The laughing crow is a 50 foot long junk, without any crew! After looking about for a bit some of you understand what needs to be done and are capable of sailing her.
Please place yourself on deck. In combat situations I will ask for driving checks, which are either profession sailor, knowledge nature or wisdom checks. I recommend to put the one with the highest modifier in charge: that is in within of the red square
Also: maybe you have questions for Amara Li, assume that Jinhong met you there. And thanks for introducing the players Timmon! Feel free to give a short recap of your first mission, without spoiling to much of course

![]() |

A lithe young woman in bright clothing and a jaunty hat waits in the bow of the junk. She watches the party approach with a wary eye, then moves to meet you at the gangplank.
Good day, Pathfinders, she says in a low voice. It is my pleasure to meet you. I am Jinhong Yeou, known to my friends as Jinny and my enemies as The Crimson Fox. I am fresh off a stint with the infamous Black Star Brotherhood in Bloodcove and the Azlant Ridge, and assigned to assist you in your mission.
She looks to each in turn.
Timmon Gall. Heveel Ash'maïm. Pillango. Belina Bojan. Illirio Mellek. She bows to each in turn, as is the local custom. Your reputations precede you.
I have been briefed on the basics, but I am sure there is more to the story.

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Timmon returns the bow a trifle lower with hands pressed together in front of his chest. I have a reputation?
"Jinhong Yeou, I am honored to be in your presence. I hope I never need call you fox."
"Our story is simple. We retrieved the Braid of a Hundred Masters from a deserted mountain monastery by defeating two snow demons. Heveel kept us alive with a curing wand. Illirio is not only a mage, but an expert marksman; as is Belina. Pilangro, Pilangro is a master of her blade. I am but a serving novice. Merely ask if I can do anything for you."
Timmon has a +3 Wisdom modifier for conning the boat. Heveel's likely to be the best.

![]() |

"Yes... my eagles were all... gone. What are we but smoke in this world, I ask you?" says the Sylph exhaling a consequent cloud of pink smoke.
"But I like where this mission is going. Smoking... incense. And a Cloud... master. This mission seems well suited for us. As long as there is no aquatic yeti, of course." a sudden shadow passes on the man's face.
Thanks for the intro, Timmon :)
Heveel only has +3 wisdom for now, though.

![]() |

"As long as there are no Yeti." Timmon intones.
Then he continues to Jinhong. "I know little of the world outside Goka. Tell me about Blood Cove and the Azlant Ridge."
Know(nature) is an option for driving the boat. And profession(sailor).

![]() |

Of Bloodcove I can not say much. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany. We were sworn to secrecy on certain aspects of our mission, but we disguised ourselves as a mercenary company to procure supplies for an archeological dig at Atlant Ridge. There we were attacked by an army of ape-men and their four-armed giant ape leader. We would not have prevailed if I had not inadvertently activated a mighty golem that defeated it.
It was a baptism in fire I shall not soon forget.
Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
She's not telling the whole truth. She's embarrassed by some aspect of the Bloodcove mission.
And you? Did you really encounter a giant snow creature?

![]() |

Sense Mot: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Timmon nods. "I see. So is there no chance that your mission there will be chronicled? It would be a waste if a story of bravery in true service was never heard."

Caro Cogitatus |

Jinny turns to Timmon.
Not quite sure how the rules go but I'll answer as best I can.
"The Chronicles of both are filed, of course. I'm told I even controlled the golden briefly, although I don't remember anything from those moments. It was quite a show."
Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
She's trying subtly to change the subject away from Bloodcove.
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
"Maybe the story will be told someday then. I hope so."
"To answer your question. We faced two snow demons. You will have to ask the others for details. I spent most of the fight in bleeding agony."

![]() |

Jinny chuckles quietly.
"I've done my share of that. It's a dangerous business we're in, isn't it?"
She touches his arm lightly.
"But with good, strong friends to watch your back, it's just the best way to live."

![]() |

Oh, indeed. So Heveel will use knowledge nature with a +7 :)

![]() |

Timmon reflexively jerks his arm away from the touch and his whole body rocks back a palm's width. He glances down where her fingertips brushed him. His other hand closes over the spot. His eyes swing back up to hers and his lips twitch awkwardly up at the corners.
"Good, strong, friends. These ~shifts his whole body and raises his other hand slightly to indicate the rest of the party~ are worthy."

![]() |

Jinny looks shocked and hurt momentarily at Timmon's reaction, but recovers quickly.
Of course, of course. I meant no disrespect to anyone.
Nice going, Jinny. You've managed to repulse one of your new friends in the first 5 minutes. Why does my touch bother him so?

![]() |

I'm ready to move on, btw :)
Heveel lays on the deck, happy to smoke an endless cig and exhale lots of smoke. He's trying to make a boat out of smoke but doesn't manage to do it for now.

After several days of making their way down the river, you reach a stretch of river known as the Kogendu Basin. The river slows as it leaves the sandy highlands and winds its way between the rolling hills of this dry, grassy basin. The breeze that blows from the north is dusty and warm, and a thicket of short gnarled trees lines the shore. Belina is savoring an apple while staring over the waters. The others hear hoofbeats approaching and moments later riders appear over the crest of a nearby hill! They are brandishing bows and the first arrow comes hurtling towards Heveel...

Heveel sees a rock pointing out of the water and can just wrest the ship around it. The ship is jostled violently as it narrowly misses
the obstacle. Jinhong and Timmon are jostled against the railing while Belina smashes hard into the staircase to the upper deck.
All creatures aboard slide 10 feet toward port or toward starboard (50% chance for either). This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. If this causes the creature to impact a solid object or another creature, it takes 1d3 points of damage and must succeed at a DC 15 Reflex save or be knocked prone. A creature that slides over the edge of the ship may make a second DC 15 Reflex save to catch itself on the vessel’s railing; otherwise, it falls overboard.
