Before you decide to sell that gutbite belt: Note that it grants a +2 enhancement bonus to Constitution, as per a belt of mighty constitution... it also will bite your opponent if you're grappled, making it somewhat useful as a defense in that case.
A certain member of the party with a Constitution penalty might want to consider keeping it...

Kyrian Linwood |

Where do you get 4 people only in this? Also, that total is wrong. It's 2658.8.

![]() |

Gwyn said she did not want any gold.
The total should be 2,696 / 4= 674.
I was mis-remembering the old conversion rate of 1pp=5gp instead of 10.

Kyrian Linwood |

Are we ignoring silver pieces then?

Kyrian Linwood |

I'll also be selling a shortbow and a composite shortbow, STR +1. If that helps speed things up. I'll still have the chance to RP this next week or two as I'm moving here in a few days, but backend stuff may be a little slow as there's only so much I can do from my phone.

Helena the Pale |

Sorry for my silence. Been bummed as heck, had to deal with a lot of stupid people on the internet and had to take a step back, had a minor medical scare (thought my appendix was going to burst [it didn't]), and now a trauma with a close acquaintance.
I'm trying to be around. On a lighter note, I got back into Skyrim (which might not be helping, TBH), and I've lost 8kg in a month due to a diet, so... kinda yay?

Kyrian Linwood |

Oh my Lord, I'm sorry to hear that. That is never a thing you want to hear. Our condolences to her and your guy's families.

Helena the Pale |

Still scattered, can't focus on pure RP right now. I should be good when we head out.

Kyrian Linwood |

So how is everyone? I hope everything is going well for your friends Helena, and I hope all is well for you Haladir

Kyrian Linwood |

Buttermilk? Hmm... I may try that one day... lol

GM Haladir |

Hi, folks.
I am still alive, if anyone was wondering.
As you can tell from my lack of posts in over a month, I am still having great difgiculty carving out time to GM at this time. I think it is time to be realistic and say that I don't really see this changing any time in the foreseeable future.
I think is it time to say that I really can't continue running this game in good conscience.
I want to thank you all for playing. I have had tons of fun with you all, and have really enjoyed this game immensely. You folks have been great!
If there comes a time when I have the time and resources to return, I'll contact you to see if you would be interested in picking this game back up where we left off.
Thanks again for being a part of this game, and best of luck to everyone!
BTW, barring a repeat of last year's travel hell, I will be at Paizocon this year. If any of you will be there, I hope we can meet up!
Thanks again for so many hours of fun and excitement!

Helena the Pale |

I'm sorry to hear that the game's fizzled, but I understand there's been a lot on your plate lately. I hope things settle down for you soon, mate! It's been a pleasure :) Please let me know if ever you pick this up again - hopefully, I'll be more focused, as well.

![]() |

Thank you for running this, it has been a lot of fun! I hope things get easier for you, and I would be eager to play should you feel like continuing.

GM Haladir |

Hey, folks.
My enthusiasm for gaming in general and Pathfinder in particular has really been rekindled by attending PaizoCon.
I think that my life as calmed down sufficiently to give this campaign another good ol' college try.
Are people up for dusting off their characters and giving this one another go?

Helena the Pale |

I'd be down! My life's a bit wonky at the moment while I house hunt, but this was fun, and I'd be keen to pick it up again :)

Kyrian Linwood |

Life is still chaotic for me right now. I've practically been regulated to my phone for almost everything at this point. I'll do my best to keep up, but I can't promise anything. Not going to lie though, I'm finding myself in a tough spot with Kyrian on a build and roleplay note. Not that I don't want to play him, just more along the lines that so much time in and out with him kinda has me lost with him right now.

GM Haladir |

I am hoping to finally get this off the ground this weekend.
On a completely unrelated note...
As I may have mentioned previously, outside of the Paizo boards, I am primarily playing the RPG Dungeon World to scratch the fantasy gaming itch. It's a rules-light system than emphasizes the storyline and fast-paced action, without ever getting bogged down in complex rules. I have really been singing the praises of this game system for years now.
Right now, Bundle of Holding is offering a Dungeon World bundle, which gets you PDFs of the DW rulebook, plus several supplements, all for $6 (basic), or with an additional eight supplements for $15.
https://bundleofholding.com/presents/DungeonWorld3/
I can't praise Dungeon World enough. My Thursday night fantasy game these days is a DW campaign I'm running that we're calling "DungeonFinder": a sandbox game set in Varisia, with the PCs being DW-conversions of Ezren, Merisiel, Kyra, and Amiri. We've been having a ball!
If you've got $6 to spare, I really would encourage you to check out Dungeon World!
Thanks for letting me plug this, and now we return to our regularly-scheduled Discussion thread.

Gwynethiel |

I already have Dungeon World, Planet Dungeon, and Class Warfare, and the two PbtA games I've played in were fun. It really is a nice system and it's pretty easy to roll your own classes from the looks of it.
That said, I've been thinking about getting into a couple of hobbies that are, well, the cost fo entry's a little steep, so, sadly, I'm not going to be grabbing this one.

Gwynethiel |

Just a heads up, I've got a lot on my plate at work this week, so I'm going to be a bit spotty this week with posting. Hopefully, I'll get on top of things and I won't have to put in 10-11 hour days next week.

GM Haladir |

In case anyone is interested...
I just posted a Recruitment thread for an experimental sandbox campaign, set in the city of Kaer Maga, using the Dungeon World game system.
[DUNGEON WORLD] City of Strangers - A Sandbox Campaign
Dot or post if you might be interested!

Orik_Vancaskerkin |

It's been about a half year since we had this discussion, but I think we came to the agreement that I'd be using the gutbite belt. I don't think I really need anything else in town for now, so I might try to see if I can find some trouble for Orik to get into. As a Vancaskerkin, that shouldn't be too hard.

Helena the Pale |

Sorry for the absence, folks; turns out I'm moving house. It all happened pretty immediately. Boyfriend was given two months' notice because the landlord is demolishing the house, and we signed a rental lease last night. Things will be spotty for a few days.
The fact that I didn't realize the gameplay post was up didn't help >.>

Haladir |

Best of luck with the move!
Sorry for my own absence: I had a "drop everything and do this" project dropped into my lap late last week, which means that I haven't been taking a lunch break during the workday. At home, an old friend who now lives in the UK has been staying with us for a few days, and I thought it would be rude to be typing away on my laptop instead of socializing.
Our guest left yesterday, but I have a board of directors' meeting tonight, my weekly Fate game is tomorrow night, and my daughter's birthday celebration is Friday night... It'll probably be Saturday before I can get this show on the road for real.

GM Haladir |

Hey, folks.
I'm not sure how much posting I'm going to get in this week.
I had jury duty today, and while I didn't get picked, they went through 54 potential jurors and have only called 9 so far. I have to go back tomorrow for a fourth round of jury selection, and I have a weird feeling that I am going to get picked for this one.
It's a criminal case that will be emotionally jarring. I can't say anything beyond that.
I'll let you know how things pan out.

Kyrian Linwood |

No worries Haladir. Hopefully it's something you can overcome through. Never had to deal with jury duty (don't think I will either due to veteran status), but I've been told that it can get hectic if it's a case like what you're referring to. In the mean time, I'm gonna try and get back up an going with Kyrian the best I can so that try and keep on to what I originally imagined him as.

Helena the Pale |

Keep us updated when you can, buddy. Hope the case isn't too hard you emotionally or mentally. For my part, I should get a post in over breakfast or after work.

Haladir |

I was not picked to be on the jury, so that will not be a hindrance to my posting rate.
(To non-US residents: In American jurispridence, voir dire is the process of jury selection, where potential jurors are questioned about their biases in the case at hand... such as having heard about the case in the news; knowing the defendant, counsel, or a witness personally; having been the victim of a similar crime; believing that if a person was arrested, they must be guilty; etc. Potential jurors who express such biases are dismissed from serving.)
One factor that made this jury hard to fill was that the incident had received a fair amout of coverage in the local media when it happened, and many of the potential jurors were familar with the media reporting. I had not heard of this incident before, which is why I thought that I would probably be picked for the jury.
This morning, they continued voir dire and called abother 18 names to fill the remaining seats (12 jurors and 2 alternates). I was not called to the fourth panel, and all remaining potential jurors were dismissed (including me).
The defendant was charged with rape in the first degree.
The incident occured at a local bar, approximately three years ago.
The defendant and the accuser met each other at the bar on the night of the incident. They had been drinking and dancing together for a couple of hours. They both went into a single-occupancy restroom to snort some cocaine, and had sex in the restroom. The defendant says the sex was consensual; the accuser says it was rape. There were no other witnesses to the act itself.
Another factor that has to be addressed is race: The defendant is African-American; the accuser is white. As we all know, there is a long history in the US of extreme bias against black men having sex with white women, and how a black man accused of raping a white woman can be at at grave disadvantage in court. (c.f. the plot of the classic American novel, To Kill a Mockingbird.)
At the same time, women have traditionally been at a disadvantage when making accusations of rape, especially when they had been drinking and/or had willingly gone off alone with the accused.
It sounds like the whole case is going to boil down to a "he said/she said" situation, with race, the "Me Too" movement, and the chemical impairment of judgement on both parties all muddying the waters.
All-in-all, I am very happy not to have to sit in judgement of this one.

Orik_Vancaskerkin |

Eek. Yeah, I'm glad I don't have to sit on that. Just based on your read of the situation, I'd say that he is guilty of some degree of sexual assault - both of them were chemically impaired, and therefore not able to give consent for any activity. I'm not sure I'd go first degree, but I'm not the prosecution either. They probably put 1st degree on the table to see if he'd plea out.

Helena the Pale |

I don't blame you for being relieved. Sounds like a tough case.
I'm just having trouble getting my head back in this game. I'll likely drop in in the next scene. Sorry.

Haladir |

Kyrian Linwood |

I would've gone with assault instead of 1st degree. Circumstances make 1st degree hard to really get anywhere. Anyways, hopefully something can be done out of all of that. Glad to know that you don't have to have too much forced onto your moral plates.
