Fearn Keniv |

".... Perhaps he can cast a fresh shadow upon this incident."
This struck me as really funny.
******
I'll be away this weekend including Monday. I might get a post in Sat., might not. If I'm holding things up, please feel free to DM NPC Fearn.

Hopefully we haven't stuck our foot in it with this egalitarian approach. But even if we have done, the honey-tongued Shadrick can pull it out.
I was really good about not reading any of the spoilers, but Sanira's side of her conversation looks very interesting. I can't wait to hear what she has to share.

I gotta say, this encounter with the Baron and his staff has been really awesome. Its a shame this level of immersion seldom comes in the live games I've had - though, that's the jewel of a pbp.
I'd like to applause all of you for your efforts thus far - but we've got a good deal left for this module.
So I'm asking for you all to stay tuned and keep thing's interesting!

Nicola Vlasko Grey |

I was thinking Fearn would lead this part of the conversation.
Yeah, sadly, Nicola has no social skills really besides reactionary ones and is super no-nonsense. Nothing I've done so far has really had an impact* so I'm just waiting to see if I come in handy at all.
My solution to that would've been really volatile, so I chose to just wait to see what would happen. And I've been wishing I started the game with different spells for close to 150 posts now...
Oh well. Glad it's behind us. Who wants to go blind some fey?
*I guess I killed Viluki with faerie fire and my war weasel.

It occurs to be that Sanira may give us a bit more leverage against the baron if she joins the confrontation.
Fearn doesn't like any of it. For him it's all an object lesson in what happens when the wrong god dominates your society. But he'll choose the good of the many (the town) over the good of one man (and not a very good one at that) if it becomes necessary.
Current lines of inquiry :
Merek (from the baron's wife)
The mirror ... and "he is down there".
Ilquis the fey in the Chandlery.
Various missing people including the captain's daughter, Irini (from Gavril)....
FMC can we get a list of all the people we know are missing?
Duboris, nice new icon.

I'm significantly worried about this fey :I
In my mind he is this huge elf looking guy with crazy tats. He's eating someone with giant fun-sized utensils and having dinner conversation with the other person in the room, who is chained to the floor and being whipped by a gnome wearing a party hat.
I hate fey. Let's go blow it up.

Seems to be in accordance that the group wished to hit up the Chandlery for this week's special in, DEATH ( kidding ofcourse ).
Would you rather want post that you're "walking to the chandlery" or allow Super DM transporation to bring you outside of said building.
It should also be worth mentioning that a good deal has passed through the day - meaning that it'll be night time once you head over.
Estimated activity during first day in Karpad.
10am - 12pm: Miscarriage of Justice
1pm Part split - Private Eye Dwarf Detective / Fetchling Meeting
3pm Stopping another Riot
5pm - Baroi Manor ( and various meetings)
7pm - Now.

We're all adults here ( I hope ). For what manner a player doesn't participate within several days, I'm going to DMPC because this PBP AINT going to die out on lack of participation. Given by how you played in the past, I'm gonna use that as inspiration to keep your character going.
And in the off case that you wish to no longer participate, please let me know. Its kinda of a bummer that we have to wait a week just to continue.

Sanira |

Sometimes that life thing gives you a kick in the ass. Hopefully he comes back, though.
Edit: That's some mindf%~~ shit. I posted this then went to go take an action and Nicola posted in that two minute time frame. So I guess he's back and the above is irrelevant. Either that, or FMC summoned him with magical DM power. Could be either, really.

In PbP it is so easy for combat to get muddled.
In one of my other PbP groups, the DM required us to post the next players name at the end of our combat posts. That seemed to help keep everyone in order and cut down on delays due to miscommunication.
In my games I try to post an updated initiative order every round, sometimes twice a round. And I often prompt the next player when I post in combat.
I'm glad we're all back on the same page.

Shadrick Mavis |

*facepalm*
God dangit I knew Viluki would be the death of us...
That said, I have an idea, but it's stupid to the point of no return, even if shadrick is the only one that would possibly even consider it.
I was considering having him bite his tongue as hard as he can to get a nice mouthful of blood out of it, and when I find a place I THINK he's in, spitting that out to try and lower his concealment.
The invisibility doesn't seem like the invisibility spell, as he loses it in darkness, so I figure the blood will just show up on his body.

Viluki! It's just too ironic that dealing with him has left us short of resources for this fight.
If we can grab or grapple this thing somehow, then we'd have a lock on its position. But Fearn can't even reach him with his hammer. That's why I'm switching to crossbow. Even so the 50% miss chance is going to make this a long fight.

It ain't the HP, it's the strength drain I worry about. Fearn's already down a little. The problem is we can't effectively attack Ilquis and he's debuffing us badly.
If Fearn attacks the shadow does he have to drop the smite or can he just come back to it?
We could retreat through the door -- that might limit Ilquis' options. If we can separate the shadow from him and deal with them one at a time ...
