The Almsman’s directions lead to a heavy wooden door. A sign on the door is partially obscured by grime and moss, and the word “Skytower” is still barely legible.

GM Fuzzfoot |

It is just common sewer moss, prevalent throughout the sewer.

GM Fuzzfoot |

The door is a sturdy wooden door (despite its age and rotted appearance) and is unlocked.
This room was once the basement of a building above, but the stairs in the far corner are now choked with charred rubble and seem to lead to a new stone foundation of the new building above. Odd furniture and knick-knacks of all description fill the remaining space, and strange winged effigies made of wood and broken pottery are arrayed in a bizarre diorama.
The focal point of this display is a pair of chairs standing on different-sized piles of old crates like thrones on a dais. A charred and shriveled corpse dressed in rotting and burnt finery and wearing a tin crown is propped up in one of the chairs while the other, lower chair, sits vacant.
You can hear shuffling and snorting sounds to the west (deeper into the rooms).
If you want to search this room, make another Perception check for that.

"Odd layout...", muses Arkath as he explores the room. "Hope the prince here didn't put someone to th' fire."

GM Fuzzfoot |

The charred corpse has a tin crown that bears a crude inscription that reads “Emperor Relios.”
Amidst the furniture is a desk with several log books and journals. Most seem to be ledgers for a business called Relios' Emporium. There also seems to be a personal journal written by Relios.

Tyranius begins to dig into the crates when he hears a shuffling from the back of the room. His head jerks up as he looks to the others.
Did you hear that? He says pointing to the back of the room.

Auri looks around the room as well.
"Maybe deluded. Who knows what goes through the mind of someone down here." she leafs through the journal and ledges looking for clues and dates.
"No.." she replies to Tyranius. "Trouble?"
She starts to cast a replacement shield (assuming the first has worn off)

GM Fuzzfoot |

OK, go ahead and place yourselves as you like in that room (or still in the sewer), and I will post initiative for the final battle later tonight.

Perception (spoiler): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
I agree, may be the "Emperor" was a Pathfinder who was left here. I heard that before the "Shadow Lodge" appeared a certain number of teams were "forgotten" and missing agents were never look for...
After listening he added
Yes, I heard something strang deeper in the room. Be prepared
Nemrok cast detect magic in the room before going further and casting shield on himself.
@GM is less than 1 hour passed since the last fight ?

GM Fuzzfoot |

I believe it is less than an hour since the last, because other than some quick healing, I don't think you stuck around the Almsman for long. Let's say it was 45 minutes ago.

These are dretches, lowly demons from the Abyss, a favorite target for dabblers in Abyssal summonings. Relatively weak and easy to bully, as far as demons go, these ones in particular seem weaker and slightly smaller than expected - and they appear severely disorientated. Perhaps they are a result of a less-than-fully-successful summoning... in any case, they are still a hazard to contend with!
Auri wins initiative! And you all are able to act before the creatures that are stumbling out of the dark back rooms.
Round 1 (bold may act)
Auri, Arkath, Nemrok, Tyranius, Bartholimu, Kristoff

OK, as the spell dissipates, and you are all able to get in there, you easily finish off the last demon. (Badger and Auri pretty much covered it).
The next rooms are vaults lined with shelves thick with growing yellowcap mushrooms. More faerie effigies hide among the mushrooms, and on the very back wall, There is a large circle of swirling color patterns painted on the back wall. On the floor lies an open and empty scroll case next to a slightly charred, blank piece of parchment.
The following items are mixed among the wreckage of the vaults: brooch of shielding (30 charges), potion of enlarge person, screaming bolt, and of shocking grasp (50 charges), and a gold necklace worth 300 gp.

Auri looks at the painted "portal" to the abyss on the back wall.
"I hope that is not a real one..."
She carefully detects evil around the room, looking for signs of artefacts that may have brought the demons to this realm.
Finally she starts to scrub clear the portal.
"Wouldn't want to give other people bad ideas now."

It appears to just be paint. No evil is detected anywhere now that they demons are destroyed.
