Libri the Resolute |
Libri looks with hope to the door.
"If we are able to shut out the skeletons, perhaps our skulk acquaintances would give us a safe place to rest for the night. I feel that we would be better prepared to deal with the skeletons come morning."
Jorac Kashtar |
"I agree with you. Sometimes a retreat is a sounder choice. Do we have any means of blocking that door from our side?" the engineer thinks out loud.
Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
I was thinking of using my creation power to create tools to block the door and let us escape, but maybe my engineering skills will give me a better idea?
Taran Starmetal |
"I'm trying to keep it closed right now! I'mma open to input, eh?" the dwarf snaps curtly.
EndlessForms |
With a little bit of work and ingenuity, the party is able to jam the door and pile debris in front of it. You are reasonably certain that the skeletons will not be able to break through.
Going back to the skulks or back to Torch?
Taran Starmetal |
"Perhaps we should head back to torch to rest. I don't think the skulks are the best o' company."
Jorac Kashtar |
"I agree. Once we've completed the tasks they assigned to us, I *might* think about trusting them a bit, but not before that. By the way, we'll also be able to return the bounty and the body we found."
EndlessForms |
The party heads back to Torch to rest and recover, remembering that Khonnir's daughter Val has offered you free stay at the Foundry Tavern. As you approach the Foundry, you hear something startling-a scream of terror coming from the small stone house behind the tavern! "We are here to help you, Val. Stay calm, and leave the room if you are able."

Out of combat!
Val emerges from under the table-a little dusty from her ordeal but otherwise unharmed. She greets you all with a thankful hug. "Oh thank you! Just in time! You've been in the caves, right? You're probably hungry and tired. Let me make up a few beds and bring you some food. I'm afraid I can't offer you much more than bedrolls in the tavern as lodgings, but you're welcome to all the food you need."
Jorac Kashtar |
Jorac nods and acklowledges her kindness with weary eyes. "That would be most welcome, thank you Val. Our foray has been exhausting, but promising. A few leads on Master Khonnir's whereabouts, we should be able to know more tomorrow when we head back. Have the attacks by drones such as that one increased lately?" says Jorac, sitting down at long last and resting for a moment or two.
If you don't mind I'll revise my spell list for the next day. Is that alright?
Mefindio Chezwezlian |
Chezwezl gives Libri a look of admiration as she takes down the drone. "Well done, lass!"
In response to Val, the gnome bows deeply. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, miss. I am Mefindio Chezwezlian III. My companions and I are most grateful for your kind offer."
Libri the Resolute |
Libri gives a sigh of relief, well-worn from the day's events. "It is agreeable to finally meet you, Val. I am Libri the Resolute. We have been in the caves, yes--diligently searching for your father. Your hospitality is more than enough; thank you for your kindness."
