@Aldrea - Fair enough. In the future, put an * or something on your perception skill so the DM knows you're taking a penalty at all times.

Terrill just barely misses his mark but he manages to set up Jarlgur perfectly allowing the ulfen to skewer the vicious harpy. She gives a dying scream as her filthy form goes limp and falls to the ground. Up above, the singing voice suddenly stops.

Aldrea, you'll be free to act next round.

Linark is up.

Linark begins climbing the rock to stop Aldrea from going to a certain death:
Climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Linark finds that, without his armor, climbing is easy and manages to get alongside Aldrea just as she's snapping out of her daze.

Flying out from the 'mouth' of the monument is a young harpy. She glances down at her slain pair and howls in rage. Whirling her morning star overhead, she dives at her mother's killer!

Linark sees the creature attacking his fellows, and he hasn't got his share of blood in this battle yet. He aims for the creature square and drops, free falling in a charge over the creature, hoping the hit would slow down the fall:

Terrill impales the second harpy killing her instantly and before he body can hit the ground, Linark attacks from above, severing her head neatly.

Hokama finally snaps out of the harpy’s song’s effect and looks up with horror at the monument before him.

”My slave! You must go recover my slave!”

Jarlgur searches the nest for anything of interest or value. Linark, do you have any rope? We should try to get the boy down for a proper burial. Jarlgur will then call down to the party, explaining what has been found and asking Hokama what he would like done with the boys remains.

Linark enjoys the view up there for a second, savoring the wind. Is the view pretty? JK[ooc]. He tries to find any signs of the caravan up in the distance:
Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4

Then he listen to Jarlgur, thinking for a second before answering. We could just throw him down and get him there.
Yes I do Jargulr, but i don't think we have time to spare with that. I don't even see the caravan, do you? They must be making haste.

The view is nice. You have a good vantage point to see the whole of the desert canyon. In fact, you can see Shat-al-Qadr River not more than a few miles from here.

There's little of value in the harpies's nest save a few scattered copper coins.

Linark suddenly tilts his head after hearing the merchant's words, even from clifftop. He breathes heavily, but calms down.

After spending a few minutes building a cairn to give the boy some semblance of last rites, the party resumes their trek.

The smell of water in the air as you leave the mountain pass indicates that the Shat-al-Qadr River runs nearby. As you round a final talus slope, you discover something altogether unexpected. The very caravan you have sought waits before you, the merchants and drovers kneeling with their arms bound behind their backs and the camels clustered nearby. Among these captives walk a dozen or so burly hobgoblin raiders wrapped in the dark robes and helms of the desert bandits you fought before. Standing with his back to you, not ten feet away, is the armored form of the Taldan knight, Gaspar du Mer. He holds his wide-bladed sword in one hand and clutches the tied arms of the caravan mistress Jamila al-Shafah with the other as he shouts orders to the brigands.

This is ~100 feet away.

Okay, Terrill will wait to cast, until a plan is made.

Terrill speaks urgently and quietly to his companions, "We need to do something, to rescue Jamila and the others. I won't stand for them being enslaved by hobgoblins, or whatever worse fate du Mer has in mind - I hold freedom too dear to see so many lose it."

Looking at each of them in turn, he continues, "I can call on Desna in several ways to prepare myself better for battle. Jarlgur, if you can provide us with magical armor, that would help. We may have time to put on our own armor instead, but I'm not sure of that. Anyone else have ideas on how best to prepare ourselves? We must act quickly!"

Finished with their preparations, the party approaches as closely as they can before they detected. One of the hobgoblins quickly raises an alarm.

”We’re under attack!”

Gaspar’s eyes go wide in shock when he spots the Pathfinders, a distraction that gives Jamila the time she needs to break away from him and rub a jeweled ring on her finger.

”You’re a fool Gaspar du Mer!” she screams.

A moment later, a number of fearsome genies burst from the sands and, after a gesture from Jamila, move to engage the hobgoblins.
