Ami and Yeen are ready to go and keep posting. I love it if others would commit to check the days of and around the schedule. I see no reason that we can be consistent around the GM's postings.
I started work yesterday so didn't have a chance to post. I have the long weekend, but after that posts are going to slow from my end. As I get into the routine I may be able to get things posted more quickly. For now I'm aiming for the following.
Posting Goal
At least 1/day on weekends (Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun, Sun/Mon*)
2-3 posts during the week.*I rotate on call shifts so anytime I'm on 24 hours on Saturday or Sunday I have Friday or Monday off.

Pacing wise I'm still working to hit my during the week posting, but weekends have been very manageable. I have a three day weekend (yeah for interns starting, I get an extra day off) so I'll be around today to post / be active in discussion.
Group is really close to wrapping up the island adventuring. I agree with the general sentiments here. It was refreshing to finally get a at least a minor NPC that wasn't looking to toss a fit about one thing or another.
I don't have a good sense of the next book yet, but it'll at least be back in a locale where it doesn't feel like an ornery goose chase.

You're talking about the cat, right?

lol. Sure and the bird lady that is helping fight the spike stone dudes.

Anyone have a line with Otah? I can GMPC folks also if that keeps things moving.
Otah Cragsmith
I'm finally settling into my role here at the new job and can probably be fine during the week. (He says as he has a 2nd interview this week for yet another promotional opportunity at a different location...)
Weekends are a little harder as I'm hardly home during them. I just got a keyboard/case/attachment-thing for my tablet, so it ...should... be better.
GM Lareg
End of month administrative requirements combined with a Friday overnight shift that led to sleeping most of Saturday away finds me short on time. Expect updates Monday if I don't get to you all tonight. Many apologies.
Mahdi al-Jabira
I may not get a chance to post again until Monday, going on a short camping trip. I might be able to before then, but if you wind up waiting on me, feel free to bot.
Mahdi's out of haste right now, but should combat erupt he'd probably try and blind enemies with his remaining glitterdust.
GM Lareg
I'll be active posting today. Grandparents coming in to town tonight so although I have tomorrow off too won't be too active. Going to give Mahdi a spot to update until about noon CST before I GMPC as there is an important plot point here.
Pent Arotha
The rest of the week is going to prove difficult for consistent attentive connectivity, so roll me along like a wet fish barrel to keep up the momentum, should it be deemed needed.
GM Lareg
Early shift on Saturday so though I may be on some, posting will pick up either way Sunday / Monday.

As much as I will miss you all, I think it might be time to close the door on this campaign. It’s been a week since my last post, and there’s no end in sight to this round, let alone this combat - I can’t even say when I’ll post again. I don’t feel this is a sustainable pace and think we should talk about ending the game.
I had concerns when Lareg indicated his new slower schedule, but he’s not been able to maintain even that plan. I lay no blame here, it’s just the way it is. Life gets in the way. :)
However, campaigns need a certain pace to keep them thriving. We’re no where near that rate in my opinion, and I don’t want to be checking this campaign regularly for the next few years, just to post every week or two.
So I suggest we let it go. I’m happy to entertain other suggestions if folks feel differently as I do like these characters and what we’ve built so far.
What are your thoughts?

Happy Thanksgiving?
Timing on the half's post might be ill, but I'll happily listen to others, and what shall transpire as the fate of our beleaguered Legacy. I slipped in halfway through Book 1, first GM, then second GM, now third.
I've seen things people wouldn't believe. Attack penmenships on fire off the shoulder of Osiriani. I watched wereleopards glitter in the dark near the Nethys Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die?
Mahdi al-Jabira
I've been trying to keep up a regular posting rate since the last time we discussed this. I think I've been managing that. Personally, I think I've also made it clear that this game isn't the top of my enthusiasm rank anymore, but as I said last time, I'm willing to continue if everyone else is.
I think the person who can answer this question primarily is Lareg. He's the one who knows his own schedule best and his own level of enjoyment in GMing it.
GM Lareg
Hey. Thanks for the posts. I put up combat stuff before realizing these where here even though Pent gave me a heads up. Was thinking these would be posts in the game thread, that's my bad.
I'm glad to go either way. I think at this point I've been getting in weekly posts, with some more often. I totally respect if that isn't enough for others.
What does a good schedule and committed play look like to each of you?

Well, campaigns that slip below a post a day from the DM tend to falter and fail in my experience. PbP takes a certain momentum, and that becomes harder to achieve when the game pace slows. It can be done - I'm in a few games that are slower than that - but they are my least favorite.
I was willing to try this campaign at a slower pace, but once a week is simply too slow. At that rate, combats take months of real time, and it becomes difficult or impossible to keep track of the plot without extensive notes and look-backs.
If you are all comfortable with weekly posting, that's totally fine. I'm just talking from my perspective. I'll bow out (after combat, I won't leave in the lurch) and you can continue on.

I don't know if I need -every- day (though momentum is best kept up with that, it's true), but maybe once every two days would be good/sustainable, as a general pace, with gaps if necessary when especially busy. (If that is feasible for our hard-working GM.)
I admit that when the posts get too drawn out I have a hard time remembering what's going on, who we're fighting, etc. In general if PBP didn't have a search function I'd often be lost, heh.

Looking back at this goal it seems to me that it's the weekly posts that are getting missed. I would continue to push myself for more posts, but realistically work stuff is pretty unpredictable. I also think it's important to acknowledge that I haven't made weekend posts as I want to at times.
I'd be open to other ways of running combat or even opening up the GM responsibilities so that one of you fine folks could step in to keep combat moving. Just some thoughts. Thanks again for the openness to possibilities.
Otah Cragsmith
I'm under no pretense on the speed of my posts. I checked in Wednesday night and Thursday morning but didn't say anything because I wanted to see where everyone else was at. [And Otah's turn wasn't up in gameplay.]
I was excited to get a chance to play with you, but this game has not brought out the best in my ability to write interesting or exciting content. That's my own fault, as Otah is an interesting combat mechanic, but I haven't been able to flesh him out. (I do have interesting PCs... Otah doesn't feel like one of them.)
Honestly, in my other games, when I realize its time to check in my brain says "hey, I wonder what happened since my last post." This game, it says "Go see if its your turn in a fight." or "what happened when?"
And this whole last scroll thing, (which I hear a lot of GMs actually skip), has made wanting to post feel like a chore, which is unfortunate. It's some combination of poorly written AP, the way it's presented, and my becoming so much busier after school ended. (Who would have thought?!) But I'm only really posting for social contract, and hoping it gets better. It's not a very good reason and I apologize that it took it's toll.
I'm okay with stepping away. If you continue, my absence might help your pacing.
I'll stick around until the fight ends as well.

Well, Life certainly takes to unbeaten paths at times, doesn't it? Uncobbled, hilly climbs... soggy-bottomed swamp tramples... starts to wear us down, gives us pause as to the trade-off for exerting ourselves to continue on, given the enjoyment.
Aldebert, Amiamble, and Mahdi are the core foundation for this campaign of the Legacy of Fire AP. It's had its share of player and GM farewells, and for the effort, we find ourselves with Four Books behind us, Two to go. With Pent and Otah joining the fight in the latter game, and GM Lareg nobly stepping forward to resuscitate Legacy before it grinded to a halt with GM Are's departure, there was the promise of a graceful finish. That's become harder to see as of late, with posts slowing painfully, Player and GM alike.
Now, we have Aldebert Shortstack and Otah Beardtripper bowing out, while Ami, Mahdi, and Pent sit patiently listening for a clearer bell to ring.
Before this Legacy comes to a premature close, I offer another path, as of this time unbeaten to me- I would attempt to GM the last two books, converting Pent into a permanent NPC to the party. I'm currently bringing an Age of Worms campaign into Book 7 of 12 as its GM, so I'll be present for the next year on our illustrious boards, at the least. I'm also running two other characters, one in a sunsetting Reign of Winter campaign, the other in a midpoint Shackled City campaign. I have sent all kids to college, and can post GM duties at least once a day, hopefully more.
Aldebert, Amiamble, and Mahdi are well-developed characters, and deserve a full run. Otah, I totally respect your candor, and would oblige you either way, if you still wanted to step away from the game. I've spoken with GM Lareg, and can obtain the PDFs and get up to speed within the week, should the consensus favor this pursuit. I will admit to a fondness for Pent, as well, but will honor the group's decision in shifting rails, or pulling this train to a stop.
GM Lareg
Sounds like a plan. I'll continue to work things behind the scenes in preparation for a handoff with Pent. Unless there are objections I consider this a set plan. Let's give others a chance to post over the next day as combat moves forward. I have an artistic flare in mind for the current combat so as to speed the transition so no worries about slogging through the current combat.
Pent Arotha
Hey all- I wanted to thank GM Lareg for picking up this herculean task, and running with us, keeping the hearthfire burning. He has posted his last post as our illustrious GM today. From here, I will take up the torch, as soon as Paizo transfers the 'Inheritance'. Gave them the heads up today, so we should be up and running in a day or two, hopefully!

Invitations have been sent for the updated Roll20 maps, already got the halfs on board :) Expect a push post later tonight, everyone.

I..... apparently never uploaded level 10 Mahdi. *squinting* Woops. I've been running him a level behind.
So! Level 11!
+6 HP
+1 FCB +1 Spell known in Spellbook (must be lower than max you can cast)
Saves: +1 will from his level 9 version though not his level 10
Spells: OH MAMA THE SPELLS. New spells learnt: 6th: Elemental Body III, Greater Heroism. 5th: Life Bubble. Also a whole lotta new spells slots to fill with stuff. Like useless fire spells.
Feats: Opposition Research. also due to my shitty bookkeeping I forgot Mahdi had a feat he got at 9th level that I never updated to reflect, it's Steward of the Great Beyond and as the GM you should probably know about it cuz it's slightly weird. Basically a once per day maybe-stop-someone-teleporting/summoning.
Skills: Ughh mostly knowledges kept high. I'll post the whole sheet but ugh.

Good to clean house, Mahdi :). I had Pent info, and played from it offline, but still hadn’t updated the profile. A pox on us laggards!!

Though Ami took Dispel Evil, he really wanted to take Dispel Good so he could send everyone back home. He declined the option not just because of the dubious RP merits of it, but also because there just might be a reason why the party is on this particular plane.
Amiamble Piddlespot
Mahdi's not good. :P
Ayep. The Dispel Good plan would have some unfortunate side effects...but well within acceptable limits.
The halfling is will to accept some losses. ;)

It would be nice to have an Otah update here, before you guys enter your next round of confrontations. Someone on holiday, and forgot to chirp?
Otah Cragsmith
Oof, sorry for the delay.
I haven't had a moment yet to update Otah (yesterday and today was super busy at work and home.)
I'll post in game today and update Otah when I get home tonight.
