Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Kharn will stand up and attack the tree.
Attack 1 w/Pa w/Ra w/Ep: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Damage 1: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) + 15 = 23
Ac is 12 for round , and 10/16 rounds of rage left.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

I suppose Eryan would heal Kharn again since he's taking a beating..
2d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 6) + 5 = 12 DC 17 on this one..

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 Kharn once again get's full healing.

Argan Midnight |

Kinda confused, but anyway.
The hasted Argan takes an unavoidable blow, and things do not look good for him. He attacks the new three thrice, with the first two swings being mighty, but he was certain that would hit the third, and put his while weight over the blow. But the three impressively dodge him, which would take a normal character off balance for quite some time, but not the agile rogue. He manage to turn aside and put a foot over one of the tree's roots, recovering swiftly from the effect.
Haste Attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 1 = 25! Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Sabre 1: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 1 = 27! Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Sabre 2: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 = 11! Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Fumble roll: 1d100 ⇒ 94 Wide open!
Reflex Save DC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 Denied!
Hopefully I'll last another round, but on the other one I'm doomed.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Perhaps you should have helped us finish the other one quickly lol.. Maybe Eryan can get to you..
Is this the last round of haste or was the last one last?
Vlad will use his last bit of haste to quickly join Eryan at the other tree.. Double move up to 140' if neccessary Once he arrives he uses another smite good on the rock throwing tree..
Hopefully Kharn can get it together and kill the other one with Eryan healing him..

Lilpinny Marfedelom |

Blood Infusion: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Lilpinny picks one of her scabs on her wrists open, feeling lightheaded from blood loss. Then she points at the treant who dared to throw a rock at her, invoking necromancy to blind it. Then she steps behind a tree for cover in case it decides to attack her again.
Blindness. DC 21 will save or be permanently blinded. HP is currently 1.

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Kharn attacks the tree with his fading speed.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Damage: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (5, 3, 5) + 15 = 28
Attack 2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Damage 2: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) + 15 = 27
AC is 12 for a round, and 9/16 rage rounds left.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

To Argan.. Eryan is staying with Kharn for now..
It's not fun when you're facing more CR than you should be huh Lil..
My AC is 30 vs the new Tree..

GMEDWIN |

Well this is in the module. which was avoidable... at least for now it was... And you aren't having fun? Don't you guys like a challenge?
The treant attacks Argan: 11d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35 hit 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (5, 6) + 11 = 22 Argan is unconscious.
The treant on Kharn attacks 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37 crit Severity check DC 20/30/401d20 + 25 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 25 + 2 = 42.. 1d100 ⇒ 97 What’s Going On?
Target suffers maximum plus bonus damage and 1d8
hours of target’s memory is erased.
Save: DC 30 Fortitude save negates; deals additional
bonus damage instead.
DC30 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21 fail You take 21 pts of damage +2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6... 1d8 ⇒ 6 hours his memory is erased. Kharn doesn't know who, or what he is, or why he is where he is.

Argan Midnight |

Next time would you please make me the favor of telling me that I'm 15 feet away from the tree? And maybe, that it is another Treant? Is it the one tossing rocks at us? Cause Argan would not take an AoO against one of those things. Tumbling around the enemies is one of his basic moves, in which he's pretty good at, but the distance or reach is not shown on the map. I'm hasted so I could tumble 30 feet, putting me almost behind the creature and just waiting so someone could come and flank, but having taken 20 points of damage from the first attack Argan knows he cannot take a free hit. If that's not too much to ask, anyway. Thanks.

Argan Midnight |

You mean FOUR. YOU are gonna die. I'm dead already.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

First off the encounter isnt supposed to be 4 of them, 2nd we're supposed to be 6th level, not 5th when doing this encounter, so we are at a huge disadvantage and while we are stout for our level cannot handle CR 5+ encounters, which is what this has turned into.. The main one can summon up to 2 others, each is a standard action, which he did while still throwing rocks somehow.. Then he summoned another after the first died, while still throwing rocks.. And yes i like a challenge, not a massacre..
It would also be helpful if our dice would roll double digits every once in a while.. Additionally if you didnt roll a 20 1 in every 3 attacks..

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Sry for the rant there, but being behind a level throughout this thing has annoyed me at times.. This wouldn't have been the same fight if we had 3 attacks while hasted not 2..

GMEDWIN |

That assessment is not wholly accurate. If you remember which you obviously have chosen not to, the two trees were animated as a readied action before the first round and in the first round he started throwing rocks, your group had the advantage but squandered because the trees couldn't do anything until round 2. He can animate trees "At will." You are supposed to be 6th level by the time you find the horn. Well, should you have read the module? no... The key point here is you shouldnt be 6th level but fifth. On the real Eryann disappeared and well that is also a huge problem. You're probably doing a decent job running him but he would probably be better at it than you. I get it you like to rant and deflect. This is more due to bad luck than anything. On a side note, there is a discrepancy between books 1 and 2, at the end of book 1 it says the players should be 6th level, but in book 2 it says the players should be 6th level as they enter the Horn...

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Not to add fuel to the fire, but when activating any ability unless it specifically states what type of action it is the action is considered to be a standard action. The treant animated a tree and threw a rock at Argan all in the same round, so Argan should either get 31 hp back or there should be 1 less treant and all of that treant's actions should be retracted. Secondly if these are regular treants then their AC is 21. Kharn met AC 21 which is a hit, but it was counted as a miss. Thirdly, I believe that Vlad is right when he says that we should be sixth level. I just looked up the product on the paizo website, and it says that this is an adventure path for sixth level characters which seems to imply that we should satrt out at sixth level. Finally, the treant couldn't attack and remain hidden without a stealth roll at a -20 for sniping. This would let Lilpenny and Argan get a perception check versus a stealth check to see exactly where the rocks were coming from beforehand. Again this isn't meant to be mean or anything, but Vlad did bring up some valid points.

GMEDWIN |

That is the discrepancy as it is stated in the module itself about the level the characters should be when. I wasn't the GM during the first book so, if there are encounters which you avoided or you are lower than you should be it is also not my fault. According to pg 2 of the module, when entering the Horn you should be 6th level, which means it is designed for fifth level characters but lets not forget this AP is designed for 4 not 5 characters anyway.
The small one has a smaller AC, so I do apologize for that, which doesn't change much at all except maybe its closer to death than before(math computed). I have no problem admitting to a mistake on my part whatsoever this is an AP in which the PCs make choices. If you guys tried to talk to the treant, he would have let you go in or if you said thanks and he would have left you alone. Or if you talked he would have been closer and then he wouldn't have been able to bombard you from a distance. The truth is I have been rolling really high and you low... it is bad luck

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

I will also admit that one party member who shall remain nameless maybe should have put that charisma score he has to good use in lying instead of proudly proclaiming that we are evil. Are we evil? Maybe we are good and are helping the treants by training? That being said Kharn can't quite remember who that party member is, or who even he is. Or why he's in a forest. Also, what's a party member?
Kharn looks around, but not understanding much of anything drops whatever this metal thing he has in his hand, and maybe begins wandering in a random direction.
Direction 1-8 or just sit 9: 1d9 ⇒ 4
Kharn begins walking off into the forest unless something attacks him at which point he will Fight 1-50 or Flight 51-100: 1d100 ⇒ 65 run away from whatever attacks him.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

It was obviously not a wise tatic on Vlad's part, and for that i apologize.. It will be a lesson learned if we somehow survive this..I would like to add i rolled AC 21 at least once on the lesser ones as well and missed..
Whos turn is it?

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Does Kharn really go walking off into the woods? I mean he lost 6 hours of memory not his entire memory.. Countless times ive awoke in a stupor from the nigth before and not remembered much and never once did i just wander off aimlessly..
Confused by what is going on Eyran has no course ot action really.. i guess he'll start running over to the rest of the group.. Double move 60' towards Vlad and Argan..

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

I thought it was more "you are now like Jason bourne. You're in a forest and you have no clue who you are or why you are here." If I am wrong about that then Kharn would probably act differently.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Eryan just went so it should be us 3 again..
Vlad moves up the the master tree and attacks..
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22 while smiting overcomes all DR..
AC is 30..

GMEDWIN |

A.o.o
On Vlad 1d20 + 19 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 19 - 4 = 23 miss
Vlad hits the treant on the ground.
The second treant who was fighting Kharn double moves in the direction of where Vlad is (which is only 20 feet.)
Full Attack against Vlad 1d20 + 19 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 19 - 4 = 31 hit 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (4, 5) + 11 = 20
2nd 1d20 + 19 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 19 - 4 = 29 miss
Eryan

Vladamir Orlovsky |

If Kharn doesnt get his head out of his ass we all die.. I understand ur trying to RP your condition, but its gonna get us all killed..
Eryan heals Argan with his last 3nd level spell..
2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 3) + 5 = 10

Argan Midnight |

I assume you mean second level spell, right?
Do I act now or later? Also, has it used it AoO for the round on Vlad or has it another one now that it has acted?

Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up* |

Argan was only unconscious and in fact he should have regained consciousness on his turn because he still had the fast healing 1 from the infernal healing wand.
Kharn begins wandering towards the sound of combat hoping to find human contact.
Moving 80 ft. towards the sounds of combat.

Vladamir Orlovsky |

Vlad heals himself as a swift and attacks the main one..
2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19 with him tripped this hits i suppose..
Dam: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
