Adaram realizes that the voices seem to be goblins talking from the northwest passage. Right and down on our map
Taladriel can't quite read the runes. You may try again, or you can try again taking 10. Also, anyone else who has knowledge(religion) can aid another.

"Careful dere lads. Dere be more gobbies down an' to de right. Maybe we kin send someone in dere to pull dem out into this room, or even into de hallway through de doors. Dat make any sense?"I wonder if anyone knows what those runes mean

Valeros moves to look at the runes as well, still staying to the back to help conceal the torch light from the goblins.
"What do you want me to do? Wave aroun' my torch a litte to get anyone's attention? With two rogues I'm surprised they haven't been stabbed in the back already!"

"If you keep talking we won't be able to sneak up on them. I'm surprised the whole damn cave doesn't know we're here." Kairo muttered. With that he crept over to the fountain keeping low to the ground silently wishing he knew more about this fountain before approaching. He peered over the rim down towards the northwest passage to try and get a glimpse of the source of the whispered conversation.
I guess I'll try taking 10 on the Knowledge (Religion) check as my rolls haven't been going well.
Taladriel glances in the direction Adaram indicates for more goblins and tightens his grip on his bow, but he can't make anything out. He re-focuses on the runes and tries to remember where he has seen them before.

"Should one of ye tiefy types have a check on dat dere door on de wall nearest whar we came in?" Adaram walked over towards it, but stopped short, fearing a trap.
"If I'm reading this correctly, the runes read 'Anyone who offers gold to Desna, goddess of fortune, will receive a boon'," Taladriel informs the rest of the group.

Adaram steps forward and looks more closely at the fountain. He stares into the water intently.
Redelia:
I am deciding whether it is safe to drink. I don't know what "checks" to make. I will start by choosing "Sense Motive", hoping that I can use that to decide if whatever put the water there had an ulterior motive. I will also do a straight WIS check (in case that doesn't fly with the GM), to see if it would be wise to drink the water. Finally, I will do an INT check, since it might just be a smart, or a dumb thing to do.
Sense Motive:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 WIS Check:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 INT Check:1d20 ⇒ 16
You may, of course, choose whichever roll makes sense. If the one you choose fails, or, none of them are allowable, then Adaram will drink from the fountain. If I pass the allowable check, then Adaram will step back from the fountain and tell everyone why he thinks it is not safe

I'll just take 10 then, Can i see down the corridor from here?
At Taladriels words Kairo took a coin from his belt pouch and slipped it over the rim of the fountain. Even he, a godless rogue, knew it would be unwise to pass up the opportunity for some good fortune.

Valeros moves into the room, attempting to keep the torchlight from filtering into the next corridor.
He watches the others drinking from the fountain out of the corner of his eye Potion or poison? Well, no hands to drink with anyway. I'd look pretty stupid juggling this torch and my sword. I'll save my gold.
He shifts his full attention to the mouth of the corridor. Best to keep my mouth shut and not offend those religious ones. Straining his ears he tries to hear the goblins Adaram mentioned.
Adaram, you need to choose whether you want a +2 bonus on attack rolls, on saving throws, or to Armor Class for the rest of this adventure. Let me know which you choose before we go on.
Kairo, you get a +2 on all saving throws, but only for the next combat.
Taladriel and Valeros, you don't hear or notice anything more.

"I agree, better to take the enemy we know first." Kairo crossed the room to the mouth of the north west passage. He peered cautiously around the corner.

Valeros follows Kairo at a distance of a few feet, keeping the torch in his left hand to try to keep the light from filtering down the passage and alerting the goblins. He waits for the rogue to do what they do best, sneaking in while the target is distracted. But he doesn't wait patiently.
The sword in his right hand seems to twitch, anxious to slaughter another goblin.
I'll wait for up to a day for the other party members to post they're coming along. After that, I'll bot as many as needed to keep your party workable. There are still four of you posting regularly. We'll just keep up, and if the others reappear, we can just pretend they never went missing.

Kairo, preparing himself for a fight, edges slowly and quietly down the corridor towards the sound of the arguing goblins hoping their arguing will cover the sound of the parties approach.
OK, everyone roll 3 stealth checks. If this weren't your first game, I would probably roll them for each of you. However, I'm trying to run this a bit more like an in person game.
The walls of this large cavern are covered with crude
drawings of goblins. In the southwest corner is a throne
made from animal bones, with a goblin wearing a crown
of bones and feathers. Four more goblins are nearby,
arguing violently with each other. The goblin on the
throne appears annoyed, and is covering his ears as the
four other goblins shove and scream at each other.
When you enter the room, the arguing goblins
stop and stare at the intruders. The chief composes himself,
sits up straight, and attempts to impress his goblin minions by
addressing the scary heroes in a loud voice, saying, “Who you?
This throne room of me, King Fatmouth!”
It's clear the goblins are not preparing for combat.
how would I calculate my stealth roll? Do I add my +3 from Dex? Is there an armor check penalty from hide armor? I think I might have finally found a -3 for it so I'll roll normal 1d20, though it looks like we may have been seen already.
Stealth would just come from the stealth line in skills in your character sheet. In the full game there would be an armor check penalty, but the beginner box has no armor check. It's one of the ways they simplified the rules.
