For Jonah to make Silian Boots of Elvenkind/Boots of the Cat: scroll of feather fall- 25gp, Use Magic Device check DC 21, emulate elf race Use Magic Device check DC 25, Spellcraft to create item DC 16, 2,250 gp in materials, one day of downtime, or 8 hour chunks broken up over several days. So Silian would buy the scroll and give you the other gold, unless you wanted to charge more for the service.

I think you would be looking at more scrolls unless we get our arcane caster to help.

Boots of elvenkind. I don't need to emulate the elf race. :)
If we have an arcane caster who could spend the overall 3 days of with the spell feather fall memorized and available for me.

Yes, I can do it, with the simple taking 10, but will still take 3 days overall.

Boots of the elvenkind 1250 in materials.
Boots of the Cat 500 in materials + 50% = 750
Total 2000 gp in materials to double them up on the same pair if allowed.

Boots of the cat +1 day
Boots of elvenkind 2 days by magic making rules. :)

According to clarification in this thread, any contributors must also have the item creation feat.

The way I had read it, only one needed the item creation feat. Any of the others can provide the missing components.

such as Feather fall for an arcane caster, while I do the creation.

we can always confirm on the rules/faq's to see what the answer was. :)

Been trying to find an official ruling on the matter. The Pathfinder SRD has this to say:
Cooperative Crafting

If you need another character to supply one of an item's requirements (such as if you're a wizard creating an item with a divine spell), both you and the other character must be present for the entire duration of the crafting process. If the GM is using the downtime system, both you and the other character must use downtime at the same time for this purpose. Only you make the skill check to complete the item — or, if there is a chance of creating a cursed item, the GM makes the check in secret.

If the second character is providing a spell effect, that character's spell is expended for the day, just as if you were using one of your own spells for a requirement. If the second character is a hired NPC, you must pay for the NPC's spellcasting service for each day of the item creation.

But it doesn't site the ruling, and that seems to directly contradict what the rules as written state. So I'm a little confused. Talking to Twi, but she is having me do the footwork on the ruling. The valet archetype of a familiar, from the Animal Archive, states that a valet familiar gets the Able Assistant trait, and is considered having all of the item creation feats that its master does... since this is a newer(ish) supplement this reinforces my thought that two or more casters working on a magic item must meet the mandatory feat prerequisite. Would love input if somebody can find an easier answer.

Female Human Hexcrafter Magus 3

Looks like to do it without both people requiring the feat, the secone person would need the Cooperative Crafting feat.

Your assistance makes item crafting far more efficient.

Prerequisites: 1 rank in any Craft skill, any item creation feat.

Benefit: You can assist another character in crafting mundane and magical items. You must both possess the relevant Craft skill or item creation feat, but either one of you can fulfill any other prerequisites for crafting the item. You provide a +2 circumstance bonus on any Craft or Spellcraft checks related to making an item, and your assistance doubles the gp value of items that can be crafted each day.

Cooperative Creation
Several people can work together to create a magic item if the person with the item creation feat doesn't meet all of the item's prerequisites. For example, 9th-level Mialee could work with 9th-level Jozan to create a scroll of raise dead, even though Mialee doesn't have the spell and Jozan doesn't have the feat. The character with the feat pays the XP cost, but anyone can contribute money to offset the gp cost. Everyone involved in creating the item must spend the required 8 hours each day working on the item (the total creation time doesn't increase, but all participants must be there the entire time). This is because both the source of the spell's power (in this case, Jozan) and the person translating that spell into another form (in this case, Mialee) have to be present for the entire time the that spell is being translated. Basically, Mialee can't write down Jozan's spell description if he's not there, and Jozan can't recite it to her if she's not there.
A character can also use a spell completion or spell trigger item to create an item with a spell he otherwise couldn't cast. For example, even if he doesn't actually know the bull's strength spell, Hennet could use a wand of bull's strength in conjunction with the Craft Wondrous Item feat to make a gauntlets of ogre power. When using the source spell from an item in this way, each day of item creation would require the expenditure of one scroll of the spell or one charge from the item.

It's from 3.5 but it makes my life easier, makes rp easier, and brings the argument to an end!

so what that is saying, is that one needs the feat, and the other can help by providing the missing requirement. :)

I am willing to work with that, and I am sure that our arcane caster is willing to learn the spell feather fall. :)

It's not like Featherfall isn't a damn good spell to know in Sharn.

Shadow Lodge

Male Elf Druid 3

Yes, spell-like abilities do count, from my research. So for the Boots of the Cat you would only need it for the one day. Adding Boots of Elvenkind to them or vice versa is just added cost, but you treat the item in question as if it were nonmagical for the purposes of time and whatnot.

Gm, the books dont give a list of what is needed to make items other than high quality gear on which to anchor it.

So really not sure what kind of list you were looking for. I was going to say the money was used in powders, oils and pearls in order to help the magic stay in.

OK, well he's probably able to find at least some of that here, although probably not as much as he's looking for i.e. 3000 gp worth. Most of what she has wouldn't be considered accessory but already constructed.

In which case, I will continue to look through the city for materials.

The 3k gold, is the making price for the 3 items that I was intending to build myself. :)

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

I had sincerely hoped to avoid having to do this but alas, the universe is not cooperating in my favor. I have a presentation due tomorrow night that was supposed to be a group effort thing but my group has appeared to totally flake on this. Now I must rush to get this crap all done myself. I have to go out of town for my last on-campus meeting for the semester tomorrow evening so posting for the next few days will be sketchy at best.

Will be posting from my tablet, where i can look at the maps, but cannot interact with them.

Speak to Loreth about what has happened in Sharn in the past two years regarding Boromar activities.

OK, so here's the deal. Life is messing with me big time right now and I really just can't deal with running these games. Not right now. You are welcome to decide among yourselves to find another DM, or wait indefinitely for me to figure out the mess I'm in and be able to return. I will not hold any hard feelings if you want to find another DM, and I won't hold any hard feelings if you just want to quit playing. I'm very sorry.

Just wanted to give you all an update. Some of you already know but my grandmother passed away last week. As you can imagine this has added significantly to the already rough time that I've been having.
