Mike finds that he in unable to maintain the effect as it requires a living target. It appears that the target of his and Exiel's combined attack is well and properly dead. Technically this is still the same round that you suffocated Rasputin, but you can tell that after Exiel's attack you no longer need to maintain the effect on Rasputin.
Rhon remains on standby to protect Mike. Earl surges forward to clear a path through what remains of the pew barrier. As he gets close, he also feels himself assaulted by evil energy. 50 damage DC24 will save for half.
Exiel and Earl need will saves.
42 is still up this turn.

![]() |

Keen on using his one new spell, and since no one is in the target area. 42 stops blinking, raises up his hands and casts Cloudkill Fort 20 or dead
He makes sure to keep his allies out of the clouds area.

![]() |

42, Where is the cloudkill area? There is no one alive that you can see right now.

![]() |

Cant edit the map, Have the front edge of the could be 10 foot in front of him, him standing in the center.

![]() |

Best fit I can give you without getting Exiel is to have the cloud directly between Exiel and Rasputin. This will cut off everyone's line of sight from Rasputin's body because the cloud obscures sight and is 20ft high. I have marked the area with a green circle on the map. Do you want to proceed?

![]() |

Do we have an ally on the other side of him? I only see one unknown icon on the map, I’m assuming that it’s him? If so, then I would like him to be inside of the mist. That way it will kill him.

![]() |

Ok, he will be inside the fog then. I understand your intentions now.
Despite Rasputin appearing to be dead, 42 is not content and seeks to ensure that to be the case. He calls upon his magic to conjure a yellowish-green cloud of highly toxic fumes over where Rasputin's body lies.
For a moment, all is silent. Then you hear a gasp coming from within the cloud, followed by Rasputin's booming, rage-filled voice.
"Pathetic wretches! Do you think all of that is sufficient to kill someone of my power? All you have succeeded in doing is making me angry! Now you pay the price and face my full fury!"
1d4 ⇒ 1
2d20 ⇒ (17, 2) = 19
Rasputin rises from the fog and casts one powerful incantation followed swiftly by another. There is no apparent effect that you can see, and Rasputin's reactions are mixed.
All Pathfinders are up!
Somehow Rasputin who should have been dead appears to be alive again. It is not clear how, and he does appear to be slightly weaker compared to before he was suffocated by Mike.
Rasputin is hovering 20ft above ground.
Exiel and Earl still need will saves!

Exiel feels a tinge of worry as he recognises the order of magic that Rasputin has just called upon...
"That was a miracle spell, a spell that calls upon a god or patron to alter reality itself for the caster, albeit within some limits. He also attempted a dispel magic, but that seems to have failed, so his powers certainly aren't infallible."
"Anyway, if you're masochistic enough to come back for round 2, the least we could do is oblige!"
Exiel activates the power of his rapier to suffuse his body with radiant glowing energy and channels a surge of healing into himself to recover some more health.
lay on hands: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Finally he flies as close to Rasputin as the antilife shell will permit him to, without dropping down into 42's cloud.
By my count, I took 20 damage from whatever it was, and healed back 6.
Activating my rapier gives me a +4 sacred bonus to CHA for 10 minutes. My CHA bonus is now +12. My AC and saves go up by 2.

Mike just Shrugs and Suffocates him again, although this time he lacks the power to force the air out of Rasputin's lungs.
Since I can't force the breath from his lungs, instead suffocate forces him to hold his breath for as long as I concentrate. Also, I am going to take a move action to center myself. If he wants to be able to speak, on each of his turns he can make a DC27 fort save to be able to do so, but he can't breathe unless he gets out of range, I stop concentrating, or he breaks line of effect.

Rhon scoops up the fallen amulet and maintains his ground knowing that it is suicide to run into the toxic cloud that stands between him and Rasputin.

![]() |

Earl crumbles as he crosses the threshold of whatever effect damaged him and Exiel. Rhon scoops up the fallen amulet left behind.
Exiel lays a buff on himself and heals himself and flies forward until he can no longer move forward as he is repelled by Rasputin's antilife shell. Mike tries to suffocate Rasputin again, but this time only makes it difficult for Rasputin to breathe...
Mike, you need to use flame jet upwards to see Rasputin who is on the other side of the cloud. Fortunately you can do this as a move action and hover without using an action.
42 what do you want to do? Rasputin is about 100ft away from you and you need to be able to fly to see him.

![]() |

42 The Cloudkill spell is not dismissable. But I also f***ed up. Rasputin levitated himself over the cloud, so you can see him from your original location 100ft away.

42 advances and begins to blink. As he crosses the threshold into the transept, he feels his body wracked with pain. 42 takes 16 points of damage, DC24 will save for half. This already takes into consideration your blinking.
Rasputin sneers at Mike's weakened attempt at suffocating him, which he has resisted anyway. He responds by casting two spells rapidly. The first spell causes the entire transept to be washed with black fire, the other causes Exiel's body to be enveloped in a cold, cloying miasma of greasy darkness.
42 takes 16 points of untyped damage, DC24 will save for half. This already takes into consideration your blinking.
Everyone takes 62 fire damage, DC26 reflex save for half. 42's blinking does NOT protect him from this for some reason. Evasion is ok.

"You should all learn to just die without making a nuisance of yourselves!" Rasputin shouts as he comes running out of the cloud. He casts a spell again to flood the transept with fire once more, and then a quickened spell to heal some of his wounds.

Mike, you had taken 100 damage before this round, not 110. You also only took 19 damage this round because you have fire resistance 5. So you have taken 119 damage total and 135 non-lethal burn. That is a total of 254, so you were just barely conscious even before Rhon healed you, unless that hp total does not count the 2 negative levels you took earlier. Anyway, Rhon should have brought you back to conscious so you still get to act.
Mike is up.

Rasputin curses at Exiel as he is sent back into the cloud, and swears that Exiel will be the next to fall.

The spiral starcase at the back. Looks like part of it is walled off, so if Rasputin went up it we would not have seen him?
"If I don't come back out, and you hear me screaming... maybe come in after me?" he says with a wry chuckle.
Exiel flies forward into the cloudkill moving straight for where he saw the entrance to the stairs, then rushes up the stairs out of the cloud as quick as he can.
