Seeing the others move into position, and knowing the Taldan knight is ready to charge the exhibit-smashing owlbear, Vasily rushes forward, trying to hide behind the nearby bookcase before the powerful foe can see him. Once in place he draws his rapier, hoping to get behind the creature in the next round. As he rushes forward he peers at the owlbear trying to figure out what he might know about the creature. Once in place the begins singing a Varisian hunting song that he learned long ago in the caravans of his people.

No "special" attacks, but it has 10' reach and a bite and 2 claws (all at +13). Special abilities include:
Haunted (Su) An animated owlbear mascot is haunted by a
spirit. It takes damage from positive energy as if it were an
undead creature and can be detected by detect undead.
Reinforced (Ex) Due to its barding and the powerful psychic resonance that powers its body, an animated owlbear mascot gains 15 additional hit points, a +6 armor bonus to AC, and a +3 bonus on all saving throws.

Between Daniel and Peribras, the owlbear is riddled with arrows, but it seems to pay them little attention as it roars at you.

Studying the target while his allies are pelting it with arrows, Vasily calls out in between stanzas of his hunting song:"It's not a typical owlbear, but a spirit animated thing. Since it is akin to an undead creature, it should be vulnerable to divine positive energy. Also, it's psychic resonance makes it tougher than a typical wild creature, making it harder to hit and with more vitality than expected. Watch out for it's long reach and the claws and bite will penetrate most light and medium armor if not careful!"

Sorry, folks. I am spending a lot more time trying to get familiar with your characters, so posts are going to come much slower until it is clearer. Check discussion tab for some specific questions I have.

Ajir makes a lot of noise and flash, but doesn't come close to hitting the owlbear.

Clyde misses with his attack, and Dortlin trips the owlbear. As the owlbear tries to react, both Clyde and Dortlin are able to destroy it.

From the shadows, a beast-cat pounces on Lance. His horse, Flash, catches the scent in time to react, which gives Lance the edge he needs to move quickly as well.

Startled at the sudden appearance of the cat from the shadows, Vasily is taken aback enough that any memory of this type of beast eludes him, just on the tip of his tongue...He regains himself enough to begin another tune. This time a bawdy Taldor song about a knight who loved a lady and her fluffy kitty...

When able to act, Vasily will move 20' towards the cat. Not sure if the combat with owlbear ever officially ended, and if the bard needs another Standard Action to re-start Bardic Performance, but if so he will do that. If not, he will move 20 more feet towards the engaged knight. Solid vs Dashed line depending on answer.

There was a surprise round in which the cat went then Lance. Now the cat takes it's aoo vs Lance then we start regular init. It beat us all on init so it will then act again. Hopefully it doesn't have pounce/rake. And then we will all get to go.

Sorry, it was a little unclear, but since Lance had moved into the second encounter area, the cat attacked. It was, however, a separate encounter.

As Lance moves away, the cat takes a swipe at the horse's flank.

Then it charges (pounce) after horse and rider, trying to take down the rider. Lance has reach, I assume, so gets an AoO.

Peribras tumbles off of Darkpaw as he sends her to attack the panther. His tumble does not go as smoothly as he might like, but he still manages to land on his feet and take aim at the cat with an arrow from his bow.

As Daniel manages to put two arrows into the cat's flank, Lance comes charging in and skewers the beast, pinning it to the ground with his lance through it's neck. The cat dies instantly.

Meta Game for those interested:

This was an advanced dwemercat. Cat had DR/5 magic, and an AC of 27 (+8 Dex, +1 dodge, +8 natural). Daniel did not confirm his threat, but only missed it by 1. The other arrow only hit because a natural 20. Had you had anyone casting spells at it, it would have gotten much nastier quick!
