Comprehend Languages: "The spell enables you to understand or read an unknown language, not speak or write it."
Not sure if "Bah weep granah weep nini bong." meant you were speaking the language or not, so maybe you didn't need the clarification :)
DM Stylz |
Groosalugg starts to speak, but soon finds out that even though he is speaking common, the words are lost on them. The woman, starts to speak in response of what Groosalugg is saying, and Gwendolyn is able to pick apart bits and pieces. The language the woman and the others seem to be speaking is Draconic. The dialect is very crude, and simple, but nonetheless...Draconic. With the help of Gwendolyn translating, as well as Groosalugg, Iago, and Omrijka speaking their views and thoughts, your group is able to convince the leader that you are allies against the troglodytes and not their enemies.
The woman, seeing that Gwendolyn seems to be able to understand her, speaks is simple terms.
General Krahnaliara Lac Suhn, was dragged away by the priests only an hour earlier. She believes that he is now somewhere within their temple. You help us?
Omrijka |
"We will find your leader general Cranalira Lake Soon. In the temple you say wheres that" Omrijka is keen to be moving Hoping by doing things quickly she dont get another visit from the voice in the head
Deluge-Core |
"Yes, quickly move on to the next site and the rescue!"
Iago Dalamitrin |
"But of course we'll help, ridiculously ripped woman from the past!" exclaims Iago who turns to the others and adds "Sounds like the lizard-things from the past aren't the chummy type; fighting them seems inevitable. Maybe if we can get the local humans on our side, we can go ahead and avoid dealing with two sets of angry locals."
Groosalugg |
To facilitate friendlier communication, Groosalugg offers up his cure wand to help out some of the wounded humans.
"Friend Deluge, perhaps you could use this to aid some of their wounded?"
Deluge-Core |
"Absolutely. Anyone in need please step forward."
Zap away.
DM Stylz |
The leader steps forward, and will get healed, than waves you off.
You start to explore, and after a few turn, you meet face to face with a pair of troglodyte taskmaster.

Deluge-Core |
Since there was only one taker, Deluge used the CLW from his spell list instead of the wand.
I think the whole PC party is up. Deluge is going to wait for the fighters to go first as he wants to leave the charge lanes open so don't wait on him just because his init was higher.
Groosalugg |
Groosalugg quick draws a javelin and throws it at the one in red. He'll wait on moving closer, also to avoid blocking anyone's charge lanes.
To hit with-2 range penalty: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 2 = 9

Iago Dalamitrin |
Iago huffs onward, and not for the first time he curses how slow his armor makes him.
Double Move
Deluge-Core |
Now that he will no longer be blocking any charge lanes, Deluge moves up and tosses a magic stone at the one ahead of him.
To hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Sickened characters takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.
The Pathfinder's move forward to engage the troglodyte's in combat. Iago, gets one whiff and begins to get sick to his stomach. Hera, isn't ready for the stench either, and get sick in it's mouth, and throws up a bit on Gwen's shoulder. The others that get near seem to be fine, while Deluge hits one with a magical stone that leaves a big welt on the forehead of one, while the javelin thrown by Groosalugg goes wide and clangs off the wall.
The enemies, charge forward to meet the intruding Pathfinders, clubs raised in anger. Both clubs, strike the mighty warrior as he is sickened by their stench. Gwendolyn can hear the sickening thud the clubs make as they crack Iago's head and ribcage.

fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Deluge takes one step forward and gets a whiff of what the others have been treated to and stops dead in his tracks.
I think this is quite close enough.
He targets blue with a storm burst. I believe there is a -4 for its being in combat, right? Not sure if ranged touches suffer the melee penalty but I don't think it matters that it is a touch spell.
Ranged Touch to Hit: 1d20 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 1 - 4 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, and -2 to attack rolls
The crackling and zapping is off target due to all that shuffling about.
Iago Dalamitrin |
Focusing to the one on his left Iago gags out "Have you ever... heard of... cologne?"
Greataxe, Power Attack vs Blue: 1d20 + 6 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 6 - 1 - 2 = 12

Gwendolyn unleashes a wave of pretty colors that overwhelmed the lizardfolk, and their pets. These troglodytes stare into the colors. One almost falls to the ground in a lump, but manages to avert his eye. The other snorts and pokes at the array with his club.
Get the maker of pretty colors
Both troglogytes look towards Gwen, and both are none to pleased to have their minds played with.
Iago takes a mighty swing, but doesn't connect as his stomach turns over a couple times. Deluge, lets a lets a burst of buffeting winds and air fly from his hand, towards the greenish-blue troglodyte. His aim id a bit off, as the collides with the wall, even despite him keeping his stomach in check.
Two more ppl to go, then my turn.
Sickness:
Iago/Hera: round 2
Groosalugg |
Groosalugg moves forward, again quick drawing a javelin, and throws it at red, but the stench makes him sick enough that it hurts his aim.
Changed attack and damage rolls after seeing the fort save, so the -2 for sickened is already included.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 - 2 = 19

glaive damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
"If you attack my friends I will defend them with equal force"
those with good sense motive may reckon Omrijka may have meant Parlay but she definitely said parslay
DM Stylz |
Groosalugg throws a javelin that hits its mark. It embeds into the troglodytes leg, and this provides a good distraction for Omrijka as she leaves a nasty gash to its arm. The troglodyte seems to waver on its feet, but stands headstrong in the face of the Pathfinders.
Both troglodytes attack Gwen for the array of pretty colors.
red, -2 for soft cover: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 2 = 16
blue: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Both clubs hit Gwen, one in the arm from the one hiding behind the wall, while the one directly in front of her clubs her in the head.

Iago: 8

glaive damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

DM Stylz |
Deluge sends another buffeting winds and it slams into the troglodyte. Even though it isn't intended to kill, it does knock the wind from the enemy, and it slumps to the ground. Groosalugg tosses another javelin while Iago swings his greataxe. Both attacks combine to take down their target. The threat is over.
Combat Over
Groosalugg |
"Well done, my friends!"
Groosalugg collects his javelins, wipes the blood off them quickly, and resheathes them. Just assume he always does this after every fight, as I'm likely to forget to say it specifically sometimes.
Iago Dalamitrin |
"Alrighty! Now that they're down, maybe I'll be able to breathe in the course of the next century. Or five" says Iago, dry-heaving. "How about we loot them of valuables that won't degrade over time and get a move onwards? And if perchance they do happen to have non-time sensitive historical artifacts, let's take those over the baubles."
And with his piece said, our Chelish Pathfinder goes to work, hoping to get out of there as soon as possible.
Deluge-Core |
Deluge joins Iago in his work, though he does not expect to find anything that would interest him. He just wants to get it over with quickly so they can move on. There is a sense of urgency in the air.
Omrijka |
Omrijka digs out a note which reads Buy Alchemissts Fire and a Healy stick "why do I find this note why the shop is shut " she asks "Weren't we supposed to find somebody ?" and she looks to move round the corner
Gwendolyn the Strange -CORE- |
Typical, 'Loot the bodies'. Sigh. What's next, 'door drill'?
"Ow."
Gwen rummage through her pack and produces a couple potion vials.
"Healing potions. How are we on injuries?"
DM Stylz |
You rummage through the remains of the dead enemies, and you find 2 clubs, and a total of 6 javelins.
Heal up as needed
While searching the rest of the Slave Pens for the Chief that was taken, the Pathfinder notice a tunnel passage that wasn't there when they first entered. After speaking with Uszanriar, you decide there is no signs of her leader, and decide that perhaps the tunnel may lead to more answers.
After traveling upwards of 400 feet, and getting a little bit winded, you come to an area with wide flagstones covering the plaza, leading to a stepped pyramid. Larger-than-life statues of serpentfolk and snakes line the plaza, alongside pictograph-covered pillars and small cages filled with all manner of furry, chattering creatures.
Upon entering the plaza, you see two of the statues come to life, and seem to find your presence a troublesome one.

"Distract them will you? I'll go see if there's a shut-off switch."
She readies an action to head to the alter once both statues are engaged in melee.
For her move action, she produces a vial of alchemists' fire.
Hera the Owl |
Hera plucks the alchemists' fire from Gwen's hand and takes to the air, hooting Wagner.
DM Stylz |
Whatever Knowledge is used for Animated Objects?
Deluge slings one of his stones, as it crashes into the bulk of the statue. The statues cracks a bit, and some chunks fall off. It still is bent of stopping your group. While Gwen and her feathered friend team up and work together to launch an attack in the near future.
The statues, both advance on the party.
Iago Dalamitrin |
Animated Objects fall under the ever-so popular Knowledge:Arcana! Assuming it is now my turn.
Iago steps up, a look of concern upon his face as the device gets dangerously close to Gwen. "Interactive museum or not, I draw the line at killer exhibits."
