Nisa spins putting her back towards the cabin, scanning for the Lynx. Seeing where Dalvin shot an arrow, she clutches her fists tightly before throwing her hands out in front of her, shimmering green energy rippling down her arms. From in front of her feet, a small sprout cracks out of the ground, then explodes into a massive tree trunk hurtling towards the grass.

Drako bites down on its leg, but the wight largely ignores the dog, focusing instead on Skalla. The wight knocks away the skald's blow with a swing of its ax.
The lynx keeps low, ducking under Dalvin's arrow and Nisa's wooden blast. Its element of surprise gone, it sprints towards Nisa, Dalvin, and Rayne before stopping just short. It stands at the threshold of long grass and stumps, eyes darting between the party and the wight inside. It lets out a low growl, ears pinned back.

Grimacing from the bolt now lodged in his chest Rolar turns and advances on the wight "Oh bloody hell Keloch, why did ye go and git yerself turned into a bloody undead fer?"
As he closes to within striking distance Rolar swings Heart Rend out wide "Don't worry friend, it will be over soon and then ye can rest." With that, the mighty axe comes swinging in with an almost unnatural speed.

Swiftly pulling the daggers from her hip and her thigh, Rayne dashes into the cabin.
After sparing a quick glance at the bolt in Rolar's chest, Rayne sweeps an arm out in front of her in an arc, slashing her blade through the creature's body.

He was flat-footed.
Rolar's axe bounces off the iron-like flesh of Keloch, but Rayne's strike is true. Keloch whirls when stabbed, bringing his axe down in a deadly arc.
"Get out" he rasps, his burning eyes filled with hatred. Rayne shifts to the side to avoid the worst of the blow, the axe blade shunting off the padded shoulder of her armor. Although the pain is dulled, the strike feels as though Rayne has been dropped into the waters of an icy river. Numbness threatens to overcome her faculties, slowing her down and draining her strength.
Whatever essence Keloch might have drained from Rayne seems to invigorate the wight, as the deep gouge left by the rogue's dagger begins to seal closed.

A creature with temporary negative levels receives a new saving throw to remove the negative level each day. The DC of this save is the same as the effect that caused the negative levels.

"Get out, and leave you to menace these woods unchecked? NO!" Skalla roars as she takes a half-step forward, getting into the wight's face. Fury suffuses her, anger at all these delays and obstacles when so much was at stake! Why couldn't the world be kind for once?
Start Raging Song as a standard action, allies in hearing range must choose whether to accept its effects or not. If accepted, affected allies gain a +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +1 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC.

Drako lunges at Keloch again, fueled by Skalla's fury, and tries to sink his teeth into the wight's leg.

The arrow passes over the lynx's head and whatever seemed to hold it in place passes. With a snarl, it pounces at Dalvin. The gnome throws himself to the side in time to avoid its bite, but the lynx catches him with both of its clawed paws.
Nisa can use her readied action and Dalvin takes 10 damage. Rayne and Rolar can now act.

Rayne gasps and doubles over with a grunt of surprise when the axe hits her, her body immediately starting to numb, her strength quickly draining away. Nervous, she glances up at Keloch in time to see his wounds heal before them. "The axe," she manages to choke out to the others as she staggers backwards. "Watch... the axe."
With labored breath, she stumbles out of the cabin in time to see the lynx lunge at Dalvin.
Withdrawing because I don't want to die :P

Nisa raises a hand and channels her energy through the stump closest to the lynx; a shard of wood erupts from the stump and tears across the wild cat's ribs leaving a bloody wound.
The wight whirls at the sound of Rolar's challenge and swings his axe for the dwarf's head. Rolar sees the attack coming and ducks under it.

Dalvin yelps as he struggles to get away from the lynx. Whatever reason it wasn't attacking before, it doesn't matter now. Dalvin chides himself as he gets off the ground, he had let the eerie atmosphere of the cabin throw him off guard.
He puts distance between himself and the large cat, suddenly feeling light headed from the loss of blood.

In the cabin, Drako growls angrily when Rayne is struck by the wight. Enraged, the dog lunges again at the undead creature.

Nisa closes her eyes and breathes deeply. The grass around her feet explodes with life, pulsing with a soft yellow-green haze. As she exhales the ground around her ripples with life, as dozens of flowers sprout and bloom in seconds. At the peek of her exhale Nisa slams her fist into the ground causing a small branch-less tree to explode to life underneath of the lynx, angled to throw the beast back.

Gathering Energy for one round causing a very loud and noticeable effect within 30 feet of me. This also allows me to use a Pushing Infusion on my standard attack without burn. Pushing infusion allows me a combat maneuver to push back the lynx 5 feet per point of burn. In this case only 5 feet.

Nisa's blast strikes the lynx before it can chase after Dalvin, sending the cat tumbling through the grass. It comes to a stop when it hits one of the many stumps ringing the cabin and lies still.
Inside, the wight once known as Keloch croaks in anger as Rayne backs away from the fight. It knocks away clumsy swings from Skalla and Rolar and steps towards the dwarf, swinging its axe towards Rolar's head, but the fighter deflects the attack with his shield.
The lynx is out of the combat! Everybody can act!

Every moment they spent fighting this creature increased the danger for them. Incensed by her own failure to strike a decisive blow against the wight, Skalla growls and redoubles her efforts.

Turning away from the lynx, Rayne stumbles groggily back into the cabin towards the ongoing fight. Seeing Keloch still standing, she grips a dagger in her right hand and sends it spiraling through the air towards the wight, grimacing as a wave of exhaustion washes over her.

Realizing he is holding his breath, Dalvin releases a sharp exhale when Nisa takes out the lynx. The gnome looks at the creature's suddenly limp body, regretful that he had resorted to violence against the creature so quick. It was probably just scared.
He shakes his head and darts for the cabin. It sounded like the fight inside was still raging on.

Nisa's face twists in mixture of sorrow and relief as the lynx ceases it's attacks. Following fast on Dalvin's heels, she bursts into the cabin. Scanning the room, she sees Rolar with a bolt in his chest, she positions herself behind him, one out towards the wight.

Although I don't like doing this, I'm going to bot Rolar's character until he returns, just to get this moving in the right direction again.
Rolar circles Keloch cautiously, to better open up avenues for his allies to enter the fray. Gritting his teeth, the warrior swings his axe for the wight's skull. The attack is a conservative one, initiated from behind the protection of his shield, and Keloch sidesteps the blow.
I rolled a 6 to hit for Rolar. Just keeping the party's output consistent.
Keloch returns Rolar's attack with a blow from his hand axe; a strike that the dwarf takes on his shield. Although he isn't wounded, the blow sends a shock through his arm.

Damn this wight! What sort of curse had it put on them, to have their blows miss so? Snarling, Skalla swings again, putting all her weight behind the swing. And roars in frustration as Keloch ducks to one side, avoiding her wrath.

Botting Nisa and Rolar to keep things moving.
Positioned between Rolar and Rayne, Nisa takes aim at the wight, careful not to strike any of her new companions. At her command, a cylindrical pillar erupts from the nearest wall and slams into Keloch. Audible breaking bones can be heard as the wight's spine is snapped. Despite the tremendous damage, it continues to fight.
Sensing a kill, Keloch steps forward, throwing his earlier caution to the wind. He sweeps Heart Render towards Keloch, but the wight shifts forward and past his blow, lashing wildly at Nisa with its own axe. The hobgobling sidesteps the swing.
Rolled a 19 for Nisa and a 1 for Rolar. Round and round we go! Party is up.

"Just die, you son of a—" Rayne says with gritted teeth before a wave of dizziness washes over her. She steadies herself against the wall until the room stops spinning, then gathers what little strength she has left to pull the dagger from her boot and send it sailing towards Keloch.

Nisa throws forward her hand and sends out a ripple of pulsating green light towards the wight. The ground beneath her feet, splits open as a dozen roots, cord together like a whip, lash out towards the undead.

Rolar steps forward, poised to swing, but the wight backhands him with a blow that sends the dwarf sprawling. The dwarf rises slowly, but a defiant grin spreads across his face. "Ye'll have to do better than that," Rolar mutters, raising Heart Rend for another attack.

Breathing heavily, Rayne slides her last two daggers from their sheaths on her wrists and wearily flicks one towards Keloch.

Sensing an opportunity to finish the distracted Keloch off, Rolar steps forward, Heart Rend raised to strike, but the wight whirls and delivers another blow to the dwarf that he only just deflects with his shield.
Party is up. You guys are so close to killing it!

"Aha!" pants Skalla, encouraged by the flurry of successful hits against the creature. Time to finish it off and be on their way again. Who knows what the noise of their struggle would attract.

Dalvin pulls back another arrow, then pauses for just a moment and takes a deep breath inward. In one swift movement, the aura of a swift tiger seems to emanate from the small gnome. He then releases the arrow just as Drako lunges for another bite.

Grunting in frustration, Nisa sends another pulse of wood energy into the whip if roots. In a motion oddly similar to a snakes strike, the roots lash out separating like 5 tiny spears aiming at the wights chest.
Wood Blast: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Piercing Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

The five wooden spears punch through Keloch's chest. The wight groans, the red light in its eyes fading, and collapses.
With Kelloch's destruction, the ruined cabin falls silent. Dust and cobwebs coat the interior. Most of the furniture has been destroyed, but the wight's sword and bow still hang over the fireplace. A single leather boot, surprisingly familiar lies on the floor nearby.
Ding dong, the wi(gh)tch is dead! Combat is over.

Skalla Kel Tath |

Breathing heavily, Skalla lets her weapon fall. This had been a grueling struggle. Not even the hobgoblins had put up such a fight. She shakes her head, regretting the circumstances that had arrayed Kelloch against them - he would have been a formidable ally, should he had lived.

Dalvin Arikani |

Dalvin takes in a sharp breath, as his bow arm falls suddenly to his side. He slowly puts his weapon away and calls Drako over to his side. He runs his hands through the dog's fur, grateful to see the wight hadn't harmed his faithful companion.

Dalvin glances around the room, eyeing the bow above the fireplace for just a moment. Too big for a gnome like him. Oh, well.
"Looks like Veld's suspicions about Keloch were right," he observes glumly. Dalvin approaches the nearby boot, studying it curiously.
"This boot... Does it match the one we found with the wolf pups?"

Rayne Marevar |

Rayne steadies herself with a hand on the wall, drawing in ragged breaths as she stares at the now-lifeless body slumped on the floor. Several heartbeats pass before she wearily pushes herself off of the wall and teeters towards the wight, kneeling beside it to pull her daggers from its form, one by one.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 - 1 = 24
When they’re all relatively wiped clean and returned to their designated hiding spaces, she looks around the room, her eyes stopping on a faintly warped piece of floorboard. Moving to it to look closer, she wordlessly drops to the floor and, with little effort, pulls the board away to reveal a locked, hidden compartment. She grunts quietly in minor annoyance and gets to work on picking the lock open.

Dalvin is pretty sure it's the matching boot.
Despite her exhaustion, Rayne is able to pop the lock open. Inside is hidden a sack of gold, a pair of potions in clay bottles, and a quiver of arrows.
Five of the arrows, the boot, the two potions, and the longbow hanging from the wall all detect as magical.

"Hey Dalvin. I have something for you." Rayne slides the quiver of arrows towards the gnome, then retrieves the sack of gold and clay bottles from inside the compartment. She looks over the potion bottles with bleary eyes before sighing and leaning back against a nearby pile of ruined furniture. "I have no idea what these are," she says simply as she closes her eyes and leans her head back, her hand resting on her aching side.

"Let me have a look at those, dear."
Skalla extends a hand to Rayne, attuning her senses to the items. One could pick up an amazing amount and variety of knowledge from books, and her innate talents resonate to the magic of the objects.
