A solid healer would be nice, we had Blaze but he went MIA. We've got arcane magic, melee, and a little bit of ranged, so really Anything can fit in. Shifter vegan! Warforged courtesan! A changeling with multiple personality disorders! An aberrant marked paladin! Blood of Vol cultist who is anemic! Okay I'm done :P
Right now I'm thinking paladin, mostly because it's a healer that won't overlap on Silian's full divine casting. Not sure what kind of paladin to play though, since there's about half a dozen ways to do it. Haven't done a good TWF paladin in a while.
Yeah that's kinda universal agreed as one of the best archetypes ever.
I'm toying with the idea of an archer paladin, and my only worry is how strong our front line is. With Silian (companion?), Akasha, and Vannevar, do we need somebody up in the thick of things still?
The only problem I have with a paladin, is that in playing an evil character, I wouldn't want the typical "paladin looks the other way" mentality. Every time a paladin joins a party they tie their shoes or go around a corner while the party loots, maims, murders, and are regular adventuring beacons of jerk-dom. When the party goes against the paladin's core, then things get messy.
I think when a party begins fighting amongst themselves it's more the evil character's fault than the paladin's lol.
Looting is fine unless you're playing ridiculously lawful stupid. Not sure why you would need to maim anybody. Murder is a pretty strong word for eliminating forces of evil or defending yourself.
I know how to play a good paladin who doesn't ruin the fun, although I hope you would never give him/her a reason to scan you with detect evil haha.
Oh, and do remember that you don't even detect as evil this early anyways since you're not an aligned creature. Unless you have a class ability that gives you an aura, evil won't radiate off of you until level 5.
Well that's not right, I misread, lol. I read something that was in reference to clerics in the paladin section but didn't catch the cleric part at first.
Paladins must remain Lawful Good, clerics can be of a differing alignment than their deity. Paladins must be LG, Monks must be Lawful, Druids must have a view of some Neutrality, but other than that, alignment is very grey in Eberron.
Soon enough! I don't think we need more direct frontliners, but something along the lines of general support like a bard, ranger, cleric, oracle, summoner, druid, witch, artificer, or a gunslinger if you're feeling frisky.
Range would be good as would full arcane or utility. I'd say Bard, Gunslinger, Ranger would be the three most useful though. Could definitely see running into a Gunslinger in the hellhole part of town.
I don't think I need to go arcane when we have a sorcerer AND a magus.
Whoops, totally forgot we just had a new tanky frontliner added to the party, yeah I'll definitely stick with ranged than. I'm going to bed right now (2am local time) but I'll get the character drawn up tomorrow.
Gotta admit, I didn't see that one coming. "The rats are the size of me... but wait... if I shrink myself down to normal rat size I can confuse the living hell out of them and rule them as their angry bomb-chucking god!"
Got the crunch done, haven't touched on the fluff yet. In my aliases by the name of Fosco Tosscobble if you want a look. G'night all.
Chaldira Zuzaristan is not an Eberron deity, even though we're using Pathfinder rules, you're characters live in Eberron and so would worship Eberron deities.
How did you come about Sylvan as a starting language? Unless I'm completely missing something, the PRD says, "Languages: Halflings begin play speaking Common and Halfling. Halflings with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, and Goblin." And I don't believe that Sylvan is a language associated with Paladins the way it is Druids.
You should have rolled for your wealth the same as you did with the creation of Aeyra.
While writing your background be sure to make ways to make him unique to Eberron. Also, if there are any Eberron specific traits/feats/skills etc that you would swap out for whatever you have down already to make hum more specific to Eberron, that would be awesome.
And one who's annoyed by people who don't listen to tactics. I think this party is pretty much Darwinian in nature. And as far as they're concerned, Aeyra just earned herself a Darwin Award.
Everyone else, I have decided to not accept the new submission Aeyra was offering up since there has been so much discord between the players/characters. It's a shame that things didn't work out better, but it is what it is.
I've reopened the recruitment. I'm wanting to bring in another Warforged. Please feel free to keep an eye on it and give me your feedback on submissions.
Vannevar and I will not be online much this weekend, celebrating for his birthday on Monday. We will post when we are able to! I hope everybody has a fantastic weekend!
Did everyone fill out the wishlist section on their profiles? I've decided that on player birthdays (and I will keep track!) if you have a wishlist in place and there's something reasonable on there, I'll pick something for your character to have for free for your birthday.
