Nella blesses and Luthor advances. Kajar causes one mite to pucker up a bit as a mighty swing goes over its ugly little head.

Both Mites back up, squealing and cursing in undercommon. It doesn't take a linguist to understand the general tone of their complaints. Pulling out some spiney little darts, one Mite crosses his eyes and sticks his tongue out at the feathered monstrosity that destroyed their pet centipede so easily.

Cast doom on Nbu T'ka.

Nbu T'ka Will Save, DC 10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Nbu T'ka sees flashes of failure in his eyes, and Nella pointing and laughing, but quickly shakes them off, seeing them for the lies they are. He puffs his feathers up again courageously, and eyes the Mite with malice.

The second Mite flings one of his darts at the monster half-orc, but deep in his black heart he knows he is doomed.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 for Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

"Hau da gure espazioa da ! Irten! Irten! Argiaren Demons Irten!"

Undercommon:
"This is our space! Get out! Get out! Demons of light, Get out!"

The dart bounces harmlessly off the half-orc's armor, and the Mite puckers up again, squinting his eyes at what is about to come next.

Nbu T'ka feels doubt creeping into his bones as the creature makes him wonder if Nella truly did single him out for attention because of love. Maybe she didn't have confidence in his abilities...

Shakily, Nbu T'ka steps up and lashes out with his walking stick.

"She does love me..." he whispers to his diminutive opponent.

Male Human (Michigander) GM/1 Tactical - Where on Golarion - CLW Charges: 0

The only response Nbu T'ka gets is an eyeball exploding with the force of the blow from the Tengu's Tetsubo. The puffy headed fey crumples to the ground alongside his evil little companions, his first-world blood seeping into the pebbles and sand of the cave.

As quickly as the confrontation started, it is over. The soft sound of water trickling its endless journey through the cave is all that the pathfinders can hear for a few moments.

The passegway to the east remains open, past the bodies of the Mites and the exploded slime innards of the giant centipede. The group pushes further into the tunnels, marking their paths and noting oddities as they go.

It isn't long before the whole group can here... something... coming from the direction of the tunnel they are traveling in. At first all six of the group can't shake the nagging feeling of familiarity of the voice that seems to be floating down the halls. They push forward with a sense of urgency, and curiosity.

1d6 ⇒ 5

At one point they reach a slightly more honeycombed area in the tunnels. The bluish, light producing fungi is still present, but in the center of their path the party notices a large patch of disgusting, green and brownish fungus, like a pool of rot in the middle of their way. Something about the acoustics amplifies the sound. (or perhaps they are just very close now?) and an unmistakeable feminine voice, half singing, half shouting, floats down to their ears.

"As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!”

A roar and subsequent crashing is heard moments later. The sounds of their sponsor's voice fills the entire group with courage, and respect for the knowledge that Janira has evaded and held off this mighty beast for so long.

Perception rolls:

Kajar Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Lissa Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Luthor Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Nella Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Shuo Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Lissa, Luthor, and Nbu T'ka regard the rotting fungus curiously, and all three quickly recognize that it is not a natural thing.

No one has the proper knowledge skill to learn more about this creature, unless I missed an ability where you can make an untrained check. The DC is higher than 10, so you would need something that gives you that ability specifically to identify monsters, etc.

Nbu T'ka cheers as the mite goes down. The "spider swarm strut" is definitely evident in his stride as they progress further into the cave complex.

"Look out for that green stuff!" he warns, readying his walking stick of vermin and fey slaying, "It isn't what it seems."

Nbu T'ka waits for someone else to take charge here.

She shoulders her pack once more. "Nothing else that we can do about it right now though, except to keep going."

When the group comes to a sudden halt, Nella peers curiously over the shoulders of the others, staring at the strange patch of fungus. "It seems an awful lot like a patch of fungus, but I'll take your word for it that there's something more to it! If all else fails we could always try poking it," she shrugs, raising her quarterstaff for emphasis. "Good work everyone. Those ugly little creatures didn't stand a chance against us."

As Luthor heads further into the cave with the group his mind wanders a little.

These caves are nothing like my city. I'm not used to how quiet it can get in here.

"The sounds of the caves are so different from background sounds of the city. I keep half expecting to hear a faint shouts of the market vendors off in the distance, or the sound of drunken revelers spilling out of a tavern as the door opens. It's clear from the topic that Luthor is missing home, and the act of talking and hearing even his own voice is more important right now than what is being said.

Partially daydreaming of home, Luthor just about notices the strange slime as Nbu T'ka starts to speak.

"I agree my friend. Almost everything we've met on this expedition has tried to kill us so far!

Lissa shrugs as the last mite falls.

"I've heard stories of things that the darker fey have done." She shudders visibly as she thinks about a couple of the more visceral ones." Just dealing with them before they have a chance to create mayhem is usually the best choice. In any case, let's get going."

The continuing travel in the cave complex is still a little fascinating to Lissa, though nowhere near as interesting as the first section was. When the fungal bloom is reached, Lissa looks over the mess.

"I agree with Nbu T'ka. Something's off with that fungus. Want me to spray it down from here, or should we try using acid and alchemist fire?" she offers.

As the group stares at the patch of fungus, with Lissa, Luthor and Nbu T'ka's insistence, It becomes clear that it is a decently disguised patch of slime. While no one knows anything specifically about this one, the group says a silent thank you to their extensive classes as they at least recognize that this is a thing not to be trifled with. Much like the first time one comes across poison ivy. You never really have the confidence that you can pick it out among regular plants until you actually see it.

While they do not know details, the group knows enough that it looks like an ooze or slime of some type, and should they get to close, it will strike out.

Ok, so it turns out you all go first again for initiative. Some slight information freebies there to grease the wheels so to speak, and also to explain that you passed the opposed perception/stealth. (What good is even doing it if I don't give you the opportunity to react to it, right?) I expect you will have some measure of player knowledge on how to deal with oozes, and I do not expect you to penalize yourself. Think of it the way I described, you had classes that taught you such things, even if you don't know the specific details for this one. Be smart and this won't be a problem for you! The sound of Janira’s voice is not an illusion, and because you can hear it so well, you gain the benefits of her inspire courage ability, +1 to attacks, damage, and saves vs charm and fear.

The hideous carpet of fungus bubbles up, forming a three dimensional pile of slop, rot, and decay. The smell is pungent, and hits everyone's nose like a slap to the face, tickling at their gag reflexes. The slime rolls forward, squeezing at the sides of the narrow cavern. The close walls force the slime taller as it rolls its liquid decay closer to what it hopes is its next meal.

Moving as far forward as it can, desperate to bring more organic matter through the cycle of decay and life, it breaks around the corner in front of Nbu T'ka. The Tengu lashes out with his cane while bolts and arrows pierce into the blubber.

The aroma is still pungent, but suddenly less sharp than before. If this part of the cavern ever sees a bit of a breeze, it may come out altogether eventually.

Lissa wrinkles her nose for a moment at the odor still wafting through this part of tunnels. Then Janira's voice echoes again, and she has to fight the urge to bolt down the tunnel to help.

"Yes, we have to save Janira." Lissa will set Janira's backpack down on a clean patch of floor, and digs for the 3 potions and the tanglefoot bag. "Part of me wants to try to make one of us tough enough to hit and keep the beast occupied while the rest of us use whatever we have to either smack it around, or get Janira into the caves and healed up some. If we use the tanglefoot bag, that may give us the edge to rescue her. Does anyone have a reasonable way to get that axe out of the minotaur's hands?"

The light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, and light illuminates a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy.

Bright moonlight bathes the area outside the cave in a warm, dim light. Young trees, only a few years old dot the green area fed by the stream that trickles out from underneath the mountain and through the field. A rotten log lays across the 10 foot wide stream.

The pathfinders spill out of the cave to the inspiring sounds of Janira, and see the two in alarmingly close proximity, just on the other side of the meandering stream.

”Pathfinders! Thank the gods!” Janira exclaims as they exit the tunnel. ”Now see the true might of the society you foul beast!”

Lissa focuses her mind, pulling power from the very air around her. She leans into her trademark blast, inspired by the words of Janira and her courage. As she readies to let the blast go she has a sinking feeling in her heart that she will miss. Flashes of letting Janira down as well as her struggles against the dummy flit across her conscious thoughts. Then, just before she lets go, Nella calls out the blessings of her goddess. Confidence fills Lissa in that split second before, and her aim is true.

Shuo wastes no time in drawing and firing a shot, hoping to distract the beast while Nbu T’ka rushes forward, infusing his weapon with arcane power. Luthor fills the area with light, and Kajar readies a shot.

The minotaur roars a frustrated roar that reverberates off of the rocks as the ax goes flying from his grasp, again when the blast of water slaps him across the face, and then once more as an arrow pierces it from the intrepid hunter. Janira on the other hand, knows full well the better part of valor. Now that her reinforcements have arrived, she plays her final card, the one thing she has left that has a chance of saving her. She is bruised and battered, blood running from more than one gash on her and she favors her left side as she moves. Still, she fills the woods with her words of encouragement and heaves the tanglefoot bag she saved from her pack, then runs towards her saviors spilling from the cave.

Having hit the beast two times in a row, Shuo feels confidente and continues to shot.

Shortbow, animal aspect (tiger), bless, inspire courage: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 22

Shortbow, inspire courage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Since Shuo acts earlier than Nbu in the initiative order, I assumed that he could shot the minotaur before Nbu charged. If not, he gets -4 on his attack for shotting into melee.

Male Human (Michigander) GM/1 Tactical - Where on Golarion - CLW Charges: 0

Holey Moley!

Lissa blasts the minotaur, snapping it out of its rage. For the first time all day, his roar is not one of murderous rage, but of panic. His massive axe glows red hot. He quickly drops his already broken weapon and starts to look for an escape.

Any thoughts of running away are quickly beaten from his simple mind as Nbu T'ka rushes forward. An arrow zings over the Tengu's shoulder to embed itself once again. The magically enhanced tetsubo crushes the minotaur's skull and the mighty beast crashes to his knees, then falls to his face, motionless.

combat over! Well done everyone! I won't be able to get a proper post up until tonight. Janira will be effusive in her gratitude. There is one tunnel you didn't go down, but that is entirely optional at this point.
