The time of the year where school projects and directorial responsibilities for the spouse intersect for a crazy time. Will aim for at least a post / day. Should have time today and tomorrow for more, but come Monday things may get dicey.

Otah Cragsmith |

Howdy all,
I'm heading out of town tomorrow until late Sunday.
I might be able to check in Friday and Sunday, but if Otah holds the game back, please GMPC.

On the horizon.
So although things will be more or less in the clear for me after making it through tomorrow, I'll be out of town next week from Thursday through Saturday for my graduation (yippie).
Graduating means for the summer other than family vacation I'll have more time to post. However, it also means this coming fall I may be starting a full time residency as a full-time hospital chaplain (I should know about this residency in the next few weeks).
If I get a spot in the residency program my availability for posting will be drastically reduced (similar to this past summer with my internship doing similar work). Although this past summer I tried to continue updating I think we can all agree it did not go very well. My inclination is to plan to wrap things up as much as we can by the end of summer as I would really like to see through to the end of the AP.
Open to a slowed posting rate come fall and other ideas, but just wanted to give you all an advanced heads up and see what others think.

I'm good for trying to pack in the goodness through the Summer, as well as for deceleration in Fall. Hope your workload allows you to manage, and still have fun!

GM Lareg |

Sounds good. I'm officially graduated and accepted into the residency program. Start date of September 1st.

Oh Piddlespot! Congrats, yo! We're going to make you an honorary halfling!

Otah Cragsmith |

Is true! Few hours from now and I'm done with my BS in Computer Science.

GM Lareg |

Family vacation times a coming. Heading out Monday, but should be able to check in that evening. Tuesday and Wednesday not likely to be any updates.

GM Lareg |

Short time home this week before heading to Michigan. All the travel is packed into June so posting should be more consistent. I'll be online until Sunday then offline for a couple days.

GM Lareg |

Sad to hear about your grandmother.
Slow posting here getting furniture assembled before I head off to camp with my oldest. Only a few days, but not sure I'll have wi-fi. I'll post if I can.

GM Lareg |

On the road today, but should have wifi tonight and the rest of the week.

Otah Cragsmith |

Hey guys, I'm on a birthday trip this weekend. I'll have my netbook with me, so I might be able to post... but bot me if you need to progress.

For those that don't know yet already, I recently received a promotion. I'm moving into a new work environment on Tuesday (The 1st is my start day!)
I don't see this effecting my (admittedly slow-ish) post ability, but Monday and Tuesday of next week may be super hectic as I finalize gathering my stuff and setting it up the day after.

Pent Arotha |

Going dark til Monday, good people. There is a Lollapa-loose in my neck of the woods, so I go off to sacrifice what little hearing I still have left, by entering the hunting grounds of downtown Chicago...

GM Lareg |

Have fun. I may GMPC as it looks like I just missed posting before you headed out.

GM Lareg |

We're going to pause here so you all can level up to 10 and Mahdi can rejoin us.

I started work yesterday so didn't have a chance to post. I have the long weekend, but after that posts are going to slow from my end. As I get into the routine I may be able to get things posted more quickly. For now I'm aiming for the following.
Posting Goal
At least 1/day on weekends (Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun, Sun/Mon*)
2-3 posts during the week.
*I rotate on call shifts so anytime I'm on 24 hours on Saturday or Sunday I have Friday or Monday off.

Ami and Yeen are ready to pounce/help/cry...as needed.

Just dippin' my finger in the stew, to check its temperature. Our generous GM is adapting to a new work schedule, and two of our players are getting busy, and posting rates are slowing down. How's everyone doing? Inquiring minds want to know :)

Mahdi al-Jabira |

Well, I do have several things going on right now that are slowing me-- I got into a few too many games for Gameday, including one I'm GMing, and at the same time I have a big work deadline I'm working on. So these are certainly factors, albeit temporary ones.
Beyond that, though, I admit my enthusiasm for this game is at something of a low ebb. That's not anyone's fault: it's a campaign that's gone for over four years now, the longest running of all my PBPs I'm currently in, and I think there's some eventual burnout regardless. Also this section of the story, with the running-around to various NPCs that have generally seemed to be sort of all low-key dismissive of the PCs, is I think something that feels more frustrating in the slow setting of PBP. At a table, this would probably be done in four or five sessions; in PBP it takes us months and months and it starts to feel like we just wild-goose-chase around from "here, NPC insults you" to the next scene of the same.
(That's not a commentary on your GMing, Lareg; from what I've heard about this AP, this is sort of a frustrating stretch for PCs sometimes. It's just that PBP kind of exacerbates that aspect of it, I think.)
On the other hand, as I understand it, Legacy of Fire wraps up at around PC level 12? We have all invested a lot of time in this game. I can see myself finishing out the game if our finish line is in sight, as it were.
I know I've been light with the RP lately but Mahdi's kind of an in-character jerk who would be the person who would especially find the dismissive NPCs to get under his skin (I mean, he legitimately has the Pride drawback!) and I haven't wanted to really inflict his temper tantrums on the rest of the table, since there's roleplay and there's obnoxiousness, etc.

Well, Mahdi, the finish line is a little ways off.
We're in book four, levels 9-11. Book 5 is 11-13 and book 6 goes to 15th. So we're past the half-way point for sure, but not by a lot I think. And high level combats often slow down PbP.
At GM Lareg's new rate of posting (assuming we're all johnny-on-the-spot ready for him every time - which has its own problems) it'll still be years before we're through.
