Charisma Rerolls: A PC can spend a Harrow Point to reroll a Charisma-based check. She must abide by the new result (although if she has additional Harrow Points remaining, she can use them to attempt additional rerolls).

Destiny Shall Not Be Denied: A PC can spend a Harrow Point as an immediate action to force the GM to reroll a d20 roll. She must abide by the new result (although if she has additional Harrow Points remaining, she can use them to force additional rerolls).

Psychic Wrath: A PC with levels in a class that grants bonus spells based on her Charisma score can spend a Harrow Point to increase the power of a spell from that class’s spell list as she casts it. She increases the spell’s DC by 2 and gains a +4 bonus on caster level checks to overcome spell resistance and a +2 bonus on attack rolls for that spell.

Roll Card: Gain a +2 bonus on all Charisma-based checks. In addition, he treats his caster level as if it were 1 higher when casting spells gained from a class that grants bonus spells based on his Charisma score.

Sebastian is driven insane by the horrid spider-monster and babbles in an unknown language while punching himself in the face.

Tyrandro is still doing fine from the rear and shoots Ithier some more. It takes the hits and keeps on coming. Ithier takes 133 damage.

The lantern archons focus fire on the rear erinyes and manage to hit her quite a number of times. It isn't enough to stop her from blasting them all back to Heaven, however. Erinyes 4 takes 33 damage.

The morrigna approaches the erinyes and batters her with her webs then pulls the devil in close, binding her tightly. Erinyes 4 takes 6 damage (DR 5/good) and is grappled.

Ayako sees the Sebastian has gone insane so she gently touches him on the back and removes the condition as well as the wounds he received.

Laori oils Tyrandro's bow, applying it in a very suggestive up and down motion.

Round 4

Ithier sees its mental attacks are not as effective as it hoped so it tries another tactic and switches to physical attacks. You knew its limbs were long but you didn't quite realize the extent until the fully extended. Two claws reach out a full 30 feet to slice at Ayako and its tentacled face swipes at Sebastian. The wounds cut deep and bleed profusely. In addition, Sebastian feels a paralytic venom seeping into his veins.

Ayako takes 41 damage and has 2d6 bleed (1d6 from each claw). Sebastian takes 21 damage and has 1d6 bleed. In addition, Sebastian needs to make a Fort save DC 26 or be paralyzed for 1d4 rounds.

For lack of better options, the erinyes engaged with Sebastian continues to stab. This time, she hits twice. Sebastian takes 43 damage (34 piercing, 9 fire).

The grappled erinyes struggles but cannot escape.

The poison sinks into his veins and he is paralyzed. However his rapier glows with holy light, and casts Cure Moderate Wounds on Seb.

Ayako casts Remove Paralysis on Sebastion from a scroll to free him from the creature's strike


Round 4

Sebastian is paralyzed from the spider's wounds. His sword heals some of his wounds.

Tyrandro's first arrow drops the crimson walker but it still twitches as its fast healing continues to work. A second arrow stops the creature for good. Ithier takes 103 damage and dies.

He then attacks the ungrappled erinyes and kills it and still has one arrow to send at the grappled erinyes too. Erinyes 1 takes 82 damage and dies. Erinyes 4 takes 31 damage.

Ayako removes the paralysis from Sebastian.

Erinyes 4: Reflex save DC 23: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

With Ithier dead, Iolana blasts the last erinyes with her elemental blast. The erinyes is frostbitten and weakened against additional cold attacks. Erinyes 4 takes 43 cold (resist cold 10) and is vulnerable to cold.

Laori joins in and whacks the erinyes with her chain. Erinyes 4 takes 12 damage.

Round 5

Erinyes 4: CMD 38 to escape grapple: 1d20 + 20 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 20 - 2 = 34

The erinyes fails to escape the morriga's webs and you finish it off without effort.

Combat over.


The four erinyes each have the following: +1 chainmail, +1 flaming returning trident, cloak of resistance +1, silk rope (50 ft.)


Ayako is bleeding all over the place and so casts Heal on herself.


There are only four rooms on this floor.

Ileosa's Furies: The northwestern portion of this room is occupied by a wooden platform. Several wooden chairs—the armrests, legs, and back fitted with straps and buckles—sit on the platform. At the northeast end is an empty weapon rack.

Magical Workshop: The western portion of this room is occupied by an L-shaped wooden platform. All sorts of laboratory equipment and tools for crafting magical items lie haphazardly atop the platform.

Ileosa's Room: Three globes of fire hang suspended from the ceiling to illuminate this room with a soft, pleasant light. The southern portion of the floor is occupied by an L-shaped wooden platform. The platform is furnished with a double bed, fine carpets, an angular cupboard, and a chest of drawers. Atop the chest of drawers stands a crystal vase with fresh violets and lotus flowers. Next to the bed stands a beautiful harp with a matching stool.

Blood Repository: This chamber smells of blood. The eastern portion contains a large square basin, the rim of which is decorated with a convoluted bas-relief that resembles a jumble of snakes and slugs. Within the basin is a drop of three feet to the surface of a pool of what appears to be blood. Numerous thin crystalline tubes extend out of the wall above the basin, pass through its rim, and emerge along the inner rim, each one protruding like a tiny spigot over the pool below.
A wooden platform to the southwest of the basin is cluttered with various alchemical supplies and surgical tools. A small iron stand sits on the platform—cradled in it is a dark blue gemstone the size of a child’s fist.


SO this is where all those pipes we have seen lead to. Ayako notes the pool.

Who needs healing?

Tyrandro checks himself. "I think I'm fine. A little bruise from that sour spell everything seems to throw at us lately."


If we destroy this pool, we might stop her majesty's plot. Or at least delay it a while.

I still have these scrolls of Shatter that we did not use against the demi-lich at Scarwall. They should be able to crack the pool open.

Ayako and Iolana examine the gem. The gemstone is an immense sapphire and you discover that Ileosa has laid an insidious trap with the trap the soul spell. Sebastian's name is inscribed on the gemstone. From your knowledge of that spell, Sebastian should not touch the gem. The sapphire itself is worth 20,000 gp.

While you are inspecting the sapphire, the blood in the pool coalesces and rises up into a semi-human form.

Knowledge (Arcana or History) DC 35:
You recognize the form as an approximate resemblance of Runelord Sorshen, the Runelord of Lust.

Knowledge (Dungeoneering or Planes) DC 27:
This is an immortal ichor. Its offensive abilities are primarily attempts to charm and drain Wisdom. Its defensive abilities include: amorphous, DR 15/—; Immune acid, bludgeoning damage, electricity, mind-affecting effects, ooze traits, piercing damage; Resist cold 30; regeneration 10 (good spells, good weapons).

The creature does not speak, and may not even be able to speak, and begins to attack you.

Seb gives a yell and moves up to attack the ooze. "I don't care if it's immune to piercing. I can do other types of damage." His grip on Serithtail shifts and he now does slashing damage.

Round 1

Sebastian fearlessly steps up to the ooze woman. Entering into the blood bath, he stands knee deep in the preserved blood, when he slashes at the creature. It absorbs a portion of the attack but it recoils from the holy damage. The ichor takes 37 damage (30 slashing and 7 holy).

Tyrandro tries shoot the ooze but immediately finds out that his arrows won't work against it.

Ayako refreshes her blessing of fervor and her morrigna casts freedom of movement.

The woman glides back five feet hovering inches above the pool and creates four swarms of centipede-like creatures composed of the same blood stuff as she. The swarms engulf you and bite and sting all over.Creeping doom spell (blood composition is for thematic effect only). They have the following defensive abilities: swarm traits, immune to weapon damage.

Swarm 1 Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 6) = 17
Swarm 2 Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 2) = 14
Swarm 3 Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 6) = 16
Swarm 4 Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 1, 2) = 13

Iolana takes 17 damage. Sebastian and Morrigna takes 14 damage. Laori and Tyrandro take 16 damage. Ayako takes 13 damage. (Damage is before any DR). Everyone damaged must make 2 Fortitude saves DC 22: one for distraction and one for poison. If distracted, you become nauseated for 1 round. (Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move action per turn.) If poisoned, if poisoned, you take 1d4 Dex damage; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; cure 1 save.

The ooze then attempts a quickened charm person on Sebastian. Will save DC 18. (+5 bonus to save for being threatened)

I'll assume Iolana would want to angle the prismatic spray to hit the swarms as well. I'll also roll her Fort save to see if she is nauseated to see if the spell goes off. Iolana can roll her own save for the poison.

Iolana fights through the distraction and gets her spell off. One swarm vanishes completely, banished to an unknown plane. A second swarm is melted away by acid. The immortal ichor is hit with a jolt of electricity, however, it is immune to that element. Swarm 1 vanishes. Swarm 2 takes 60 acid damage and dies. I left a shadow of them on the map so you can see where they were but they are dead and can be treated as if they weren't there.

I don't see any action for Laori.

The ooze just barely dodges the flame strike but the fire and holy damage are very unpleasant to it. Immortal Ichor takes 26 damage.

Round 2

Tyrandro rises up above the swarm of centipedes.

Sebastian wades through the blood and slashes the ooze twice. Being and ooze, even though it is currently in a humanoid shape, it has not vulnerable spots to target. Immortal Ichor takes 74 damage. It is immune to critical hits.

Ayako and the morrigna are both nauseated by the swarms.

The immortal ichor attempts another quickened charm person on Sebastian. Will Save DC 18 again The ooze then flies up twenty feet to the ceiling to keep away from Sebastian's sword. If the charm fails, Sebastian can get an attack of opportunity on it as it moves. Then, it creates another swarm of creatures. This time flying wasps to reach those who were trying to avoid the ground centipedes.

Sebastian is the only one still on the ground, the the remaining centipedes swarm in his direction.

Sebastian takes 17 damage and needs to make two Fortitude saves DC 22 against distraction and poison.

Ichor: Reflex Save DC 23: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

The ooze isn't able to dodge Iolana's fireball and let's out a loud Reeee! as it is burned. Immortal Ichor takes 35 damage.

Ayako casts protection from evil.

And the morrigna casts spell immunity on Sebastian. Spell immunity lets you pick one spell per four caster levels. Since it is a 12th level caster, you can pick 3 spells. You picked charm person, and can also pick 2 more spells of 4th level or lower.

This time, the ichor tries to throw a punch and Sebastian, but lingering holy energy seize up its muscles. Miss.

The centipede swarm attacks the morrigna. The wasp swarms, unable to penetrate the barrier of protection from evil buzz around harmlessly. Morrigna takes 6 damage.

If Iolana puts the elemental blast at the bottom left corner between the swarms 2 and 3, she can hits all the wasp swarms except 5 and both the centipede swarms, without hitting any allies.
