In addition, she'll recover Fading Strike and Dimensional Strike.

Anevia vanishes from her hidey-hole tree, though perhaps vanishes isn't really the right word. Given that no one seemed to be looking at her, it was a little self-centered to believe there was anything to vanish.

When she reappears, her short sword is in her hand, arcing out towards the demon-lover she'd already shot once, as her attack feels like it's going wide, Anevia forgoes trying to force the attack on the cultist's leg, leaving her a bit limp-wristed, as she tumbles past both cultists to come to a halt flanking the other, getting too close for comfort and possibly throwing them off balance.

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

Anevia's sudden appearance startles the two cultists, throwing them offguard and making them vulnerable to further attack...

Xanderghul runs around the village, his eyes fixed on the aasimar woman flying high above. He knew a priority target when he saw one, that's for sure. As he runs, he tries to line himself up with the path of her flight so that he can target her with lower-range spells... And he pulls out one of his new scrolls of ray of exhaustion.

Xanderghul: So the aasimar cultist is headed towards the southern set of barricades so that she and the rest of the army can go around your wall of nausea. Predictably, as a spellcaster, she's staying 50' from the barricades to give herself lots of room between you guys and herself. The only way to get her in range for close-range spells would be to go past the barricades. Do you want to do this?

Book keeping: Anevia succeeds on acrobatic gambit vs Murder Acolytes #1 and #4.

Battlefield Description:

The battle takes place at Silvershore, a small lakeside kellid village. Its parameters are protected by a set of crude barricades built of sharp poles, branches, and up-turned boats. The defenders of Silvershore, a group of 50 kellid hunters, stand in the streets, bows drawn. They stand 30' behind of Isilme, 50' from the barricades.

There is an elaborate illusion within the village created by Xanderghul. It consists of victorious tiefling and elven cultists and many dead kellid bodies.

Valaria stands 20' from the barricades.

Ehren is 20' away from Valaria but also 20' away from the barricades. He can target anyone in the army as long as the spell has a range of at least 60'.

Xanderghul is 20' away from the barricades. He has moved 30' closer to the southern barricades. He can target anyone in the army as long as the spell has a range of at least 60'.

Isilme is standing 10' away from the barricades, next to where Mangvhune was when he got shot by Anevia.

At the barricades, two cultists so far have ran past both the wall of nausea and entangle trap - they flank Hinagiku, who is adjacent to Ehren's summoned small earth elemental and across from Anevia.

The army takes up 40'x40'. The army is 10' on the opposite side from the barricades. There are 50 total, and half are entangled in a spell, and a little less than a third are dead. They are also blocked off by a 70 ft long wall of nausea, which grants them 20% concealment. The army is completely composed of tieflings, except for one person who stands out - a beautiful winged aasimar woman clad in green robes, accompanied by two cultists. She has flown away from the entangle, and is circling around towards the southwestern barricades - she is still 50' back from them, however. In the back of the army is a row of tiefling skalds with war drums.

Their captain has apparently vanished.

Xanderghul moves down to alongside the barricades, feeling confident in his invisibility. Obviously, it would be foolish for him to cross the barricades where his own wall of nausea is, so he stays on this side for now. Xanderghul is 50' from the aasimar woman.

While the cultist is distracted by Anevia, Valaria rushes in and drives her blade in between his ribs. He coughs up a bit a blood while his companion tries her best to cut down Hinagiku, but the monk is simply too fast for her.

Meanwhile, the aasimar woman starts to cast a spell. Onsig and Osfirth were waiting for this and react immediately - though Osfirth's shot falls short, Onsig's shot lands square in her shoulder. WRONG ALIAS

The appearance of the wind wall was a problem for sure. First it negated the ability of the kellids to attack with impunity. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, it meant the aasimar was likely capable of greater feats of magic. Unlike the tieflings, the kellids had little protection if she decided to begin hurling fireballs their way. The immediate concern then was to put pressure on the aasimar to keep her from casting, and to move the kellids both away from her, and into a position where they could continue to harass the cultist forces.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

"Anevia, do you think you can hit the aasimar through the wind wall?" she asks via message. She had seen Anevia's skill at firing through the winds in the battle at the Ahari Bridge, and hoped it would come in useful here. Especially if the aasimar was expecting to remain protected from such assaults.

Planning orders for the Kellids. Want to verify before I issue them. If they move around towards the south east, is there room for them to head around and flank the enemy? Preferably putting about 80' between them and the edge of the entangle the enemy army is trapped within.

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

Sure, it'd take at least 3 rounds for them to position in that way (the barricades were designed to make it impossible to run through them to get into Silvershore) before they could actually attack.

WRONG ALIAS

Deciding the best course of action is to attempt to flank the cultists, she calls out to the Kellids. "Amddiffynwyr lan'Arian! Peidiwch â gwastraffu eich saethau, y nefol-perthynas agosaf wedi rhoi i fyny wal gwynt er mwyn eu darian o'n ymosodiadau. Gwasgarwch a mynd o gwmpas i'r de-ddwyrain o'r dref, y tu hwnt i'r mur amddiffynnol. Cyrraedd eu ystlys a gallwn glaw saethau arnynt eto!"

Hallit:
"Defenders of Silvershore! Do not waste your arrows, the aasimar has put up a wind wall to shield them from our attacks. Stay spread out and head around to the southeast of the town, beyond the barricades. Get to their flank and we can rain arrows upon them again!"

In case one of the cultists or the aasimar speak Hallit, I would like to point out that the wind wall gives the cultists and aasimar a -8 penalty on perception checks involving sound from things on this side of the wall, as the wall involves windstorm force winds.

Xanderghul sighs, wishing he could dismiss his wall spell. It hadn't turned out to be very useful, but at least it and the wind wall spell necessitated that the two armies engage each other in melee. That guarantee made planning for battle much easier.

He expects the aasimar woman to get closer, so he just stays where he is... But he casts mirror image on himself first, conjuring a bunch of (invisible) duplicates.

Valaria's swift slash rends through the closer of the two cultists with a fleshy wet sound. The rogue grasps the wound and shifts into a battle stance, spinning his daggers about expertly. The pair glance at each other and grin wickedly - a two on one fight? They feel confident with those odds.

The aasimar frowns, pulling arrows out of her body with obvious distaste - she hadn't expected anyone to be able to fire through her wind wall. Her eyes dart from Anevia's place in the barricades to the kellids dispersing through the town, headed southeast. She flies a bit higher to get a good vantage point over the small buildings, staying parallel to the barricades. She picks a spot with a good scattering of kellids, points, and fires off a glowing, pea-sized bead. It hurtles through the air until it hits the ground, exploding into a fiery inferno, catching one of their homes aflame. Some of the hunters see it coming and manage to avoid most of the blast, but many are caught in the blaze and perish.

"NAAAAAA! MERERID! Bod wrach ffycin! 'N annhymerus' rwygo hi ar wahân!" cries Onsig, his despair quickly shifting into fury. He breaks rank, running recklessly straight southwest, his feet light as air thanks to Isilme's spell, caring for nothing but getting past the sorceress' conjured winds so that he can drive several arrows into her throat. He reaches the barricades in moments, slowing down so that he can maneuver the mess of poles and nets without falling.

Hallit:
"NOOOOOO! MERERID! That f&%@ing witch! I'll tear her apart!"

"Na! Onsig! Mae dim! Byddant yn eich lladd os byddwch yn mynd ei ben ei hun!" cries Osfirth, running after him. The pair reach the barricades close to Xanderghul, though they of course do not know that - the wizard is completely invisible.

Hallit:
"No! Onsig! Stop! They'll kill you if you go alone!"

Battlefield Description:

The battle takes place at Silvershore, a small lakeside kellid village. Its parameters are protected by a set of crude barricades built of sharp poles, branches, and up-turned boats.

The defenders of Silvershore, composed of 43 kellid hunters, have dispersed into town and are headed towards the southeastern barricades in an effort to flank the army past the wind wall.

There is an elaborate illusion within the village created by Xanderghul. It consists of victorious tiefling and elven cultists and many dead kellid bodies.

Ehren is 20' away from the barricades. He can target anyone in the army as long as the spell has a range of at least 60'.

Isilme is standing 10' away from the barricades, next to where Mangvhune was when he got shot by Anevia.

Hinagiku, Ehren's summon earth elemental, and Anevia stand at the northwestern barricades. They stand next to a dead cultist and a KO'd cultist.

In addition, there are two cultists who have made it past the barricades, and are skulking around somewhere in the southwestern part of town. They are engaged with Valaria.

Xanderghul is moving along his own wall of nausea, headed towards the aasimar woman at the southwestern barricades. He is 50' from her. Close to him are Osfirth and Onsig, the latter of the two is enraged at the aasimar sorceress.

The army takes up 40'x40'. The army is 10' on the opposite side from the barricades. There are 50 total, and half are entangled in a spell, and a little less than a third are dead. They are shielded by a 100 ft long Wind Wall that is also 50 ft high. They are also blocked off by a 70 ft long wall of nausea, which grants them 20% concealment. The army is completely composed of tieflings, except for one person who stands out - a beautiful winged aasimar woman clad in green robes. She has flown away from the entangle, and is circling around towards the southwestern barricades - she is still 50' back from them, however. In the back of the army is a row of tiefling skalds with war drums.

Their captain has apparently vanished.

Hinagiku, if you wish to run with the army you must decide - with haste you run much faster than the kellids and can move ahead of them, or you can slow down to keep pace, it is your decision.

"Okay. Mr. Ehren, will you direct your powerful friend to follow me?" Hinagiku answers, her voice betraying a subtle hint of eagerness; it had been a long time since she felt her thoughts and actions were in such sync with other people.

Her spirits lifted by the knowledge that her actions were complementing those of Valaria, Hinagiku launches in a graceful run in order to reach the southeastern barricade where the kellids are heading. On her way, she reaches within the folds of her tunic and draws a wand of healing, preparing herself to face the incoming army.

However, as she does, she see the fiery ball cast by the sorceress, for a moment, she is almost torned between joining Onsig and Osfirth or the rest of their force. However, it becoemes clear that if any of those two fall, the remaining kellids will lose their leaders and will to fight, so she runs toward them, hoping she can stop any cultist who might try to strike them.

Smoke rises from Silvershore as Hinagiku draws her wand, and after a moment of hesitation, quickly catches up with Onsig and Osfirth at the southwestern barricades. Onsig doesn't seem to even notice her presence, his eyes fixed solely on the aasimar woman, though Osfirth offers her a friendly smile through his thick beard.

Meanwhile, deeper in the village, Valaria squares off against two cultists.

"Well aren't you a pretty one, my dear," says the female of the pair - a tiefling like Valaria, her skin is a brilliant crimson red, and she sports small horns.

"I wonder if her blood is the same color as her lovely flesh?" remarks the other, an tall, thin, abnormally emaciated man, with a single stubby horn protruding from his forehead.

"I guess we'll just have to find out," says the woman, smirking.

As they jeer, the two rogues split up, taking a few steps so that they oppose Valaria on either side. Once they are in position, they read the tiefling's movements and try to catch her off-guard, but the woman is supernaturally fast - she dodges each and every one of their strikes - until the male manages a lucky hit into her flank, leaving her slightly injured after the exchange.

"Hm. I guess she bleeds the same way everyone else does," scoffs the thin man.

While they fight, the kellids continue moving through the town, scattering further in alarm at the flying sorceress' power. They manage to make it to the southeastern barricades and start slowly filing through them. But all is well for them, as their wounded enemies are still stuck in the entangle - though they are slowly but surely reaching the perimeter of Isilme's magical trap.

Ayavah, who was standing with the kellids when they were firing on the army, hesitates as she watches them run to the opposite side of the village. She looks around, noticing that Valaria is busy with two cultists - she doesn't want to get involved with that, that seemed like a good way to get stabbed - so she walks over to Isilme instead, tapping her on the shoulder, her breath puffing white in the cold air.

"Ummmm I don't speak Kellid so, what's going on? Should I just go hide in a building?" She glances at the one that is on fire, then winces as her eyes trail over the charred corpses nearby. "Okay, on second thought, maybe that's a bad idea also." She mumbles a few words, invoking some magic to make herself more resistant against flame. She wasn't going to die like that. Not today.

Remember that with grease and their wounds they cannot take 5' steps (20' mv for one 5' square), which means they provoke AoO's trying to flank Val. Furthermore they're flatfooted against her attacks due to needing to do acrobatics. Additionally, no full attacks, as they need to spend at least a move action.

Ehren grits his teeth when the fireball hits, wiping out a sizable portion of the Kellid hunters. It was naive for him to think that they could get through the battle without any casualties, but he had hoped nonetheless. Hearing Hinagiku and catching onto her intent, he calls out to his elemental.

"Lean di. Iad a chosaint ar aon chostas!"

Druidic:
"Follow her. Protect them at any cost!"

Trusting them to deal with the aasimar for the time being, Ehren moves through the village, heading in the direction that Valaria went. Seeing that she is caught in a flank, he extends a finger and fires a dart of acid at one of them.

WRONG ALIAS

Isilme winces as the fireball strikes the Kellids. Thankfully her instincts had kept the losses from being larger, but that would be little comfort if the sorceress continued to rain fire down upon the kellids. For the moment, however her primary concern was calming down Onsig. Losing him would be a serious blow to the Defenders' morale, and it was likely he would die if he charged the sorceress recklessly.

"Onsig, bydd cymryd dial ar y nefol-perthynas agosaf gwneud dim da os byddwch yn marw! Mae hi am i chi rhuthro hi! Mae angen i chi y pentref, eich ffrindiau sydd angen i chi, ni angen eich cymorth i drechu cultists hyn! Os gwelwch yn dda, ymddiriedolaeth i mi!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (20) + 22 = 42

Hallit:
"Onsig, taking vengeance upon the celestial-kin will do no good if you die! She wants you to rush her! The village needs you, your friends need you, we need your aid to defeat these cultists! Please, trust me!"

Isilme looks at Ayavah sympathetically. She might be a caster, and might have had devils aiding her back in Nerosyan, but she had clearly never dealt with situations like these before. It was probably a lot for her to take in, but they could not afford to have anyone sitting out. "You should stay by me, I will do my best to protect you. Can you cast anything that can harm that sorceress? We need all the help we can get to finish her off before she does any more damage. If not, I have a wand that you should be able to make use of."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (6) + 22 = 28

I'm assuming Diplomacy to calm down Onsig is Std Act. If so, then Isilme will dig out and offer her wand of magic missile to Ayavah unless she indicates she has spells she can use instead.

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

The little earth elemental glances back at Ehren and nods, then lumbers after Hinagiku at an abnormally fast pace.

The two cultists begin to tire as they try in vain to stab Valaria. Ehren's sudden appearance distracts them enough that Valaria swings wide, driving her blades into each of them with a satisfying thwack!. Ehren then blasts the thin man in the back with a projectile made of acid - it sears into his flesh with a horrible, chemical smell.

Onsig hears Isilme's voice and falters. Osfirth grasps his shoulder.

"Mae'r coblyn yn siarad wir, gyfaill. Ni fyddai'n anrhydeddu cof eich chwaer i farw mor ffôl. Ymladd yn dda ac yn byw i yfed at ei enw ar gyfer nifer o nosweithiau i ddod."

Hallit:
"The elf speaks true, friend. It would not honor your sister's memory to die so foolishly. Fight well and live to drink to her name for many nights to come."

Onsig shudders, his clenched fists trembling with rage. "Mererid..."

A few moments later, Ayavah stares at Isilme's wand and shakes her head. "You mean like... magic missile? I can do that." She nods, and continues on, more to herself than to Isilme, "Yeah. That's a thing I can do. I can do that."

Audit: Valaria took no damage last round since they could not have made FRAs due to the grease.

Book keeping: Valaria consumes two AoOs and deals 20 damage to each cultist. Murder Acolyte #2 is in critical condition, #3 is grazed. Ehren hits #2 with acid dart for an additional 9 damage. Isilme ends her performance, so lingering performance is in effect.

Val ducks and weaves around the cultists' slashing blades. "You're going to have to be much better than that if you want to see what color my blood is." She flicks her blades clean with a twitch of her wrist. "That is, if you live long enough to give it another try."

Valaria dismantles her opponents' defenses with relentless and methodical persistence, creating an opening through which she finishes them off for good.

The aasimar stares at the many copies of Xanderghul, recognizing the opposing caster to be the real threat here. She smiles. Even her teeth are perfect.

"Ah. So here's the master illusionist. I'm Saria. You should know the name of the woman who is going to kill you."

She raises a hand towards him and begins reciting arcane words - Anevia reacts instantly, fading in and out of sight momentarily before releasing a shot against her. The circumstances around her demand a precision-based shot, and she delivers, the arrow finding its way into her torso... but this time the sorceress was prepared to be fired against - she maintains focus and fires off five violet missiles at Xanderghul. The magic is not fooled by his illusion and home in on the true wizard, and he finds himself pummeled again and again by her blasts.

Osfirth glances to the west - the cultist army is a mere thirty feet away, though they are still mostly wrapped up in the writhing vines.

"Friends!" he calls at Xanderghul and Hinagiku in his thick accent. "Run back! Many danger there!" He draws an arrow but holds back from firing for now - there is no use with the roaring wall of wind between themselves and the winged witch.

Battlefield Description:

The battle takes place at Silvershore, a small lakeside kellid village. Its parameters are protected by a set of crude barricades built of sharp poles, branches, and up-turned boats. One of the buildings is on fire.

The defenders of Silvershore, composed of 43 kellid hunters, have dispersed into town and are headed towards the southeastern barricades in an effort to flank the army past the wind wall.

Isilme is standing 10' away from the barricades, next to where Mangvhune was when he got shot by Anevia.

Anevias stand at the northwestern barricades. She stands next to a dead cultist and a KO'd cultist.

Valaria and Ehren stand in the southwestern part of town. Valaria is next to a puddle of grease, one dead cultist, and one dying one.

At the southwestern barricades are Osfirth, Ehren's summoned earth elemental, and Onsig, the latter of the three is enraged at the aasimar sorceress.

Xanderghul and 4 illusory copies of himself stand 10' feet on the opposite side of the southwestern barricades.

In the back of the army is a row of tiefling skalds with war drums.

The army is completely composed of tieflings, except for one person who stands out - a beautiful winged aasimar woman clad in green robes, flying 20' up in the sky. She has flown away from the entangle, and is circling around towards the southwestern barricades - she is still 50' back from them, however. Hinagiku stands beneath her.

Their captain has apparently vanished.

Though she bangs on knee upon landing, Hinagiku is still able to roll on the snow, and using the momentum, stand back up. All the while, and spurred by Osfirth, Hinagiku's eyes calculatingly go from the army to the flying sorceress.

"Mr. Xanderghul, do you still need me?" she whispers, hoping the wizard can deal with the sorceress on his own... but having some doubts.

With Xanderghul having no need for her, yet probably overconfident, Hinagiku makes her way toward Onsig and Osfirth.
"Okay. Mr. Xanderghul, please find cover from her." she whispers halfway to the Kellid leaders.

"Everyone, we should rejoin your warriors, I will fight better surrounded by others.... let me guard your back." she says when she catches with them, just before continuing a few more feet (10) toward the army. If the troops decided to come for the leaders, she would stand firm. There, she stares toward the army, yet listens intently to what is going on behind her, hoping to notice whether the two kellids do rejoin their men or are stubborn enough to stand by her side.

Hinagiku heads to stand near Xanderghul, ten feet in front of the southeastern barricades. Meanwhile, the army slowly breaks free of the entangle, roughly half of the army staggering out of the range of Isilme's spell.

Further away, Ayavah concentrates and fires off four magic missiles in quick succession. They smash into the winged sorceress, forcing her to struggle to stay aloft.

Ehren weighs his options, knowing that even after they prevailed over this army, at least one more was still on the way. Even so, he could hardly afford to be stingy with his magic, given their circumstances - he would just have to plan things out better in the future. For the time being, the druid focuses on summoning something that could reach the aasimar.

Isilme is up!

WRONG ALIAS

"Very nice, Ayavah," Isilme says, giving the tiefling encouragement. "Follow me and keep harassing her like that and we should pull through this alright." Isilme takes off towards where the Kellids are filing out of the barricades, moving slow enough that Ayavah can keep up and fire off more missiles at the aasimar.

As Isilme closes on the barricade she raises the wand of entangle, preparing to use it again. She calls out to the Kellids: "Cadwch eich bwâu allan, arhoswch gwasgaru, a thân ar bydd yn y cultists sy'n eich cyhuddo. Byddaf yn eu hatal rhag cyrraedd i chi, mae gennych fy gair!"

"Keep your bows out, stay spread out, and fire at will at the cultists who are charging you. I will prevent them from reaching you, you have my word!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29

Keeping a close eye on the cultists, she waits patiently, letting them begin to escape the previous entangle before trapping them anew within another mass of vines and overgrowth.

Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30

Mv Act: 30' move; Std Act: Ready an action to UMD the wand. Isilme will use the wand when the cultists are 10' outside of the entangle, centering it 40' from the kellids, such that the cultists have 50' of entangle left between them and the Kellid forces.

Xanderghul scratches himself idly - all this magic going on was making him itchy, and he frowns exasperatedly as he tries to itch that one spot he can never get. He turns to the Kellids, almost idly (though keeping his voice down just enough that the flying lady forty feet away from him in the middle of a pitched battle with the roaring winds of her own weather-based spell right next to her doesn't hear) - "Rwy'n ar fin i greu rhith, AO-gwerin. Bydd yn caniatáu'r budd rhai clawr ni, ond rhaid i chi credu i mi pan fyddaf yn dweud wrthych nad yw'n real. Gallwn cuddio yn y niwl heb gael eu gweld tan rhywun yn mynd yn rhy agos."

Hallit:
"I'm about to create an illusion, Os-folk. It'll grant us the benefit of some cover, but you must believe me when I tell you it isn't real. We can hide in the fog without being seen until somebody gets too close."

Then he turns back to the flying aasimar lady, winks at her, and then casts a spell... Lightning flashes from his hands, and fog billows out of his wide mouth and open palms. The fog washes out over a wide area, swallowing Onsig, Osfirth, Xanderghul himself, and washing around Hinagiku. It doesn't even come close to touching her, forming completely straight walls where it comes near... as if she exudes some aura of "don't touch me". The fog spreads out as far as the spell allows, spreading back around the two walls to allow an escape route.

I'm gonna cast silent image! Make clouds that coat Onsig, Osfirth and Myself (so as to have total concealment, you know) and spread out over a wide area... but not Hinagiku.

After the fog covers everyone, Xanderghul moves to shift to one side... he nonverbally cues Osfirth and Onsig to follow him deeper away from the wall spells, away to flank enemies.
