Geborah's grin grows wider and more wicked as she rubs feeling back into her wrists and ankles. She knots the Archstar into the tattered sleeve of her shift, then takes out the veil and removes the sack and vial. "Let's see what other toys we have before our next move," she whispers.


The vial contains a bluish liquid of some kind - definitely not an ordinary liquid. The sack contains several sets of clothing that look like they might fit you, as well as a couple of smaller pouches and an old-looking pair of reading glasses with slightly cracked lenses.

The sack contains a traveler's outfit for each of you that fits surprisingly well for clothes gifted from a strange bag, as well as spell component pouches for those who need them. Tatienne, the glasses are an occultist's implement keyed to divination.

Keeping his voice down now that their free, "So crazy thought, we're all thinking that the window makes a hole in something right? Well if Geborah's map is right that cell over there." Wraith points to the cell at the bottom right of the map.

"That would let us get at least one person behind the guards especially the one with the horn. It might be a waste but it would let us deal with that one without going into alot of resources."

to be honest in all the times I've ran this even I didn't think of this plan till now!


Oh, Wraith, by the way, your Knowledge (local) check. The guards' equipment looks well-maintained, although it does not look like it's any more well-made than normal equipment would be. They have longswords, their leather-wrapped clubs, bows with arrows, and look to be wearing chain shirt. You're pretty sure all except the clubs and arrows are marked with the insignia of Talingarde. Neither guard looks to be particularly lacking in their faculties.

Geborah hands the bottle of blue liquid to Fireskorn hesitantly, clearly wanting to shut him up while not really wanting to give it away.

She gives a slow nod to Wraith's plan. "So some of us would go through the wall here," she whispers, drawing an X on her map which I have also placed on the GM's map, "and get between them and the stairs before they know it? Might work. We could time it so that someone places the window as soon as the guards open the door, come at them two ways. I'm game."

GM, what's the illumination in the cell block? Are there torches, or is it pitch black?

Jezabel grins maniacally at FireSkorn as he frees her.

"I like you." she tells him.

Once free she glances at her wrists, licking any blood off of them with an ecstatic smile.

"Mmmm..."

She slips out of her prisoner's clothes, not in the least bit ashamed of her own nudity, and puts on her new clothes, humming softly all the while.

She takes a spell component pouch, offered by Geborah and slips it onto her belt, but needs nothing else, wiggling her fingers at the others and replying with a smile "I've got all I need."

Jezabel inspects the bluish vial for FireSkorn. Detect Magic and Spellcraft

When it's time to get moving she falls quiet--the first time you've heard her quiet at all since she became conscious. She moves near the front of the group completely without fear, keeping a wary eye out for danger. Probably second? I assume Balam wants to go first. Does anyone else?

Balam takes his clothes with a silent nod. There was no need for excessive talking. I'd rather not do this in mixed company, especially a child, but this is not the time to be demure. Still, I don't need to traumatize the girl more than she already is. Instead, he turns so he's facing a corner and quickly changes.

He pats himself down, and stretches out his back muscles, preparing himself for a fight. "Your plan is sound, Wraith. But, what are the odds that they will see the window through the bars of the cell? We will not only need to be silent, but perfectly timed." He purses his lips. "It is bold. We need to be bold. I propose I go through the window. I am the best with a blade, and the best defense we have against them descending the stairs, or dealing with reinforcements. There are six of us. Perhaps, Tatienne, Geborah, and I can go through the window. Ebveryone else, stay at the door."

Too bad none of us get a sneak attack T_T

which way does the door open and to what side?

"Well my thought that the dark of the cell and the dark of the interrogation room will prevent them from seeing the hole. After that I figure they'll send one guard in like usual and once he's you attack the other since he'll be looking into the cells and not into the room behind him. That should prevent him from sounding the horn and at the same time we attack the one already inside."

"With our plan to keep one alive for information, you seem strong enough to hold down one guard while we deal with the other."

Are there any people in the other cells?

Sounds like placing the window there assumes that the cell we need to go through to get there is unlocked. If it's not they'll probably hear FireSkorn picking the lock from their post. Also, what if the door from that room to the place the guards are standing is locked? Then we've divided our group unnecessarily.

Jezabel will follow along with whatever plan you guys decide, even if it's completely insane, but I think there's less obstacles if we place it in the wall between us and the guards. Picking locks takes time and isn't silent.

Whichever place we go through, Jezabel wants to be one of the first ones into combat. If we split into the two groups that Balam suggested, she'll be first through the door on her group.


The vial is a potion of cute light wounds. I am in the waiting room of the dentist’s office, so this has to be quick. The other cells are open, and there are no other prisoners in the cell block. The enclosed room next to your cell looks like some sort of high-security cell. The wall to the cell block is stone. The guards cannot see you unless they open the door.

Jezabel leans in nice and close to FireSkorn, and whispers in his ear "You'll want to hang onto that. There will be lots and lots of ouchies to come." Then she stands back up and winks at him, before moving over to the door to their cell.

"Ready?" she asks with a manic smile.

Finally taking a few to change into one of the clothes provided and strapping on a component pouch as well. Wraith isn't worried about modisty as the tattered rags they had them wearing barely covered anything.

"Well I'm not a tactician, I'll follow everyone's lead. Either way I'm ready to get out of here!"


Mildly repulsed by the unwashed bodies on display, Geborah pulls a modest black dress on over her rags, then yanks the rags down and off, reclaiming her Archstar before kicking them into the corner. "Must...resist...urge...to burn these..." she mutters.

"Guards first," she whispers. "Stone cell might hold a howling madman or the like. Three of us go through window into interrogation room, wait at the door. Other three wait here, make noise. When guard opens cell block door, three in interrogation room pounce on guard with horn from behind. All clear? Pick teams?"

Once everyone has chosen their places, Geborah takes a deep breath and calls on Asmodeus for guidance. Then she slips quietly across the room into the southeast cell, peels the window patch from the scarf and places the embroidery on the wall to take root.

Balam nods. "That's the plan, yes. Geborah and the Rat with me. Jezabel, Wraith, and Tatienne, make noise and wait." With that, he heads off towards the cell adjoining the interrogation room. Dagger raised, he motions for Geborah to make the window, and he quietly steps through. If all is clear, he motions for the Rat and Geborah to follow. If not, he deals with it.

Where Geborah placed the patch, a window large enough for a human-sized person to fit through appears on the wall into the interrogation room. The torchlight from the cell block provides some illumination, but it's clear that they have extinguished any lights that were in the room itself. You can see light filtering around the edges of the door from the torches in the guard room outside. Balam, Geborah, and FireSkorn take their positions at the door, ready to open it and come upon guardsmen from behind.

Crouching, the woman skulks along the line of cells, eventually coming to a stop by the door. Flattening against it, Taty closes her eyes and wills herself to a heightened state of awareness, and then focuses on the dagger in her hand. She wills it to strike truer, harder, to kill quicker.

Giving Jezebel a nod, she mouths the word, GO!

Casting Heightened Awareness which Taty will expend for a +2 initiative bonus as soon as a roll is needed. Then she's using one point of mental focus to give the dagger a +1 enhancement for one minute. Tagline updated.


Tatienne, are you trying to avoid the guards' notice (Stealth Check), or just stab the first one to come through the door?

Jezabel moves forward, drumming her fingers along the nearby cell bars as she goes.

She ends her movement just in reach of the door, directly across from Tatienne, with her bare hands twitching in excitement.

Wait, which way does the door open? Can I target them from across from Tatienne, or will the door open right into my face? If the door would get in my way when opened please adjust me so I can strike whoever comes through the door. Jezabel cares more about being able to attack than she does about maintaining flank.


The door swings in towards Tatienne, actually. I've moved Tatienne back a space to reflect that. She can 5-foot step to strike at the first to enter. Wraith, just waiting to see if you're in position.

Before Wraith move out, he grabs some of the rags strewn about making a a couple small bundles. As Wraith move into position, he douses any light source that can be, making it more difficult for the guards to see whats going on in the room. Tossing one of the bundles to Jeza, he whispers "Gag the horn if he goes to blow it, i'll try to do the same if given the chance."

Afterwards he move behind Tatienne, crouching down to keep better hidden. Wish i knew some concealing spells now... shacking his head he nod his readiness. Wraith lightly holding onto the bundle he waits to see the guards reaction before stepping into this fight.

This would be a good time to pray but praying is trusting outside power...I'd rather trust in ones own power With this through racing in his head he reveals a wicked grin.... now the fun begins, hello world... I"m coming back!

Jezabel accepts the cloth bundle and holds it in one of her hands.


Jezabel begins making a racket, shouting, "Bong, Bong, Bong." As she runs her nails along the bars. A voice outside the door says, "I'm gonna shut that scum up." The cell block door unlocks and one of the guards steps in. His eyes fixed on the cell, he doesn't see the lurking Wraith before Tatienne and Jezabel have their chance to strike.

So, if I understand the above correctly, Taty can 5' step and take an attack?
If she can't, she'll take the 5' step in the surprise round and attack in round one.

The lock tumbles, and with a click and the turn of a handle, freedom is so close Tatienne can taste it. It has, she knows, the coppery taste of blood - this unknown guard's blood, to be precise.

Stepping up, Taty has just a moment to make eye contact, to register his surprise. The eyes tell her everything; the realization that something is very, very wrong, that there's trouble bigger than he can handle coming his way.

And then Taty plunges the dagger into the man's neck, and it slides in easily, as if the she were plunging it into nothing more than a watermelon, or a pillow. The guard's mouth slides open, slack. He's a hare caught in a hailstorm, all rolling eyes and confusion. Taty hisses in the man's face, as she twists the blade. "Goodnight, rabbit!"

Balam quietly opens the door, trying to sneak in while the Jazabel distracts the guards.

Geborah flexes her hands unconsciously as the door opens and exposes her enemy's back. She rehearses infernal syllables in her head, a spell she knows should leash him to her command...in theory. She's never used it before.

Geborah readies an action to cast Forbid Action (no communication) on the guard with the horn if he attempts to blow it.

Seeing Tatienne's blow hit heavily on the guard on front if her Wraith's muscles flex as he realizes he might have to step in at any moment to stop a call for help.

Ready action: Gag either horn or guard depending on the call for help.


Surprise Round

Balam quietly opens the door to the interview room as the guards step into the cell block, while FireSkorn presses back against the wall out of sight.

Tatienne darts forward, stabbing towards the guard’s neck as she hisses, ”Goodnight rabbit!” Unfortunately, his armor absorbs enough of the blow that, while the wound is grievous, he does not fall. Jezebel’s readied strike fails to impact hard enough to penetrate his armor, as Wraith prepares to gag either guard or horn depending on what happens next. Geborah prepares to stop the guard with the horn from blowing it if he tries to.

Begin Round 1. Balam, FireSkorn, and Tatienne are up. Attacks against Guard 1 have an extra +2 to hit from Tatienne’s Crit. They are still flat-footed.

Balam slinks up behind the guard and quickly grabs him in a fierce hug, trying to keep him from reaching for his horn.

also just thought of this now... Silence on the horn or in an area... would have been AWESOME!

As blood gushes out of the guard's neck Jezabel sniffs deeply. She smiles and her eyes roll up into her head in pleasure.

"Mmmm... You smell delicious."

Tatienne's eyes widen, as the guard still stands after what the relic hunter was sure was a death blow. Yanking the dagger free, Taty slams it down once again, though in her haste to finish the man Taty shanks it off the guards armor.
