House Rules

Fellow players, it brings me both excitement and pleasure announcing that you will be the individuals responsible for answering Karpad's plight.

This thread will serve as a discussion point of which we can...well you know.

Anyways, here's where we get to the real nitty gritty.

I'm planning on starting this campaign on Monday, to give you all the much needed time to flesh out your characters.

With that being said, I should list somewhere my House Rules so you'll have a better idea of my play style.

= = = = = =

House Rules.

Unarmed Damage is 1d4, instead of 1d3.

Drinking a Potion is a move action instead of a std action, it also incurs an AoO from nearby enemies.

Magic does not crit or fail.

Carrying Weight is not counted - however, be reasonable. Don't try to carry an entire village on your back.

A full rest at night brings back all hp, spells, etc for the following.

(I'm sure I'm missing a few, but I'll post as they continue.)

I am wonderfully content with all of these house rules, but I don't think I'm going to go full Atlas, anyway. Magic's not a problem, and I'm going to need the rest of we end up in lady territory. What about coin weight, good sir?

I do not count coin weight - just think of it as a magical atm card.

Good enough for me.

What about this 6175 starting gold? Am I allowed to spend it prior to the game on just about anything I want, or are their restrictions?

Also I just realized that this group is beautiful.

It's practically oozing charisma scores.

Liquid charisma scores.

You can choose whatever you want to do with that money - its yours after all.

I may suggest in buying much needed gear for your character - from weapon and arms to even mundane stuff like adventuring equipment.

Bag of Holding I
Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds
Potion of Cure Serious Wounds
+1 Masterwork Scythe

Aaaaand I'm down to 191 gold. Good enough for me. I also bought plenty of what I consider necessary gear that cost less than 30 gold.

So I'm going to assume you want bigger, better, more pronounced character depictions, yes? Build on the previous ones, and all that? Let everyone get acquainted with each other?

Some of the guys in the other thing made pretty good sheets, but I was a bit stressed for time. Hence the amazement that I made it.

male human level 4 rogue

Don't worry guys the undead will weep in fear as they see my cart enter the town, afterall I make Gandalf look completely unprepared just look at my equipment and you will understand why.

I saw that list of equipment. A much more prominent jack of all trades than I am, but, I solve most of my problems via intimidation and Diplomacy, otherwise my scythe does the talking.

I don't believe Mavis would enjoy undead. Part of his Sadism comes from the joy of long, wispy arcs of blood. Undead don't exactly bleed.

Male Human Witch 4

I'm here, ferret in tow, to limp around like House and cast faerie fire on some people.

Who's with me?

Male (Very) Human (Chelaxian) Fighter 4

I nominate the invisible people for faerie fire.

I faerie fired myself instead. Now everyone can see me, including the people who didn't know I was there. Faerie fire is tuff.

I like the houserules. I'll need to flesh myself out a little more, but I think Nicola's at a good place right now.

Male (Very) Human (Chelaxian) Fighter 4

I agree. I need to flesh my character out more as well, especially for the paladin, as my guy likes to practice his nasty habits in private, save for his sadism.

Also I don't think he'll enjoy his twist on Perform: Dance

So Nicola, how's about you tell me more about your character?

Like, for example, what any of you would do if for some reason you investigated my room at night, and found me doing a particularly entrancing dance with my scythe and my armor off. And every few seconds I cut a wound into my body by dragging my scythe across my body?

How would Nicola respond to that, if you just so happened to be peeking?

Purely assume you're another Kuthonite with issues. Nicola doesn't judge, but he doesn't like the big Zee-Kay either. Religion is something Nicola leaves to the baba's and the demagogues, and it ruins good conversation.

He would judge you if you judged him feeding his ferret burned up scrolls in chicken paste by candlelight and talking to it in Varisian.

He'd probably be okay with that. In fact he'd probably enjoy feeding your ferret. Talking to it, on the other hand, he would consider a tad odd. But at the same time he can't judge strange people on account of him mutilating himself nightly.

As for being a worshiper of Zon Kuthon, he isn't, and he happens to actually be a worshiper of Zura, because of her ties to the Blood domain.

He only got into the religion because he originally had a thing for Sadism and Masochism, as well as his love of blood and all things crimson. None of these are prominently displayed, however, and in game he will probably only speak of it if the situation absolutely demands it.

He's not a murderer.

So all this being said, where exactly are the other 2? I'm curious to learn more about the both of them.

Hm, I might have to extend the game start if these guys aren't around.

Not on your life. Worst case scenario, we add the other people that showed high amounts of interest/good grammar.

That being said, I'll be enjoying the game regardless. I'd personally love to hop into a chatroom and have a jolly chat, but just the 3 of us would be plenty.

There's also a few key things I need to discuss with you, which I'll most likely do here if you don't want to go to the chatroom.

male human level 4 rogue

Ready to produce the hoax to end all hoaxs!

Alright, well, that's 3 of us. We need the last man. Ice titan, was it?

LG Male, Dwarf Paladin of Torag 5 (HP 53/53)

Hey, Guys, I'm here and psyched to play. FratManCy, thanks for the opportunity. Apologies for the delay -- my weekend posting schedule can be a little erratic depending on family life. Weekdays I am much more solid.

The house rules are perfectly acceptable.

Sounds like this group could have a little internal tension. I've no problem with that in RP; but if inter-character tension gets too high and one of you isn't comfortable, don't get upset. Bring it here and I can tone Fearn down. As players I feel we're all on the same team.

I'll get Fearn fleshed out and take him shopping.

Whelp, I've got my guy pretty much set for transit. Glad to see you. He's NE.

I discussed with Fratmancy about my characters habits, and I'll try to keep the internal tension low.

Besides. It's mostly flirting with the locals... who you're paladin will most likely be more focused on.

Ah good! The whole team's here.

If time is needed, I can extend the game's start to somewhere later in the week. ( I'd rather we don't rush into things without getting settled).
Please let me know if this is the case

Also, a really good point.

HOW DO WE START?

Well, without spoiling the nature of the campaign - one of the first events will serve as an introduction.

Oh speaking of that, have any of you played this module before?

Mavis's Concept:

1:) Mavis, even while young, was a wonderful looking man. A veritable ocean of charm in the eyes of ladies. When he began to become a fighter he kept those charms and toned his body, adding to his already great amount of charisma. He's not the strongest, and not the most agile, but he's still above-average and is capable of making strides in the front lines of battle.
2:) Mavis is very religious. Unfortunately, the first religion he took part in, he became extremely religious, devoutly believing in the existence of the gods. While others turned to faith, and love, he turned to the Hedonist side of things and found the Queen of blood, Zura. He is still a great follower of her, but he simply practices her worship in private, and atones for his rejection of the ultimate devotion; becoming a vampire, by performing a savaging ritual at night where he mutilates his body ever slightly in a graceful dance with his crimson scythe.

3:) As a man, Mavis has a weak point when it comes to the ladies. He glorifies women at every turn, and frequently spoils them. He's not subtle, and an extremely smooth talker. This trait also applies to everyone else, as he is a wonderful merry maker. He's also not too shabby at wording his way out of trouble, or suspicion.

4:) Mavis is Good-Natured, and is only evil because of his devotion, and fetishes towards Sadism and Masochism. He's not greedy, he's just seductive with weird kinks which he never practices in public. Sadism is the exception, however, as he enjoys the slaughter of enemies that he's actually allowed to kill.

5:) Mavis, while he doesn't practice his obedience via dance in public, is often seen with a small, crimson book on his person. This book is of course, the book of Zura, which preaches towards the ideas of shedding blood, and how people can do it in privacy. It also dictates what people do to silently reveal their faith to other Zurans in good-aligned areas.

Enjoy the full stat block and character concept.

LG Male, Dwarf Paladin of Torag 5 (HP 53/53)

Fearn's Profile is under his alias. I've got a big chunk of his gear purchased. Less then 1000 gp left to spend.

I'll punch out some more background. And double check his stats.

Interesting choice with the whip, and even more interesting under the concept spoiler. Fearn is quite boring by comparison. WYSIWYG is Fearn to a tee.

> Paladin says "Interesting choice of weapon"
> Weapon is a whip

> Only ever use the whip for torture and flying enemies

We should all really try to get on the same page here.

Anyone who sees this, if you have steam, search "Parkofrogorel" or "Duboris" for a friend. You're looking for a bald old man with an eyepatch for the picture. Pretty sure my character name is Parkofrogorel. Regardless, if it's duboris, add that.

Might do!

Kind of sad that Mavis is so ladies-centric and we've got four male PCs. No one to impress during combat.

I'm pretty sure he'll find something lady-like to impress in this campaign.

Even if it is a succubus. I haven't played this module before, so I'm not sure.

LG Male, Dwarf Paladin of Torag 5 (HP 53/53)

By my hammer, I've never been to Karpad before.

A solemn oath for Fearn, so you can count on that.

FMC, we should probably have the paladin chat to make sure I know what your expectations are regarding code and transgressions thereof.

Ice Titan, I've seen you around the boards. Much respect. Nicola also looks like an intriguing character.

Duboris, sorry. I'm not on steam. Always available in the thread here though.

Viluki, welcome to the Paizo boards.

I am looking forward to gaming with all of you. Never played with a witch or charlatan before, so I really want to see what those classes have under the hood and how you've souped them up. Being partial to rogues, I especially want to see how he turns out.

Male (Very) Human (Chelaxian) Fighter 4

I'm plenty prepared to start posting at the drop of a hat. What of the other 2? They're rather silent, for the most part. Getting a picture would help as well.

I'm mostly interested in seeing how my and your characters handle each other, Fearn.

And it begins...

Male (Very) Human (Chelaxian) Fighter 4

Well I'm sure various people are idling around. Since we know the majority of people are on the same page, how about we just get started?

So the game's up.

I'm hoping that we could atleast do 1 post / day. If you're having problems in committing or anything else, feel free to PM or hit me up on steam ("kingulyseus" or "cy").

1? If we get everyone in the same area, I could easily do 70.

The game's just started and you've treated me to public displays of animosity and carnal human nature.

I. I think I might cry. This is gonna be great.

Double time people, I have a whole lot of nothing to do!

LG Male, Dwarf Paladin of Torag 5 (HP 53/53)

Been writing background on Fearn, arranging him in my mind. I'll go check the game thread!

I'm perfectly content with our characters running into each other, by the way, Fearn. In fact, I would prefer it, so we could begin quickly. I have about 50 minutes to get to my house after I write this, and as soon as I get there, I hope you have something down and mancy takes note.

The polar opposites should probably get on each other's good sides first.

Male Human Witch 4

Worked all day today and I promise to have a post up in the early afternoon sometime tomorrow. Promise!

Just going to take this moment to express my significant happiness that everyone has posted.

Viluki's posts could use a little more oomph and dazzle, however.

Male (Very) Human (Chelaxian) Fighter 4

Heading to bed.

So, I have a question. In the case of "Jeroi" the charllatan. How is the paladin going to feel about a rogue impersonating a man of faith?

LG Male, Dwarf Paladin of Torag 5 (HP 53/53)

Good question. I guess we'll all find out when Fearn discovers the ruse.

It's funny because he's the LN, and I'm the NE, and I'm going to have less of a splash on the hate pool, bahahaha!

LG Male, Dwarf Paladin of Torag 5 (HP 53/53)

Ahh the chaos of RPing conversation in PbP. Say too little and things take forever. Say too much and someone always wants to chip in a comment in the middle of your post.

male human level 4 rogue

Don't worry the dwarf is not agile enough to catch me if he decides to bring me to justice.

As a Lawful Neutral, he shouldn't have to consider it. I was under the impression I'd be the one on their toes, but, you picked a pretty... interesting starting point.

I'm considering parting ways and asking a guard about the way to the barons.

Save Fetchlings? Watch Fetchlings die? Or are we going to try and smooth talk our way out of this? I can diplomacize a group rather well. Better than the fat man can.

The guy was looking for a person of faith to help with the ceremony, yes? Couldn't we get "The Priest" to go and give the situation "His Blessing"

And by Priest I mean the rogue.
And by His blessing, I mean a turn of phrase.
