Sir Garon gives what ho and slashes one of the pirates deeply, while Taicho flails at the same target. That wasn't purple. That is your compatriot. Moved you to Blue.

Amon, however, shows everyone how is it done and stabs one of the aggressors in the kidneys, causing him to fall on the ground writhing in pain before passing out from blood loss.

Papy takes a 5' step and casts Enlarge person on Amon.
Enlarge person spell

Garon's target unleashes a series of strikes against the Paladin and one of the slashes connects between the holy man's armor plates. As his scimitar strikes, the Qadiran pirate falls over. A pool of blood at his feet betrays his momentary vigor.

Scimitar @ Garon-18 AC: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

The two archers line up shots and attempt to fell the Kitsune. One of the arrows misses, but the other is too quick for the once-dextrous foxman.

Shortbow @ Amon-11 AC: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Shortbow @ Amon-11 AC: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

These men drop their bows and draw their scimitars after firing.

Riverbane squeals with joy as her traitorous men whittle away at the Pathfinders. She unleashes another bolt of magic, but this time at the Tien Xia Tengu descendant. "Now you see why I should run the Pirate Pact! Finish them off, men!"

Magic Missile @ Taicho: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

One-Eyed Farl stumbles to a nearby tree and slumps to the ground. "Just... kill... Riverbane." mutters the man before his eyes close and he falls unconscious. His body hits the grass roughly as his sword clatters against the roots.

The Osiriani seems to be fighting against the tide as fire engulfs him. The sorcerer's outstretched hands appear as if they are a red dragon belching forth gouts of white-hot flame. The elderly man's wood and stone shields that he has conjured can only hold off the flames for so long.

Papy finishes an incantation and Amon becomes the size of a small house.

Round 2 HP 2/9 Thanks for the move; wasn't sure I was reading the map right :-)

Dropping his sword, Taicho draws and fires his short bow at #2-Orange, after a quick step around Garon.

Taicho fells his intended target with a single arrow as Papy tends to Garon's wounds.

Amon, invigorated by the spell of growth, moves to the fore and lashes out at the traitorous first mate, however his attacks fall short or stabbing the deceitful woman.

Garon moves between Amon's six foot legs and fords the river to slash at the woman, however his aim is obscured by the rushing water that splashed into his eyes as his blade slams into a nearby sapling.

Longsword: 1d20 ⇒ 6

The remaining pirate lackey steps back and fires his shortbow at the new target, Amon. Being the size of a barn and suffering from the ettercap's poison has made Amon an easy target as the arrow punches through his thigh.

Shortbow @ Amon-9 AC: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

The man looks unnerved and the First Mate clearly sees this. "Don't you dare run, you fool! We either succeed or die here today!" yells Riverbane as she unleashes another blast of magical energy at the Paladin.

Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Meanwhile, the magical cage of force and wood has sealed itself entirely shut with the two casters inside. Minor explosions and gut-wrenching sounds can be heard inside.

Amon's blade sinks deep into the throat of Riverbane, silencing her forever. She was on the cusp of 0 HP.

The group catches their breath as the remaining pirate jumps up and runs away, likely to be killed by the Pirate Pact at some point in the future.

It takes a second, but the eerie silence in the clearing finally gets to them. What about the Osiriani!?

The group turns to look at where the two mages were dueling. A charred husk lay strangled by roots and vines on the north bank as your compatriot stands, unable to if not for his quarterstaff.

Well met, friends. Well met.

---

With Riverbane dead or captured, the Pathfinders are free to return to the Scrag Fisher. Two pirates still on board plead ignorance of their captain’s conspiracy and readily offer to bring the Pathfinders back to Deadbridge.

Following an uneventful return trip, you meet again with the Black Marquis. The man listens to their tale with great interest and thanks them profusely.

Being the greedy pirate he is, Bazzak refuses to reward the Pathfinders beyond letting them keep what they looted. “Such is the way of the River Kingdoms,” he declares. “If nothing else, your involvement in this affair helped free the region of a dangerous ettercap menace. Hopefully, that’s worth a quick mention in a Pathfinder Chronicle. No?” As for Istivil Bosk, he is certainly disappointed by the turn of events but doesn’t hold it
against you.
