Vladek is a tad buffaloed after Marta's abrupt charge.
"I suppose it is true what they say: Nobody expects the Inquisition!"
Now that their host has vanished, Vladek takes his inspection of the manor's layout to a deeper level...I cast detect secret doors.

Round #1: AC 26, DR 5/bludg, RE 30 (cold), blessing of fervor (1/12), copycat (3/12), prot from evil Fendahl (5/10) Myrdon (4/10)
“What do you want to bet they’re buffing? We need into the cooler ASAP, my friends.”
Luisila ✨casts blessing of fervor and moves towards the doorway of what she thinks is the cold room.
blessing of fervor affects every Pathfinder and animal companion EXCEPT Myrdon.
Luisila chooses to gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves this round
• Increase its speed by 30 feet.
• Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
• Take one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
• Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
• Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.

Marta takes the (Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves bonus from Blessing of Fervor
Following Luisilla, Marta hurries over to the door to the frosty room, passes Luisilla, and (tries to) throw it open.
Qadathra
|
I'll wait to see what comes of Marta's action.
| GM Rinaldo |
Throwing the door open, Marta reveals a strange sight. A sheet of ice covers the floor of this opulent bedchamber, various chunks of frozen debris litter the area, and the walls drip with layers of glittering rime. Soft, faint light through the frost-covered windows accentuates icicles dripping from a canopy bed. Your breath condenses before your eyes and hangs in the air momentarily before dissipating.
An ornate fireplace occupies the east wall, and burns with cold, blue fire. On the opposite wall, you can barely discern the shape of floor–to-ceiling bookshelves under the thick frost that has transformed the room into an ice cave. A desk and several salon couches lay overturned in the middle of the floor.
A giant insect-like creature made of ice reclines on the frozen bed, with a large hound to either side. Keel kneels before the creature, apparently begging.
The creature on the bed looks at you expectantly.

"So, what kind of deal are you two making here?"

With soft commands. Myrdon guides Aegis to fly up the stairs while he flies along. Seeing combat not breaking out yet, he throws a magic spell of shielding on his animal companion then sends Aegis to fly to the opposite side of the corridor.
Myrdon: move, cast shield on Aegis.
Aegis: double move
| GM Rinaldo |
Marta: You said you moved in, but didn't actually move your token. Please do so. ;-)
Also, you only rolled one knowledge check, you were meant to roll one for each.
Vladek: Qadathra doesn't recognize them, but as soon as you bring Vladek up to where he can see in, I'll give you what he knows, and allow Qadathra's check to assist.

I've shrunk the ground floor map and made the upper map bigger for convenience.
As Marta steps carefully into the room, Myrdon rides down the hallway to the far doors and opens them.
I'll give Vladek a little longer to post his action before botting him.
Myrdon Gharthrin
|
It was Fendahl who opened the door. Myrdon is too much of a coward to do that. :)
Vladek Odradek
|
I didn't realize it was my turn again so soon.
Vladek catches up, then...before I take my action, I need to know: What do I see? What do I know? 4th query about ice devils from Qadathra's aid: Behavior/modus operandi (i.e. how do they GO ABOUT being Lawful Evil and serving Hell, and how should we expect it to react to reason/counter-bargaining/threats/etc?)
| GM Rinaldo |
Vladek moves up and peers into the room, immediately recognizing the creatures within.
Going to spoiler this for Vladek, as the only way for him to share information is to say it out loud in front of them.
The Gelugon (Ice Devil) has DR overcome by good; is immune to fire, cold, and poison; resists acid; and has Spell resistance. It has no specific weaknesses. It has regeneration that is stopped by good aligned weapons or spells with the good descriptor. It has a fear aura that causes creatures within 10 feet to become panicked.
Spell like abilities:
fly (constant)
At will— cone of cold, ice storm , greater teleport (self plus 50 lbs. of objects only), persistent image, wall of ice
1/day— Summon (2 bone devils)
It is said that each ice devil bears within its chest a stolen, frozen mortal heart, which allows it to make decisions free of all emotion. Born on the icy layer of Cocytus, Hell’s seventh layer, most ice devils migrate to Caina, the eighth layer, where they plot world-damning machinations from courts of freezing steel. Although they are perhaps the most alien and monstrous in appearance of all devils, few breeds are accorded greater respect. You suspect that, while it might be open to negotiation, it would only be interested in arrangements that increase its power and control.
In combat, a gelugon prefers to let its minions engage foes in melee so that it can hang back and appraise the foe’s tactics, strengths, and weaknesses. The ice devil supports its minions with its spell-like abilities, always taking care to avoid impacting its minions in the area of effect of its spells—this not from any sense of camaraderie, only a cold and logical truth that its allies can survive longer in a fight if they are not exposed to friendly fire.
-----
Cocytan Warhounds are a form of hellhound. They are fast (40' move) but do not fly. They are immune to cold but vulnerable to fire. They have a breath weapon that is a 30' cone of cold. They have strong fortitude and reflex, but weak will saves; they are very hearty and string, but are not sentient - they are highly intelligent animals.
After he reads that, Vladek can take a standard action, then it's my turn. If he wants to share what he knows, there is enough there that I will require doing so to take his action, and would be heard by the devil.
Vladek Odradek
|
Not that I'm going to, but part of me is tempted to remark about how cyooot it sort of looks..."I Can Haz Cozmik Dominayshun?"
Would you allow Qadathra to telepathically relay that information (on his next action) without the devil being alerted?
Vladek catches up, then...works the delicate loom of reality to guide Marta's next few moments against this most perilous adversary.
Marta, I'm giving you today's 2 rounds of Fortune. Use them wisely.
Oh, yes: Qadathra and I will both be taking the '+2 bonuses' Fervor this round.
| GM Rinaldo |
Would you allow Qadathra to telepathically relay that information (on his next action) without the devil being alerted?[/ooc]
To a single person per round, since it is a lot of information, and as far as I know Telepathy is creature-to-creature, not a broadcast.
Vladek prepares Marta for alternate realities as he studies the creatures in the room.

"Pathetic worm, isn't he? Do you enjoy watching him grovel?"
Her halo blazing in the dim light with an ioun stone orbiting in the halos track and her Aazimar eyes boring into 'Keel', she turns her attention to the fool, "It won't do any good Keel, or whoever you are. You will find more mercy coming from us that that thing. Now tell me what is going on, or face the very unpleasant consequences. I am far more scary that it is. Far more."

Round #2: AC 26, DR 5/bludg, RE 30 (cold), blessing of fervor (2/12), copycat (4/12), prot from evil Fendahl (6/10) Myrdon (5/10)
“Does someone want to tell us what in Cheliax is going on?”
Luisila holds up her oil of bless weapon.
“Marta, do you want me to anoint your hands or other weapon to make them blessed? Otherwise, I’ll align Aegis’ beak and talons.”
Luisila waits to hear Marta’s reply and acts accordingly, moving if necessary.
| GM Rinaldo |
As Qadathra uses his new wand and Luisila offers more magical assistance, Marta tries to stare down the cowering Keel.
The devil suddenly leans forward; at which Keel darts across the room. A blast of frigid air and snow covers the room!
A series of readied actions trigger. The devil begins use a SLA, which causes Keel to run away. Keel ends up hiding partially behind the sofa.
Thanks to cover from the door, Myrdon, Vladek, and Aegis are protected. Everyone else can roll a DC 20 Reflex Save for half damage, then apply any protection from cold you have active.
Cone of Cold: 13d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 3, 4, 3, 5, 3, 1, 1, 4, 3, 2) = 38
The devil's readied action happened when Qadathra cast an offensive spell. I've moved everyone's initiative position around. Luisila may take her standard action now, then I'll move forward.

DC 22 Reflex or fall into a 60’ deep pit – SR does not apply
She then steps 5’ out of the ice devil's line of sight.

Problem: If that was a reaction to my action...I'm invisible, as per greater invisibility, and I don't see any reason a subtle spell like prayer would do anything to jeopardize that. How did the devil know? The spell-like abilities you mentioned don't include any invisibility-detection.
Reflex save, fervor, Improved Evasion: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 At any rate, a clean getaway!

And it doesn't seem to have done him any good anyway. :-|
-----------------
Hound reflex: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 10 - 1 = 21
Luisila creates a pit under one of the hounds, which nearly gets out of the way, but the magic of Qadathra's wand causes it to slip. Missed it by a prayer.
falling damage: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 3, 3, 6) = 20

Marta casts shield on herself and rushes over near to the devil.
"Great job, Vladek. I think you messed him up good."
I assume there is no difficult terrain in the room. In particular near the Ice Devil. I want to do a 5' step next to the Devil next round. I may need to use the blessing to move faster if it is a raised platform or something. Do I need to make an acrobatics roll or something to avoid falling?
Myrdon Gharthrin

Myrdon calls out to Aegis to go after Keel, who has either either betrayed the Society as well, or is someone else in disguise. Meanwhile, he starts muttering, summoning the power to summon help for their battle.

Marta, yes: now that you are stepping in, you realize that the coating of ice does make it difficult terrain. No Acrobatics check needed just to move, but any Acrobatics checks you do make are at +5 DC. No 5' step unless you fly or have something that lets you step in difficult terrain.
Looking at your route, that is 60' of movement, so it will require the move bonus from BoF.
Marta casts a defensive spell and moves in.
Myrdon sends Aegis after Keel while beginning a spell. The bird avoids the bizarre looking devil in favor of flying over the ice-blue hound.

Marta, I just realized that you are now within 10' of the ice devil. Before I take his action, I need you to roll a Will save (vs fear aura) so I know whether he considers you a threat or not.

Dang! That was one timely Fortune hex. Marta would have been running like a girly girl. I've got to stop rolling those 1s on STs.
