor snake Familiars. So To home brew one I would take the crab familiar ability "Master gains a +2 bonus on CMB checks to start and maintain a grapple" and combine it with a viper's stats, replacing the poison ability with the grab attack and the constrict ability. Seeing as how the snake is tiny size, he will probably never actually use these abilities, but just in case he needs to kill a bird in-game or something. I am aware that we don't get to start with any animal companions or anything, but eventually i would like to get another one. I hope this is an acceptable brew.

2. As I reread the druid and monk I realized that the 2 alignment restrictions will pidgin hole me into being LN. I would like to be NE. I believe that my back story will Give sufficient reason.

(I will assume we are somehow within the paizo setting Golorian, however it would be easy for me to weave his story into anyplace with a swamp.)

Kord the Bastard oread was born in a small township in the Sodden lands, living with his single mother. While he was a child Boggards raided this township killing and eating everyone accept him, in there words "rock person not going to taste good". After 2 days and 3 nights the following morning a Huge anaconda slithered into town bearing the gift of a dead hog. The snake spoke to him, whispering ideas of revenge and domination. After a month of gifts, the snake revealed itself as Nagaji Druid, the "Protector" of the swamp; Offering to raise Kord. Without anywhere else to go Kord gleefully accepted.

Years went by and the Druid taught Kord many things. Most notably How to constrict like the mighty anaconda and how death and un-death are not necessarily opposites but merely Reflections of one another. Eventually when kord reached manhood the druid gave him the title Kord, The Iron Serpant.

Unfortunately during Kords druidic Christening ceremony The boggards staged an ambush, killing His druidic mentor and capturing Kord, branding him as a slave and selling him off. While being shipped to his Owners, the Talinguarde navy Seized the Slaving vessel. However as the Clerics sifted through the slaves, Kord stuck out like a sore thumb. He reeked of necromantic magics and was immediately sent to Brandscar. Talinguarde would not risk such evils the chance to taint there fair Kingdom. And so Kord now waits for the end to his miscible life, hungering for the revenge he will probably never get to taste.

3. I would like to take the shade of the Uskwood Feat reflavored so that a I have an aversion to something other than fire. idk asmodius = fire in my mind.

Also I have the Inner Sea Gods book. I would like to use some material from that eventually. I think it would be cool.

Anyway once We figure all this out ill post a stat block. I might switch the blight druid archtype with reincarnated, I'm still trying to decide what fits more thematically. If you are very RAW on the class alignments I will probably end up switching druid out for something else. I have been looking for a gestalt game for a long time to play this character.

Happy Holidays!

Loving the Druid/Monk :) big fan of Blight Druid,
Maybe an aversion to lightnig? Or maybe cold? Blight Druid=acid in my mind,

@meeko. I will allow your combination. A more druidic form of monk teachings is easy there. A viper familiar can be refluffed to another type of snake, that is fine but not changing stats or bonuses.

Also if anyone has any experience with maptools or other free mapmaking programs let me know. I'm wondering which is the easiest to be able to link the maps to this campaign.

Shadow Lodge

I find maptools to be pretty easy. You can drop pdfs of maps into the program, then just cover everything with the fog of war, and only reveal what you want people to see.

Maptools does a lot more, but it was pretty easy for me. I have not used it in a while, but a year ago when I was DMing a campaign, it is what I used.

I would export the maps, and then post them to my Google drive, which I then posted the link to on my posts.

Still a work in progress but here's a question: Must I take fiendish heritage to select the alternate Tiefling Oni-Spawn heritage? I know some GMs prefer the feat tax and others don't so I thought I'd ask.

@Kaath. No. None of those heritage feats are necessary for tiefling/assimar/dhampir/what have you. All their optional race options are open.

Kaath the Wicked wrote:
fiendish heritage

It didn't make it into Blood of Fiends book, just like there's nothing like it in Blood of Angels, you might want to point that out to these DMs.

Ok, full backstory is up on the profile for Father Iscar. Now the wait to see if I've passed muster beings :)

Both crunch and backstory should be done. Looking at some of the others, I am getting pretty excited thinking about the possibilities. I would've loved to figure out some kind of connection to Father Iscar, even if it was insignificant. He seems like such a fun person to befriend.

Ok excellent stuff. I've started rereading everyone's back stories and beginning to decide who I might choose. In 24-48 hours I should hopefully be able to narrow it down to the 8.

Fair enough, I will begin character generation!

To recap:
1. Refluffed snake familiar, Same stats as usual.

2. NE alignment is alright

3. Shade of the uskwood can be refluffed and changed from fire aversion to something different, taking wade's suggestion: electricity.

Well who knows: we may be cell mates? Although, I have a slight inkling that some of the other PCs might not like him given he is bluff: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28 "certainly innocent, and there must simply be some mistake, because how could a faithful of Mitra such as I be a Blasphemer?" ;)

of course this is entirely optional but I'd suggest taking a domain instead of the familiar

For a variety of reasons, most/all boiling down to a domain simply being stronger

For one
An ainamal companion is considered to be better than a familiar, (for example if you want to spend feats to get them an animal companion costs two whereas a familiar only costs one)but the game considers them equal to a domain.
Two: you'd start without the familiar anyway
There is more but it's none of my consern and I should probably try to get back to sleep

@Wade Willhelm

Yes after Comparing the Shade of the Uskwood vs the death domain, I feel i will get more necromantic Flavor and use out of the domain. witch allows me to take Toughness at first level, a boost I sorely needed.

Shadow Lodge

Cool :)
Just as a heads up, the second vampire feat grants toughness, so by taking it now you'd be missing out on it then, you could get a better defence by taking dodge or minor damage reduction or improved natural armor, (note the second is third party and I think the third requires you to start off with some)
That said the vampire feats are far from required,

Please tell me if my advice giving is unwanted, I have Aspergers and sometimes have trouble knowing where the line is (I once got kicked out of a game for it but in other times people ask and/or thank me for for giving it, so I still give it but I tell people to tell me when I go too far)
My advice giving is mostly me passing the time till we find out who gets in :)

No, Please by all means let me know what you think. I am fan of optimization myself.

My younger nephew has Aspergers, and I am the only one in my family that can begin to relate. He likes things like minceraft and such. I play WoW with my GF and im trying to get him to game with me now. His father is just a little apprehensive About the idea. I love him to death thoe, he always tells me exactly whats on his mind, Thats hard to find these days.

My character is oread, with a ds6 cha, so any undead would be a bad idea.

I'm on vacation right now in DC, im going to try and have my character up by tomorrow night.

Ah, the 3 day wait until execution (a.k.a player announcement) is excruciating!

I agree with meeko, sharing ideas on the boards is part of what lets us make such cool/optimized/fun characters.

Shadow Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hey, look at the positive side. Those not selected get to enjoy a public execution for the entertainment of the Talingarde nobles.

Shadow Lodge

Thanks, your opinion on such is a common one, but like I said I was kicked from an RL game for my advice giving so... Yeah...
Aah, you've got that whole "most common dump stat" thing
I've never intentionally dumped charisma, but then that's a me thing

As far as i know Meeko and Cam are the only ones not submitted back stories. So as soon as they do i will get down to it and make and post selections within 24 hours. Then or the 31st. Whichever comes first

Sounds good. I'm excited; I've been hoping to get into a Way of the Wicked game. Good luck to all!

Well.@wade If you can maybe look at Miko. :P Bard/Rogue. Fun times

@Wade please, by all means, if you could, take a look over my character. I would love it.

Kaath the Wicked wrote:

Heck yeah, community!

Shadow Lodge

To be clear are you looking for error checking or suggestions?

Both

Shadow Lodge

Heh give me a few miniutes
I just recently found out that my own profile hadn't properly been edited from when it used to be a kitsune bard/warlock master of disguise as opposed to aasimar oracle/worlock necromancer.

Kaath the Wicked wrote:

I've counted 12pb, but I might be wrong.

With 10 Con you are going to die much more often than you'd like. It also powers rage rounds on lower levels.
Can't see the last point of AC... oh, here it is, Dex bonus isn't mentioned along with Sacred Fist and Scaled Skin one.
Warpriest have good Will save, so it should be +5.

Shadow Lodge

I'm not seeing anything wrong with Kaath that Nyaa hasn't already pointed out, though unfortunately I'm not going to be much use in advice as I've not played those classes before
Seth could you please repost as miko, I'm having some trouble finding her.

Shadow Lodge

Ok, so a master (mistress?) of disguise and enchantress, classic, very classic the second of those is pretty must have, the first is very useful
Not how I would do it but still very much viable (how I would do it different would be to go either fey bloodline tattooed sorcerer or ninja, but kitsune trickster is nice)
I do however suggest asking the GM if the "glory rouge" archetype would be allowed (it's 3rd party) and if so take it.
I would also suggest taking cure light wounds as a spell known at your earliest opportunity,
What are you intending to use as your primary weapon?
I am curious why you chose the alternate racial languages.

Seth86 wrote:

Where is second feat coming from? Maybe Spell Focus (enchantment) is in fact Kitsune Magic racial trait?

The spell focus replaces the bardic knowledge. Lotus geisha archetype :)

Its more with idea and her name. She came to a new land with her family, and due to fact they dont know the new laws they were ridiculed and lost a lot of money, hence the reason she became a fraudster.

Rapier. Better crit since she lacks str. I will be aiming for the Master Spy PrC =^^=

Okay. Depending on what GM says, i will add GR to the mix. Much appreciated =^^=

Shadow Lodge

The bard archetype gives it to her. Not worth it unless you specialize like she does in my opinion.
Edit: also ask about the feat "deadly agility" it provides dex to damage, though it requires weapon finess as a prerequisite
It's dreamscard press which a lot of DMs consider "honarrary paizo" (one of my DMs used that actual phrase after their psionics)

Yup. Its not usually worth it. But in her case, the bard class is to support her role as trickster and socialite. =^^=
My level 2 rogue trick will grant me weapon finesse. But i need iron will and Deceitful to be able to take Master Spy. Luckely i can only start taking levels in that after level 7. So have enough time

Shadow Lodge

Ah so bard is a secondary class to rouge, in that case nicely done, I like it.
So level 2: weapon finess, level 3 deadly agility or iron will or deceitful.
As a side note, my character's weapon (as in other than magical bolts of eldritch power) is a mace because there's a specific magic item for warlocks that's a mace and I plan on eventually getting one.

Well. In any order from level 3. =^^= she is not a real ccombatant.a few nice tricks and hopefully help with a bit of Crowd Control but her real knack will be social and infiltration

Shadow Lodge

Well first ask yourself would you take those feats if they weren't prerequisites?
If yes, take them first
If not take deadly agility (assuming the dm allows it)

deceitful i would take, iron will ill take at lvl7, so deadly agility if allowed, then deceitful, then iron will.

Seth86 wrote:

If you take Weapon Focus (Rapier) with Weapon Finesse, you can also take Fencer's Grace, which is Dex to damage with rapiers. It's in the ACG.

Its an option. But an extra feat. Will have to use a combat trick to get it. But it is an option

Shadow Lodge

Cool, though weapon focus is not very good outside of qualifying for prerequisites, it's nice to know we have a backup option thanks :)
yes I know that's what it's possibly doing here, it'd still be nice to have that before level nine.

So level 2 finess
Level 3 either deadly agility or deceitful
Level 5 the other
Level 7 iron will.

Yup yup :)

Shadow Lodge

Costs a few gp, but you can always just add the Agile ability to your weapon, thereby allowing it to use your dex for damage.

Another option, a 1 level dip into Swashbuckler(Inspired Blade) gives you Weapon Finesse and Weapon Focus(rapier) for free. Also, with Bard and Rogue for your principal classes, a level in Swashbuckler at level 1 gives you +1 BAB and all the fun swashbuckler abilities. It also seems to fit with the character from the little that I have read of your character.

If you want to take 5 or 7 levels of swashbuckler, you get other fun skills like Nimble for +1 AC, Improved Crit, +1 attack/damage with the rapier, and other interesting deeds/panache abilities (kip up, etc).

Shadow Lodge

Ooh that's a good suggestion.

Shadow Lodge

I added another comment to the end of the previous post if you are willing to split the rogue/swashbuckler levels and take more swashbuckler.
