Let's pick our playset here.

A playset determines what sort of game we're playing. Do we want to play a game where we're the idle rich at a party in a penthouse? The passengers and crew of an airplane? Small time thugs in the suburbs?

Go to the playsets page and pick one to nominate. We'll vote once everyone has nominated one.

"Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!" -- Cervantes

Okay, the ones that I thought would be the most interesting were

Dragon Slayers
Home Invasion
Rat Patrol

I guess I'll nominate Dragon Slayers, since the idea seems like the easiest to start with from Pathfinder, but open to other ideas of course. (And warning, this particular playset blurb has offensive language. Sorry.)

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hey Zanbabe! Oh Dragon Slayers sounds like fun!

Personally, I have always wanted to play London 1593 or Salem 1692. Looking through this list, Back to the Old House and Tartan Noir sound good as well.

I think for my nomination, I'm going to have to go with Salem 1692.

Hey Kaavek. :)

8-07 Map DungeonMaster

1913 NewYord
1936 Los Angelas
and Rat Patrol are my top three picks in no particular order

I'm fine with any, but I prefer a modern setting

Dark Archive

Sunless Citadel Maps

I'm up for anything, I don't see why it matters but I've played Touring Rock Band, I've played it another time but I none of the other playbooks are ringing a bell.
Kind of like it more when you're ordinary people who are in over their heads, so Home Invasion? or maybe Manna Hotel?

That said I'm not fussy, I'm happy to try Dragon Slayers as that seems to have two votes

Ok, just combing through the different suggestions to pull out nominees

Dragon Slayers
Home Invasion
Rat Patrol
Salem
Any modern setting (Picking Flyover)
And my choice: Dangerous Games

Everyone, read over the playsets, especially the “Movie Night” section and vote your top 3 in order of preference. We’ll do ranked choice (aka instant run off) voting.

My votes are
Dangerous Games
Home Invasion
Rat Patrol

"Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!" -- Cervantes

My votes are

Dragon Slayers
Dangerous Games
Home Invasion

Dark Archive

Sunless Citadel Maps

Bearing in mind i haven't read more than the blurb of any of these.

Home Invasion
Flyover
Dangerous Games

Grand Lodge

I’m going to vote for...

Salem
Dangerous Games
Dragon Slayers

"Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!" -- Cervantes

So, if we are going with weighted votes as in first choice = 3 and last choice = 1, here are the standings so far:

Dangerous Games -- 8
Home Invasion -- 6
Dragon Slayers -- 4
Salem -- 3
Flyover -- 2
Rat Patrol -- 1

Home Invasion
Flyover
Dangerous Games

8-07 Map DungeonMaster

Oh, yep, gotta get those votes in.
Edit: My votes are in
Rat Patrol
Dangerous Games
Salem

Grand Lodge

Is that everyone?

I think that gives us a clear winner, right?

Final scores

Dangerous Games -- 11
Home Invasion -- 9
Dragon Slayers -- 4
Salem -- 4
Flyover -- 4
Rat Patrol -- 4

Yup!

Ok, here's the next part:

Everyone will need 1 relationship and 1 of the following with each player on your "Right" and "Left"

Need
Location
Object

Relationships define the connection between you and another player. Location/Need/Object are things that need to come into play between your two characters.

Since we're not really sitting at a table, we'll just arbitrarily decide who is "connected" to whom.

1. Meetch: Kaavek and SpinningDice
2. Kaavek: Meetch and DoubleGold
3. DoubleGold: Kaavek and Neat_Hat
4. Neat_Hat: DoubleGold and ZanBabe
5. ZanBabe:Neat_Hat and Spinning Dice
6. SpinningDice: ZanBabe and Meetch

Now I roll four dice per person.

Semi-random character selection: 24d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 6, 6, 4, 5, 1, 5, 1, 6, 3, 2, 4, 6, 5, 3, 6, 5, 3, 1, 1, 5, 5) = 95

For ease of selection:

1111
2
3333
444
5555555
66666

Open up the "Dangerous Games" playset. You'll see for each type (relationship/need/location/object) there are six categories and six items within each category. On your turn, you'll need to establish one of the types (use a die to pick one of the upper level categories). Once the type is established, THEN you define it by picking the lower level item.

It's a little confusing, but it makes sense once it gets started. I'll go first.

I'm going to use a 4 to establish a Rivals relationship between myself and Spinning Dice.

Next is Kaavek. On Kaavek's turn they can establish the relationship between me and Kaavek or between Kaavek and DoubleGold, using one of the remaining dice to pick one of the top-level categories (Family 1, Friends 2, Business 3, Rivals 4, Teammates 5, Twisted 6).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Also, I posted the remaining dice pool in the campaign info, and I'll update it as people take their turns.

Could you possibly open up gameplay for dot-and-delete, just to get it on my campaigns list? Easier to keep track of that way.

Could someone link me to the actual playset PDF? Thanks!

Gameplay: Up!

Playset: Linkedn

Grand Lodge

Okay, I'm going to use one of those fives to establish a Teammates relationship between me and Meetch.

Next is DoubleGold. Establishing the top-level relationship between me and DoubleGold or between DoubleGold and Neat_Hat.

The 2 was used, so it should be

1111
3333
44
555555
66666

and Neat Hat's turn... correct? Took out the 4, 5, and 2 that were used.

We’ve been doing strike through to keep track of what’s used, but it’s a little hard to read. How about this:

1111
3333
44
555555
66666

Used: 2, 4, 5

Meetch/Spinning Dice: Rivals
Kaavek/Meetch: Teammates
DoubleGold/Neat_Hat: Friends

Neat_Hat, it’s your turn. You can define your friendship relationship with DoubleGold or establish a top level relationship with Zanbabe.

DoubleGold wrote:
I'm going to use the 2 to be friends with me and neat_hat105.

Let’s keep character creation in the discussion thread, please.

Checking in... still here; just waiting for my turn.

Grand Lodge

Anyone heard from Neat_Hat?

Ok, that's a negative from Neat_hat. We'll drop him and just slot in ZanBabe in his place.

1. Meetch: Kaavek and SpinningDice
2. Kaavek: Meetch and DoubleGold
3. DoubleGold: Kaavek and ZanBabe
4. ZanBabe: Kaavek and Spinning Dice
5. SpinningDice: ZanBabe and Meetch

1111
3333
44
555555
66666

Used: 2, 4, 5

Meetch/Spinning Dice: Rivals
Kaavek/Meetch: Teammates
DoubleGold/ZanBabe Friends

"Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!" -- Cervantes

Okay, so I am going to take a 1 and set the top level relationship for Zanbabe and Spinningdice as Family.

Current Status:

1. Meetch: Spinningdice and Kaavek
2. Kaavek: Meetch and DoubleGold
3. DoubleGold: Kaavek and Zanbabe
4. Zanbabe: DoubleGold and Spinningdice
5. SpinningDice: Zanbabe and Meetch

111
3333
44
555555
66666

Used: 1, 2, 4, 5

Meetch/Spinningdice: Rivals
Kaavek/Meetch: Teammates
DoubleGold/Zanbabe Friends
Zanbabe/Spinningdice Family

Awesome. Your turn, Spinning Dice! You can define your family relationship with Zanbabe or define our rival relationship

"Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!" -- Cervantes

Can we still play with 4?

Grand Lodge

I’m still up for it if we can.
