Is it locked?

Knowledge | GSC | Mummy's Mask | WftC | RotR$ | Carrion Crown

It is not locked.

With the frequency of storm waves approaching the shore, salt water erupts from cracks in the floor of this large hexagonal room. Foamy, blinding spray jumps in every direction, then drains from calf-height to ankle-deep before the next wave hits. Occasionally a length of black-brown seaweed shoots in and adds one more strand to a room that already appears draped in long wet hair. In each of the chamber’s six corners, a fluted pillar rises to the fifty-foot ceiling. Between each pair of pillars, an open arch connects the chamber to an attached space. Beyond the northwest and southwest arches, three tiers of recessed spaces form three massive steps. A stone sarcophagus rests on each step.

I hate to say this, but the way you guys are set up, this is not going to make you happy...

Calling upon his goddess, Tametomo prepares to attack, but also provides a clear target for the undead. It charges him, and lunges for his shoulder, mouth opening wide.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

You will also need to make 2 different Fort saves (both DC 13)

You are paralyzed for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 rounds.

Assuming you are still able to attack, you are now going to draw AoOs, and I don't really see a place you can withdraw to and still make a full attack. (You may keep the attack rolls, however). Also, please note this was just his surprise round action.

Current AC: 24

Knowledge | GSC | Mummy's Mask | WftC | RotR$ | Carrion Crown

OK, let's start with the AoO. AC 24 should help!

Claw swipe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 And it does!

So the arrows hit their target, for a total of 16 damage.

The waves come crashing in. Only Tametomo and Crowe need to make Reflex DC 12 saves this round, or be blinded until the end of next action (-2 AC, lose Dex bonus to AC, move at 1/2, 50% miss chance). You could be covering your eyes instead and not need the reflex save, but I think the effect would be the same.

The creature continues to attack Tametomo.

Claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Thanks to Spoony, you might avoid a couple of these. However, depending on the Ref save, you may still take the first claw, so only apply the damage if you do not Ref save. For the bite you do take, make two DC 13 Fort saves please. If the claw also hits, please make one additional Fort 13 save. Of course, if you don't make the Ref save, I think you will also be staggered at 0hp.

Everyone else is up, so Tametomo could use some assistance!

No problem - I just happened to be around most of this weekend. Unusual for me for a 3-day weekend...did go to a steampunk festival in Hannibal Mo, though, so that was interesting. But I digress...

Mavaro casts his spell (on yourself, correct?) and gets into position. He tries to recall information about this particular type of undead, and knows that it is known as a "ghast", which is a stronger, more dangerous version of a ghoul. It's bite carries a nasty disease, and any successful attack could result in paralysis.

Crowe, who was blinded by the water spray, comes charging in anyway, and comes SOOOO close to hammering the creature, but the spray in his eyes is just too much.

Tametomo is able to move back out of melee range, and thuds two arrows deep into the creatures chest.

The waves crash up again (New Ref DC 13 save for everyone), and the ghast attacks each of the three opponents in his range, with claws to the sides and a bite at Dumm in the middle.

Claw at Crowe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Bite at Dumm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Claw at Mavaro: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Damage, IF BLINDED: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

@Dumm - Please make 2 Fort DC 13 saves.
@Mavaro - if you fail your "waves" Ref Save, then the claw should hit and you need to also make 1 Fort DC 13 save. If you make the Ref save, though, neither damage nor save required.

Although the thing had mauled him with his vicious claws, Mavaro's will was strong and he did not succumb to the numb feeling that crawled up from the wounds.
Before he was able to even land a single blow though, the creature was struck in twain by Dumm's mighty sword.

Mavaro takes the time to check the monstrosity, breaking off one of its toes when he thinks himself rather unobserved and stows it in some cloth that he produces from his bag. He also picks up the crown and rings, trying to get any idea about the ideantity of this old king that was unable to rest, focusing his mind to get in tune with the items.

He answers to Tametomo's remark coldly. "Desecration is not our duty, but we are here to extract all the knowledge we can find. This place was buried deep for centuries - much is to be learned."

Once he is done, he takes these items into custody, to grant them into the care of those in the Society who can learn even more from them.
Then he looks for the ghast's original resting place, and upon finding it, he adresses the others.
"This man died long ago, and may have been a great king once. He did not rest in peace, and he might well rise again should we leave him here - sprawled on the floor, arrows in his old flesh and almost cut in half. Help me return him to where he belongs."

Blinded by water, Dumm feels his weapon cut into dead flesh-- which quickly becomes dead weight. Wiping his eyes, he pulls his sword out of what turns out to be a no-longer-walking corpse. Fatigue sets in as his full consciousness returns.

He helps his allies with the remaining sarcophagus, and wonders why a weapon would ever need to be as fancy-looking as the sword they find within it. "You think maybe that the king?" he asks, gesturing to the dead creature. "Maybe he stays dead from now on," he adds as they return it to its tomb.

After take the ring, Crowe says to the others - ok, I believe that Lady Dashlane will want to do the funeral rites for her daughter. So, can some of you help to carry this sarcophagus back to surface? Once out there, we can bring it to her.

The bloodrager holds one of the sarcophagus' side, waiting for the help to carry it.

I don't believe you can move the sarcophagi but you can transport the body.
