GM Hiyami |

Hello and welcome! I know we've a long while yet - a whole month! - but everyone's all signed up and since there are two players that aren't entirely sure what they're intending to play, I thought it might be best to give you all the opportunity to discuss party composition, marching order, and possibly botting partnerships.
That said, I'm basically a baby when it comes to pbp! I'm currently in the last few stages of running this same module for a non-PFS group. (It was my first toe-dip into GMing pbp since I wasn't sure what I'd be getting myself into!) This means that I've got most of the materials ready and I've got a pretty good idea how I'd like this to go. Given that this is the real world, however, and all sorts of odds and ends come up, I can't promise that I'll be the best GM ever, but I'll certainly give it my all.
As I mentioned in my sign-up sheet's instructions, I'd like to stick to a decently rapid pace. Since this is a module I'll have hopefully completed by the time we actually begin, that means I'm hoping to move along at a rate of two or three posts a day. I'm also hoping for high quality posts with interior monologue and meaningful team interactions.
I know, I know, I'm pretty demanding, right? Still, I'm also very much aware that everyone's got different lifestyles and some people might not be able to check everyday. What I've described is my hoped for scenario. I'm aware (painfully aware, even) that most PFS pbp games run at a rate of a post of day - if you're lucky.
So! In addition to discussion party composition, expectations, and other maintenance before PbP Gameday VI actually begins, I'd like to get an understanding of what you as players would like to see from me. One of my hopes is that I'll be able to keep an open line of communication with everyone, so if I'm being too demanding or outrageous, please don't ever be worried about telling me!
I'm at least 2/3rds compelled to do strange things in strange ways, so if you're even the slightest bit concerned, I'm probably doing something sideways so I'll definitely embrace your suggestions. c:
Anyways, in addition to responding here to open discussion, please dot/delete the campaign thread so you can keep track of what's going on until the game begins!

Hi Hiyami, thanks for running this. Planning on running Mythryndyr (Myth for short) thru this, providing he survives the scenario he's currently in (should be finished well before Gameday). Should be at level 1.2 at the start of this. He's a half-Elf Sniper (Rogue).
I love faster paced games so no worries there...I can post multiple times per day, as needed...
Thanks again!

GM Hiyami |

Oooh, so we've got one backliner (I assume, seeing the 'Sniper' bit) thus far. Is there a backup in case that scenario goes horribly sideways? o: I wouldn't say it's common, but it's been known to happen, orz.
I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone else, too! c:

![]() |

Hi Hiyami and Myth, and all who post later too.. I should be running Jamiroquai in this (his current game is over half over and should easily be done by start of game day). I should be able to post multiple times per day most days.

While I think Myth will be finished at least a week or so beforehand, I can come up with a backup, no worries. The GM running the scenario Myth is in also likes to run at a quick pace...I've played a couple of scenarios he ran previously and they both were done within a month, and we're a week into this one, so I don't foresee any issues.
I'm in a couple of scenarios now, with other characters, that have gone sideways, as you say...the GM, as well as some players, are only posting once or twice a week...it's painfully slow...
Oh and here's his PFS info:

First let me echo the previous thanks for running this. PbP GMing is an interesting beast and always appreciated by the playing community.
Posting rate will not be a problem, I have a desk job and no boss so I can post at work.
Haron is all set to go.

![]() |

Hey all. New to PFS, so I don't know how all the book keeping works, and Ive only been playing Pathfinder PbP since February, but Ive got a couple other campaigns going so I'm getting it down pretty quick.
Please feel free to give any advice and corrections as neccessary.
Brock is a melee hunter with flank buddy wolf. I haven't fully fleshed out the roleplaying part of him yet, but I have time. Also since I was having trouble deciding what class to try for PFS (I already have my two favorite classes, magus and bard going) if we need something different to help the party I would consider switching. Bloodrager and Occultist had interested me before I went with hunter.
Posting will be easy for me. I am a stay at home dad with way too much time. I do, however, nearly always post via phone so please excuse typos I make while posting one handed while simultaneously corraling a toddler.

![]() |

Posting by phone. Formatting is a drag though. My daughter was born just over a year ago so I was doing the same kind of posting a lot.
I have only been playing since the end of November and am now GMing two AP's and in two other so its easy to get pulled in it seems.

GM Hiyami |

So, thus far, we've got four people that are good with an accelerated pacing, which is makin' me hopeful. c:
Brock, if you have any questions, feel free to ask! My experience with the pbp community has been extremely positive. I'm happy to answer whatever questions I can and I imagine the many others in the community will happily tackle the ones I can't.
So Brock and his wolfy friend are front liners! Duly noted. c: And we've got a Magus, who I think is another body for the front! I'm not familiar enough with psychokineticists to know where they usually land (but I'll definitely be doing some reading!) and a sniper!
JAF0 and Otha both had a good idea - I should probably get the logistics down and saved ahead of time, too. c:
Please give me the following information if you haven't already!

Hello all;
I believe I said I'd run a Brawler in the sign-up sheet, so that'll be my plan going forward. I've got some ideas circulating, so I'll start rolling the new character tomorrow (gives me something to do on break and during lunch).
Otherwise, I'm currently playing in a PbP (but non-PFS) game here on the Paizo boards, and I've been having a blast with it. It's my first time playing PbP, and I'm loving the change of pace. This module will be my first time playing in the PFS, so I might be asking a bunch of questions, and if I'm doing something wrong, it's certainly not out of maliciousness, it'll be coming from a place of cluelessness. :P

I'll be looking forward to whoever it is you roll up! c:
Also, thank you Brock :D
How do you guys typically prefer receiving your chronicle sheets? Email? Kind of en masse via Google drive?

![]() |

Same on easiest for you, dont have a preference yet :)

Waiting a whole month to start is going to annoy me.

![]() |

Good with either way. As long as I can put it in dropbox later it all works.
So is it bad that I do not have a profession? Is it a PFS thing that I should?

GM Hiyami |

Ahahaaaa, sorry to have to wait so long, but it's for pbp gameday vi, which has its own (hopefully?) boons and bonuses, so alas, I cannot start ahead of schedule! If it makes you feel better, though, you could probably roll up another character to run in the meanwhile in a different game. c:
And there are many people that don't have a profession. c: It is entirely up to you! Keep in mind that there are other sources of income you could take on. For example, with enough PP, you could pick up the Thieves' Guild or Temple vanities which allow you to use your Sleight of Hand and Heal checks respectively as though they were your profession. This works for some of the other skills, too - you can get more information about that in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting PFS Field Guide.
And you'd be surprised! It's definitely good for getting a bit of gold in between sessions, but it can also be handy in games - profession tailor, for example, or scribe, have both come up in games as potential solutions to problems that I've encountered. Additionally, the other reason you might have a profession is to help flavor your character. c:

zebeev here, just rolled my Brawler for the Gameday.
"'Allo there! No, there's no need to stand. Your eyes ain't failin' you, but yer nose might! Hah hah hah! You've just been graced wit' the presence of Corbett the Crab, 'ardest man in The Puddles."
In his downtime, Corbett competes in the local bare-knuckle fighting pits, often betting on himself.

I will pick up a profession when I next level I think. Probably a good thing to have and better to be more well rounded.

![]() |

unless you're somehow a wisdom based magus, wouldn't you be better off with an int-based craft?

![]() |

Yep. That would make sense I didn't really think about that since I am pretty sure I cannot actually craft in PFS but it would be good for money.

![]() |

well that's not entirely true... you cannot craft things to sell or replace purchases... but you can craft things within some scenarios to fulfill requirements of the scenario... I've had characters make books as gifts for 'bribery' or 'diplomacy' bonuses... I was in one scenario where we had to draw maps and my character had craft: charts and maps... so it can come in handy in other ways, plus of course for day job rolls.

Brock, PbP PFS Gameday VI is basically the online equivalent of a convention. c: Instead of everyone trying to get together physically - some people are busy, can't afford it, or simply don't want to go to a large building full of people and body odor to be inundated with salespeople and merchandise. Yes, there are a lot of awesome things at conventions, but there are also a lot of reasons people might not attend them.
Plus, if your only really way to enjoy PFS is through PbP... Well, it means you miss out on all of the really fun things that happen at conventions, right? So GMs Hmm, Shifty, Granta, and some others (I don't know the whole roster) began to organize online versions of said events! c: Now we get to enjoy multitable specials like the Cosmic Captive, which we just completed, and the Solstice Scar, which will kick off in August with the start of the event.
The official PbP Gameday VI announcement is here.

GM Hiyami |

You are most welcome! c:
I should also point out that you can use Craft (Alchemy) in PFS. c: You can find that here, but I'll go ahead and quote it, too.
Alchemists can use the Craft (alchemy) skill to produce items with their Alchemy ability. Follow the Craft rules on pages 91–93 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook as well as in the alchemist’s Alchemy ability description. Any item created must be properly noted on that scenario’s Chronicle sheet. Under "Items Bought", note the amount of gold spent and the item created. Alchemists are assumed, for Pathfinder Society Organized Play, to carry the necessary items and tools with them to use available resources to create alchemical items. If they have a base of operations from which to do so, they may use an alchemy lab to gain the +2 bonus on their Craft (alchemy) check. Alchemists may never sell any of their created items nor may they trade them to another PC. However, they may allow other PCs to borrow or use items they’ve created (so long as the alchemist class ability being used allows them to do so).
You can also craft alchemical cartridges for half the price of the cartridge if you're running someone that uses 'em. That's here.
You've also got poison creation a la Craft (alchemy) here. I hope that's helpful! c:

Attention!
Your GM is kind of a silly goofball and didn't realize that this Module is intended for 1st-level adventurers only. I had begun prepping some of the materials for the start of things and realized the Chronicle Sheet doesn't have anything listed for Tier 2.
That said, I am an idiot and very, very sorry for my mistake. I apologize. A lot. ;A;
As far as correcting it, I believe most of the characters that will be going on the adventure are 1st-level, but if had planned to run this with a 2nd-level character, please PM me and let me know what you would like to do.
Apologies again and thank you very much!
-GM Hiyami

![]() |

I believe you can play this with a 2nd lvl character as well, but only once... it is everygreen for 1st lvls.

GM Hiyami |

Well, part of my confusion is that the chronicle sheet itself only shows rewards for a 1st level character. :c

![]() |

maybe ask Hmm? .. send her a pm or ask in the Flaxseed discussion thread.

![]() |

Honestly I had thought you could do 1st or 2nd and it was only evergreen for a 1st. That said, if I have to, I can simply bring a different character. I am waiting for a GM to send sheets on a 1st level that I have been toying with.

GM Hiyami |

I will most definitely pose the question to her. c: Thank you both for your ideas and flexibility!

GM Hiyami |

I have heard back regarding the playable levels!
Regarding MotFF -- There has been a clarification that it is only for first level characters. Have your player substitute, please.
So yes, please bring that 1st level character you've got in the works. c: My apologies for the mix up!

![]() |

good to know, thanks for finding out Hiyami!

GM Red Box |

Ok. I will get that worked. On a related note.
Tomorrow afternoon I am heading out of town for my sisters wedding and then a trip to Nashville for work. Wednesday afternoon till Sunday my internet will be spotty at best as I will be on the family farm.
I will post as I can.

GM Hiyami |

Thank you both. c:

Alrighty, so I've already asked for the basics, but it's been brought to my attention that the head honcho of PbP prefers chronicle sheets be fully filled out. So! I've got some of this from you guys already, but please take the time to give me the information you haven't yet passed along. c:

Okay, my loves, I have to announce that the there'll be at least one weirdly timed week. My fiance and family have conspired to surprise me with a cruise from September 30th to October 7th. During that period of time, I will have internet access, but the scheduling may be weird. That said, here are the options I have for you --
1. Post once a day
2. Hiatus until I come back
Please let me know your preference for that period of time. c: I'm 100% okay with either since I've already paid for the internet. c:
