Lore nods to Aro and Eadie... "Sounds like you two have this - but I can add a little food to the mix if more is needed, and I can create quite a bit of water for them as well if they need it - it can be more essential to survival than food if they are lacking, even if we have to ferry it up with ropes one skin at a time."
I feel fine - a little woozy and some swelling, but I'm otherwise good, no real pain, but the meds are still working fine :)
Khamûl Unqualë

Khamul looks up to where the fortress is hitting the ceiling of the cavern and holding up the fracture that it has caused. "I don't think they'll be able to get out that way. Looks pretty well lodged up there and I don't want this whole place coming down on us. Don't these things usually come with a door though? Why don't we just make sure this place is safe before we let them out?"
| GM Aarvid |
Bertrag whispers you as you approach.
"No need to climb up. I can open the door and we will gladly accept any food you have. There were about a handful of Doomsday grunts to the east and their zealot cultist leader is down deeper in the mine to the southwest. But beware, he commands a powerful beast."
He pauses and then after consideration.
"I can escort the prisoners to the surface, but we will be moving slow in our condition, even with some food. If you can distract the Doomsday wackos or take them out while we escape that would help. We do not want to get caught in a battle while moving to and operating the elevator. What say you?"
Lorelendral Teklet
|
"Sounds like a good plan... are you in need of water as well?... I can create whatever you might need, but I only have one skin to hold it - have you any containers for such?"
Eadie Navhelan
|
"What say you?"
Eadie looks the monk in the eye. “My helm is old. My god is gold. Súrë has a bird he likes to hold. My slipper’s off. My foot is cold. And now my story is all told.”
Khamûl Unqualë
|
"Súrë? I thought that bird-loving weirdo died a while back. Did he get better? Fine agent, just a little. . . eccentric. Did he make you look at his bug collection? I couldn't break away from him for an hour."
Lorelendral Teklet

Lore considers giving Eadie a hotfoot, just to warm her up, lol

The warrior regards the necromancer with surprise. “I keep forgetting what a small world the Society is. I hadn’t heard Súrë had passed though. I sincerely hope he got yanked back from Pharasma’s queue in time.”
Eadie closes her eyes and shakes her head. “He and I went on a blind date … once.”
I think someone’s feeling better ☺

Very well, I will gather the others and we will prepare to make for the surface. May Irori be with you."
He closes the tower door to presumably gather the other prisoners.

It appears some of that lovely luck has rubbed off on me as well, Lore. Didn’t you roll a 20 in the horse chamber as well?
**Surprise Round**
Eadie delays until after (Aro), Lore and Jonty.
She then takes a 5’ step to the south not an action and raises her falchion looking to make a lunging strike at any Day Knight that comes in range. ready an action (std) (PLUS an AoO if an enemy closes with her).
| GM Aarvid |
Lore and Eadie hear movement to the south while resisting the heat
from the volcanic steam more prevalent in this lower mine chamber.
Go ahead and give an action in the surprise round.

Arovandeon was just considering the need for alchemical protection from the heat when he hears trouble approaching. Deciding that he can withstand it a little longer, he instead grabs his mutagen and drinks it. His mind expands with mental power, though his shoulders stoop as the side-effects sap his strength.

Arovandeon drinks down his brain-boost smoothie.
Two of the doom knights see Corbalias and Eadie move into view.
The lead one channels the dark energy of Rovagug. All within the 30' burst are burned with the wrath of the dark one.
negativity: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4) = 10 DC16 WILL for half damage (Jonterra & Arovandeon are out of range)

Jonterra calls forth a divine blessing upon the party.
Lore sends a bead of fire and force down into the dark chamber. A flash of burning light followed by yells of men, seen briefly.
The smell of burnt flesh, hair and other objects overpowers the stench of the volcanic steam.

With the extra light from Eadie's wayfinder in the room, Lore and Eadie notice The southern walls of this messy campsite are covered in

The floor is covered in the charred remains of a campsite, with burnt bedrolls and personal effects.

Eadie looks right-left-right in the Chelish manner, to see what she can see down the unexplored mine passages.
“You know in Andoran, pedestrians look left-right-left before they cross the road. I know this because during my first eva week in Augustana, Monterey I looked right-left-right and almost got run over by a coupla Andorans driving before them an ENORMOUS Dire Dodge Ram!”
Eadie looks a little sheepish. “They stopped to make sure I was OK, which was very nice of them. (And I was). And they weren’t mad at all, but I certainly learnt a valuable lesson.”
Khamûl Unqualë
|
Hahaha! I've had the similar (opposite) problem when I was in Australia and NZ.
"Glad to hear you survived that one then. At least the Andorans you came across were nice; most of the ones I have met were quite. . . loud and opinionated, often without much thought to those very opinions. Strange combination."

Yep, just about every American we encountered on our US trip was courteous and helpful. In restaurants, on the street, on the road, other (American) tourists. Indeed, you guys could teach us a lot about being courteous on the road.
I spoke to an Australian ex-pat on the plane over about driving on the RHS of the road. He said ‘Don’t worry. You’ll pick it up in half an hour.’ It wasn’t half an hour, but after maybe 2 hours I was fine. The only place SO and I still got confused was driving in big shopping centre/mall car parks.
