GM RedRobe's Homebrew Savage Tide (Inactive)

Game Master RedRobe

The Savage Tide Adventure Path using Pathfinder rules, set in my homebrew campaign world.

Here is the discussion thread for my new homebrew Pathfinder campaign. This is a private game with no recruitment thread. Those of you who are playing know who you are. Please create a character alias after you have finalized your character and begin posting with that alias. Until then, you may post with your regular message board user name.

Here are some things to keep in mind as you create characters.
1) The setting is a pretty standard fantasy world flavored with Celtic, Norse, and Hellenic (Greek) culture and mythology.
2) Your character traits should influence how you design your background, or vice-versa.
3) I will not be posting much in the way of maps or combat grids. I will do my best to describe combat encounters in such a way that we shouldn't need them. How attacks of opportunity will play out will be at my discretion. Don't choose feats that are based on position on a grid mat.
4) Please review the campaign handout I emailed you all a few weeks ago. If you have questions about particular setting information, please ask.

Please email a copy of your character sheet to me after completion.

Since we'll be playing the Savage Tide AP, I want the feel to be very much in the vein of Pirates if the Caribbean. That being said, firearms are more prevalent than the base assumption of Pathfinder. We'll use the following variation from Ultimate Combat:

Commonplace Guns: While still expensive and tricky to wield, early firearms are readily available. Instead of requiring the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat, all firearms are martial weapons. Early firearms and their ammunition cost 25% of the amounts listed in this book, but advanced firearms and their ammunition are still rare and cost the full price to purchase or craft.

Simmers with excitement! Are there cave of Drows? Let's go there first!

Yes, right under your feet...a mile or more down, though. :P

Once you have sent me your character by email or posted it on 3edb.com, the next step is to think of an exploit or minor adventure you may have had in Sasserine that may have bought you some minor fame in your district. When everybody has given me their character, I will post a quick intro, then you can post your intro, and we can begin. Also, please remember to create an alias with your character's name for posting in the Gameplay thread. You should be able to include a tag with some basic character information as well. For help, please see other gameplay threads on the forums, and see how players have theirs set up.

Hi.

Well hello.

Hello to you both! Our third player said he should have his character to me and have a profile created by sometime today. I'll work on a GMPC to tag along, and we can get rolling.

My GMPC is complete, and the 3rd player has sent me his character. I will post an introduction, and the game can begin. Please try to post at least once or twice daily. Also, remember to enter some information in your character's profile as I have done with Jarael.

Please disregard the bit about advanced firearms as they do not exist in my setting, and are not allowed in the campaign.

Helena, there are three schools in the Noble District: Thenalar Academy, Cloudcrystal Academy, and House of the Dragon. Since you chose Academy Graduate for your district feat, which school is your alma mater?

I have been thinking of using Fate Core's Zones during combat. That way we have a rough idea of placement and how far the characters can move since I won't be using grid maps. Thoughts?

That sounds pretty good.

Also Thelanar is her Alma Mater.

GO CELESTIALS!

Hey guys. I am on my honeymoon in San Diego, so once I get back to my gaming stuff, I will pick up the pace.

Hi

My wi-fi at home is giving me fits, and I have to use a roundabout method to post properly from my iPod. I apologize for the delay in posting, and hope to have something for everyone soon. Also, Reginold, could you please either enter your character on 3edb.com with description and background, or email it to me? I noticed one of your old characters is still on 3edb.com, so you should be able to sign in again by choosing the Forgot Password link.

Just FYI, if I post what Jarael does in one of your posts, I won't make a separate one for her. Also as a reminder, I would appreciate posting as often as possible, or at least as quickly as possible after one of mine for you. As it stands today, it's been a week with no posts.
